David Crockett: It’s the National Wrestling Alliance on The Superstation! Welcome to World Championship Wrestling!! I’m David Crockett and I am with Tony Schiavone and Tony!!!! WE HAVE NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!
Tony Schiavone: That we do David! The Youngbloods were victorious in their cage match with Ivan Koloff and Don Kernodle in their final shot at the Titles, but the feud isn’t over, because Ivan has filed the paperwork for the rematch that was in the contract for the cage match and he and Don Kerndole will get their rematch ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT IN GREENSBORO!! STARRCADE ’84!!!
David: And that isn’t the only new title match that has been signed for Starrcade ’84! After the United States Champion Manny Fernandez and “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff fought to a double count out, Manny went straight to the back and wanted to do it again, so at Starrcade The Bull will meet the Nightmare for a second time with the United States Title on the line!
Tony: Those two matches have been added to a card that already featured Wahoo McDaniels taking on Ricky Steamboat in a Leather Strap Match and the Television Champion Tully Blanchard challenging “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Championship!
David: And Tony, after what happened at Battle Bowl ’84, both guys are itching to get back in the ring with each other.
Tony: We’ll talk about that in detail later today! Also on the program, we will speak with the new World Tag Team Champions! Dick Slater makes his return to NWA Television, and our main event, Johnny Weaver faces the man who won the Battle Royal at Battle Bowl ’84, the Legend, Johnny Weaver!
Paul Jones, flanked by Boyd and Morgan, interrupt the program.
Paul Jones: Did I hear right, did I hear you say that the liar, THE CHEAT, Dick Slater will be here today?
Tony: Yes he will be.
Paul Jones: After what he did to me at Battle Bowl, after looking me in the eye, shaking my hand and then stabbing me in the back, he is going to show up here today? Well we’ll just see about that. Dick Slater, you crossed the wrong man!!
Tony: Strong words from Paul Jones, let’s go to the ring!
Larry Hamilton is standing in the ring when “Beat It” starts to play and out comes the United States Champion! The Ragin Bull Manny Fernandez!
UNITED STATES CHAMPION “THE RAGIN BULL” MANNY FERNANDEZ DEFEATS LARRY HAMILTON WITH A LARIAT
Tony: “The Ragin Bull” with another win as he heads to Starrcade 84 to face Nikita Koloff for a second time!
Manny: You see that Nikita Koloff? You got your Russian Sickle? Well Daddy, that right there is the American Lariat, it was taught to me by the Bad Man from Borger, Stan Hansen! And at Starrcade baby, you gonna get to see it up close and personal!!! Nikita Koloff!! Starrcade is coming daddy, and The Bull is coming for YOU!!!

Back from the break and a very upset Jimmy Garvin and Precious are with David.
David: I have been joined by Jimmy Garvin and Precious. And Jimmy, (big smile comes across David’s face) how was the party.
Jimmy Garvin: OH HO HO, OH HA HA!! Aren’t you just funny David Crockett, aren’t you just a RIOT!!! The party didn’t happen, it was ruined by that runt bean pole, Sam Houston!! I mean can you believe it? Can you believe SAM HOUSTON eliminated me? CAN YOU??? BECAUSE I CAN’T!!! And it’s not my fault!!! No it’s not, you see David Crockett, I was DISTRACTED!!! I was distracted because this big, fat, ugly, toothless woman was in the front row BLOWING KISSES AT ME!!! When I saw that, Squeeze when I saw that I just got so sick to my stomach, I started to gag I felt like I was going to throw up everywhere and then that punk took advantage of me and threw me out of the ring, robbing all my good friends of the great party we were going to have! I flew lobsters in from Maine!! Caviar for France!!! And we threw all of it away!! AND IT’S ALL SAM HOUSTON’S FAULT!!! If I don’t ever have to see that punk again it will be too soon!!!!
David (completely loving this): Well, you are going to see him allot sooner than you think.
Jimmy Garvin: What are you talking about David Crockett? Huh? Why are you smiling so much? WHY? You look stupider than you normally do!!!
David: Because, because Jimmy Garvin you signed an open contract for Starrcade ’84.
Jimmy Garvin: Yeah? SO WHAT? Of course I signed an open contract, it wasn’t like I was expecting your idiot brother to put me in a match, he has been doing everything he can to keep me and Squeeze out of things since we got here, so of course I signed an open contract. Jeez, Squeeze, this guy just ain’t too bright!!
David: Well, all an open contract needs to be official is to have someone else sign it.
Jimmy Garvin: Well DUUUUUUUUUH!!! Is there a point to all this David Crockett? You are boring Squeeze!!!
David: Well, I have that open contract right here Jimmy Garvin, and you can see here, it has been signed.

