-We go now to Channel 5 Studios here in Memphis to Lance Russell and Dave Brown-
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to “Championship Wrestling ‘85”. The show opens with VTR footage of Dutch Mantell beating One Man Gang to become the new Southern Champ and ending the big man’s winning streak. The fans cheer as The Dutchman makes his way out to studio and shakes hands with the fans around the ringside. Mantell has the title slung over his shoulder as he greets Lance and Dave, who congratulate him. Lance Russell tells Dutch that proved himself to be a dragon slayer last Monday by putting the massive One Man Gang down for the count and bringing the Southern Heavyweight Title back to the people of Memphis.
Dutch Mantell thanks Lance Russell, and says that he also thanks the people for being in his corner. The Dutchman puts over One Man Gang as one tough customer, but he promised that that he’d cut the monster down to size and that is exactly what he did. So now One Man Gang has a whole lot of wins in one column, and one big, fat loss. And the man who gave him that loss is The Dutchman! This Monday night, Lance reveals that Shoo Baby will be up on a pole in a rematch. Mantell says he is taking the match very seriously, and he will greatly enjoy getting to Shoo Baby and using it to extract a little more revenge on the One Man Gang.
1) Southern Heavyweight Champion Dutch Mantell pinned Roy Lee Welch at 5:56 with a hangman’s neck-breaker.
CWA Heavyweight Champion Bill Dundee is out at ringside, and tells Lance Russell that he wanted to speak to Jerry Lawler today to clear the air. Russell says that everyone in the back was aware that The King has a family commitment today and was pre-scheduled to have the day off well in advance. Dundee sighs, and answers that he doesn’t generally keep up with Lawler’s schedule. Lance Russell then reveals that this Monday night, it will be Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler. However, Bill Dundee will be the guest referee, and a lot of people have questions about whether Dundee will actually call this match down the middle.
Bill Dundee is annoyed by that statement, and again questions what exactly he has done wrong? Lance suggests that Dundee might in fact be in cahoots with Jake Roberts – although he is not directly accusing Bill of this. Dundee says Lance should know better, Lawler should know better and the people should know better! Dundee has been a victim of circumstance – there is no love lost between himself and The Snake. However, after the last few weeks, he isn’t exactly friends with “the Kingfish” either. Dundee says he will call it down the middle this Monday, and hopes that they knock each other out.

Terry Taylor joins Dave Brown as we come back from break, to discuss coming out to stop the Masked Superstar from interfering in the Southern Heavyweight Title match last week. Taylor tells Dave Brown that he wanted to see a definitive result, and clearly that wouldn’t have happened if the Masked Superstar stuck his nose in. Terry has made it clear that he wants to work his way into contention for that Southern Heavyweight Title, and he is looking forward to eventually facing off with either Dutch Mantell or the One Man Gang. The Masked Superstar makes his way out to the studio now with One Man Gang.
The masked man tells Terry Taylor that he hasn’t even been here two weeks yet, and he has already made the biggest mistake of his life. The Masked Superstar tells Dave Brown that a lot of people in CWA have learned what happens when you try to stand in the way of this massive One Man Gang. It looks like Terry Taylor will join the long list of victims, right along Dutch Mantell this Monday night. Taylor then challenges Masked Superstar to put his money where his mouth is and face him at the Mid South Coliseum. The Masked Superstar agrees to the match, and says that he will take delight in crushing Terry Taylor’s championship ambition.
2) Terry Taylor pinned David Oswalt at 5:10 with the flying forearm splash known as the Five Arm.
Lance Russell then shows footage of Southern Tag Team Champions Sweet Sensation being attacked last week by the returning Dave “Fit” Finlay and an unknown man. Finlay and this man make their way out to the studio now, and Finlay barks to Russell to “show some bloody respect” to his tag team partner Mark Rocco. Finlay says he has made a career in Europe of kicking the hell of every English pig put in front of him, but only this man Rocco has ever been able to give him a good fight. Rocco says he feels the same – he hates the Irish with every bone in his body, but has respect only for Finlay because he is as tough as they come. They only people they hate more than each other are "the bloody, stinking yanks", Finlay says.
Dave Finlay then tells Dave Brown that he left CWA months ago to team with Rocco in Europe, where they won numerous tournaments under the name The Wolverines. Finlay tells Brown that himself and Rocco are the most sadistic wrestlers in the sport, and that’s why it made him sick to see two pansies like Stan Lane and Shawn Michaels holding gold in Memphis. Finlay laughs about the beating that he and Rocco dished out to Sweet Sensation, and doesn’t hear the crowd roar as Lane and Michaels storm out and begin brawling all over the studio with The Wolverines. These four men brawl, until Eddie Marlin and various wrestlers come out and separate them as we go to break.

