Mr. Magnificent motions that he's putting him to sleep, Young is shot into the ropes... SLEEPERHOLD! We're told it was taught to him by the one and only Verne Gagne! Young tries to fight it, but in the end it's sweet dreams for "Sweet Brown Sugar"! Mr. Magnificent kicks off our coverage with a win! LET THE POSING COMMENCE! Here's the lovely WOMAN to raise her man's hand proudly in the air.

From The Hemisfair Arena In San Antonio, TX
Taped: 7/4/85
Air Date: 7/12/85
Host: Steve Stack (American language) & Rapido Rodriquez (Spanish language)
Guest Commentator: Doyle King
Steve Stack: " Here we are, home of the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA, where just about an hour or so ago a crowd nearing 16,000 just witnessed an end of an era as the one and only 'Super Sock' Jose Lothario wrestled his very last match, and what a fitting ending to a tremendous career. Steve Stack here with part 1 of what will be a two part special as we'll look back and some of those tremendous matches the fans in attendance were privileged to see, INCLUDING the big one, Jose Lothario stepping into this ring for the very last time against the 400 lbs monster, Voodoo Malumba! We ALREADY got our first look at Mr. Magnificent, debuting with a win over a very game Skip Young. Right NOW let's look back at another new comer here, Jimmy Powers as he steps foot in the ring against Tom Renesto Jr.! "
Jim Powers defeated Tom Renesto Jr. via pinfall off a power slam at 3:30.
Steve Stack: " That Jim Powers continues to impress, doesn't he? I'd say he's got a bright future ahead of him here in All Star, PERHAPS even a shot at a championship is just around the corner for the youngster. Fans we'll be back and when we return we've got some big time action as 'Iron' Mike Sharpe steps into the ring with crowd favorite, the undefeated WILD BULL AYALA! "
Commercial Break
We're back and it's to the introductions as Dr. Paul Christy riles the crowd up while "Canada's Greatest Athlete" Mike Sharpe backs him up with a battle cry. Ayala's got the crowd behind him here, posing with his chain before the match. The match itself is clipped heavily, kicking off with Ayala tossing Sharpe around like he's nothing as Doyle King marvels at the man's strength. Christy, who's taken to carrying a retractable cane with him as part of the act, is able to sneak in a shot to the throat with that very cane giving Sharpe a momentary advantage. Sharpe gets over confident however and actually tries to lock Ayala in his very own hold, the Full Nelson, BUT THE BULL BREAKS FREE SHOVING 'IRON' MIKE INTO CHRISTY who's set himself up on the apron! AYALA LOCKS IN THE FULL NELSON, AND THAT'S IT!! IRON MIKE CRIES UNCLE! Yet another member of the Christy camp falls to the Wild Bull!
Wild Bull Ayala defeated "Iron" Mike Sharpe w/ Dr. Paul Christy & Bunny Love via submission to the Full Nelson at 10:28 (6:16 shown).
And from there we're taken to a very special edition of: CHRISTY'S CORNER! Simple all together this time, with no Mark Nulty just Bunny Love holding the microphone for her man, the one and only: DR. PAUL CHRISTY.
Dr. Paul Christy: " Ladies and germs there is NO INTRODUCTION needed, no need to remind you people that I'm a man with three PHDs, that I'm a manger of champions, a master magician, and the owner of SEVERAL LUXURIOUS APARTMENTS... for today on the corner there is NO GUEST... HOWEVER there is a need for a reminder... you know BEFORE I started this journey here in Texas of guiding such fine you specimens as TUGGERY TAYLOR, IRON MIKE, and the mysterious HOOD to victory, I WAS A WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION WRESTLER... a man with victories in 27 different countries across 4 different continents. I THINK, no, no in fact I KNOW that this is something the people out there have forgotten all about. I'm NOT RETIRED, in fact I'm in the best shape of my life, I'm NO QUITTER like that no good MEXICAN'T Lothario... in fact, I'm A GO GETTER... and when USA All Star makes it's debut Thursday Night July the 24th in Pasadena at the Gilley's Rodeo I AM STEPPING FOOT INTO THAT RING against YOU WILD BULL AYALA! 'CAUSE sometimes you've gotta get your hands dirty, AND THIS THING between us has gone on and on, for way too long. I'm not scared, I'm not worried at all, I'm a WORLD CHAMPION WRESTLER. I became a WORLD champion by means that you will NEVER have... I've GOT GUTS... I'VE GOT HEART... and I've THE GREATEST POWER OF THEM ALL.... MIND CONTROL!"
