12/14/96 - Viking Hall Philadelphia, PA
"Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff and his co-host with Captain Lou Albano welcome us to the exciting episode of ECW Slammin's Saturdays live from Viking Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! They tell us they have an exciting show lined up for us here tonight! He tells us that the "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady will be in action as will "All-American" Ron Simmons who he'll be getting some interview time in with today.
Captain Lou asks if Prince Nana will be here today. And Buck tells him to can it before sending us to the first match of the morning.
Joel Gertner makes with the intros while S.D. Jones officiates all matches.
Match: Erin O'Grady vs. EZ Money
"The Leprchaun" Erin O'Grady's lucky streak continues in this fast paced back and forth contest which sees him win with the Lucky Charm double underhook implant DDT! After the win he places gold coins on the eyes of the downed EZ Money.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
"The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady is dress as Lucky and tells us that the letter L stands for Lucky Charms and that they're magically delicious! (ECW is full of shills)
Ron Simmons vs. Ace Steel
Ace Steel fairs well early on; but he mostly gets dominated by "The All-American" Ron Simmons who flattens him with the Dominator inverted front powerslam for the win.
After the match we're brought the the Slammin' Saturdays set where Buck Zumhoff is flying solo. He says that he has a very special guest lined up for us this evening; multiple time World Champion and the first ever African American to hold a World Title; "All-American" Ron Simmons!
Simmons thanks him for having him on the show. But he really hates being constantly referred to as the first African American Champ. That he didn't win the Title because he was a black man. That he won it the old-fashioned way; like a true American through hard work and determination. Not to mention kicking more than a little ass. And he encourages the kids to do the same to get what they want out of life. Well, maybe not the butt-kicking part... too much. He says it's important to be proud of yourself and you accomplishments and to achieve your goals the right way; which is exactly the way he plans to become the Eastern States Champion; but one day soon the ECW Champion! So Benoit? Chris Jericho? You're both on notice punks.
The camera then cuts to a "Rocking 'N Rolling" segment where The Honky Tonk Man invites us to party with a song from the soundtrack from the new Beavis & Butthead movie (or as he likes to call them Buck & Lou); "Love Rollercoaster" by The Red Hot Chili Peppers!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Welcoming us back from the last commercial break of the evening Buck Zumhoff and Captain Lou Albano bring us back in time for the Wrestling Rewind Main Event all the way back from March 21st of last year when "Mach Man" Randy Savage went one on one with "The Man-Beast" Rhino!
Main Event: Randy Savage vs. Rhino
The bell rings and the two men lock up in the center of the ring. They seem evenly matched, but eventually Savage loses some ground and Rhino grazes him with his forearm before spinning behind him and takes him down to the mat with a belly to black slam. He grabs "Macho Man" into an armbar and torques his shoulder, but they're too close to the ropes and Savage grabs them breaking the hold. Rhino comes right back in swinging and Randy catches him with an elbow to the chin and begins hammering on him before whipping him toward the ropes. Charging across the ring Savage leaps over the top rope and catches "The Man-Beast" with a hairpull hangman. Rhino crashes forward to the mat while "Macho" catches a breather on the outside. Mongo Vyle however doesn't like this and goes after him; but Randy escapes into the ring and Vyle receives a warning from referee S.D. Jones while "Macho Man" yells at him only to get clobbered from behind by a running double axe-handle by "The Man-Beast" who lays into him up against the ropes before whipping him across the ring and charges Savage with a big boot! Randy however ducks under and clips his leg with a shoulder block knocking him to the floor where he stomps the same leg before trapping Rhino in an Indian deathlock! Rhino growls and beats the floor in pain as Randy gets up and drops back again and again before his opponent finally fights his way up hobbling on the injured leg. Randy however fights back and the two men begin throwing punches in the middle of the ring with Savage getting the better of Rhino whom he lifts up and nails with an inverted atomic drop! While Rhino is on all fours Randy runs the ropes to build momentum as he comes back with a kick to Rhino's gut. "The Man-Beast" rolls over and grabs the ropes as he pulls himself off but Randy is right on top of him and runs him head first into the corner turnbuckle! Rhino staggers about and walks right into a vertical suplex! Savage makes the cover! 1...2...
Rhino kicks out! Keeping on him "Macho" traps "The Beast" in a side headlock as he fights toward the ropes crawling inch by inch. He isn't going to make it though and in a fury battles out with back elbows at Savage. He rolls out of the ring and Mongo comes over to help him. Inside the ring Randy Savage is back on his feet and grinning menacingly before he runs at them and leaps over the top rope in a suicide dive! He hits both members of Destruction Inc. head on and all three men spill onto the floor. Bodies are everywhere and nobody is getting up too fast. Mongo Vyle is up first and moves onto Savage, but gets a warning from the ref and backs off. Randy is up next and begins putting the boots to Rhino before pulling him up to his feet and smashing his head into the guardrail! Only it doesn't connect as Rhino grabs the bar and blocks it! He backhandes Savage and grabbing him brains him into the steel barricade! He does it again before whipping him hard into the aporn and charges in for a clothesline! Randy falls in a heap and bloody is trickling down his head. Rhino pulls him up to his feet and rolls him into the ring. Entering he leaps on "Macho Man" with a standing splash making the cover. 1!...2!...
Randy kicks out! Rhino is angry and getting up to one knee traps him in a side headlock. "Macho Man" is fighting it and begins hammering his foot into the canvas! He fights his way to one knee as "The Man-Beast" holds on tight and continues to his feet where he takes Rhino down with a snapmare before delivering a leg drop. Rolling back to his feet Savage puts the boots to Rhino before signaling for the Flying Elbow Drop! He climbs up the ropes with opponent still down when Mongo Vyle hops up onto the apron and pushes Randy down to the concrete floor! "Macho" hits the ground hard as S.D. Jones calls for the bell. This one ends in a D.Q. Meanwhile Rhino is back up and has rolled outside the ring. He lifts Randy up to his feet and throws him back against the guardrail while Mongo Vyle picks up a steel chair! Debbie Combs is screaming at Steve Corino to help him; but Corino just smirks and seems to be pretending not to listen as Vyle raises the chair and hammers it home on Savage's head! He's bleeding more as he hits the floor again and Mongo raises it for another swing! But it never comes as it is pulled away! "The Machiavellan Mauler" turns about to see Steve Corino?! Steve has the chair and shoves it into Vyle's gut before smashes him over the back with it! He is down and Rhino backs off as Steve Corino holds the chair up threateningly and yells at him to get to the back. Debbie Combs checks on Savage who seems to be in another world as the...
