Wild West Wrestling
Saturday, March 8, 1985
Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV
*non-televised house show
1) Jacques Rougeau, Armand Rougeau & 'Cowboy' Scott Casey defeated Scott McGhee, Billy Anderson & Tommy Wright at 14:09 when Casey pinned Wright following a running bulldog headlock out of the corner. All six men in this match proved that they can really go in the ring as there was a lot of solid scientific wrestling, mat work and tag team action as this one opened the show. In the end, the team of the Rougeaus & Casey seemed to be just a little more talented than their opposition and were able to pull out the victory. Both teams showed sportsmanship after the contest by recognizing each other and shaking hands.
2) The Breakdancers: Brickhouse Brown & 'Stylin' Mark Ragin defeated Rene Goulet & Duke Myers at 8:57 when Brown and Ragin caught Goulet with a double drop kick after a whip into the ropes. Brown and Ragin are now sporting matching outfits that are right out of 'Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo' and carrying 'boom boxes' to the ring to support their break dancing routine.
3) Bret Hart battled Davey Boy Smith to a 45:00 time limit draw in what was a very hard hitting and physical match up for both men. Both men let out 'all of the stops' here tonight as their rivalry continued, but neither man left satisfied with the draw. Both men know each other so well so this became a contest of hold and counter hold early and more physical with each man's growing frustration in not being able to put the other away. Hart twice avoided Smith's running power slam, once by grabbing the ropes and another time by shoving the running Smith off into the corner and following up with a rolling reverse cradle for a near fall. Smith too was able to avoid Hart's finisher as Bret set up for the pile driver with less than a minute remaining only to have Davey Boy counter with a back drop out of it in a 'last ditch' effort to save himself from certain defeat. From there both men ended up trading punches with each other as time expired and even beyond that as the referee had to step in and separate the two in order to inform them that the contest was over.

4) 'Wildman' Jack Armstrong pinned George Wells at 8:04 when Wells missed a flying shoulder tackle from the second rope and Armstrong quickly followed up with a running knee to the temple to set up the fall. This one was more or less a brawl that saw Armstrong gain a small measure of satisfaction as he finally put an end to the losing streak that he had been on. Both of these men are seasoned pros and someone the up-and-comers are going to have to go through if they want to make their mark here in the Wild West.
5) Magnum Force: Dave Peterson & Scott Hall defeated Jerry Oske & Johnny Wilhoit at 10:45 when Hall pinned Wilhoit following a flying double shoulder tackle by both Force members. This one was a little sloppy as these two duos are still right in the middle of their 'learning curve', but all four men worked hard and kept the match at a fast pace with a lot of hard hitting moves until Hall & Peterson were able to knock Oske from the ring and then deliver their finisher on the less experienced Wilhoit to get the fall.
6) Harley Race pinned Jos LeDuc at 10:18 of a 'Axe Handle On A Pole' match when Race used the object to knock his opponent unconscious. This one was a wild brawl, but not much of a match as both men were almost constantly attempting to get to the axe handle before their opponent was worn down enough to stop them. The ending was quite satisfying for Race, however, as LeDuc had originally gotten his 'prized possession' down from the corner post and attempted to hit Harley with it only to have Harley back body drop the big Canadian, which caused LeDuc to drop the axe handle. Race then recovered the object, wound up, took a big swing and knocked 'the Freight Train' into the middle of next week before belly flopping on top of his unconscious opponent for the fall.