Garvin studies the contract and then sees the name signed to face him.

Jay: Thank you Tony, and we just want to come out here and say thank you, thank you to our friends like Ricky Steamboat, Manny Fernandez, Jimmy Valiant, Ric Flair, for standing by us, for encouraging us and or telling us we could get it done. And most of all we want to say a BIG thank you to all the fans, for everything they have done to cheer us along, the cards, the letters, the pats on the back, we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you!!
Mark: And a big thank you to our dad RICKY ROMERO!!! Dad, you trained us, you taught us to never give up, AND THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!!!

Tony: Well I don’t mean to stop the celebration, but before we came on air we were informed that Ivan Koloff had exercised their rematch clause, and you would have to defend the titles against them at Starrcade.

DICK SLATER DEFEATS BILL WHITE WITH A NECKBREAKER
David: Alright, I am joined by “Mr. Unpredictable” himself, Dick Slater.
Dick Slater: “Mr. Unpredictable” is that what they call me? Is that what you call me, well it’s right. Because sometime I don’t even know what I am going to do. One thing I know I wanted to do, was come back here to the NWA, come back to wrestle the best. You know I came up a little short earlier in the year for the World Title, but I am not done chasing it, not by a longshot, I went home, I recharged, I prepared and now I’m back.
Paul Jones appears for a second time in the show, once again flanked by Morgan and Boyd!
Paul Jones: Now just a minute Dick Slater, JUST A MINUTE!! We have an issue to discuss, a problem that you caused when you STABBED ME IN THE BACK!!!
Dick Slater: What are you talking about?
Paul Jones: IN THE BATTLE ROYAL. You shook my hand, you looked me in the eye and THEN YOU THREW ME OUT OF THE RING!! YOU BETRAYED MY TRUST!!!
Dick Slater: Look Paul Jones, if you are stupid enough to trust anyone in a Battle Royal, much less me, then you ain’t got no one to blame but yourself!!!
Paul Jones: DON’T INSULT ME SLATER!!! You don’t want to be on my bad side, you don’t want me as an enemy Dick Slater because my Army will crush you, just like they are going to crush Jimmy Valiant!!!
Dick Slater: Where I come from Paul Jones, we don’t threaten people, we just get down to business, now if one of your so called soldiers here want a piece of Dick Slater? Well let’s do it!
Slater leaves the stage and climbs back into the ring!!! He motions for one of the Army to get in, Jones tell Morgan to go get him!!!!!
Slater and Morgan brawl in the ring having an unofficial match!!! Boyd and Jones pound the mat on the outside, Morgan briefly has the upper hand but Slater turns the table and is about to hit Morgan with the neckbreaker when Boyd jumps into the ring and attacks him, it’s a two on one beat down until

