The Rich Cousins and the Legionnaires once again went to battle and once again proved to be very evenly matched. The New Zealand Militant Jacko Victory really showed why a lot of pro wrestling insiders are high on him as he dominated Davey and Johnny at spurts, his teamwork with the veteran Boomer Lynch kept the Party Patrol in dire straits. The Rich’s were able to fight back into things and gas out the big South African and never let Jacko back into the ring, a Thesz Press from Johnny picked up a big victory for the Rich’s at 11’27.
Match 5
1 Fall 20 Minute Time Limit
Ref: Mac Murray
Brad Armstrong and the extremely talented Mr. Wrestling III put on a grappling clinic in the opening minutes of the contest with holds, counter holds, and reversals. The eldest of the Armstrong boys began to pick up the speed of contest and had III on the ropes, but the “Johnny Walker Black Belt” made the match more physical, delivering high impact blows preparing for the million dollar knee lift, but the quickness of Brad paid off as he caught the knee, spun around his man, planted him with the side Russian legsweep and he floats over for the 1…..2……3 at 14’14.

The Tonga Kid and Scott Armstrong vs. The Amazing Malenkos w/Prof. Malenko
TK and Josef tear into one another from the get go and the Kid gets caught in the wrong side of town. This is where Dean and Josef really display their abilities, the tandem work. In and out like a well oiled machine. But the man from the isle of Tonga battles his way out and makes the tag. Scotty flies around the ring hammering both Malenko’s and gets the crowd on their feet. But it isn’t long before Josef and Dean get Scotty in much the same position they had the Kid. Fortunately for Armstrong, TK wasn’t going to stand by and watch this beating, he charged the corner and even when he subdued the beating, he made it worse with the referee’s back turned. Jackknife cover from Dean!

©Checkmate w/Professor Boris Malenko vs. The Bullet
The Bullet has been one step ahead of Professor Malenko’s ultimate solution ever since he burst back onto the scene a couple of weeks ago, but the dominant Checkmate roughed it up with the Bullet and really took it to the popular, hooded hero in the early portions of the contest. The Professor’s cigar was seemingly puffing out hearts; he was so excited at ringside. Checkmate keeps working over the Bullet, but he can’t keep the man down. Bullet battles back and take s the fight to Checkmate, then to the floor, all around ringside, and back in before the countout! Now the Bullet is all faaared up and Checkmate is bouncing all over the ring! GEORGIA JAW JACKER!

Professor Malenko put’s Checkmate’s foot across the bottom rope! The Bullet saw it and has hold of Boris, but the Bullet made a rare mistake by taking his eyes off Checkmate who blasted Bullet in the back of the head. He grabs a waist lock and pops the hips, German Suplex! Checkmate drops a big elbow on the Bullet and then kicks him out underneath the bottom rope.
Checkmate places the Bullet up against the ringpost, he charges in, but Bullet ducks! Checkmate crashes into the ringpost and is on queer street! He rolls Checkmate back into the ring and is going for the kill, but the Professor grabs Bullet by the ankle, while he is in the grasp of the Bullet Malenko puts hurls a Communist object into the ring, and Checkmate is going for it! Atomic drop on Malenko by Bullet sends the Professor into the guard-rail, and Bullet hurries into the ring where Checkmate is waiting!
Bullet blocks the headbutt and boots Checkmate in the gut! Scoops him up; powerslam from the Bullet. Uh oh! Professor Malenko has the referee’s attention and the Bullet…… reaches into Checkmate’s mask???! HE PULLS OUT THE COMMUNIST OBJECT AND PUTS IT INSIDE HIS OWN MASK! BOOM! Bullet blasts Checkmate! Professor Malenko is having a conniption fit on the apron, BOOM! The Bullet blasts him as well, Bullet chucks the foreign object to the floor, and drops another big elbow down on Checkmate…

©Tom Prichard and Marty Jannetty, the Midnight Rebels
VS
Arn Anderson and Jerry Stubbs, the Perfection Connection w/the Tennessee Stud Ron Fuller
Lot’s of bad blood on the line in this one. Tommy’s ribs are heavily taped up and he looks to be in a tremendous amount of pain. Jerry Stubbs knee has extra padding and he is walking with a noticeable limp. Jannetty and Anderson start the contest out and do most of the in-ring action with their partners picking and choosing their spots. Marty and Arn are evenly matched in the wrestling department, but not so much in the aggression department as Double A is chock full of rowdy, and picks up several near falls.
First opportunity given, Prichard tags himself in and takes the fight directly to Double A. Prichard is hammering him down in the corner and then takes off after Stubbs as well! The adrenaline is pumping and Tommy is a house of fire, one stiff forearm shot to the ribs though took the wind right out of Prichard’s sails. Now it’s Anderson and Stubbs in full control and they smell the blood in the water. As the match progresses a blood stain grows larger and larger under the wrapping around Prichard’s ribs, but this only serves for Stubbs and Arn to turn the intensity up.
But the Perfection Connection is unable to keep Prichard down. And finally Marty got the tag and took it right to both Arn and Stubbs. Luckily for the Rebels, Stubbs was the legal man and Jannetty took right after the injured knee of Stubbs. If not for Arn’s interference, Stubbs very likely might’ve submitted to the Boston Crab, but Anderson blasted Jannetty in the back of the head, and rammed him shoulder first into the ringpost between the ropes, Prichard tagged himself in and went right after double A, but Stubbs, weary and battered, made it back to his feet and gave a running knee to the kidney of Prichard, both men hit the canvas in agony! Stubbs drags himself to the corner and tags in Anderson.
Double A lifts Prichard up for the Ghordbuster and SLAMS HIM DOWN ACROSS THE KNEE OF STUBBS! That’s how they bruised the lung of Prichard originally, Stubbs has made the ultimate sacrifice for his team and rolls to the floor clutching his knee, was it worth it?