Bunny smiles..
Dr. Paul Christy: " MIND CONTROL you ask? ALLOW me to demonstrate... IMAGINE in this hand a ball, GO ON... use your imagination here, see this... this ball I will toss it like so... NOW... watch it bounce... how does one catch an invisible ball??? MIND CONTROL! HAHA! MIND CONTROL! "
Christy BITES at the air, something is clearly in his mouth now as he proudly shows it off.... from the side of his mouth he shouts "MIND CONTROL" before reaching in to pull out the ball.... AND INSTEAD PULLS OUT SEVERAL MULTI-COLORED HANDKERCHIEFS!
Dr. Paul: "MEHAHAHA!! MIND CONTROL! I HAVE IT YOU DON'T! MIND CONTROL! I'VE GOT THE HEART FOR IT, YOU DON'T! MIND CONTROL! MEWHAHAHAHA!! MIND CONTROL!! MIND CONTROL! MIND CONTROL!!! MEWHOHAHAHAHAHA!"
Cut back to Steve Stack.
Steve Stack: "That's right wrestling fans, USA All Star Wrestling makes it's debut in it's NEW HOME in Pasadena at the Gilley's Rodeo Club Thursday Night July the 24th for a loaded Television taping featuring Paul Christy stepping into the ring with powerhouse Wild Bull Ayala, a number one contender to the United States title WILL be named, and in our main event, THIS MAN right here 'Bruiser' Bob Sweetan steps into the ring with the man who put a 25,000 dollar price on his head, 'Flamboyant' Eric Embry. "
Bob Sweetan: " 25,000 dollars. It was that very same 25,000 dollars that clouded my judgement and got me to team with Eric Embry, fitting that it's now on my head. BUT you know what, Eric Embry let's FORGET about that 25,000 dollars, because at the Gilley's YOU have the chance to STEP UP and be a man! You want to take me out? COME ON, give it your best shot July the 24th! No Salto, no Japanese hired goons, JUST ME AND YOU inside that ring! Mark my words right here, right now, go on and read the shirt.. MR. PILEDRIVER... Eric Embry I'm going to PILEDRIVE YOU STRAIGHT THRU THE MAT! "
Steve Stack: " Perhaps some comeuppance lies ahead for Eric Embry and the Pringel Dynasty. Fans we're taking a short break but when we return we'll be taken a look back at one of our big time main events as Lars Anderson puts his United States Championship on the line against 'Wild Fire' Tommy Rich!"
Commercial Break
Doyle King: " Doyle King here with one of the biggest names in our sport, 'Wild Fire' Tommy Rich. Tommy it's great to have you be a part of this spectacular event."
Tommy Rich: " Doyle it's great to be here man, now I don't get the chance to come on out to these parts enough, but I'm proud to be here and be a part of this big thing and challenge furr that there United States Championship."
Doyle King: " You'll be stepping in there with one of the baddest from one of the greatest wrestling family's, the defending champeen, Lars Anderson... "
Tommy Rich: " Lars is a tough cookie, I been in there with 'em before. Truth of it is, when it comes to Lars Anderson, you don't know what yer gonna get. He may come on out there and shake my hand, he may come on out there and sock me in the jaw, BUT ME? I'm ready for just 'bout anything Lars can throw at me. I ain't NEVER been no United States Champeen, and if Lars is gonna get down and dirty, 'ol WILEFURR is gonna give it right back! I'm FARRR'D UP Doyle, and I'm fixing to become a UNITED STATES CHAMPEEN!"
