Mercer, "Welcome to 'World Class Championship Wrestling'. We have a great show for you tonight. Chris Adams meets Steve Simpson in the American Heavyweight Title tournament. We have information about the 'Firecracker Spectacular', and to open the show, Rip Oliver and the Iron Sheik are in the ring."
Match #1
The Iron Sheik w/Rip Oliver vs. Mike Reed
The Sheik has the Persian clubs with him. Oliver takes the mic.
Oliver, “Look, the Iron Sheik is the only one, except for me, that do the club workout, but I’m a nice guy, so Reed, I’m going to give you a chance to make $500. If you can do the club workout for one minute, you can have the money.”
Oliver pulls an envelope out of his tights. Reed agrees and picks up the clubs. He is able to last about 10 seconds and he drops the clubs.
Oliver, “I told you!”
The Sheik attacks Reed. He uses his pointed toed boots to stomp and kick. He then goes into his series of suplexes and finally applies the camel clutch.
Winner-The Iron Sheik
Match #2
Lance Von Erich vs. El Diablo
The masked man from Mexico and the popular Von Erich cousin meet in this one. Diablo lives up to his name and goes to the illegal tactics early. He chokes away at Lance. Lance fights back and the crowd is behind him. He lands the flying bodypress for the win.
Winner-Lance Von Erich
Bill Mercer is seated in the studio.
Mercer, "Fans, America's birthday is fast approaching. We would like to have you finish the weekend with us at Reunion Arena. We know that the World Champion will be there. Ric Flair will defend the title against Kerry Von Erich. Not everyone agrees with that decision. We will talk with Gary Hart later in the program. We also know that the finals of the American Heavyweight Title tournament will be held that night. In the coming days, we will have more tournament matches, by July 7, we will have two wrestlers. They will meet for the American Heavyweight Title. We will also have an American Tag Team Title match. The Fantastics will take on the Nightmares. We will also have a Texas Title match. Let's see this video."
We see Adrian Street and Miss Linda standing outside of Neiman Marcus. They walk into the historic building. The camera follows them to the woman's department. They begin to browse through elegant dresses. A salesgirl approaches.
Salesgirl, "Welcome to Neiman Marcus. Those are beautiful dresses, but I think they are too big for your wife."
Street, "First of all, you blithering idiot, she is not my wife, and for your further edification, the dresses are not for her. Now slink off and help the peons in this wretched store. We are accustomed to shopping at Harrods, not a bargain basement like this. However, this is tne best we can find in Texas. Now Linda, after I beat that muscular Kevin Von Erich, and take the Texas Title, won't this be a marvelous gown to wear? What am I doing asking you, all the beautiful clothes you have were chosen by me. You have no taste! Kevin Von Erich, I will go to Reunion Arena, and I will take your title!"
Mercer, "There you have it, Kevin Von Erich meets Adrian Street on July 7. Don't take Street lightly."
Match #3
Brian Adias vs. Steve Regal
This should be an evenly matched contest. Both men trade holds and counter holds. Adias gets a two count with a rollup. Regal kicks out and gets a two count with an inside cradle. The match continues to be ebem until Adias uses an abdominal stretch for a submission.
Winner-Brian Adias
The Fantastics are with Marc Lowrance.
Lowrance, “With me are the American Tag Team Champions. Gentlemen, you will take on the NIghtmares at the ‘Firecracker Spectacular’. They are a team that can match your speed and quickness.”
Fulton, “We don’t take the Nightmares lightly They are a great team and they’ll be a challenge. The Texas fans have take to us and we don’t want to disappoint them. We are going to give it our best, and the Fantastics’ best is going to be good enough to win!”
Rogers, “The Nightmares have been all over the country and they’ve won titles in different parts of the country and they want ours, well Bobby and I are not going to let that happen!”

Non-Title Match
The Fantastics (American Tag Team Champions) vs. The Davidson Brothers
It’s quickness and wrestling ability against size and sheer meanness. The big bikers from California jump the Champions before the bell, and both Fantastics are in trouble. Referee Rick Hazzard gets things sorted out and it’s Rick Davidson against Bobby Fulton is still in trouble, but it doesn’t last long. Fulton rallies and tags in Rogers. Tommy continues the attack. John tags in, but has no more luck than his brother. Rogers uses a flying bodypress for the win.
Winners-The Fantastics
Marc Lowrance is with Chris Adams, Gary Hart and Sunshine.
Lowrance, “With me are Gary Hart, Sunshine and Chris Adams. Mr. Hart, your men didn’t get the title shot vs. Ric Flair, but now you have a chance at the American Heavyweight Title.”
Sunshine, “Let me get in here! Kerry Von Erich, you didn’t deserve a World Title shot, Chris did! Again the Von Erichs get what they want! Well, Chris is going to win the American Title and then we’ll be on top!”
Hart, “Sunshine is a little excited, but she’s right. I have filed a protest with the NWA, but JIm Crockett is in Fritz’s pocket, so I don’t expect much. I do expect Chris, or Gino, to win the American Heavyweight Title and then after Ricky flair beats Kerry, he’ll come looking for a title shot, and we’ll give him one, and then we’ll end his career.”
Adams, “Von Erich, go ahead and let Flair beat you. I’m going to win the American Title and them I’ll be on top and the World Champion will have to come to me.”
Lowrance, “Chris Adams has a tough challenge with Steve Simpson, next.”

American Heavyweight Championship Tournament
Chris Adams w/”Playboy” Gary Hart and Sunshine vs. Steve Simpson
The young man, from Africa, Steve Simpson, has a big opportunity tonight. He and referee David Manning wait in the ring. We hear,
Chris Adams, Gary Hart and Sunshine come to the ring. Sunshine puts the bad mouth on Simpson. She seems especially angry tonight. The bell rings and Simpson becomes a whirling Dervish. He flies around the ring and Adams doesn't know what hit him. He rolls out of the ring and confers with Hart and Sunshine. He returns and slows the pace of the match. Adams goes to mst wrestling. Simpson holds his own, but soon Adams takes over. He sets up Simpson for a superkick and gets the win.
Winner-Chris Adams
Bill Mercer closes the show.
Mercer, "Chris Adams moves on in the tournament. We will have another tournament match next week. We will also have more information about the 'Firecracker Spectacular', don't miss it!"
