Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart welcome everyone to the show. We are 12 days away from that Monday in Montgomery where Austin Idol and Jimmy Golden meet one more time for the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship, and right here on this telecast the champion and the #1 contender will be face to face with the Honorable Lou Thesz to discuss that match up, and from what we understand there is a big announcement regarding the title match. Right now let’s send it down to ringside and Freddie Miller…
Match 1

The Lightning Express defeated the tag team in High Demand, Jimmy Backlund and Randy Barber after Brad landed the side Russian leg sweep on the Ragin Bull at 6’44.
Match 2

One half of the Southeastern Tag Team Champions, Dr. Tom Prichard defeated El Gato Negro with a swinging neck breaker at 5’25.
After the contest, Dr. Tom made his way to the interview area and talked about Marty being in Huntsville taking care of some promotional activities for Continental Sports, and that it had been awhile since Prichard has had a singles match, so it felt good to get out there. Pritchard says that there are so many great teams in Southeastern that he isn’t quite sure who should be the #1 Contender, but he knows the Rebels will be in for a huge challenge on that Monday in Montgom…
Arn: Well, well, well. Good to see ya, champ. Couldn’t help but overhear ya, you and Jannetty have been saying everything and anything you could to the promoters to make sure Jerry Stubbs and myself don’t get that title shot Monday in Montgomery. Since you ain’t so sure who the #1 contenders are, let me fill you in on the worst kept secret in professional wrestling today. I am Arn Anderson. That is Jerry Stubbs. Not only are we absolutely Perfection Connection, but we just so happen to be the baddest tag team in the NWA today, so I'm not surprised that you want someone, anyone else to be across the ring from you in Montgomery.
Dr. Tom: You boys are a fine tag team, and if Continental Sports wants Marty and I to beat you guys one more time, we will do just that. But just so you boys know, there are a lot of top tag teams here in the Southeast, and this title belt right here means that Tom Prichard and Marty Jannetty, the Midnight Rebels just so happen to be the baddest tag team in wrestling today. We don't duck, we don't hide, we wrestle whoever the NWA and the promoters put in front of us so you fellas and Fuller need to take things up with Mr. Thesz and Mr. Welch.
Stubbs: Ya see Arn? I told ya. More double talk. See, here's what I think Tommy boy, I think that you and Mary should change your names from the Midnight Rebels to the Midnight Runners because that’s what ya been doin! Wait for the cover of night and then take of runnin from Stubbs and Anderson.
Tom Prichard gets face to face with Stubbs and says that the Midnight Rebels never run and they never hide. They’ve beaten Stubbs and Anderson more than once and are trying to prove that we are the greatest tag team in the World. BUT IF YOU THINK I'M YELLA, THEN WE CAN DO THIS RIGHT NOW MISS PERFECT!
That being said, Tom Prichard heads down to the ring! He is rallying the crowd, and calling for Stubbs. Arn and Jerry both hop up on the apron, Double A gestures that he will let this go down one on one. AND THERE THEY GO! Prichard and Stubbs are hammering away at each other! HERE COMES ANDERSON! Now it’s 2 on 1!!!! Dr. Tom Prichard is now bleeding like a stuck hog as Anderson raises him up for his Ghordbuster, and double A slams him down, ONTO THE KNEE OF STUBBS! GHORDBUSTER ACROSS THE KNEE OF STUBBS! PRICHARD IS IN A WORLD OF AGONY!
THE MAD DOG IS COMING
Fans, Tom Prichard was taken to the local emergency room to check on his ribs, sternum, and for internal bleeding. We will certainly pass along any information we get pertaining to him, and if not this week, Marty Jannetty will definitely be on hand next week in Huntsville with some more information. What an absolutely disgusting display from the former champions, Anderson and Stubbs, knowing full well that Jannetty was not here today. Well it looks like Freddie Miller and the contestants are ready, so let’s go to ringside for the next match…
Match 3
1 Fall 15 Minute TV Time Limit

Checkmate and the Amazing Malenko Brothers w/Prof. Boris Malenko defeated Frankie Lancaster, Jack Hart, and Paul Diamond after an absurd, hotly contested encounter once the grappling sensations subdued their athletic counterparts and Josef was able to lock in the Step-over Toe-hold Facelock, his Soviet STF on Jack Hart, giving the youngster no choice by to submit at 8’51.
Youz see what my boys can do. Ze vigilante called off last veek the 3 American slime we sent running avay. Ze vigilante is right, the royal Southeast family, the Armstrongs, zey are next on list. Scott and the savage have been issued warning, I mean challenge, that Monday on Mount Gomery, Dean and Josef vill snap ze broken branch of friendship. And ze vigilante, vell vell vell, it looks as if you’ve angered my ultimate solution. I wanted to make more moves on board Bullet, but I won’t even have my bishop’s cleared before my Checkmate puts……. You……. Down…… BWHAHAHAHAHA
Match 4
1 Fall 15 Minute TV Time Limit
Ref: Mac Murray
The Bullet defeated Roy Lee Welch after narrowly escaping the clutches of Checkmate and the Malenko’s who made a nuisance of themselves throughout the contest. Just as referee Murray sent them packing, the trio was met by SCOTT ARMSTRONG, TONGA KID, and BRAD ARMSTRONG! While they brawled to the back, Welch and the Bullet continued their battle, and the Georgia Jaw Jacker put Roy Lee away at 10’01.
The Honorable Six-time former World Heavyweight Champion and NWA representative Lou Thesz has joined Charlie Platt in a special set-up with a table and a pulpit set up; the two discuss the upcoming Monday in Montgomery card on 3/24