Potential CWA investor Ted Dibiase is out with Dave Brown as we come back from the commercial break. Brown recaps Ted’s story of using his inheritance to make a fortune, and his interest in investing in CWA. Dibiase corrects Brown and says that his deal to invest in CWA is a done deal – all that’s left are a few T’s to cross and I’s to dot. Dibiase tells Brown that there’s a lot to like about CWA, but he is hopeful that we can avoid studio-clearing brawls that we saw just before the break. Dibiase has some new ideas for the future of CWA, and he is looking forward to putting them into practice. Dave Brown asks for specific details, but Dibiase smiles and coyly says that the contract has not been signed yet! Ted then goes on to congratulate the new Southern Heavyweight Champion Dutch Mantell.
Ted Dibiase says that it was a major accomplishment to unseat the One Man Gang, and Dutch should be proud of becoming Southern Champion. Dibiase also advises Dutch to have eyes in the back of his head. Take it from Ted Dibiase – who has won numerous top titles around the NWA – everyone has their target on the champion. Dibiase closes by saying that he is looking forward to this Monday’s bout between Jake Roberts and Jerry Lawler. Hopefully, we can get to the bottom of where Bill Dundee actually stands. Dibiase shakes Dave Brown’s hand and then waves to the fans as we walks back to the dressing room.
3) The PYT Express: Koko B. Ware & Norvell Austin (w/ Jimmy Hart & Big Bubba Rogers) defeated The Nightmares: Ken Wayne & Danny Davis at 9:34 when Koko B. Ware connected with a flying dropkick on Danny Davis to score the pin-fall in a hotly contested TV bout.
Jimmy Hart leads the “new and improved” First Family over to the desk for an interview with Lance Russell. This Monday, it will be two singles matches as Koko B. Ware takes on Tommy Rich and Jimmy Valiant takes on "JYD" Norvell Austin. Koko B. Ware boasts about being the hottest prospect in the sport today – he’s not yesterday’s news like Tommy Rich! Koko wants to know how long Tommy Rich can coast on beating Harley Race on one lucky night about four years ago? Koko asks: “What have you done for us lately, Tommy?” Dave Brown answers that “lately” Tommy Rich sent Rick Rude packing, but Jimmy Hart tells Dave Brown to can it. Rick Rude is nowhere near the athlete that Koko B. Ware and Norvell Austin are – and that will be proven again this Monday night

Jake “The Snake” Roberts makes his first official studio appearance in weeks as we come back from break. Jake tells Lance Russell that he is clearly in Jerry Lawler’s head – and he has proven that again the last few weeks. The King is in a downward spiral, and that will only continue this Monday night. Roberts takes pleasure in denying Lawler everything he wants here in CWA. He already put the King on the shelf for three months, and he has cost him that precious CWA Heavyweight Title. This Monday, he puts the nail in the coffin when he beats Lawler right in the middle of the ring in front of “all these saps and simpletons” in the crowd.
Lance Russell then questions Jake directly on if he is in cahoots with CWA Heavyweight Champion Bill Dundee. Roberts just smiles, and says that it’s none of Lance Russell’s business. It’s none of these fans’ business. And it’s none of Jerry “The King” Lawler’s business. All that matters is that this Monday, Bill Dundee will count to three and show the world that Jake “The Snake” Roberts is better, smart and more vicious than the so-called King of Memphis. Lance goes to continue the interview, but The Snake smiles as he backs away and slides into the ring for our TV main event.
4) Jake “The Snake” Roberts pinned Charlie Cook at 7:02 when he connects with a knee lift followed by the dangerous DDT.
“Macho Man” Randy Savage, Miss Elizabeth and Lanny Poffo are out just before our final break. Savage’s shoulder is all taped up, but he tells Lance Russell that no injury will stop him from taking out his revenge on “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert for his dirty tricks. Nothing can stop the Madness from sweeping Memphis once again – not Eddie Gilbert and not his fireballs. Lance questions the wisdom of the duo accepting a No Holds Barred Match against “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and Rick Steiner for this Monday night at the Mid South Coliseum so soon after the Macho Man's injury.
Lanny Poffo tells Lance Russell that it might not be the smartest idea, but the match will happen this Monday. Lanny and his older brother will pull out all the stops to make sure that what happened last week on Championship Wrestling with the fireball looks like child's play. Randy Savage mentions that Eddie Gilbert is always bragging about running the Rock n’ Roll Express out of Memphis. Well this Monday, “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo have a surprise for Eddie Gilbert right out of their own matches with The Rock n’ Roll Express in the past. “OOOOOOOOOOOOH YEAH,” Savage bellows as he throws confetti in the air with his one good arm.