Tony: I am joined at this time by The Awesome Twosome, Wahoo McDaniels and Television Champion Tully Blanchard.
Tully Blanchard: Let me correct your introduction Tony Schiavone, as adequate as it was, you left out something, not only am I the Television Champion, I am also the man who pinned World Champion in the center of the ring 1-2-3!!
Tony: There is some controversy surrounding that.
Tully Blanchard: The only controversy is why I am having to even face Flair at Starrcade and why they didn’t just give me the World Title after I showed the world that I am better then him at Battle Bowl. Ric Flair, how many time have you woken up since Thanksgiving Night with knots in your stomach, cover in sweat, panicing because you are reliving again and again me pinning you and the referee counting 1………..2……………3? Do you hear it during the day? Are you in the gym training, do you see those lights again and again? It must feel like you are living a nightmare, but don’t worry, at Starrcade it’ll all be over!!!!
Wahoo McDaniels: So now this match with me and Ricky Steamboat has a stipulation, a stipulation Ricky Steamboat asked for, not that they asked me for my opinion of what kind of stipulations I might thing appropriate, they just went with what he wanted. Well that’s fine. Steamboat, that leather strap looks an awful lot like an Indian Strap, and I am undefeated in Indian Strap Matches, it’s my match. You are stepping into my world Ricky Steamboat and if you think those welts I gave you were bad, if you think that whipping you got last week was something, just wait until Starrcade.
Tully Blanchard: 1984 is coming to an end, 1985 is dawning and it will be the year of Tully Blanchard and Wahoo McDaniel, the year of the Awesome Twosome!

David: Please welcome, the winner of the Battle Royal at Battle Bowl ’84, “The Macho Man” Randy Savage and his manager, Frank Dusek!
Savage comes walking out, Dusek is carrying Savage’s large trophy that he got for winning the battle royal.
Randy Savage: FREAK OUT!!! The Macho Man is on you television in techno color, yeah!!! You know David Crockett, I must be clairvoyant. I must be able to see into the future because I saw it clear as day, I saw Macho Madness winning the Battle Royal and I did it, yeah. And now if I peak through the mists of time, if I look into the near future I see The Macho Man standing over Johnny Weaver with my arm in the air, dig it? Johnny Weaver, I remember clear as day when you were the man around here, I used to hear all about Johnny Weaver and what he could do, yeah. But that day Johnny Weaver is long ago, and now is the day of The Macho Man!!! It’s the law of the jungle, yeah!!!! You know the law of the jungle don’t you David Crockett? There is always a top lion, no one can challenge him, no one can come close to him, he reigns supreme year after year, but then that Lion starts to slow down, they start to lose a step, and then the young lion, the hungry lion, HE STEPS UP, YEAH, AND HE RIPS THE THROAT OUT OF THE OLD LION AND TAKES HIS PLACE!!!! Tony: Alright fans, I have been joined by Ricky Steamboat and Dragon, Battle Bowl ’84 didn’t turn out like you and the World Champion had hoped.
Ricky Steamboat: No it didn’t Tony, but I know Ric is going to be on later, and I’ll let him talk about what happened with Tully Blanchard. And before I talk about Starrcade and my match with Wahoo McDaniels I want to first offer my congratulations to my old, long time tag team partner and friend Jay Youngblood and his brother Mark on winning the World Tag Team Titles, I know all the title wins Jay and I had meant allot to both of us, but I think this one means allot more to him, and I am very happy for both of them.
Now, Wahoo McDaniels, I heard you out here earlier saying that I was stepping into your world, that I was in a no win situation. Well that may all be true, but I am not going to simply give up, I am not going to roll over and let what you did to me stand. My wife had to look at the scars you put on my back last week Wahoo McDaniels, and it brought tears to her eyes to see what you did to me. Now, I am a man Tony Schiavone, I knew when I decided to become a professional wrestler it carried some risks, including injury, I am prepared for that, I understand every time I step into that ring I am taking a chance that could mean injury, perhaps paralyzation, I accept that. What I have no accepted was someone going beyond the ring and taking things to another level, and that is exactly what you did when you took Tommy Young’s belt and whipped me with it. And because of that Wahoo McDaniels because you took it to another level I have decided to do so as well. The Leather Strap match is perhaps the most violent match in wrestling, two men, tied at the wrist to one another, connected by an eight foot strap that you can use to hit, beat and even choke your opponent. It is brutality and it most base, and I am willing to tie that strap on my arm, I am willing to be beat, to be choked all just to get the chance to do the same to you!!! The end of the road is coming for one of us Wahoo, we have gone too far down this road, and at Starrcade, in the Strap Match, we’ll finally reach the end!!!!

