ROSS: Welcome to Mid South Wrestling! I’m here with wrestling great and Mid South Wrestling President Cowboy Bill Watts! Today, you will see a Battle Royal with very strong implications for the Superdome Summer Spectacular on July 6!
WATTS: That’s right, Jim. The winner will receive a North American Title match with Fabulous Freebird Michael “PS” Hayes. Grizzly Smith has also signed a rematch from last week as Magnum TA will wrestle Kevin Sullivan’s Purple Haze, Mark Lewin!
ROSS: Former Championship Tag Team partners will go at it when Greg Gagne takes on Jerry Brisco! The One Man Gang who, along with Buddy Landel, left Tony Atlas and Hacksaw Butch Reed laid out last week, will wrestle here today. Mike George will wrestle and we’ll also see rising star Wendell Cooley in a one on one match today. Right now, I’m joined by the North American Champion Michael Hayes. In just a few minutes, you will find out who you will defend that North American Title belt your carrying against on July 6th at the Superdome and it could be one of your Freebird brothers!
HAYES: Jim Ross, my brothers are gonna do the right thing! They are gonna eliminate people like Chavo Guerrero and Giant Baba and Tony Atlas and leave me with a clear path on July 6th! You’re gonna see what Frebird Fantasia is all about and what it’s like to walk down Badstreet, USA!
ROSS: The ring is full, let’s get down to business!

ROSS: Well, I’m here with Michael Hayes and Cowboy Bill Watts. Terry Gordy is joining us and Bill Watts has a match contract for Mr. Gordy to sign!
HAYES: Terry, I want you to do the right thing by me and the Freebirds and tear that contract up!
GORDY :Mike, I’d never ask you to pass up an opportunity like this! Bill, do you have a pen I can use?
GORDY SIGNS THE CONTRACT! HAYES IS FUMING!
HAYES: It’s all about that Japan money, isn’t it? You’re selling me out after all I’ve done for you! I got you into this business in the Gulf Coast promotion. You were a teenage punk! Culkins didn’t want you! I had the body and the talent and the personality, but I said if my brother don’t get on, I ain’t comin! Same way in Memphis, Nashville, Mid South, Georgia, and World Class! Bamm Bamm, I been carrying your fat butt for years! Buddy jack, tell’im!
Buddy Roberts has come onto the set!
ROBERTS: Like I said last week, let’s not discuss Freebird business in public!
GORDY: I don’t think I got ANYTHING to discuss with this man!
GORDY STORMS OFF!
HAYES: Buddy, what am I supposed to do?
ROBERTS: You’ll figure it out, pal, you always do!
Roberts and Hayes leave together.
ROSS: This has become a very intense situation. There is an 800 number on your screen to order tickets for the Superdome Summer Spectacular. I think it just became a must see event if it wasn’t already!
COMMERCIAL
One Man Gang(w/Missy Hyatt) demolishes Rooster Griffin, pinning him after a huge splash.
ROSS: I’m joined at this time by Christopher Love and the Mid South Tag Team Champions, the Love Train (John Tatum & Randy Rose). Gentlemen, on July 6th at the Superdome Summer Spectacular, an unprecedented four team elimination match with the titles on the line!
LOVE: I can’t believe that they would put me and my amazingly wonderful team in this situation! Not just the Brisco Brothers, although that would be awful enough! Not just the Zambuie Express, although, that, too, would be awful enough! But Greg Gagne and that nasty mongrel of a wrestler, Mad Dog Vachon! It’s not fair, I tell you! Bill Watts and Grizzly Smith hate and despise me and my men! They are conspiring against us, I tell you! Well, boys, we ain’t going down without a fight! And it will be the toughest, most vicious fight you have ever seen, honey!
ROSS: Two of the men who the Love Train will face, Greg Gagne and Jerry Brisco will wrestle after these messages.
COMMERCIAL
Greg Gagne wrestles Jerry Brisco in a battle of former partners. It is a closely fought bout with several near falls. After about ten minutes of action, Christopher Love orders the Love Train to attack both men! Rose & Tatum are giving both competitors quite a beating and it looks for all the world like they are trying to eliminate them from the big four way elimination match! Jack Brisco hits the ring, carrying a chair and sends the Love Train flying from the ring. There is a staredown between Gagne and the Briscos afterwards.

