-We go now to Channel 5 Studios here in Memphis to Lance Russell and Dave Brown-
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to “Championship Wrestling ‘85”. They announce that two huge matches will take place today, and in the main event it will be Southern Tag Team Champions Hotstuff International putting the gold on the line against Sweet Sensation for the first time ever! Plus, Billy Joe Travis takes on Phil Hickerson in a rematch from last week here on “Championship Wrestling ‘85”. And let’s not forget – “Macho Man” Randy Savage will make his return to CWA right here today. The brand new CWA Heavyweight Champion Bill “Superstar” Dundee makes his way out to discuss the controversy surrounding his match with Jerry “The King” Lawler last week. Dundee tells Lance and Dave that he has now seen the footage of Jake Roberts coming out of the crowd to attack “The Kingfish”, and that’s not how he wanted to win the belt. Now, he’s heard rumblings that Lawler wants him to simply hand the belt back, but Dundee says that the people don’t really want to see that happen either. The Superstar gets a mixed reaction to that, but the crowd soon start cheer as Jerry “The King” Lawler makes his way out to the studio.
Jerry Lawler tells Bill Dundee to stop trying to pull one over on these people because it’s very hard for him to believe that Dundee and The Snake are not in cahoots. Lawler says he tried to trust Dundee, but it seems to always end up with Bill double crossing him. Dundee is insulted and says he has done nothing but stand by The King’s side, and in fact he is the one who warned Jerry against bringing in Jake Roberts in the first place! Dundee tells Lawler that he has nothing but disgust for Jake Roberts, and he is frankly a little bit hurt that The King would question his motives. However, Bill Dundee says that he is a fair man. He would be happy to put the title on the line against Jerry Lawler this Monday night at the Mid South Coliseum. Lawler questions whether it’s just another trap to ensure that Roberts can attack him again.
Bill Dundee answers that he is so serious about this challenge that he is putting up his own money to hire extra security guards to stand in the crowd so Jake Roberts cannot try to make his way into the building again. Lawler seems a bit swayed by that, and says perhaps he rushed to judgment. The King will admit that this whole situation has got him a little crazy, but if Dundee will put the belt on the line this week, he will shake his hand right here right now. Bill Dundee says it’s a done deal and the two do in fact shake hands, as Lawler then swears that sometime, someway he will catch up with Jake “The Snake” Roberts as well to give him a bit of his own medicine.
1) CWA Heavyweight Champion Bill Dundee pinned Roy Lee Welch at 6:45 with a knee drop off the second rope. Dundee had the crowd in his favor during the match and shook hands with the fans after the match came to an end.
Lanny Poffo was out with Dave Brown after the match and said that he is excited for his brother “Macho Man” Randy Savage to return here today. He can confirm that Randy is on his way to the Channel 5 Studios right now, a declaration which elicits a lot of cheers. “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and Rick Steiner interrupt at this point, and Gilbert says that he heard Lanny shooting his mouth off about Hotstuff International last week. As far as Eddie Gilbert is concerned, he already cleaned the clocks of Poffo and his psychopath older brother about seven months ago. In fact, Eddie thinks that Randy Savage is too much of a coward to even show up here today.
Eddie Gilbert then gets right in Lanny Poffo’s face and says that although he and Rick Steiner have a title defense later on, they might like some practice by slapping the damn taste out of Poffo’s mouth. Poffo looks ready to go here, but now he is surrounded by Steiner and Gilbert. He takes steps backwards as Gilbert and Steiner approach, and then roles into the ring. Steiner and Gilbert roll in as well and they go to pounce on Poffo. Now there is a huge commotion and fans are cheering because look who charges out to the ring:
IT’S THE "MACHO MAN" RANDY SAVAGE!!!!
Randy Savage leaps up to the top rope and comes down on an unsuspecting Rick Steiner with a flying double sledge! Eddie Gilbert’s eyes bulge out of his head as he sees this, and then Lanny Poffo drills him with a big dropkick! The Macho Man has Eddie Gilbert by the hair now and just paint-brushes him with rights and lefts, until Rick Steiner reaches back into the ring and pulls Eddie out to the floor. Steiner and Gilbert rush back to the dressing room as Savage and Poffo stand tall in the ring. Lance Russell promises that he will speak to “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo after we come back from this short commercial break.

The crowd are still cheering as “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo are unrolling a long banner that reads “Macho Madness is back in Memphis!!”, while Lance Russell recaps what happened before the break. Randy Savage tells Lance Russell that he has been waiting seven long months get his revenge against the likes of Jimmy Hart and Eddie Gilbert for a long time now. Savage tells Lance that he is all healed up and he is back here in Memphis to bring the Macho Madness to each and every one of his fans! Savage says that Eddie Gilbert has run his mouth and brags that he ran the Rock n’ Roll Express out of Memphis. Well, Savage and Poffo are the ones who ran Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson off the first time, and they will do the exact same thing to Eddie Gilbert and Rick Steiner
Randy Savage then mentions that last week, his brother Lanny promised an extra special surprise for this week. Macho Man tells Lance that in his time away from CWA, he went out and found the one and only manager that can take his career to the next level. Not Jimmy Hart! Not Paul Ellering! Not J.J. Dillon! “Macho Man” Randy Savage would like to introduce the people of Memphis to his brand new manager – the brand new first lady of professional wrestling Miss Elizabeth! A gorgeous woman makes her way out to the studio and says in her very reserved way that Randy Savage is going to the top of the CWA. “Oooooooh yeah,” Savage bellows as he throws a handful of confetti in the air!
2) The Masked Mercenary pinned Charlie Cook at 5:20 with a swinging neck-breaker.
Dutch Mantell is out after the match to talk about his return to CWA after a few weeks on the shelf last Monday night, when he took down both the Masked Superstar and One Man Gang with Shoo Baby. The Dutchman tells Dave Brown that he might have been down for a few weeks there, but he was never out. This Monday night, he has another crack at that Southern Heavyweight Title held by the One Man Gang. Mantell lists all of the names of the men who have tried and failed to beat One Man Gang over the last six months. Tommy Rich, Bill Dundee, Austin Idol and King Kong Bundy have all fallen to One Man Gang. That's an illustrious group! Dutch even includes himself in that list, but now he is driven like he never has been before. This Monday night, Dutch Mantell vows to the great people of Memphis that he will have his hand raised and he will beat the Southern Heavyweight Champion!

