VINCE MCMAHON: “Moving swiftly along now, what a program we have lined up for you fans here today of WWF Superstars of Wrestling. In our main event, it will be a non-title match as WWF Tag Team Champions Dino Bravo and Brutus Beefcake take on the Hart Foundation! With all the problems between one Brutus Beefcake and the manager Johnny V, this will be one to watch.”
JESSE VENTURA: “I happen to think people are causing problems where there aren’t any. All Brutus Beefcake has to do is listen to Johnny V, and the Dream Team will walk out with their hands raised!”
BRUNO SAMMARTINO: “It’s been tough going from the beginning for Bravo and Beefcake. Believe me, I have no love lost for Beefcake, but it seems to me that Johnny V has been holding this guy back from the beginning!’
VINCE MCMAHON: “Keen advice from both parties! That notwithstanding, we will also have a major announcement from WWF President Jack Tunney about the WWF’s debut on NBC later this month! Certainly this will be news that will have the entire wrestling world talking!”
JESSE VENTURA: “Jesse The Body is a network star if there ever was one! Finally the World Wrestling Federation’s president has the bright idea to put me on NBC!”
VINCE MCMAHON: “Humility as always, Jesse! We will also have the Captain himself, one Louis Bosqueeps Albano here with the one and only George “The Animal” Steele. And then from there, we will hear from World Wrestling Federation Champion Hulk Hogan about what happened last week on this program involving Andre the Giant and the dastardly duo of King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd!”
JESSE VENTURA: “What’s so dastardly about them? Andre was the one who threatened Bundy and Studd with that crutch, McMahon!”

THE JUNKYARD DOG VS. “IRON” MIKE SHARPE
“Iron” Mike Sharpe tries to waylay the Junkyard Dog with some forearm smashes before the bell, but the Dog fights him off. JYD works Sharpe for most of the match, although Sharpe does use that supposed loaded forearm to get the edge momentarily. Sharpe misses a big elbow drop, allowing the Dog to pop to his knees and connect with a big headbutt. JYD then connects with the Thump powerslam to score the victory. JYD gives a juke n’ jive in the middle of the ring after the match.

“MEAN” GENE OKERLUND: “Thank you very much Vince McMahon. Joining me right now is a man who has a lot of people asking questions recently. He is known as the Mouth of the South – Jimmy Hart. Exactly why do they call you that, anyway Jimmy Hart?”
JIMMY HART: “It’s real simple, baby! When Jimmy Hart talks, the world listens. And I have a lot to say here in the World Wrestling Federation.”
“MEAN” GENE OKERLUND: “Let’s get right down to that point Mr. Hart. We have seen you here on WWF programming in recent weeks.”

“MEAN” GENE OKERLUND: “One can only assume that you are scouting talent here in the World Wrestling Federation with the way you have made your presence felt in recent weeks.”
JIMMY HART: “Mean Gene Okerlund, you have a lot of questions! And I have all the answers, baby. But Mean Gene, you’re not gonna get the answers today!”

We go to the office of WWF president Jack Tunney, where he is seated at the head of a boardroom table with NBC’s Dick Ebersol on his right.
JACK TUNNEY: “I would like to welcome fans of the World Wrestling Federation and of course Mr. Dick Ebersol of NBC here to our headquarters here in Stamford, Connecticut. It is my pleasure to take a few moments to share some very exciting news with all of our viewers.
“Earlier this year, it was announced that the World Wrestling Federation had struck a partnership agreement with the National Broadcasting Corporation. That agreement led to WWF Champion Hulk Hogan becoming the first professional wrestler to host Saturday Night Live.
“I am happy to announce that the WWF’s relationship with NBC is only growing stronger. On Saturday night August 30, the World Wrestling Federation will air the first of an on-going series of 90-minute specials called Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC in place of Saturday Night Live.
“All of your favorite World Wrestling Federation stars will be on hand for what will surely be an incredible night of action. Mr. Ebersol, I am very pleased to be making this announcement with you today.”
DICK EBERSOL: “Thank you very much, Mr. Tunney. We at NBC are excited to be partnering with the World Wrestling Federation to see the summer out in style with Saturday Night’s Main Event! I know you have a major announcement as well, Mr. Tunney.”
JACK TUNNEY: “Yes Mr. Ebersol, I am pleased to announce that on the premiere of Saturday Night’s Main Event, it will be World Wrestling Federation Champion Hulk Hogan defending the title against the #1 contender King Kong Bundy at Madison Square Garden! Surely a match that will be the talk of the sports world. We will have many more announcements over the next few weeks. Right now, we send you back to the ring. HOWARD FINKEL: “The following contest is scheduled for one fall, with a 15 minute time limit. In the ring at this time, from Columbus, Ohio, weighing in at 235lbs, FRANKIE WILLIAMS! And his opponent, accompanied his manager the Hollywood Fashion Plate “Classie” Freddie Blassie, he hails from Atlantic City, New Jersey and weighs in at 458lbs – KING KONG BUNDY!”

