Fans THIS MONDAY IN MONTGOMERY promises to be one of the biggest cards in Southeastern Championship Wrestling history! The honorable Lou Thesz is here and will join us a bit later as he presents me with the entire card, to be announced in this hour. And that following last week’s fist fight between Austin Idol and Jimmy Golden during the face off, each man has been fined $1,000 and neither man is in Huntsville tonight as Continental Sports and the NWA want to ensure that heavily promoted main event goes off without a hitch, but what a main event we have in store for you great fans here today as the Bullet teams up with his, uhm, good friend Scott Armstrong and the Tonga Kid to take on Checkmate and the Malenko Brothers, with this Monday in Montgomery coming up in a little over 48 hours. TK and Scotty had better keep on the same page like last week vs the Legionnaires, because if not, the Amazing Malenko’s will finish them off! Right now it looks like the competitors are ready so let’s send it to ringside and Freddie Miller!
Match 1
1 Fall 15 Minute TV Time Limit
Ref: Mac Murray
Roy Lee Welch picked up a hard earned victory over the Italian Stallion after the Stallion seemingly had the contest wrapped up. But the experience and cunning of Welch really shined as he positioned the ref right where he wanted him, rolled Stallion up, grabbed the middle rope for additional leverage to pick up the pinfall at 7’02.
Match 2
1 Fall 15 Minute TV Time Limit
Ref: Bobby Simmons
The South African Assassin Boomer Lynch and the New Zealand Militant Jacko Victory, the Legionnaires got back on track against Jack Hart and Paul Diamond. Once they got their hands on them that is, which was quite the problem early. But after a bear hug slam by Boom on Diamond, the bombs away knee drop from the middle rope to the chest of Diamond was all she wrote at 6’16.
After the contest…
Southeastern Tag Team Champion and Midnight Rebel, Marty Jannetty joins Platt at the interview desk. He says that he has been here in Huntsville for a week on behalf of Continental Sports, and that he has had a great time. But he was watching the show last week and he saw what Stubbs and Anderson did to his partner. The cowards knew Marty was gone and that Tommy will jump head first into a hornet’s nest before backing down. And Marty wants to thank all the fans who called in, the secretaries for Mr. Welch weren’t too happy, but the Rebels certainly appreciated all the calls.
Tom’s ribs are bruised and some cartilage between them is torn, what’s really hampering is a possible bruised lung. The Emergency Room doctors are thinkin it, but Tommy won’t see the specialist until after this Monday In Montgomery. Tommy is hell bent on defending the straps in Montgomery and he is even more hell bent on hurting Arn Anderson and Jerry Stubbs, so Stud Stable, you got your wish, and we’ll see how you like it! Tonight in the Huntsville Main Event, Marty swears to even the playing field by making sure that Jerry Stubbs doesn’t enter the title match 100%!
Match 3
1 Fall 15 Minute TV Time Limit
Ref: Ron West
Brad Armstrong took on the young martial artist, Masa Tanaka, in a wildly entertaining opening 5 minutes of offensive minded action. Brad was then able to get behind Tanaka and devastate him with a backdrop suplex that he followed up with his patent Side Russian Leg Sweep at 5’44.
The former Champ wanted to quickly come out before the huge main event and talk about how excited he is for This Monday in Montgomery and before Platt runs down the entire card, let's take a special look at...

Checkmate and the Amazing Malenkos w/Prof. Boris Malenko VS the Bullet, the Tonga Kid, and Scott Armstrong
The main event starts off hot and heavy. We get a solid 3 to 4 minutes of action before the bell rings, and another minute or two of action before the referee is finally able to single out Dean and Scott Armstrong as the official legal men. After back and forth grappling and aesthetically appealing reversals, Malenko clubbers Scott in the back of the neck, stomps on him, and isolates him in the wrong part of town. The Malenkos and Checkmate operate like a well oiled machine, tagging in and out, manipulating the referee’s count as well as his positioning and have the youngest Armstrong in serious trouble! Until the Bullet and Tonga Kid had seen enough! They rush the ring and take the fight right to the opposite corner. It’s pandelerium!
Back from break and the match-up is back settled down. Tonga Kid is taking it to the Alabama Heavyweight Champion, Checkmate. TK and the Bullet tag in and out and give Checkmate a taste of the Malenko’s ring positioning medicine. TK picks up a near fall on the champ, before he tags in Scotty. During the exchange Checkmate thumbs Scotty in the eye and quickly makes the exchange with Josef. The eldest Malenko means business as he comes in and grinds on Scotty, working over his neck and back, stretching the youngster. Josef and Dean tag in and out, nearly finishing Scotty on several occasions but Armstrong keeps kicking out! Dean stalks his prey, but runs into a boot by Armstrong. And a big right hand follows it, Scotty leaps, standing dropkick floors Dean. Josef comes in on the chase, but doesn’t make it in time, SCOTTY TAGS IN THE BULLET!
The Bullet is a house of fire! Rights and lefts and clotheslines have the Commies bouncing around the ring like a batch of superballs! The Bullet sets Dean up for the Georgia Jaw Jacker, what is the Tonga Kid doing? IS HE LINING UP BULLET FOR THE SAVAGE SAVATE??!! The Bullet ducks and TK blasts the incoming Checkmate! What team work! Scotty comes flying across the ring and Josef on the floor! TK nails Checkmate with the Savage Savate and the Bullet drops a big leg drop down across Dean and gets the 1, 2, 3! The Tonga Kid, Scott Armstrong, and the Bullet pick up a hard earned victory at 12’51 and celebrate with the Von Braun Civic Center!

The Party Patrol, Johnny and Davey Rich, got back on track after an epic encounter with the Perfection Connection last week as they took on the rugged masked duo of Crimson Tide and the Flame. Tide and Flame used brawling techniques to keep the Rich’s at bay, but dueling Lou Thesz Presses picked up dueling pinfalls for the Rich Cousins at 11’15.

Arn Anderson w/Tennessee Stud Ron Fuller took on ‘White Lightning’ Tim Horner in an amazing contest that had the Huntsville crowd on the edge of the seats for the biggest part of the contest. Both men displayed the offensive style that has lead them and their teams to numerous victories, but couldn’t sustain an offensive advantage long enough to take their opponent out. The savvy of Double A proved to be the difference as rolled out of the way of Horner’s attempted top rope splash and quickly followed it up with the Ghrodbuster to pick up a hard fought victory at 26’13.

Marty Jannetty and Mr. Perfect Jerry Stubbs w/Tennessee Stud Ron Fuller picked up right where Double A and White Lightning left off in an all action, back and forth contest. Jannetty showed a real aggressive side that hasn’t really been on display since his arrival here in Southeastern. His work on Stubbs knee paid dividends, especially later in the contest. But Mr. Perfect is tougher than a two dollar steak and knows all the tricks so kept himself in the thick of this one. Marty’s consistent and aggressive attack on the knee of Stubbs; keeping the larger man grounded really paid off as a series of reversals followed by a dropkick to Stubbs’ knee cap led to an Oklahoma Roll-up victory for Jannetty at 20’40.