Ric Flair: Normally I would come out here David and Tony, and I’d be ready to have some fun, but today I’m not in the mood. You see Tully Blanchard, I like to have a good time, I like to walk around like only “The Nature Boy” can, I like to party and enjoy myself, but now Tully Blanchard I don’t have time for that, because I have all of my attention focused squarely on you pal! You see this??? (Flair pulls a picture up) You have been telling everyone how you pinned my shoulders to the mat, how you beat “The Nature Boy” well pal, take good hard look at this picture. What do you see here David? Tony?
Tony: It’s of Tully pinning you at Battle Bowl, with a handful of tights.
Ric Flair: That’s right, because he couldn’t get the job done on his own he had to resort to cheating. Now, I am not going to complain, or cry over spilled milk, I myself have been known to take an extra advantage, so I am not going to make excuses, but BLANCHARD!!!! (Flair rips up the picture) YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND ME IS I’LL ADMIT WHEN I TAKE AN ADVANTAGE!!! I’LL OWN UP TO BREAKING THE RULES!!! I’LL PROUDLY SAY I AM THE DIRTEST PLAYER IN THE GAME!!!! YOU’RE TOO SCARED TOO!!! Well Blanchard, if this is the way you want to play, if you want to get dirty Blanchard, if you want to go into the ditches (Flair takes off his suit jacket and tosses it aside, his tie he takes off and throws as well) WELL PAL NO ONE GETS DIRTY LIKE THE NATURE BOY!!! Weaver is in the ring waving to the fans when we come back from the break and “Fame” starts to play, bringing out Randy Savage and his manager Frank Dusek!!!
Savage climbs into the ring, spins around, AND WEAVER ATTACKS HIM BEFORE HE CAN REMOVE HIS ROBE OR BEFORE THE BELL CAN RING!!!! WEAVER GIVES A BIG PUNCH TO FRANK DUSEK TO KNOCK HIM OUT OF THE RING AND THEN TURNS HIS ATTENTION BACK TO SAVAGE!!!
Weaver is throwing punches that are rocking Savage back!!! Weaver is kicking and punching Savage!!! He runs Savage into the turnbuckle and then kicks Savage out of the ring!!! Savage rips off his robe and throws his glasses down, Weaver gets tired of waiting for Savage and follows him out!! Weaver is still beating back Savage!!! Tony and David can’t believe it and David is eating it up!!! Weaver starts choking Savage with the top rope!!! Dusek jumps on the apron!!! Weaver lets go of Savage and grabs Dusek!!! He runs Dusek across the apron and slams him face first into the ring post!!!! But while Weaver is distracted Savage nails him with a flying knee to the back sending Weaver crashing into the corner!!!
Savage starts to unload on Weaver with his patented punches!!! Weaver is taking the shots flush to the mush as Savage keeps unloading shot after shot!!! Now it’s Savage’s turn to unload on Weaver!!! Punch after punch before tossing Weaver to the floor through the ropes!!! Savage quick as a cat scales the turnbuckles and comes down off the top rope with a double ax handle onto Weaver on the floor!!!!!
Savage rolls Weaver back into the ring and covers him, but Weaver somehow kicks out after two. Savage whips Weaver into the ropes and catches him with a back elbow!! Savage drops a fist and then makes another cover, but Weaver kicks out. Savage mounts Weaver and start just blasting him in the head with punches!! To stop the onslaught Weaver puts a thumb in Savage’s eye!!! Savage staggers around trying to clear his vision, he tries to hit Weaver with a double ax but Weaver punches Savage in the gut!!! Weaver fights to his feet throwing punches at Savage!!! Savage rakes Weaver’s eyes!!! He tries to whip Weaver into the ropes but Weaver reverses and then catches Savage in the Weaver Lock!!!!!
Savage is fighting the hold but Weaver has it locked on!!!! Savage keeps fighting and finally runs Weaver backward into the corner, forcing the break of the hold!!! Savage is grabbing his neck and coughing, he knows he was close to going out!!! Weaver charges at Savage but Savage catches him with a kick!!! Savage hits a vertical suplex on Weaver!!! He then climbs to the top rope and launches off with the Macho Elbow Drop!!! He connects!! Savage covers and gets the three count!!!!
Dusek climbs into the ring and raises Savage’s hand. Savage gives Weaver another kick for good measure. He and Dusek leave Weaver in the ring.
David: Johnny Weaver almost did it, he almost beat Randy Savage!!
Tony: Maybe David, but Randy Savage looks like he is here to stay and what’s more, he looks like he is going to be a threat to any title here in the National Wrestling Alliance!!
Suddenly Savage storms the set!!!
Randy Savage: I told you I could see the future, AND LOOK AT JOHNNY WEAVER LYING IN THE RING, YEAH!!!! MACHO MADNESS IS HERE, DIG IT? AND THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT!!!!! OOOOOOOH YEEEEEAHH!!!!

