STAMPEDE WRESTLING
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1984
1pm - 2pm
TAPED THE PREVIOUS NIGHT AT THE VICTORIA PAVILION IN CALGARY, ALBERTA
ED WHALEN opens the show at ringside and welcomes us to STAMPEDE WRESTLING!
WHALEN runs down some of the matches we’ll see this week, including “Macho Man” Randy Savage making his Stampede debut, brothers Leo and Bobby Burke challenging the Masters of Disaster for the North American Tag Team titles, and Bobby Duncum and Jim Neidhart facing the Masked Superstar and the Super Destroyer, with the stipulation that the loser of the fall will lose either his hair or mask!
RANDY “MACHO MAN” SAVAGE V. GERRY MORROW, JIP – Savage makes short work of Morrow, not even giving Morrow a chance to remove his ring jacket! Savage puts his opponent away with the flying elbowdrop.
After the match, Whalen climbs into the ring and interviews RANDY SAVAGE. Savage says he’s come to Stampede because this is where the best wrestlers in the world are. He says that he’s watched that little rat, Bret Hart, running around here, calling himself the North American champion, he’s watched the Hart mafia control this territory with an iron fist, they’ve run good men like Bad News Allen out of the area, but they won’t run the Macho Man out! He says that he’ll go through the entire Hart mafia, one by one, until he’s holding the North American title!

NORTH AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
KERRY BROWN & KELLY KINISKI (Champions) (w/ JR Foley) V. BOBBY & LEO BURKE, JIP – We join the match at about the 12-minute mark. The action goes back and forth, but in the end, the Champions retain their titles when Brown drops Bobby Burke on his head with the Piledriver for the pinfall, just prior to the 20-minute time limit.
WHALEN talks about the feud that started recently, between World Mid-Heavyweight Champion “Exotic” Adrian Street and the Dynamite Kid.
VTR: this past Wednesday night, Street defended the title against Dynamite Kid in Regina, Saskatchewan. We see the final moments of the match, with Street taking a beating. Street finally has had enough, he rolls out of the ring, grabs the title and walks off!
WHALEN says that Street walked out of the Auditorium in Regina, and he kept walking, right out of Stampede Wrestling! Street has not been heard from since Wednesday night, and as a result, the World Mid-Heavyweight title has been vacated. A decision will be made soon, as to the future of the title, but as of right now, the title is vacant.

WHALEN talks about the red-hot blood feud that has been raging for some time now, with the masked team of the Masked Superstar and the Super Destroyer on one side, and the double-tough duo of Jim Neidhart and Bobby Duncum on the other side!
Clips are shown of the various matches and angles involving the Superstar, Super Destroyer, Duncum and Neidhart.
WHALEN talks about today’s main event, a tag team match between the two teams, with the stipulation that the loser of the fall will lose either his mask, or his hair, depending on who it is.
HAIR VS MASK MATCH:
BOBBY DUNCUM & JIM NEIDHART V. THE MASKED SUPERSTAR & SUPER DESTROYER, JIP – We join the match at the 10-minute mark. When we join the match, Neidhart has been busted open, and there are pools of blood on the mat. Neidhart is desperately trying to tag out, but the Superstar and Super Destroyer are just toying with him at this point, letting him get almost close enough to tag, before dragging him back to their corner.
Out of nowhere, Neidhart gets his second wind, and drops the Super Destroyer with a big clothesline, and makes a mad dash to his corner . . . but the Masked Superstar has distracted the referee! Referee Cedric Hathaway doesn’t see the tag, and he won’t let Duncum come in! While Hathaway is getting Duncum out of the ring, the two masked men double-team Neidhart, pounding him into the mat!
Neidhart eventually is able to make the tag, and this time the referee does see it. Duncum comes in and tears into both the masked men with rights and lefts. Cedric Hathaway forces the Masked Superstar out of the ring, leaving Super Destroyer alone with Duncum, and the big cowboy pummels the masked man from pillar to post!
In the end, Duncum connects with a vicious Lariat on the Super Destroyer, and covers him for the 1, 2, 3! The Masked Superstar tried to break up the cover, but Neidhart flew into the ring and cut Superstar off.
Bobby Duncum and Jim Neidhart are victorious . . . and that means the Super Destroyer is going to have to unmask!
Super D throws a fit in the ring, complaining to the referee about Duncum having a handful of his trunks. When Hathaway doesn’t buy it, Super D kicks the ropes, then jumps out of the ring and tries to leave!
The babyface locker room empties, and they make sure that Super D can’t leave! They force him back into the ring, where Jim Neidhart and Bobby Duncum rip the mask off of Super D revealing . . . BARRY DARSOW.

Back from the break, ED WHALEN is in the ring, and he interviews BOBBY DUNCUM and JIM NEIDHART. Duncum talks about the win, and says that they got the mask off of the Super D, he’s through here in Calgary, and Duncum then challenges the Masked Superstar to face him next week . . . in a loser leaves town match!
Neidhart says that they beat the masked men, just like they said they would, and now they’re setting their sights on the North American Tag Team titles!
After Neidhart and Duncum leave, WHALEN is joined in the ring by North American Champion BRET HART. Bret talks about the comments made earlier in the show by Randy Savage, and says that he’s never backed down from a challenge, and he won’t start now. He says that any time Savage wants a shot at his title, all he’s got to do is sign on the dotted line!
Bret then talks about next week’s show, where he will team with Leo Burke to challenge Kerry Brown and Kelly Kiniski for the North American Tag Team titles. Bret says that he’ll be a double champion after all is said and done next week!
WHALEN says we’re out of time for this week, and talks about next week’s show, which, as we just heard, will feature Bret Hart and Leo Burke challenging for the North American Tag Team titles!
