Last night in the Omni, “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez won the United States Championship when he defeated “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff, and the new Champion will be here today! Also, the Road to Starcade starts tonight!!!! Tony says that we will have news later tonight as to the main event for Starcade, and if the rumors he has heard are true, it’s going to be a doozy!!!

David Crockett: That right………Starcade 84………..at the Greensboro Coliseum on Christmas Night!!! It’s going to be the biggest show of the year!!!
Randy Savage: It can’t be the biggest show without wrestling biggest star, The Macho Man, yeah. So David Crockett, you talk to your brother, you tell him to get it right, you tell ‘em, The Macho Man needs to be in the Main Event for the World Heavyweight Title, oooooooooooh YEAAAH!!!!

Jim Crockett: Thank you Tony, I don’t want to take up too much of your time, but I have several huge announcements to make. First, while Starcade 84 is going to be held on Christmas Night this year, we will still have a huge card on Thanksgiving Night, this year we will present Battle Bowl 84 at the Charlotte Coliseum! Tickets for that great event are already on sale, and we can announce that the NWA World Tag Team Title will be on the line in Charlotte, it will be the Youngbloods final shot at the title and the match will be contested inside a steel cage!
Tony Schaivonie: That is HUGE news indeed!!!
Jim Crockett: Now, as for Starrcade 1984, last year, the first Starrcade was an amazing night of action and it will be hard to duplicate, but we aren’t going to just try and duplicate it, we are going to surpass it. And just like last year, the World Heavyweight Title will be decided in the Main Event. This year, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair will face the NWA Television Champion Tully Blanchard in a two out of three falls match, and Tony, to make sure that no one, gets involved in that match up, we have signed former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion “Smokin” Joe Frazier to be the enforcer on the outside of the ring!!!!

Jim Crockett: And that’s not all, I have also signed a match to take place at Starrcade between Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Wahoo McDaniels and after what happened between the two men last night, a stipulation will be added to that match, one that is still being debated. More blockbuster matches will be added to the card soon and I hope that fans are as excited as we are and will be joining us Christmas Night for Starrcade!!!!
