As long as they come back to Bryan ultimately beating Orton for the title at a major show, I'm fine with him moving a spot down the card for a few months while Cody and/or Show get a shot or two for the title. I'd really hate for all this to happen just to have Cena come back and beat Orton to show that all these other faces aren't worthy contenders.

Didn't even think about that Raj. But now I'm scared you might be right. Cena vs. Orton at Mania. World's biggest bathroom break.

Certainly seems the most likely scenario out of all of them to me. Probably with Vince leading the charge for Cena to 'save' the WWE. Conveniently forgetting that Vince was the guy who didn't want Cena or Bryan as champ in the first place, of course.

I have to say I was thoroughly entertained by Edge last night. I wasn't huge on him during his solo career but it was great to finally see someone tearing apart Triple H like that. Don't understand why they have him booked for Smackdown as well though if they would up kicking him off Raw.
One of the things I didn't like about what they did with this is that that they announced him coming back. I feel like it would have been better if they had him and even Goldust just show up. Last week when I heard Edge's music I wasn't looking at the TV at the time, and I thought wow that's an interesting surprise and then it turned out to be a promo for him being there next week. However I do understand the reason for it an and as much as I hate the line I have to say it was "best for business" obviously if people know they will be there beforehand they are gonna draw bigger ratings. However it was a nice surprise with Santino at least. I thought he had fallen of the face of the earth for a bit.
A very entertaining match he put on with Cesaro. Loved the giant swing, that guys abilities continue to shock me in all of his matches. I was disappointed that they gave Santino the win.
I really don't understand what they are doing with their Dolph Ziggler booking. They give him the title and then they take it away and pretty much bury him already. Alright I get the fact that he lost the title to put Del Rio over as a heel but why couldn't they just give him the title back after that. They have him lose to Bray Wyatt now in a match that made no sense for storyline purposes. If they are setting him up for the US title have him face the shield or something.
Great match between Goldust and Orton. I've always enjoyed Dustins work in the ring and it's nice to see he still had it in him.

I've enjoyed all of the high-profile matches they've had against each other, but there've been a whole lot of those matches (including a Triple Threat at WM) and I'm in no rush to see another Cena-Orton feud.

I'm just not a fan of either of them. So I have no horse in the race. And being in all likelihood I'll be at Mania this year, it'll be the second year in a row that I wasn't into the Main Event at all while there.

Jim Ross Retires
Having been a big fan of his since his early Mid-South days, it's a bit of a sad day. On the other hand, considering how badly he's been treated on TV in the last several years, I'm happy that he's in a place where he feels he can hang up the headset. Happy retirement to the greatest play-by-play man in wrestling history.

I saw that as well, but honestly I'm not sure what kind of changes his retirement from WWE will actually entail. Will he stop appearing on TV? He hasn't done much of that anyway, and they aren't on bad terms, if they want him at TV he'd still show up I would assume. Will he stop going to NXT to help out? That is probably what this retirement is mostly about, as from what I understand he was going to Florida once a month or so to work with announcers and talent at the training facility.
But I bet they will still sell his products at WWE.com, I bet he will still do the legends speaking engagements, like the ones with Mean Gene and King that he tweeted and blogged so much about.

Main Event was pretty good tonight. Kofi vs. Cessaro was very good. 3MB vs PTP's was pretty good, and Tons of Funk on commentary were better than I expected them to be. I didn't see the point in having Big E. squash R-Truth one week after Truth had the best match of his career and went over the uncrowned World Heavyweight Champion, Damien Sandow, but thanks to the magic to DVR I didn't have to suffer through that

So, as it comes out today that JR's retirement was apparently more of a 'you can retire or we'll fire you' sort of thing, any changes in impression?

Whether it's a force retirement or not, JR hasn't brought anything really to the product in a while. So I don't see that being a big deal. However, one thing that I'm thinking the by retiring, any benefits with the company (IF ANY) would not be lost, compared to be being fired. So this might be a good thing, but hey what do I know!!

Haven't read too much about the video game thing outside of JR and Flair were drunk during the lineup announcement. I don't know if he said anything "harmful" to the company or not, but after all the shit he's put up with (while being pretty well compensated) from Vince and Co., it makes me feel less of upper management for forcing him out. We've still got a active in-ring talent who has been featured on TV at least once a week since a DUI 6 months or so ago and a guy with 2 strikes on the Wellness Program is the "face" of the company.

Yea, I heard they were pissed at JR for not reigning in Flair more at that ordeal, but what did they expect JR to do? Go physically remove Flair from the stage? I mean he was trying to get Flair back on script. Seems silly to force him out of NXT over that. Like Snipe said, ain't like he was ever on TV anyway. Hurt's them more than it hurts JR in my view.

What's amazing about Double C's giant swing is how little the move affects him. Like legitimately, he doesn't appear the least bit dizzy or anything. What I saw of SD! was ok tonight, I will go back and watch the entire show a little later though. The last segment with Bryan, Orton, and Edge I thought was good. Edge has good chemistry with Daniel and his timing was still spot on, and better than Hunter's as far as dealing with Daniel in front of a live audience goes. Anywho, Daniel putting Orton in the Lebell Lock and ending the take home show in a happy place doesn't bode well for his title hopes at N.O.C. but as long as that match isn't the end of Bryan's involvement with Orton I'm ok with that. It should be Survivor Series before he takes the title back. And then goes on to Wrestlemania to take on the Royal Rumble winning CM Punk in the main event . Hey damnit, quit laughing, I will be attending my first Wrestlemania (hopefully) and reserve the right to unrealistically hope for my dream main event.

Night of Champions was a pretty mediocre PPV. I want to say Punk/McGillicutty was the match of the night. Had the best finish too with Ryback becoming a Paul Heyman guy. Like that choice. Bryan/Orton was a good match technically, but failed to hit on the emotional points imo. Daniel should've been the underdog in the match making us think he would lose. But he dominated too frequently. He won the belt, but expect him to get screwed tonight due to a quick ref count or some other bullshit.
Most of the other matches were mediocre at best with some real crap finishes like Del Rio drawing the DQ on purpose against RVD.