A surprisingly chipper Jimmy Hart is out with Big Bubba Rogers as we come back, and Lance Russell points out that Rick Rude is not with them because he lost a Loser Leaves Town Match to Tommy Rich last week! Hart says not even “ole banana nose” Lance Russell can ruin his mood today because the First Family has been reborn! Lance chuckles and says Big Bubba Rogers is big and tough, but he hardly counts as being called “a family”. Hart tells Russell that Big Bubba could take out a whole family by himself, but that’s not what Jimmy want. The First Family is back, baby, and it is growing by the day! Jimmy then reveals that two former members are returning to the fold after touring the US for the last year. Hart then cues the music as music begins playing in the studio.
This brings out known other than the PYT Express – “JYD” Norvell Austin and Koko B. Ware! Koko tells Lance Russell that Memphis is never the same without him, but the PYT Express are back now and better than ever. They have gone out and won titles everywhere from Dallas, Texas to Miami, Florida, but now they are home to win championship gold in Memphis again! Koko says that as far as he is concerned, Sweet Sensation have been ripping him and Norvell off just like the Fabulous Ones ripped out of the PYT Express in the past. And those Nightmares? They look ridiculous in their stupid face paint.
However, this Monday night, the PYTs have Tommy Rich and Jimmy Valiant. That is a match that Koko is excited for because he wants to make an immediate impact by getting the 1-2-3 on two of Memphis’ favorite stars. Koko Ware and Norvell Austin are back - and Koko says the whole world can see that they look better than ever! Jimmy Hart cackles as he leads Big Bubba and the PYT Express back to the dressing room.
3) Phil Hickerson pinned Billy Joe Travis at 14:34 when he rolled Travis up with a handful of tights to steal a win. Hickerson yucked it up in the floor after the match, until Travis jumped out of the ring and chased him back to the dressing room.
The Masked Superstar and Southern Heavyweight Champion One Man Gang are out after the match. Masked Superstar tells Lance Russell that Dutch Mantell can talk very tough when he has that bullwhip in his hand, but he reminds Lance that One Man Gang beat Mantell the last time they were in the ring together. That is because One Man Gang is simply a superior athlete to Dutch Mantell. He is certain that Mantell will fall just like Austin Idol fell last week. All he asks is that the big man leave just enough of Dutch Mantell so that he can exact a little revenge of his own for that whip cracking last Monday night. Lance then asks how they were able to get Jake Roberts into the building last Monday, but the Masked Superstar says that he has no comment and ushers the Southern Heavyweight Champion away.

Eddie Marlin joins Lance Russell and Dave Brown after the match. Marlin confirms that Bill Dundee has indeed put up extra money for more security guards to be placed in the crowd this Monday night. Eddie is certain that Jake Roberts will not be coming through the crowd this Monday night at the Mid South Coliseum. Lance then questions Eddie about some rumblings a potential new investor to CWA. Marlin says that Lance is correct - he has some high-level meetings in the coming week. There’s a lot of interest in CWA because this is a promotion with some of the hottest action in the country. In fact, one person who has a quite a major reputation in professional wrestling will be meeting with him next Saturday. Lance asks who exactly Eddie Marlin is talking about, but Marlin says that he can’t disclose that information quite yet. But needless to say, it’s someone that every wrestling fan knows!
4) Sweet Sensation: Stan Lane & Shawn Michaels defeated Southern Tag Team Champions Hotstuff International: Eddie Gilbert & Rick Steiner at 12:34 when Stan Lane connected with the super kick on Eddie Gilbert to score the win for the championship gold. Gilbert and Steiner tried to use every dirty trick in the book, but late in the match Lanny Poffo, “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth made their way out to protest this. This caused Eddie Gilbert to begin yelling at them for a few seconds, before turning right into a super kick! Shawn Michaels dove across the ring with a cross-body block to wipe out Rick Steiner as Jerry Calhoun counted three!
Eddie Gilbert was furious after the match, as Sweet Sensation celebrated with the title belts. Randy Savage added insult to injury by throwing a handful of confetti in Eddie Gilbert’s face. Steiner held Gilbert back, as Savage, Poffo and Miss Elizabeth chuckled as they walked back to the dressing room. Eddie Gilbert stormed out to the desk and demanded that Eddie Marlin come out here and reverse the result of that match. Eddie Marlin made his way out as Lane and Michaels looked on, waiting to see if the result would stand.
CWA matchmaker Eddie Marlin told Eddie Gilbert that he would absolutely not reverse the result, especially since Savage and Poffo didn’t touch Steiner or Gilbert. And need he not remind Gilbert and Steiner were the ones that broke various rules during the course of that match. The result stands, and now this Monday, Sweet Sensation will defend their belts against the Nightmares! Gilbert is throwing a bit, and it only gets worse when Marlin reveals that “Hotstuff” will take on “Macho Man” Randy Savage one-on-one this Monday night! Gilbert flips out as the fans cheer. Steiner has to hold Gilbert back again so he doesn’t go after Eddie Marlin. Lance and Dave send us to our final break.
