Platt and Stewart welcome everyone to another exciting edition of Southeastern Championship Wrestling and what a show we have today, and it doesn’t start off any bigger than with the champ!
BILLY JOEL’S YOU MAY BE RIGHT (Lunatic) blasts and the Southeastern Heavyweight Champion, The Boss Austin Idol makes his way out, stops by the desk real quick, he wants to let everyone know that after the taping he and the boys will be down at Jimmy Buffet’s bar wasting away in Margaritville and all the ladies, 18 to 28, are welcomed to take pictures with the Universal Heartthrob. Now watch the champ take care of bidness, Jack.
Match 1
Ref: Bobby Simmons
Southeastern Heavyweight Champion Austin Idol received a stiff test from the Ragin Bull Randy Barber in the early going as the ruffian took it to the former Las Vegas Golden Gloves champion. But Idol roared back and finished off the Bull with the Las Vegas Leglock at 6’29.
We return from break and the Boss is fixing his hair in front of the camera and tells Platt and Stewart how much he loves Hattiesburg, MS. And do you all know why Austin Idol loves Hattiesburg? Cause Hatty loves the Boss, daddy. It was right here in the Reed where Idol got his first 1,2,3 over that nasty Mr. Wrestling II and kicked off Idolmania throughout the Southeast, Jack.
The number 1 contender, Jimmy Golden, interrupts the champ and say that it is good to see Idol out here in rare form today. Talking a big game, looking real tough against Randy Barber, and as tough as the Ragin Bull is, he ain’t Jimmy Golden. And if Austin Idol were half the man he claims to be he would hand that strap over to Jimmy right now because we all know that Golden is the better man. He proved it Birmingham, hell he proves it each and every week on TV!
Idol hands Platt the Southeastern Championship, takes the microphone, and asks him to step back. Idol invades Jimmy Golden’s personal space and says that he thinks Golden’s panties are all bunched up because the Boss outsmarted him in Birmingham when the deck was clearly stacked against the Champ. That is exactly why Austin Idol is every man’s regret, because he has the million dollar mind. And tonight at Jimmy Buffet’s place all the ladies will find out why…
JIMMY GOLDEN BLASTS AUSTIN IDOL IN THE JAW!!! Golden screams at Idol, “YOU THINK I’M PLAYIN’ GAMES BOY?!” Golden puts his boot upside Idol’s head. The Tennessee Stud corrals his cousin and leads him to the ring where his opponent is waiting and personnel checks on Idol, fans we’ll be right back with the #1 Contender in action, don’t you dare go away!
Match 2
Ref: Ron West
Jimmy Golden w/Tennessee Stud locks horns with the grizzled vet and former Junior Heavyweight Champion of the World, Nelson Royal. Royal proves to be more than a handful as he takes to grappling with Golden who comes into the ring with his adrenaline pumping hard from his fight with Idol. And as Golden starts to get into grappling mode, Nellie starts striking with forearms and elbows. A well timed duck and escape from Golden gets him behind Royal where a big clothesline to the back of his head really changes the complexion of the contest.
Wait just a minute! HERE COMES AUSTIN IDOL TO RINGSIDE!!! Golden and Idol start bickering once again, Royal comes up behind Golden, victory roll, 1………2………………3!! NELSON ROYAL HAS PINNED JIMMY GOLDEN at 8’44!!!
Golden and Fuller are incredulous! No sooner than Golden could start yelling at the referee Austin Idol has him. Golden and Idol are throwing down in the center of the ring and the Reed Green Coliseum is coming unglued. Idol does his best Ali Shuffle as Charlie Platt does his best Howard Cosell, “DOWN GOES GOLDEN, DOWN GOES GOLDEN!” And the Tennessee Stud sneaks in behind the Boss, but Idol turns and catches him! Austin has Fuller by the collar and he is asking Hattiesburg if he should give it to him! Wait just a minute!
Arn Anderson and Jerry Stubbs, the Perfection Connection have hit the ring and take Idol down. Ghordbuster from Anderson has Idol right where the Stud Stable wants him and now Golden is back to his feet laying right hands into the face of Idol as Stubbs and Anderson hold him in place. Finally the babyface locker room clears out and Golden, Stubbs, Anderson, and Fuller retreat, but their damage has been done. Golden has Idol’s blood all over his fist and smiles deviously as we head to break.
Match 3