David: And Tony, after what happened at Battle Bowl ’84, both guys are itching to get back in the ring with each other.
Tony: We’ll talk about that in detail later today! Also on the program, we will speak with the new World Tag Team Champions! Dick Slater makes his return to NWA Television, and our main event, Johnny Weaver faces the man who won the Battle Royal at Battle Bowl ’84, the Legend, Johnny Weaver!
Paul Jones, flanked by Boyd and Morgan, interrupt the program.
Paul Jones: Did I hear right, did I hear you say that the liar, THE CHEAT, Dick Slater will be here today?
Tony: Yes he will be.
Paul Jones: After what he did to me at Battle Bowl, after looking me in the eye, shaking my hand and then stabbing me in the back, he is going to show up here today? Well we’ll just see about that. Dick Slater, you crossed the wrong man!!
Tony: Strong words from Paul Jones, let’s go to the ring!
Larry Hamilton is standing in the ring when “Beat It” starts to play and out comes the United States Champion! The Ragin Bull Manny Fernandez!
UNITED STATES CHAMPION “THE RAGIN BULL” MANNY FERNANDEZ DEFEATS LARRY HAMILTON WITH A LARIAT
Tony: “The Ragin Bull” with another win as he heads to Starrcade 84 to face Nikita Koloff for a second time!
Manny: You see that Nikita Koloff? You got your Russian Sickle? Well Daddy, that right there is the American Lariat, it was taught to me by the Bad Man from Borger, Stan Hansen! And at Starrcade baby, you gonna get to see it up close and personal!!! Nikita Koloff!! Starrcade is coming daddy, and The Bull is coming for YOU!!!

Back from the break and a very upset Jimmy Garvin and Precious are with David.
David: I have been joined by Jimmy Garvin and Precious. And Jimmy, (big smile comes across David’s face) how was the party.
Jimmy Garvin: OH HO HO, OH HA HA!! Aren’t you just funny David Crockett, aren’t you just a RIOT!!! The party didn’t happen, it was ruined by that runt bean pole, Sam Houston!! I mean can you believe it? Can you believe SAM HOUSTON eliminated me? CAN YOU??? BECAUSE I CAN’T!!! And it’s not my fault!!! No it’s not, you see David Crockett, I was DISTRACTED!!! I was distracted because this big, fat, ugly, toothless woman was in the front row BLOWING KISSES AT ME!!! When I saw that, Squeeze when I saw that I just got so sick to my stomach, I started to gag I felt like I was going to throw up everywhere and then that punk took advantage of me and threw me out of the ring, robbing all my good friends of the great party we were going to have! I flew lobsters in from Maine!! Caviar for France!!! And we threw all of it away!! AND IT’S ALL SAM HOUSTON’S FAULT!!! If I don’t ever have to see that punk again it will be too soon!!!!
David (completely loving this): Well, you are going to see him allot sooner than you think.
Jimmy Garvin: What are you talking about David Crockett? Huh? Why are you smiling so much? WHY? You look stupider than you normally do!!!
David: Because, because Jimmy Garvin you signed an open contract for Starrcade ’84.
Jimmy Garvin: Yeah? SO WHAT? Of course I signed an open contract, it wasn’t like I was expecting your idiot brother to put me in a match, he has been doing everything he can to keep me and Squeeze out of things since we got here, so of course I signed an open contract. Jeez, Squeeze, this guy just ain’t too bright!!
David: Well, all an open contract needs to be official is to have someone else sign it.
Jimmy Garvin: Well DUUUUUUUUUH!!! Is there a point to all this David Crockett? You are boring Squeeze!!!
David: Well, I have that open contract right here Jimmy Garvin, and you can see here, it has been signed.