Prichard comes after Arn but has no mustard on his shots, Anderson knees Prichard in the stomach and the champ curls up in agony, it’s like Arn is lifting dead weight but he gets Prichard all the way up, Ghordbuster!

©Austin Idol
VS
Jimmy Golden
There is no feeling out process here, Idol has on cowboy boots and his bandana, while Golden has a pair of work boots to match his gloved right hand, and they start firing away in the center of the ring. Idol takes advantage in the early going interchanging side headlock hip tosses and right hands. Ron West, only inside to stop the match for submission to count the 1, 2, 3, catches Golden napping for a count on a couple of occasions. Jimmy works his way to his knees, gets a handful of tights and begins burying the gloved right hands into the breadbasket of the Universal Heartthrob.
Now Golden has Idol on a knee and gives him a stiff cross face, and another, before grabbing hold of a snug chinlock. Golden tells West to stop asking him, Golden isn’t finished, yet as he BITES into the forehead of the Champ. Referee West just turns his head. Golden zeroes in on the forehead as he drives his elbow into the indention his teeth just made and he breaks the skin. Jimmy follows up with a couple more right hands and drops Idol in the center of the ring. He bounces off the ropes and hits a big knee drop to the chest.
Now he lifts the groggy champion back to his feet in the center of the ring and shows him to the audience, “look at your champion now!” Golden fires Idol across the ring and into the steel cage, the Boss bounces back and ends up face first in the mat. Golden picks him and again Idol tastes the steel. Golden’s confidence is at an all-time high as he misses a showboat kneedrop off the ropes.
With a burst of energy Austin Idol wraps up Golden’s bad knee, LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK! The champion was bloodied and battered, but not beaten and now has James Golden howling in agony. Golden refuses to quit, he grabs West by the shirt and tells him to get out of his face as the #1 Contender sits up and rakes the champion’s eyes! And for good measure as he buttscoots out of the bad position he sticks a thumb in the other eye!
Golden finds Austin’s bandana as Idol tries to rub his eyes back into focus, through the blood and poke, and now here comes the big has with the work boot to the gut and a forearm to the back of the neck, Golden takes Idol’s bandana, wraps it around his neck, and is choking the life out of the Boss! “Now you ask him West! Now you ask him! He’s finished!” Idol just rips and claws at the bandana, the grip, and then the eyes of Golden, he finally gets some space with a mule kick to the gut.
Golden jumps onto Idol’s back and grabs a sleep hold. Idol falls to one knee, he grabs the rope, but West can’t break the hold. The Heartthrob almost doubles over from the pressure being put on him, but grabs the middle rope with his other hand and scratches, claws his way back to his feet! Idol falls back into the corner, but can’t get Golden to break the hold.
Idol goes for the hail mary bomb, he turns and faces the corner and with a boot on the middle rope he fires backwards into the center of the ring landing himself down on the chest of Golden and finally breaks the hold. Both men are down in the center of the ring and the Garret Coliseum is rocking. Weary and groggy both men make it back to their feet and fire at one another, chop from Idol, forearm shiver from Golden. Idol bounces off the rope and pulls out a dropkick that sends Golden flying, the back of his head crashes into the steel cage, Idol catches him over his shoulder, runs him into the turnbuckle, it’s an Oklahoma Stampede?! Idol leaps up and crashes Jimmy Golden down in the center of the ring, driving his shoulder just underneath the sternum, driving all the wind out of him, Idol hooks the leg…

BUZZ SAWYER HAS SCALED THE CAGE! Sawyer gives a running knee to the back of Golden and sends him flying through the cage door, he manhandles referee West, takes the key from him before tossing him to the floor, slamming the door, and locking it shut. The Mad Dog laughs hysterically as he circles Idol, just as Idol starts to rise Sawyer grabs his chin, “know who you’re dealing with, boy?” And then boots the champ square in the face. This is appalling, Austin Idol just finished the title defense of his life and Buzz Sawyer is picking the carcass like a buzzard!
THE MAD DOG FLIES off the top rope and crashes down onto Idol laughing his ass off as Lou Thesz and other Continental officials, along with the referees and other wrestlers are trying to get into the cage, but Buzz Sawyer looks em in the eye and LAUNCHES THE KEY INTO THE STANDS laughing hysterically once again as he ascends to the top rope, then onto cage, and then up the cage, all the way to the top of the cage, Buzz Sawyer is practically in the rafters and THE MAD DOG FLIES AGAIN! Sawyer crashes down onto Idol. The impact of the blow was felt by Sawyer as well, but Buzz shakes it off, laughing his ass off he climbs back out of the cage and disappears as Thesz and the babyface wrestlers break their way into the cage and check on the champion…