Doyle King: " Well best of luck to you Tommy, and I think I speak for everyone here when I say you'd make a FINE champ. "
And it's to Mark Nulty for our ring introductions!
"The Following contest is for the United States Heavyweight Championship and it is set for one fall with a 60 minute time limit! First in the corner to my right, the challenger, from Hendersonville, Tennessee weighing in tonight at 236 lbs, the one, the only... WILD FIIIIRRRREEE TOMMY RICH!"
Tommy soaks in some cheers.
"And his opponent, the champion, now residing in Honulu, Hawaii and weighing in tonight at 245 lbs, the original enforcer; LARRRSS ANDERSON!"
Mixed reaction for Mr. Anderson here.
Bell sounds and Lars wants a handshake, Tommy seems apprehensive at first but it's legit and we get no funny business. Lock up see's Tommy gain an early advantage with an arm drag as Lars smiles and nods as if to say "okay.. we'll see" Lock up again see's Lars score with a sideheadlock takedown only for Wild Fire to quickly counter to a headscissors. Lars is able to wiggle free within seconds and both men rise to their feet ready to lock up again. Tommy backs Anderson into the corner seconds later, clean break... NO LARS SNEAKS IN A RIGHT HAND TO THE JAW! Anderson shoots him into the ropes, wild clothesline is ducked by Rich who then rebounds off the ropes and connects with a cross body!

United States Heavyweight Champion: Lars Anderson retained over "Wildfire" Tommy Rich after countering a sunsetflip and using the ropes for leverage at 16:23.
Back to Stack in the now empty arena.
Steve Stack: " For the last few weeks we've wondered just what side of the fence our new United States Champion was going to fall on, but tonight unfortunately that was answered by the champ himself, my guest at this time, the man who cheated Tommy Rich out of that very title, the champion, Lars Anderson. "
Lars Anderson: " What's this fence business all about, BRAH? This isn't the home improvement business, this is the WRESTLING business, and I'm no saint, never said I was, never wanted to be.. I'm an ANDERSON, more importantly I'm a CHAMPION! It's not for the glitz, it's not for the glamore, I do what I do FOR THE MONEY Stack. And this right here, the United States Championship, THIS IS HOW I MAKE MY LIVING, defending this belt... each defense I make, the more money I make, and THAT my friend is what it's all about: MONEY! Making money by ANY MEANS NECESSARY! "
Steve Stack: " That may very well be the case, but come the 24th in Pasadena a NEW challenger will be named for that very title... "
Lars Anderson: " That's supposed to mean something to me, BRAH? That's the way this thing works, isn't it? The USA All Star officials set 'em up, I knock 'em down. GO ON ahead, send on the next one... and the one after that, they'll learn just as Tommy Rich learned here tonight, that the ENFORCER will stop at NOTHING to remain on top of the wrestling world!"
Steve Stack: " Fans we'll be back, when we return it's the big one, the final match of the legendary 'Super Sock' Jose Lothario!"
Commercial Break
I suppose I could give this a major right up, but at the end of the day it's a fat guy Vs. an old guy. I'll just make it real simple, the early going see's Jose in control for a bit after a missed avalanche in the corner from Voodoo. Lothario doesn't stay in control for very long as the busted up ribs come into play as he attempts to slam the 400lbs monster only for him to fall on top for a near fall. Lothario gets punished in a bearhug for a bit, but draws from the crowd to break free with an ear ringer. Malumba comes back with a big slam and TRIES a splash but MISSES! Lothario comes back with one of his trademark rights to the jaw, Hussian's on the apron and provides a distraction, but Malumba misses a charge and takes his own manager out. Lothario now with a right hand, and another, and another, THE BIG MAN WON'T GO DOWN.... SCOOP SLAM! TREMENDOUS POWER DISPLAY AS LOTHARIO BODY SLAMS THE 400 LBS MONSTER!