The Tonga Kid defeats El Gato Negro by pinfall after blasting the masked man with the Savage Savate kick at 5’25
After the contest TK joins Platt and Stewart who ask him about recent miscommunications with Scott Armstrong, but before TK could even answer, Scotty had made his way to the interview desk and says he is pretty interested in hearing from TK himself. Armstrong says he has been calling Kid all week and he doesn’t return his calls, what’s up?
TK says that what’s up is Scott’s head up the Rich’s butts! In Birmingham the Tonga Kid had the Alabama Heavyweight Championship won, if only Scotty had been watching his back and kept that Malenko out of his way. No Scotty. And just when TK thought that Scotty might be smarting from a tough match, he sees Armstrong out saving his beloved Party Patrol. But that’s cool, it isn’t any different than when TK was hot on the trail of Mr. Wrestling II, kicking his butt across Alabama and getting robbed of the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship that somehow ended up around the waist of Austin Idol.
Scott says he can totally understand Kid’s frustrations, but that TK is venting at the wrong people. Sure it’s been great to see Davey again, and that Johnny is as happy as he could be, but that don’t change Scott and TK’s friendship. Scott asks for the chance to make things up to TK, and that is a much better friend than Scott has been himself because he knows Kid will be watching his back during his Alabama Heavyweight Championship match tonight. TK and Scott give each other a high five and head to the back together.

The Lightning Express and Amazing Malenko Brothers have quickly developed quite the competitive rivalry and this contest is another in a growing list of quality encounters between the athletes. Nothing is settled as the four men battle through a final commercial break and really tears the house down. As we approach the end of the program Horner hits Dean with his top rope dropkick, but Josef has Brad locked in the STF. Horner and Josef end up battling down to the floor, this one ends in a TV Time Limit Draw after 16’22 of action.

1 Fall 30 Minute Time Limit

Johnny and Davey Rich, the Party Patrol battled the South African Assassin Boomer Lynch and the New Zealand Militant Jacko Victory, the Legionnaires in a tough back and forth match up that saw both teams show why the Southeastern Tag Teams are the talk of the Wrestling World. Lynch and Victory stole the biggest win of their time together after Davey had Lynch pinned but the ref was tied up with Johnny and Victory dropped a big knee across the back of Davey’s head and rolled his partner on top to pick up the pinfall victory at 12’44.
Semi-Final
1 Fall 30 Minute Time Limit
Ref: Ron West
Arn Anderson w/Tennessee Stud went one on one with rugged veteran, and former Alabama Heavyweight Champion, Jerry Oates. Oates held his own in the early going, but the young stud in Fuller’s stable proved to be more than ready to dominate the track as Anderson kicked it into another gear as the match wore on. And once double A cinches you up and plants you down face first with the Ghordbuster, that’s all she wrote, and he finishes Oates at 19’19.

Checkmate w/Professor Malenko defended against Scott Armstrong in a back and forth encounter that nearly saw a new champion crowned on multiple occasions. And just as he promised earlier, the Tonga Kid was right there to watch Scotty’s back when the Professor called out his hound, Dean, for assistance. As TK and Dean kept a close eye on one another, Boris slid something in to Checkmate, and as TK tried to warn the referee he got jerked off the apron by Dean. Savage Savate drops Deano machine and Tonga Kid hops right back up to the apron. As Scott questions TK, the Kid shoves him to the mat, and takes a Loaded Headbutt from Checkmate! Armstrong goes to check on TK, but Checkmate waistlocks him, pops the hips, German Suplex and a perfect bridge picks up the pinfall victory at 23’00.