Garvin studies the contract and then sees the name signed to face him.

Jay: Thank you Tony, and we just want to come out here and say thank you, thank you to our friends like Ricky Steamboat, Manny Fernandez, Jimmy Valiant, Ric Flair, for standing by us, for encouraging us and or telling us we could get it done. And most of all we want to say a BIG thank you to all the fans, for everything they have done to cheer us along, the cards, the letters, the pats on the back, we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you!!
Mark: And a big thank you to our dad RICKY ROMERO!!! Dad, you trained us, you taught us to never give up, AND THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!!!
Jay: You know Tony, we both have been World Tag Team Champions in the past, but this is the first time we have done it together and man, MAN, it feels so, so good!!!
Tony: Well I don’t mean to stop the celebration, but before we came on air we were informed that Ivan Koloff had exercised their rematch clause, and you would have to defend the titles against them at Starrcade.
Jay: Tony, we knew as soon as we got back to the locker room that they were going to demand the rematch, and we are going to be ready for ‘em!!! Koloff! Kernodle!! We took the titles and we plan to keep ‘em!!!

David: Alright, I am joined by “Mr. Unpredictable” himself, Dick Slater.
Dick Slater: “Mr. Unpredictable” is that what they call me? Is that what you call me, well it’s right. Because sometime I don’t even know what I am going to do. One thing I know I wanted to do, was come back here to the NWA, come back to wrestle the best. You know I came up a little short earlier in the year for the World Title, but I am not done chasing it, not by a longshot, I went home, I recharged, I prepared and now I’m back.
Paul Jones appears for a second time in the show, once again flanked by Morgan and Boyd!
Paul Jones: Now just a minute Dick Slater, JUST A MINUTE!! We have an issue to discuss, a problem that you caused when you STABBED ME IN THE BACK!!!
Dick Slater: What are you talking about?
Paul Jones: IN THE BATTLE ROYAL. You shook my hand, you looked me in the eye and THEN YOU THREW ME OUT OF THE RING!! YOU BETRAYED MY TRUST!!!
Dick Slater: Look Paul Jones, if you are stupid enough to trust anyone in a Battle Royal, much less me, then you ain’t got no one to blame but yourself!!!
Paul Jones: DON’T INSULT ME SLATER!!! You don’t want to be on my bad side, you don’t want me as an enemy Dick Slater because my Army will crush you, just like they are going to crush Jimmy Valiant!!!
Dick Slater: Where I come from Paul Jones, we don’t threaten people, we just get down to business, now if one of your so called soldiers here want a piece of Dick Slater? Well let’s do it!
Slater leaves the stage and climbs back into the ring!!! He motions for one of the Army to get in, Jones tell Morgan to go get him!!!!!
Slater and Morgan brawl in the ring having an unofficial match!!! Boyd and Jones pound the mat on the outside, Morgan briefly has the upper hand but Slater turns the table and is about to hit Morgan with the neckbreaker when Boyd jumps into the ring and attacks him, it’s a two on one beat down until

