Wrestle Annual III
"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo are proud to welcome us all to the Madison Square Garden Felt Forum in Manhattan, New York for Eastern Championship's third annual Mega-Event; Wrestle Annual III! This historic date of course marking the third anniversary of ECW! And for such a momentous occasion they've got an all-star line up of matches for us here tonight!
Not only will all of Eastern Championship's Titles be on the line tonight; but we'll also see William Regal battle Eddie Guerrero in what's sure to be a wrestling classic! And in two ring covered in exposed steel; The Dark Circle's villainous leader Papa Shango will lead "Blackjack" Barry Windham and "The Man-Beast" Rhino into final battle against the splintered Dark Circle faction; The Circus of Doom! Will "The Ring Master" Matt Borne and Pogo the Clown be able to prevail? Or will this be the last time they're seen in an ECW ring? And just who is this "other" Borne says will join them in their fight here tonight?
On the Championship front Tag-Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer will attempt to keep their year long reign with the belts intact as they confont a stiff challenge in the time of "Ravishing" Rick Rude and "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam; The World's Finest! The Light Heavyweight Champ "Lone Wolf" Dean Malenko will have never felt more isolated as he has to conquer not one, but two men in Aryan von Raschke and "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri to retain his Title! "The Macho Man" Randy Savage looks to defeat the one man he's been unable to defeat in single combat as he tries to reclaim the Eastern States Title from the man who defeated him for the belt back in December; "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit! And in a monstrous Main Event anywhere in the world; ECW Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson will battle one of the new generation's brightest stars in "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jerich; a man who only just injured him a couple weeks ago! Will they give Jericho the edge he needs to beat Double A? Or will the Eastern Heavyweight Champion once again prevail?
But first we meet the ECW Women's Champion "Gorgeous" Michel Starr. A person many have trouble calling a man; but is definitely not a woman; who's run roughshod over the Women's Division since winning Title back in May. Since then his hubris and outright arrogance have gotten Starr into more than his share of trouble, but the wily Champ has always come out on top. Tonight his flambouyant actions may have finally led to him biting off more than he can chew when ECW President Eric Bischoff turned "The Gorgeous One's" own words against him and pitted him in this 10 on 1 Handicap Match! Starr must be pinned to lose the Title; but the odds of him escaping with the belt seem daunting to say the least. Tonight we'll see if Michele is indeed as good as his word and can "beat any ten women on the roster at once."
Joel Gertner then makes the intros for the first match of the night.
Women's Championship Handicap Match: Michele Starr (c) vs. Jacqueline Moore, Lisa Moretti, Beulah McGillicutty, Tiffany, Leilani Kai, Debbie Combs, Brandi Wine, Rockin' Robin, La Diabolica; & Velvet McIntyre

"Gorgeous" Michele Starr comes down to the ring and receives a chorus of boos. He hands Joe E. Legend his Title and boa before entering the ring and adjusting his protective Phantom of the Opera style face mask. Young rookie Brandi Wine starts things off and we're told by the announcers tha the women drew straws prior to the match to determine who got first crack at Starr. And Brandi goes right on the offensive catching Michele completely off-guard! She hammers on Starr for a good bit and pulls his hair numerous times before hitting him with a sidewalk slam and the cover!
But Michele kicks out! Wine traps Starr in a back, but he rallies back and getting to his feet he kicks Brandi in the gut and hammers her head into the mat with a vicious DDT! He hooks her leg! 1!... 2!...
Lisa Moretti and Jacqueline Moore jump in the ring and stomp Starr off her! Davis escorts both women back to their very crowded corner while Starr stirs up the crowd while continually beating on Brandi whom he has cut off from her corner. He kicks and stomps her a good bit and seems to be looking for a round of applause each time. One of these times however proves costly as Brandi grabs him from behind and hits him with a suplex! She doesn't let go however and hits another! And another! She makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Starr kicks out! Both of them stay down however and the women cheer Brandi on as she slowly crawls across the ring. And she makes it! Giving the tag to Leilani Kai! The former Women's Champ immediately drags Starr kicking and screaming by his hair and throws him across the ring into the Women's corner! And as he staggers to his feet he gets pounded by a barrage of fists! Michele stumbles away to escape the onslaught and Kai lets him have it with
a big boot! All the other women are looking to be tag in now. And Debbie Combs gets it!
Leilani holds Michele steady for her and "Hot Stuff" smacks him across his face before taking him from Kai and hitting the swinging necbreaker! She then makes the tag to Velvet McIntyre who batters him into the corner before hitting him with a DDT! Michele is in all sorts of trouble as La Diabolica hits him with a Bronco Buster in the corner before tagging in the woman he beat for the Title Tiffany; who lets him have it with the Iconoclasm! Rockin' Robin flattens him with a running bulldog, Lisa Moretti lets him have it with the kneeling facebuster and knocks his face mask off his head! Starr is clutching at his face now screaming and looking for the mask when Jacqueline Moore comes in and rains down 10 punches on the exposed face of Michele Starr! She then backs up and lays him flat with a spinning heel kick! And then makes the tag to Beulah McGillicutty who immediately goes up top and launches off with the Beulahsault! And it connects! 1!... 2!...
La Diabolica and Leilani Kai have entered the ring and attack Beulah! Jacqueline and Lisa Moretti jump in to pull them off and soon the ring is a madhouse as all ten women are busy tearing one another apart in the middle of the ring! Lanny is loving the "catfight," Danny Davis doesn't seem to no what to do as he tries to restore order; and in the chaos Michele Starr is pulled from the ring by his boot by Joe E. Legend! And as Joe carries Starr to safety Davis calls for the bell throwing out the match! Ronnie Garvin and his security team show up to restore order.
