AWA ALL STAR WRESTLING
Matches taped December 7, 1984 to air across the territory on December 14, 1984 at the studios of KMSP TV in Minneapolis. Rod Trongard on commentary and Ken Resnick as ring announcer and interviewer.
After the opening, we cut to Ken Resnick and Rod Trongard in front of the AWA logo.
RESNICK: Welcome to All Star Wrestling! We have a great hour of AWA action for you this week! The Hennigs will wrestle. The World Tag Team Champions, the Road Warriors will be in action. We will also see Superstar Graham of the Legion of Doom against a great Polynesian wrestler in Siva Afi, Rod.
TRONGARD: This Siva Afi is a dynamic athlete and I think that Graham will have his hands full!
RESNICK: We have a double TV Main Event this week. Steve O will wrestle the Russian, Boris Zhukov, managed by Sheik Adnan El Kaissey! And Pistol Pez Whatley will face Jesse Barr, who joins us now, accompanied by his colleagues, former World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and “Living Legend” Larry Zybysko! Gentlemen, Pez Whatley’s record, as both a pro and amateur, speaks for itself!
BARR: Pez Whatley, just isn’t in our class! My amateur background is much more impressive and look at these two men and what they have done! Today, I’m going to show everybody the difference between an elite, world class, Olympic level athlete and a Pez Whatley!
BOCKWINKEL: Mr. Whatley, you are looking at the crème de la crème, the Rolls Royce of the AWA. Honestly, we don’t have the time to waste with the likes of you! We should be getting the World Title shots, the World Tag Team Title matches! That will become painfully clear to everyone by the end of today’s program.

The Road Warriors(Hawk & Animal) vs. Ron Sexton & Steve Collins: The Warriors take their opponents apart as Butch Reed & Tony Atlas scout them from the interview area. Animal pins Collins after a big press slam. After the match, Hawk & Animal continue to beat on their opponents and Paul Ellering joins in on the beatdown! Finally, Atlas & Reed have seem enough and hit the ring! Atlas brawls with Hawk as Reed trades blows with Animal as Elleringwaves his Wall Street Journal and yells instructions to his men! As the audience goes wild, Atlas & Reed manage to clear the ring!
VTR:
A familiar figure is in a ring in an empty arena. The man bounces off of the ropes a few times and then glares into the camera…MAD DOG VACHON!
VACHON: People in the AWA have been asking: “Where is the Dog?” I have been watching and waiting, my friends! Waiting for the right moment to return! I heard the Samoans challenging any other three men and I love a challenge! So, I called two of my best friends! I said to them, “There are three big, tough men looking for a fight!” and they said they were ready! Afa! Sika! Samu! We accept the challenge! The Mad Dog will be in St.Paul on Christmas night! I will have my friends with me! Get ready fro the fight of your life! Remember, it’s a dog eat dog world!
RESNICK: I am here with Paul Ellering and the Road Warriors!
ANIMAL: You just saw those punks jump us from behind! In that cage on Christmas night, we’re gonna meet you face to face! Atlas, Reed, I’m gonna grab your heads and grind your faces into that cage until you look like hamburger meat! Tell’em, Hawk!
HAWK: You’re looking at the Grinch that is gonna steal Chritmas, you pukes! Every morning when we wake up, we just wanna destroy somebody! Locking us in a cage with two human beings, is like aiding and abetting assault and battery, maybe manslaughter! Think of the scariest horror movie you’ve ever seen and multiply it by 100…that’s what it’s gonna be like in that cage!
ELLERING: It will be the greatest night in Legion of Doom history! Graham will win the World Title! The Warriors will retain the World Tag Team Title! The Hennigs will be ran out of the AWA once and for all! Due to the brutality and violence that will be unleashed, you might want to let small children stay at home and play with their toys!
RESNICK: Superstar Graham was mentioned. He will wrestle Siva Afi when we come back.

Superstar Graham vs. Siva Afi: Afi uses his high flying style an takes it Graham early on, but Grahamcomes back and takes control with a chop to the throat! Graham then works on Afi’s back for several minutes before applying the backbreaker and scoring a submission win!

Steve O vs. Boris Zhukov:Zhukov overpowers Steve early as Adnan raves at ringside. Steve O makes a comeback and manages to apply the abdominal stretch on the Russian. That brings Adnan into the ring! The Sheik and the Russian dish out a vicious beating to Steve as the ref calls for the bell! Zhukov brings his Russian flag in and, after he and the Sheik deliver a vicious beatdown, Zhukov buries Steve O under the flag! This is disgraceful!

STEVE O: This is garbage, Ken Resnick! Zhukov couldn’t beat me in a straight up wrestling match so he had that jerk, the Sheik jump in! The two of them were able to beat me up and humiliate me by putting that lousy communist flag on my body! I’m gonna go make a phone call, Zhukov! There is a man who isn’t afraid to stand up to creeps like you two! A proud American who will be happy to get his hands on you two!
Pez Whatley comes into the picture….
PEZ: Steve, I’m with you, man! Now, I’ve got this Jesse Barr! I heard all of the talking, Jesse! The Pistol man is on his way to the top and I ain’t gonna stop! It starts today, baby!
Pistol Pez Whatley vs. Jesse Barr: Zybysko and Bockwinkel accompany Barr, but stay out of the match and let Whatley and Barr wrestle. This is a close match and finally, Whatley hits a cross body to score the pin! Bockwinkel & Zybysko jump in to try and break up the pin, but Pistol Pez gets the 1-2-3!
RESNICK: A great win for Pistol Pez Whatley! Larry Zybysko seems very upset about it all!
PEZ: Zybysko, if you wanna go next, brother, I ain’t busy next week!