Tony: I am joined at this time by The Awesome Twosome, Wahoo McDaniels and Television Champion Tully Blanchard.
Tully Blanchard: Let me correct your introduction Tony Schiavone, as adequate as it was, you left out something, not only am I the Television Champion, I am also the man who pinned World Champion in the center of the ring 1-2-3!!
Tony: There is some controversy surrounding that.
Tully Blanchard: The only controversy is why I am having to even face Flair at Starrcade and why they didn’t just give me the World Title after I showed the world that I am better then him at Battle Bowl. Ric Flair, how many time have you woken up since Thanksgiving Night with knots in your stomach, cover in sweat, panicing because you are reliving again and again me pinning you and the referee counting 1………..2……………3? Do you hear it during the day? Are you in the gym training, do you see those lights again and again? It must feel like you are living a nightmare, but don’t worry, at Starrcade it’ll all be over!!!!
Wahoo McDaniels: So now this match with me and Ricky Steamboat has a stipulation, a stipulation Ricky Steamboat asked for, not that they asked me for my opinion of what kind of stipulations I might thing appropriate, they just went with what he wanted. Well that’s fine. Steamboat, that leather strap looks an awful lot like an Indian Strap, and I am undefeated in Indian Strap Matches, it’s my match. You are stepping into my world Ricky Steamboat and if you think those welts I gave you were bad, if you think that whipping you got last week was something, just wait until Starrcade.
Tully Blanchard: 1984 is coming to an end, 1985 is dawning and it will be the year of Tully Blanchard and Wahoo McDaniel, the year of the Awesome Twosome!

Savage comes walking out, Dusek is carrying Savage’s large trophy that he got for winning the battle royal.
Randy Savage: FREAK OUT!!! The Macho Man is on you television in techno color, yeah!!! You know David Crockett, I must be clairvoyant. I must be able to see into the future because I saw it clear as day, I saw Macho Madness winning the Battle Royal and I did it, yeah. And now if I peak through the mists of time, if I look into the near future I see The Macho Man standing over Johnny Weaver with my arm in the air, dig it? Johnny Weaver, I remember clear as day when you were the man around here, I used to hear all about Johnny Weaver and what he could do, yeah. But that day Johnny Weaver is long ago, and now is the day of The Macho Man!!! It’s the law of the jungle, yeah!!!! You know the law of the jungle don’t you David Crockett? There is always a top lion, no one can challenge him, no one can come close to him, he reigns supreme year after year, but then that Lion starts to slow down, they start to lose a step, and then the young lion, the hungry lion, HE STEPS UP, YEAH, AND HE RIPS THE THROAT OUT OF THE OLD LION AND TAKES HIS PLACE!!!! Tony: Alright fans, I have been joined by Ricky Steamboat and Dragon, Battle Bowl ’84 didn’t turn out like you and the World Champion had hoped.
Ricky Steamboat: No it didn’t Tony, but I know Ric is going to be on later, and I’ll let him talk about what happened with Tully Blanchard. And before I talk about Starrcade and my match with Wahoo McDaniels I want to first offer my congratulations to my old, long time tag team partner and friend Jay Youngblood and his brother Mark on winning the World Tag Team Titles, I know all the title wins Jay and I had meant allot to both of us, but I think this one means allot more to him, and I am very happy for both of them.
Now, Wahoo McDaniels, I heard you out here earlier saying that I was stepping into your world, that I was in a no win situation. Well that may all be true, but I am not going to simply give up, I am not going to roll over and let what you did to me stand. My wife had to look at the scars you put on my back last week Wahoo McDaniels, and it brought tears to her eyes to see what you did to me. Now, I am a man Tony Schiavone, I knew when I decided to become a professional wrestler it carried some risks, including injury, I am prepared for that, I understand every time I step into that ring I am taking a chance that could mean injury, perhaps paralyzation, I accept that. What I have no accepted was someone going beyond the ring and taking things to another level, and that is exactly what you did when you took Tommy Young’s belt and whipped me with it. And because of that Wahoo McDaniels because you took it to another level I have decided to do so as well. The Leather Strap match is perhaps the most violent match in wrestling, two men, tied at the wrist to one another, connected by an eight foot strap that you can use to hit, beat and even choke your opponent. It is brutality and it most base, and I am willing to tie that strap on my arm, I am willing to be beat, to be choked all just to get the chance to do the same to you!!! The end of the road is coming for one of us Wahoo, we have gone too far down this road, and at Starrcade, in the Strap Match, we’ll finally reach the end!!!!