KING KONG BUNDY w/ Fred Blassie VS. FRANKIE WILLIAMS
Poor Frankie Williams doesn’t even get over his corner, before King Kong Bundy runs across the ring and crushes him in the corner with an Avalanche Splash! Williams just flops down to the canvas and Bundy covers Williams for the 1-2-3! Bundy the demands that referee Earl Hebner count to five. And hugely impressive win for King Kong Bundy in under 15 seconds! He certainly looks ready for his title bout with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan.

“But we have yet more news about Saturday Night’s Main Event here for you on WWF Update. I can confirm that one of the most dangerous men in the history of our sport has returned to the World Wrestling Federation. That man infamously broke the leg of an all-time great, Chief Jay Strongbow, several years ago here in the World Wrestling Federation.
“I am speaking of Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine. Mr. Valentine is a man known for his ruthlessness and his love of injuring his opponents as a point of personal pride. THE HILLBILLS: HILLYBILLY JIM & UNCLE ELMER, AND GEORGE “THE ANIMAL” STEELE w/ Captain Lou Albano VS. “MAD DOG” PELOQUIN, BUTCHER VACHON AND DENIS GOULET
The Hillbillies and The Animal get quite an ovation from the fans, as they run through three tough opponents. Butcher Vachon gives George Steele some trouble, but The Animal manages to gouge his eyes and bites his forehead. Uncle Elmer the makes the tag to scoop slam and splash Butcher Vachon to score the win.

VTR: Footage from last week airs as King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd corner an injured Andre the Giant, before Hulk Hogan and Hillbilly Jim make the save.
“MEAN” GENE OKERLUND: “Last week, we saw a disgusting act when King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd threatened an injured Andre the Giant. Thankfully you were there prevent a tragedy. And now comes word that you will defend your World Wrestling Federation Championship against King Kong Bundy at Saturday Night’s Main Event. I have to believe this has become personal.”
HULK HOGAN: “WELL YOU KNOW SOMETHING “MEAN” GENE, those dastardly dudes Studd and Bundy sure must feel good about themselves! They cornered an injured giant, but they know deep in their hearts, man, that Andre is twice the man that either of them will ever be! Neither one could corner the Giant if he was at 100%, and soon, real soon, the Giant will be back in the squared circle.
“But Mean Gene, I’m standing by the Giant! I’m standing by Andre’s side, man. See because Andre The Giant has always stood with the Hulkamaniacs. The Hulkamaniacs love the Giant because he is the Hulkser’s best friend. King Kong Bundy, the Hulkamaiacs don’t kindly to you trying to hurt The Hulkster’s friends, dude!
“You may be big and tall, but you will NEVER be a Giant. John Studd will NEVER be a Giant, Mean Gene. There’s only one GIANT and his name is Andre. So King Kong Bundy, you can have your five counts and you can use that big mouth of yours to run me down all you want JACK, but the fact remains that you have to do something about it at Saturday Night’s Man Event.
“You’re standing in the ring with The Hulkster, trying to take my title. Not when I have the millions upon million of Hulkamaniacs and Andre The Giant behind me, brother! Not in a million years! King Kong Bundy – LOOK INTO MY EYES! And ask yourself this question – WHAT’CHA GONNA DO, BUNDY, WHEN THESE 24-INCH PYTHONS RUN WILD…. ON YOU?!?!?!?!?!?”

In the ring at this time, with their manager Luscious Johnny V, they are the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions. From Montreal, Canada, DINO BRAVO and from San Francisco, California, BRUTUS BEEFCAKE. They are, THE DREAM TEAM.
“Standing to my left, hailing from Calgary, Alberta Canada, BRET HART and JIM “THE ANVIL” NEIDHART, the…. HART FOUNDATION!!!!”
WWF SUPERTARS MATCH #4:
NON-TITLE BOUT
THE HART FOUNDATION VS. THE DREAM TEAM
Johnny V seems to be giving Brutus Beefcake the business before the match, as Dino Bravo stretches in the squared circle. Bravo manages to put on quite a display of action with Bret Hart, because remember this is still the 1985 Dino Bravo capable of actually wrestling.
Jimmy Hart once again makes his presence felt as he struts down the aisle and sets off his megaphone buzzer a few times. Hart makes his way around ringside and offers his hand to Johnny V, who shakes it. Hart smiles and it looks like they are discussing something, and Jimmy sets off the bleeping megaphone again. An annoyed Brutus Beefcake turns around and shouts at Hart to beat it. Jimmy starts jawing with Beefcake as Johnny V steps between them.
Bret Hart senses a moment here and he hurls Bravo directly into Beefcake, who flies off the apron right on top of Johnny V. Jimmy Hart backs up and takes off to the dressing room as Bret then rolls Dino Bravo into a backslide and gets the 1-2-3! The Hart Foundation score a major non-title win here, and you have to believe that they are now in contention for a title match. A commercial break was inserted in the middle of the match.
YOUR WINNERS: THE HART FOUNDATION
After the bout, Dino Bravo has to play peacemaker between Brutus Beefcake and their manager Johnny V. Vince McMahon remarks that things just haven’t been going well for the Dream Team since they were put together. Ventura adds that it’s a shame to see Brutus acting like this, because Johnny V’s advice led the team to the WWF Tag Team Titles!

