Wild West Wrestling
Saturday, March 29th, 1985
Convention Center, Santa Fe, NM
*non-televised house show
1) The Breakdancers: Brickhouse Brown & 'Stylin' Mark Ragin defeated Jerry Oske & Johnny Wilhoit at 11:11 when Brown pinned Wilhoit after a double dropkick by 'the Dancers'. Brown and Ragin showed off some flashy moves both in and out of the ring on their way to victory as they avenge their loss to the same team the last time we were in Santa Fe.
2)Tommy Wright defeated Armand Rougeau at 9:18 when Wright bridged up out of a Rougeau pinning attempt and twisted around and turned it into a backslide for the fall. This was a clean, scientific match with both men giving it their all. In the end, Wright proved that he had 'what it takes' to gain a victory over a more seasoned opponent.
3)The Interns #1 & #2 (w/Tux Newman) defeated Billy Anderson & Scott McGhee at 15:01 when #2? pinned Anderson after an illegal switch behind the referee's back after a Newman distraction. Anderson and McGhee really had things going their way, but after the switch the masked man was quickly able to turn an Anderson body slam attempt into an inside cradle that caught Billy off guard. The masked man was just too fresh and really cinched in the hold to prevent Anderson from kicking out.
INTERMISSION
4) Deathstar #1 (w/Tux Newman) pinned Keith Eric at 3:10 when he pinned Eric following a 'Deathstar Bomb' off of the second rope in the corner. Newman was beside himself at the amount of carnage his new masked man was able to create in such a short period of time.
5)Magnum Force: Dave Peterson & Scott Hall defeated Rene Goulet & Duke Myers at 10:15 when Hall pinned Myers following a double flying shoulder tackle by 'the Force'. Hall and Peterson appear to be growing 'leaps and bounds' as a team and are learning a lot from the more experienced competition that they have been facing here in Wild West.
6) Harley Race, Davey Boy Smith, 'Cowboy' Scott Casey & George Wells defeated Jos LeDuc, Bret Hart, Jacques Rougeau & 'Wildman' Jack Armstrong at 20:15 when Smith pinned Armstrong with a running powerslam. Race and LeDuc were both 'captains' for their respective team and were allowed to 'draft' their team for tonight from the remaining participants in the upcoming WWW Heavyweight Title tournament. Rougeau didn't seem to thrilled to be on the same team as LeDuc as the two have had issues in other parts of the country in the past. After winning a coin flip, Race selected Davey Boy first, citing Smith's recent victory over him as the reason.