You see this??? (Flair pulls a picture up) You have been telling everyone how you pinned my shoulders to the mat, how you beat “The Nature Boy” well pal, take good hard look at this picture. Tony: It’s of Tully pinning you at Battle Bowl, with a handful of tights.
Ric Flair: That’s right, because he couldn’t get the job done on his own he had to resort to cheating. Now, I am not going to complain, or cry over spilled milk, I myself have been known to take an extra advantage, so I am not going to make excuses, but BLANCHARD!!!! (Flair rips up the picture) YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND ME IS I’LL ADMIT WHEN I TAKE AN ADVANTAGE!!! I’LL OWN UP TO BREAKING THE RULES!!! Weaver is in the ring waving to the fans when we come back from the break and “Fame” starts to play, bringing out Randy Savage and his manager Frank Dusek!!!
JOHNNY WEAVER VS. “MACHO MAN” RANDY SAVAGE W/FRANK DUSEK
Savage climbs into the ring, spins around, AND WEAVER ATTACKS HIM BEFORE HE CAN REMOVE HIS ROBE OR BEFORE THE BELL CAN RING!!!! WEAVER GIVES A BIG PUNCH TO FRANK DUSEK TO KNOCK HIM OUT OF THE RING AND THEN TURNS HIS ATTENTION BACK TO SAVAGE!!!
Weaver is throwing punches that are rocking Savage back!!! Weaver is kicking and punching Savage!!! He runs Savage into the turnbuckle and then kicks Savage out of the ring!!! Savage rips off his robe and throws his glasses down, Weaver gets tired of waiting for Savage and follows him out!! Weaver is still beating back Savage!!! Tony and David can’t believe it and David is eating it up!!! Weaver starts choking Savage with the top rope!!! Dusek jumps on the apron!!! Weaver lets go of Savage and grabs Dusek!!! He runs Dusek across the apron and slams him face first into the ring post!!!! But while Weaver is distracted Savage nails him with a flying knee to the back sending Weaver crashing into the corner!!!
Savage starts to unload on Weaver with his patented punches!!! Weaver is taking the shots flush to the mush as Savage keeps unloading shot after shot!!! Now it’s Savage’s turn to unload on Weaver!!! Punch after punch before tossing Weaver to the floor through the ropes!!! Savage quick as a cat scales the turnbuckles and comes down off the top rope with a double ax handle onto Weaver on the floor!!!!!
Savage rolls Weaver back into the ring and covers him, but Weaver somehow kicks out after two. Savage whips Weaver into the ropes and catches him with a back elbow!! Savage drops a fist and then makes another cover, but Weaver kicks out. Savage mounts Weaver and start just blasting him in the head with punches!! To stop the onslaught Weaver puts a thumb in Savage’s eye!!! Savage staggers around trying to clear his vision, he tries to hit Weaver with a double ax but Weaver punches Savage in the gut!!! Weaver fights to his feet throwing punches at Savage!!! Savage rakes Weaver’s eyes!!! He tries to whip Weaver into the ropes but Weaver reverses and then catches Savage in the Weaver Lock!!!!!
Savage is fighting the hold but Weaver has it locked on!!!! Savage keeps fighting and finally runs Weaver backward into the corner, forcing the break of the hold!!! Savage is grabbing his neck and coughing, he knows he was close to going out!!! Weaver charges at Savage but Savage catches him with a kick!!! Savage hits a vertical suplex on Weaver!!! He then climbs to the top rope and launches off with the Macho Elbow Drop!!! He connects!! Savage covers and gets the three count!!!!
WINNER: RANDY SAVAGE
Dusek climbs into the ring and raises Savage’s hand. Savage gives Weaver another kick for good measure. He and Dusek leave Weaver in the ring.
David: Johnny Weaver almost did it, he almost beat Randy Savage!!
Tony: Maybe David, but Randy Savage looks like he is here to stay and what’s more, he looks like he is going to be a threat to any title here in the National Wrestling Alliance!!
Suddenly Savage storms the set!!!
Randy Savage: I told you I could see the future, AND LOOK AT JOHNNY WEAVER LYING IN THE RING, YEAH!!!! MACHO MADNESS IS HERE, DIG IT? AND THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT!!!!! OOOOOOOH YEEEEEAHH!!!!