Mike George wrestles Bill Ash. George gets the pin after a Russian leg sweep.
ROSS: I’m here with Magnum TA. Terry, last week, Kevin Sullivan and his men ganged up on you and gave you quite a beating! This week, you have a rematch with Purple haze.
MAGNUM: Jim, I have a World Title match coming up with Ric Flair. I should be giving that my full concentration! But I have to be looking out of the corner of my eye at all times for Kevin Sullivan. Sullivan is obsessed with ruining Dusty Rhodes, the man who took me under his wing and showed me how to be a success in this business and he thinks if he hurts me, he can hurt the American Dream! Sullivan, the Dream has told me all about you and how you operate! He also told me that if I needed him, he’s just a phone call and a plane ride away! Last week, I’ll admit that I was unprepared and outnumbered, but this week, I’ll be ready for whatever you goons throw at me! Purple Haze, I’m coming at you fist and fire! And as far as Ric Flair goes: Flair, I saw your interview last week and you were cocky and talking more about partying after the match than the match itself! That’s good, Nature Boy, be overconfident! Think about drinking and wild women! You might end up like a fly in a spider web on July 6th and I might walk out of the Superdome as the new World’s Heavyweight Champion!

Wendell Cooley takes on Chris Colt. Colt gives a good accounting before falling prey to Cooley’s bulldog. Ross & Watts put Cooley over as a rising star.
WATTS: I’m joined by Kevin Sullivan, “Purple Haze” Mark Lewin, & Lord Humongous. Kevin, Magnum TA sounds like he’s ready for your man this week!
SULLIVAN: HAZE! HAZE! Go on to the ring! Remember last night’s sweet torture as you were tied to the tree of woe by the lady of the third eye! Remember the agony and the ecstasy of the cosmic cookie! This magnum TA is merely a puppet of Virgil Runnells, the so called American Dream! BilL Watts, you have thrown a sheep among the wolves and lions! Young Terry Allen has deceived himself into thinking that he can crry the banner of the American Dream and that he can compete with Ric Flair! What a fool! TA, if we were capable of feeling pity, if we had not emptied ourselves of the vanity of flesh, we would feel sorry for you because you are such a pathetic shell of a man! After The Purple haze is through here today, there might not be anything left of TA for the nature Boy!Hahahahahahahahaha!
WATTS: Are you and Humongous planning on interfering like last week?
SULLIVAN: I will be at ringside and my conscious will commune with that of the Purple Haze as my being is possessed by Abbuda Dein. Interference? That is a term of one who is a slave to the petty and childish rules of a petty and childish system put in place by petty and childish men such as yourself. I have risen above such nonsense.
WATTS: Next week, I have an announcement about your involvement in the Superdome Summer Spectacular on July 6th. You might not like it!
SULLIVAN: So mote it be, Watts….(eyes roll back in head)
COMMERCIAL
In a rematch from last week, Magnum TA takes on “Purple Haze” Mark Lewin (w/Kevin Sullivan). Lewin controls much of the action, but magnum makes a comeback. Sullivan climbs on the apron to interfere, but eats a TA dropkick for his trouble! Lord Humongous comes to the ring and climbs onto the apron! Lewin tries to whip Magnum into Humongous…Reversal by TA! Lewin and Humongous collide! Lewin is knocked silly as his head collided with the hockey mask! Lewin is reeling and walks into the belly to belly from Magnum! Alfred Neeley will count! One..Two..Three! Magnum beats Purple Haze! Revenge for last week’s beating!
ROSS: What a great hour of wrestling and we have more great wrestling planned next week! We will hear from the Von Erichs! In Dallas, these guys are more popular than the Cowboys or even the Cowboys cheerleaders! Greg Gagne will take on John Tatum of the Love Train! Terry Gordy will face a solid opponent in Mr. Ebony! Magnum TA will wrestle Jerry Brisco! Three mebers of the Mantell Corporation, the Zambuie Express & Stan Hansen will lock up with Hacksaw Jim Duggan, hacksaw Butch Reed, & Tony “Mr. USA” Atlas! We will also see video presentations on World Champion Ric Flair and the great Mil Mascaras.