Poor Frankie Williams doesn’t even get over his corner, before King Kong Bundy runs across the ring and crushes him in the corner with an Avalanche Splash! Williams just flops down to the canvas and Bundy covers Williams for the 1-2-3! Bundy the demands that referee Earl Hebner count to five. And hugely impressive win for King Kong Bundy in under 15 seconds! He certainly looks ready for his title bout with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan.

“But we have yet more news about Saturday Night’s Main Event here for you on WWF Update. I can confirm that one of the most dangerous men in the history of our sport has returned to the World Wrestling Federation. That man infamously broke the leg of an all-time great, Chief Jay Strongbow, several years ago here in the World Wrestling Federation.
“I am speaking of Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine. Mr. Valentine is a man known for his ruthlessness and his love of injuring his opponents as a point of personal pride. The Hillbillies and The Animal get quite an ovation from the fans, as they run through three tough opponents. Butcher Vachon gives George Steele some trouble, but The Animal manages to gouge his eyes and bites his forehead. Uncle Elmer the makes the tag to scoop slam and splash Butcher Vachon to score the win.

VTR: Footage from last week airs as King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd corner an injured Andre the Giant, before Hulk Hogan and Hillbilly Jim make the save.
“MEAN” GENE OKERLUND: “Last week, we saw a disgusting act when King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd threatened an injured Andre the Giant. Thankfully you were there prevent a tragedy. And now comes word that you will defend your World Wrestling Federation Championship against King Kong Bundy at Saturday Night’s Main Event. I have to believe this has become personal.”
HULK HOGAN: “WELL YOU KNOW SOMETHING “MEAN” GENE, those dastardly dudes Studd and Bundy sure must feel good about themselves! They cornered an injured giant, but they know deep in their hearts, man, that Andre is twice the man that either of them will ever be! Neither one could corner the Giant if he was at 100%, and soon, real soon, the Giant will be back in the squared circle.
“But Mean Gene, I’m standing by the Giant! I’m standing by Andre’s side, man. See because Andre The Giant has always stood with the Hulkamaniacs. The Hulkamaniacs love the Giant because he is the Hulkser’s best friend. King Kong Bundy, the Hulkamaiacs don’t kindly to you trying to hurt The Hulkster’s friends, dude!
“You may be big and tall, but you will NEVER be a Giant. John Studd will NEVER be a Giant, Mean Gene. There’s only one GIANT and his name is Andre. So King Kong Bundy, you can have your five counts and you can use that big mouth of yours to run me down all you want JACK, but the fact remains that you have to do something about it at Saturday Night’s Man Event.

THE HART FOUNDATION VS. THE DREAM TEAM
Johnny V seems to be giving Brutus Beefcake the business before the match, as Dino Bravo stretches in the squared circle. Bravo manages to put on quite a display of action with Bret Hart, because remember this is still the 1985 Dino Bravo capable of actually wrestling.
Jimmy Hart once again makes his presence felt as he struts down the aisle and sets off his megaphone buzzer a few times. Hart makes his way around ringside and offers his hand to Johnny V, who shakes it. Hart smiles and it looks like they are discussing something, and Jimmy sets off the bleeping megaphone again. An annoyed Brutus Beefcake turns around and shouts at Hart to beat it. Jimmy starts jawing with Beefcake as Johnny V steps between them.
Bret Hart senses a moment here and he hurls Bravo directly into Beefcake, who flies off the apron right on top of Johnny V. Jimmy Hart backs up and takes off to the dressing room as Bret then rolls Dino Bravo into a backslide and gets the 1-2-3! The Hart Foundation score a major non-title win here, and you have to believe that they are now in contention for a title match. A commercial break was inserted in the middle of the match.

After the bout, Dino Bravo has to play peacemaker between Brutus Beefcake and their manager Johnny V. Vince McMahon remarks that things just haven’t been going well for the Dream Team since they were put together. Ventura adds that it’s a shame to see Brutus acting like this, because Johnny V’s advice led the team to the WWF Tag Team Titles!
