Matches taped December 14, 1984 to air across the territory on December 21, 1984 at the studios of KMSP TV in Minneapolis. Rod Trongard on commentary and Ken Resnick as ring announcer and interviewer.
After the opening, we cut to Ken Resnick in front of the AWA logo.
RESNICK: Welcome to All Star Wrestling! We have a great hour of AWA action for you this week! The Fabulous One is here! You’ll see four members of The Legion Of Doom in a rare 8 man tag team match! Mil Mascaras is in action! Tony Atlas & butch Reed will take on Los Super Medicos, Puerto Rico’s top tag team! Last week, you saw Pistol Pez Whatley defeat Jesse Barr and challenge Barr’s associate, Larry Zybysko. Zybysko agreed to the match and it will take place here today! (“Everybody Wants You” begins playing) Right now, let’s go to the ring!
”Fabulous One” Steve Keirn vs. Gerald Finley: With Baby Doll cheering him on, the Fabulous One dominates this match and scores a convincing win with a piledriver.

Mil Mascaras vs. Jay “The Alaskan” York: Mil totally dominates this match and finishes the Alaskan with a flying bodypress.
RESNICK: After that great win by Mil Mascaras, I’m joined by a man who has an outstanding record as both a professional and an amateur, Bob Roop! Welcome to the AWA! What are your goals here in the Major League of Professional Wrestling?
ROOP: Well, I’d like to wrestle the great competition you have here. Mascaras there is one of the best. You also have men like Keirn, Brisco, Robinson, Bockwinkel….the best competiion in the entire world! You know, I’ve done it all. ’68 Olympic team, 15 year career, Florida Champion, Southeastern Champion, North American Champion. I know just about everything there is to know about this sport. I’d like to pass some of that knowledge down. I see a lot of young wrestlers who could be great stars if they had the right guidance. I’m thinking of one young man in particular that is here in the AWA. I guess to answer your question, I have big plans, inside the ring and out of the ring here in the AWA!
RESNICK: We look forward to seeing those plans unfold! Speaking of great talent, we have a ring full of it in our next match!
”Dr. Death” Steve Williams, “Mr. Magnificent” Kevin Kelly, the Barbarian, & Superstar Graham vs. Brad & Bart Batten, Fred Peloquin, & Jose Luis Rivera.: Rivera and the Battens put forth a valiant effort against Paul Ellering’s Legion of Doom members, but when Peloquin tags in, it goes downhill from there and Fred is forced to submit to Graham’s backbreaker.

Tony Atlas & Butch Reed vs. Los Super Medicos I&II: Hyped as Puerto Rico’s top tag team, the Medicos use quick tags and teamwork to gain an early edge, but the power of Atlas & Reed is just too much for the masked combination. Reed hits a shoulderblock off the top turnbuckle to flatten Medico I and then, score the win!
RESNICK: Last week, Boris Zhukov and Sheik Adnan El Kaissey ganged up on Steve O and gave him a vicious beating. Steve O said he was calling in some reinforcements and here is a videotape of the man who will team with Steve O to take on Zhukov & Adnan on Christmas night in the St. Paul Civic Center!

Sgt. Slaughter stands in front of a huge American flag!
SLAUGHTER: I got a call from Steve Olsonoski the other day! He said some Russian and his Arab sugar daddy had jumped him 2 on 1! Well, that’s the way it goes with slime and maggot scum! When my country calls, when Americans are being mistreated, when anti-American pukes rear their ugly heads, that’s when you can always count on Sgt. Slaughter! Zhukov, I hear you buried Steve under a communist flag! Well, that was the first and last time that you’ll pull a stunt like that! On Christmas night, I’m coming to St. Paul to defend my country’s honor! Until then…..YOU’RE DISMISSED!
RESNICK: December 25th is shaping up to be a HUGE night of AWA wrestling! As you know, the Road Warriors will defend the AWA Tag Titles against atlas & Johnson in a cage match! Right now, let’s look at hawk & Animal as the prepare for the toughest challenge to their titles ever!
VTR:
Hawk & Animal are pumping iron in a run down looking gym.
PAUL ELLERING: (voice over)Look at the most awesome team in the history of pro wrestling, Tony Atlas & Butch Reed! Can you imagine what it will be like when that power is unleashed on you inside of a 15 foot high steel cage where there’s no escape? No place to run or hide!
Hawk and Animal are now standing behind a section of fence. Hawk holds up a piece of beef and runs it across the cage, making a bloody mess!
HAWK: That’s you, Atlas! That’s you, Hacksaw!
ANIMAL: That piece of meat looks better than you geeks will look when we get done beating you up!
Scene shifts to the Warriors working out, intercut with footage of them destroying various wrestlers as “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath plays. The video ends with Hawk & Animal standing in front of a fireplace with two stockings hung on the mantle with “REED” on one stocking and “ATLAS” on the other! Animal puts a package of bandaids and a bottle of aspirin in one stocking while Hawk stuffs a neck brace in the other stocking!
RESNICK: It looks like the World Champions have big plans for Christmas. Last week, we saw Pistol Pez Whatley wrestle Jesse Barr. Let’s go to the closing moments of that match…
VTR:
. This is a close match and finally, Whatley hits a cross body to score the pin! Bockwinkel & Zybysko jump in to try and break up the pin, but Pistol Pez gets the 1-2-3!
RESNICK: A great win for Pistol Pez Whatley! Larry Zybysko seems very upset about it all!
PEZ: Zybysko, if you wanna go next, brother, I ain’t busy next week!
RESNICK: Pez Whatley will wrestle Larry Zybysko after this break!

Pistol Pez Whatley vs. Larry Zybysko: Nick Bockwinkel accompanies Zybysko to the ring and watches as these two wrestlers contest a very competitive match. After 12 minutes or so of action, Whatley scores the pin with a sunset flip! Barr comes in and tries to attack Pez afterwards, but Pez fights him of and headbutts him out of the ring! Whatley is standing tall as the Bockwinkel/Zybysko/Barr faction stalk away in frustration!
Well, with the holidays and a death in the family, I have fallen behind a bit. Hopefully, I'll be caught up by the end of the coming week. Happy New Year to all!