Now before we bring out both Champion and Challenger for this special face off, the Continental Sports production team put together quite the picture, we’d like to show the fans right now…

*************End Video*************
At the end of the video, both challenger and champion are seated across from one another at the table in front of Bro. Thesz’s pulpit. And never being at a loss for words, the Boss commends Jimmy Golden on being man enough to meet Idol, face to face, without Fuller or the Stud Stable. But that still ain’t man enough to take this here Southeastern Heavyweight strap from the Universal Heartthrob. Ya see, Jack, I’m what you would call the Total Package. I got the million dollar brain to match my million dollar body and that’s….
Golden: Hold on just a second there boy. I can admit you a decent enough athlete, but you ain’t got the smarts to keep that title from me Idol. That Monday in Montgomery will not only be the end of your title reign, but it will be the end of Austin Idol. A STEEL CAGE? You must be outside yo head boy.
Idol: You dadgum right the champ asked for a steel cage. Lots of friends tried to talk me out of it, but a Steel Cage gives the Boss a few guarantees. Like it guarantees that your pals, Fuller, Stubbs, and Anderson won’t be sneaking up on me, Jack, I’ll see em coming. And the biggest guarantee it gives me is that you won’t be able to get to the floor and regroup, catch your breath, shine Ron Fuller’s shoes, whatever it is you like doing when you take a break mid match.
Golden: Nawl, I wouldn’t spect you to know anything about strategy, but the only guarantee that steel cage gives you is that you won’t be walking out of Garrett Coliseum on your own two feet. I was always taking the title from you Idol, now with the steel cage involved, I’m taking your pride with me as well. I’ma beat ya up real bad, I’m going to embarrass you Austin Idol, and you can’t do a damned thing to stop me!
Golden slams his microphone down, but doesn’t stop running his mouth as he gets to his feet and throws his chair aside. The champ is playing it cool, still sitting…
Idol: Jimmy Golden, I’ve heard you call me ‘boy’ for the absolute last time, you understand that? (Idol does some flexing) I’m all man, and a yard wide.
JIMMY GOLDEN SLAPS THE HAT OFF AUSTIN IDOL, TAKES IDOL’S MICROPHONE FROM HIM!! “You still playin games with me, like………. Uh……. Little……. Bitty…….. Momma’s……. BOY!
AUSTIN IDOL FLIES ACROSS THE TABLE AND TACKLES GOLDEN!! Lefts and rights from the champ follow, but Golden rolls him over and starts raining down shots of his own, before Idol reverses once again. Golden finally gets to his feet, Idol is up to one knee, and JIMMY GOLDEN GOES COWBOY BOOT TO THE SKULL, BUT WAIT! Idol ducks it and Golden’s boot goes across the table, leaving Jimmy straddled and in a dangerous position! “I GOT YOUR BOY RIGHT HERE!” Shouts Idol as he blasts Golden across the table! Finally security and the other wrestlers make it to the scene and break it up. Golden and Idol are each trickling blood from the nose, pointing fingers, and trying their damndest to escape the clutches of their fellow wrestlers.

Crimson Tide defeated the War Eagle in dominant fashion after the Roll Tide Roll Up at 5’25.

Tonga Kid and Scott Armstrong are back at it once again, this week taking on Boomer Lynch and Jacko Victory, the Legionnaires. TK and Armstrong were very much on the same page in the early goings of this one. The youthful exuberance of Victory and savvy experience of Boom though proved to be a difficult riddle to solve. But TK’s Savage Savate kick to the face is a fight changer, regardless of opponent and really turned the tide back to his and Scotty’s advantage. Some great teamwork followed as TK tagged in Scotty and then took out the New Zealand Militant as Armstrong nailed the South African Assassin with his middle rope shoulder block for the pinfall at 16’36.

Johnny and Davey Rich, the Party Patrol, have put together a nice win/loss record since Davey’s return to Continental Sports, but that record has yet to be tested against the Tennessee Stud’s Perfection Connection, Arn Anderson and Jerry Stubbs. The Connection were riding high after taking out Tom Prichard earlier in the evening and their confidence was written all over their faces as they dominated the first 3/4s of the contest. The Rich family is famous for that fire that burns deep in their bellies, and Johnny and Davey were able to battle back. Johnny looked especially great, even picked up a near fall on Jerry Stubbs, but that proved to be his undoing as Stubbs and Anderson got Johnny in their corner, double teamed at every available opportunity, and Anderson did what he does after hitting the Ghordbuster, he got the 1, 2, 3 after a helluva tag team match at 24’56.
