Announcer: Lance Russell
Referees: Paul Neighbors & Jerry Calhoun.
-1- ”Wild” Bill Irwin pinned Billy Joe Travis at 9:11 with a running lariat.
-2- Terry Taylor pinned Dave “Fit” Finlay at 7:55 when he connected with the flying forearm smash known as the Five Arm.
-3- The Masked Superstar defeated Stan Lane at 8:45 by forcing him to submit to the Cobra Hold in a competitive match.
-4- ”Macho Man” Randy Savage and ”Leaping” Lanny Poffo (w/ Miss Elizabeth) defeated Devastation Incorporated: Killer Khan & Riki Choshu (w/ Scandor Akbar) at 14:11 when Savage connected with two flying elbow drops to score a pin on Killer Khan. Khan was a monster in this match, kicking out of several pin attempts and continuously cutting short any offense by Savage and Poffo. However, late in the match, a spot saw Savage come off the top rope with the double sledge on Khan, who wobbled around right into a moon-sault from Poffo! Macho Man scaled the top rope again for two flying elbow drops and made the pin as Poffo held off the hired gun Choshu.
INTERMISSION
-5- Ted Dibiase pinned Southern Heavyweight Champion Dutch Mantell at 21:04 by nefarious means to become the new champion. Dibiase started off by shaking hands with Dutch Mantell, and the two men wrestled a clean bout for most of the match. Dibiase used a brutal shoulder-breaker to try to get the pin, but Mantell kicked out. He also seemed to have victory in hand when he locked in the Figure Four. The Dutchman somehow managed to crawl towards the ropes and hooked the bottom rope to break the hold, leaving Dibiase flabbergasted. Moments later Dibiase appeared to accidentally hurl Mantell right into referee Jerry Calhoun, dazing both Mantell and the referee. At this point, Dibiase reached into his tights and pulled out a black glove. Mantell wobbled around and Dibiase decked him right in the face with the black glove! Down goes The Dutchman. Ted Dibiase then measured Dutch Mantell and connected with a fist drop with the black gloved hand. Tom Renesto is now out to try and revive the dazed Jerry Calhoun. Calhoun is out cold, so Renesto steps into the ring himself and counts the three when Dibiase has pinned Mantell! What has happened here? Tom Renesto raises Ted Dibiase’s hand and hands him the Southern Heavyweight Title. Dibiase smiles evilly as the fans boo and lets off one of his trademark cackles, while Eddie Marlin and Jerry Jarrett arrive on the scene to protest what has just happened. What does this mean for next week’s NWA Title match?
-6- CWA Heavyweight Champion Jerry “The King” Lawler, ”Wildfire” Tommy Rich and Jimmy Valiant defeated The First Family: Big Bubba Rogers, Koko B. Ware (w/ Jimmy Hart) and Bill Dundee when Lawler got the pin on Ware when he came off the second rope with a flying fist drop. This was quite a brawl, which saw Rich fighting with Rogers up the aisle, while Valiant brawled with Dundee on the floor. Lawler managed to block a brain-buster attempt by Koko and belted him with right hand and then an atomic drop. The pre-math stipulations said if Lawler was pinned, he’d lose the CWA Heavyweight Title. If Dundee and the First Family lost, Lawler and his partners would get five minutes in the ring with Jimmy Hart. The Mouth of the South tried to run away, but out came Jerry Jarrett, Sweet Sensation, Terry Taylor and Billy Joe Travis to block his way. Jimmy Valiant then grabbed a frightened Hart and threw hm into the ring!
-7- Jerry “The King” Lawler, Tommy Rich and Jimmy Valiant beat the heck out of Jimmy Hart in the five minute encounter, as a half of the locker-room arrived to ensure that the First Family could not save Jimmy Hart. Rich and Valiant got their licks in, but the final revenge was saved for Jerry Lawler. Lawler came off the top rope with a fist drop on the Mouth of the South. Lawler then pulled Hart up, hooked him and dropped his archenemy with a pile-driver! This is not an official match so that move is not illegal – so Lawler connects with a second pile-driver on Hart for good measure! Lawler then leads the crowd in chanting ‘Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey Goodbye’ as Jimmy Hart is loaded onto a stretcher by Big Bubba Rogers, Will Bill Irwin and the PYT Express and carted out of the Mid South Coliseum… seemingly for the very last time! The King gets his revenge on Jimmy Hart after five years of treachery on behalf of his former manager.
