TERRY GORDY DEF. BOB ORTON, JR
ANDRE THE GIANT DEF. MANTELL; MANTELL CORPORATION ATTACKS ANDRE BUT HACKSAW AND JYD SAVE ANDRE!
TV TITLE: BUDDY ROBERTS DEF. ERNIE LADD VIA DQ WHEN TERRY GORDY BRINGS BRASS KNUX TO ROBERTS, BUT ERNIE INTERCEPTS THEN GETS CAUGHT WITH THEM BY THE REF
Ladd does a promo announcing he’s signed a series of matches around Mid South for the TV title, and is gonna get Roberts, and wants a piece of Terry Gordy as well.
STAN HANSEN DEF. AL PEREZ
Jim Ross announces that managers from all over the world are bidding Hansen’s services. Where will he sign? We shall find out in the weeks to come.
FEB 7, 1985
NORTH AMERICAN TITLE: MICHAEL HAYES DEF. MASKED SUPERSTAR AFTER A VENGEFUL BOB ORTON JR ATTACKS SUPERSTAR AT RINGSIDE!
After the match, an angered Masked Superstar does a promo and promises revenge on Bob Orton and demands a match!
MID SOUTH TAG TEAM TITLES: JYD + HACKSAW DEF. ANGELO MOSCA + KILLER KHAN FOLLOWED BY “THE TURN”
In a post match interview with Joel Watts, Junkyard Dog is with Ken Mantell, holds up the broken 2x4 and says he knew Hacksaw Duggan had it in for him all along. JYD says Hacksaw has always been jealous of his success, and was resentful of playing second banana in Mid-South Wrestling. Junkyard Dog thanks Ken Mantell for showing him the light, freeing him from Bill Watts, and promises he will get revenge on Hacksaw in the ring for his betrayal! Asked about the tag team title belts, JYD says there is no way in hell he will ever team with Duggan again because he cannot be trusted.
FEB 14, 1985
HAYES V SUPERSTAR, HAYES COMMENTARY. Michael Hayes does play by play in his words, puts himself over as a great brawler, but pays respect to Masked Superstar. When Orton comes in to cost Superstar the title, Hayes says he plotted it all along----Ken Mantell demanded a title match so to sue for peace between the Freebirds and Mantell, Hayes gave it to him provided that Mantell bypass BOB ORTON JR FOR MASKED SUPERSTAR, KNOWING Orton’s jealousy would get the better of him, and cost Superstar the match.
Bob Orton Jr is interviewed by Joel Watts. Orton said that the Mantell Corporation is falling apart, Killer Khan has left town, Angelo Mosca is not happy with losing the tag team titles, and he is going to help bring it down brick by brick. He said the Masked Superstar will pay for putting his hands on him, and helping fire him on national TV, and gladly accepts a match for Tulsa on March 15!
SOONER STATES RULES MATCH: BUDDY LANDELL DEF. BOB BACKLUND WITH A DANNY HODGE REF BUMP THEN A VERY CONTROVERSIAL ONE COUNT V THREE COUNT FINISH . . . THEN BUDDY GETS MORE THAN HE BARGAINED FOR AFTER SLAPPING HODGE!
In a post match interview, Bob Backlund said he is disgusted with wrestling and what it has become, and tonight is the final straw. HE IS RETIRING!
Jim Ross announces Backlund's retirement, and expects an in-ring ceremony honoring Bobs career in a few weeks right here on Mid South Wrestling!
JOEL interviews Buddy Landell. He is very proud of himself for showing he is a true “scientific “ wrestler. But he is very displeased with Danny Hodge, and demands a match with the “old man” March 15 in Tulsa!

FEB 22, 1985
DOG/HACKSAW V MANTELL CORPORATION, HACKSAW COMMENTARY
HACKSAW DUGGAN says he has a copy of the tape from WrestleBowl, and wants to show it to Junkyard Dog so he understands that he didn’t hit him with the 2x4. He said he has been trying to call JYD over and over again because he still wants to tag with him, blaming all this on a misunderstanding construed by Ken Mantell, and also because if they don’t defend the belts, they lose the title due to the 30-day rule. Jim Ross announces that if JYD and Hacksaw DON’T defend the titles by Feb 25, 1985, the titles will be vacated and a resolution will be announced by Mid-South wrestling when they resume TV taping episodes on March 1.
As for that tag team match, JIM ROSS announces that as alluded to by Bob Orton’s comments last week, word on the street is Angelo Mosca is NOT happy and blames Ken Mantell for costing him and Killer Khan the tag team titles at WrestleBowl. Khan has also left the Mantell Corporation, and it’s unclear why but speculation is he is not happy as well. It appears that while for the time being, Junkyard Dog is now under Mantell’s spell, what will happen when he sees the footage of what happened at WrestleBowl, and who will be left in the Mantell Corporation to save Ken Mantell’s hide when Junkyard Dog discovers he has been deceived?