Meanwhile "Mean" Gene and Lanny begin talking about the next match on the card which will see Sir William Regal square off with "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero! They begin discussing the recent history of the two men. Weeks before Guerrero arrived on the scene; Regal used his brass knucks on Eddie's Mexi-King amigo Shawn Hernandez. This act woke a fire inside the belly of Eddie Guerrero who came to ECW looking for his pound of flesh from the man from Blackpool; making his debut attacking Regal after his match at September to Remember. Since then William has squared off against the Mexi-Kings in several bloody encounters leading to their match here tonight!
Match: William Regal vs. Eddie Guerrero
Referee: S.D. Jones
William Regal and Eddie Guerrero circle about for a bit before locking it up, clearly neither man wanting to make the first mistep. "Latino Heat" gets the drop however, grabbing an arm wrench punishing Sir William's arm. Regal tries to roll out of the move, but Eddie holds firm until his opponent grabs the top rope forcing the break. The commentators meanwhile tell us how Eddie's partner in the Mexi-Kings Shawn Hernandez has been barred from ringside her tonight; which may be why we're seeing a more scientific approach from Guerrero.
William shakes off his arm before coming right for Eddie who charges in; only to be taken down by a drop toe hold! Regal with a float over grabs a quick headlock which Guerrero counters with a hammerlock pinning Regal face first to the mat! Jones is busy asking William what he wants to do, and Eddie gets his feet up on the ropes for leverage behind his back! Jones eventually sees it and scolds Eddie who transitions for a pin. 1!...
Regal kicks free and retreats to the corner where he shakes off his arm again before coming back at Eddy whom he catches in an arm wrench of his own! He keeps him trapped and drops an elbow on Eddie's prone arm as he twists him up! Eddy growls in pain before trying to somersault free, but Regal keeps on him until the third roll where Eddie reverses to another arm wrench! Okerlund says this is sound strategy from "Latino Heat." If he can't move his arm it takes the bite out of the Regal Stretch and lessens the chances of any variation of the Suplex. Regal however rolls onto the floor, hooks his legs around Eddy's arm and throws him with an armdrag! Regal is back up and the fans are behind him as Eddie gets up to one knee shaking his head.
The two men go to lock back up, but this time Regal catches Eddie with a quick knee to the gut and pulls his legs out from under him! He has Guerrero by the foot, but Eddie keeps struggling and William drops down for a side headlock! He throws the occasional punch to Eddie's face as he wrenches his neck, but Guerrero won't stop struggling. Regal tries to force a pin, but Eddie fights his way to his feet and William settles for another arm wrench. Eddie escapes with a knee to the gut and goes for a whip, but Regal puts on the breaks, pulls Eddy in and fires off with a hard left! And another! Regal hammers away before whipping Eddie across the ring; but Guerrero springboards off the ropes with a flying crossbody!
Regal ducks it however and Eddy rolls through coming up on his feet! William charges him, Eddie leapfrogs; hits the ropes and gets cut in half by a knee to the ribs from Regal! William pulls Guerrero to his feet battering his head and back before hitting the double underhook powermbomb! But Eddie grabs him by the arm and takes Regal over with an armdrag! Both men bounce back up, Guerrero charges and William throws him into the ropes; but on the rebound Eddie uses Regal's own body as a springboard to catch him with a hurrancanrana! And a dropkick sends a stunned Regal back into the ropes! It only grazes him however and William grabs Eddie's legs out from under him and leans on them for a pin! 1!... 2!...
Eddie grabs Regal's head between his legs and flips him over for a pin of his own! But Regal kicks out! Okerlund can't believe what we're seeing and says this is a whole new side to Eddy we're seeing here tonight. Shades of Lanny Poffo according to "The Genius." Both men are back up, quick jab from Regal sends Eddie reeling and a club to the back sends him down to the mat. A stomp and several punches as William pulls Eddie to his feet and whips him across the ring! Regal is waiting, but Eddie grabs the ropes stopping himself and charging forward hammers away on Regal's back before pulling his legs out from under him! And wraps him up for a pin! Barely gets a two. Both men are back up and Regal takes Guerrero back down with a forearm smash. Couple stomps and punches as Eddie gets back to his feet followed by a knee strike and Regal is in control. William pulls Eddie out of the corner and lays him out with a suplex and the cover! 1!... 2!...
Eddie gets the shoulder up! Regal pulls him back up to his feet and pounds his opponent against the ropes. He then throws him down to the mat and grabs a headlock for a bit working on Guerrero's neck before hitting a double foot stomp on his head which gets him a warning from the ref. Guerrero is back up on his knees and Regal begins firing off some punches. Eddie with a shot to the gut and he's fighting his way back into this one! William grabs a double chickenwing to stop him, but Guerrero drops down to the canvas and tries to throw William with his legs! Regal however sits down for a one count! Before Eddie rolls him over for a two! Both men pop back up William charges in with an elbow that drops Eddie and follows it up with an elbow drop and the cover! 1!.. 2! Eddie kicks out! He fights off a second and third cover attempts; bu William Regal turns him over and locks in the Regal Stretch arm-trap cross legged STF! Guerrero is feeling the hurt now! And he's trying to get to the ropes!
But just then Shawn Hernandez shows up with...
Chavo Guerrero Jr.?! And the two men begins putting the boots to Regal! S.D. Jones calls for the bell as Eddie gets to his feet and begins joining in the stomp out! The Guerreros help Hernandez get Regal up and he powerbombs him in the middle of the ring!
But just then they're attacked as the fans begin to cheer for Scott Taylor and Tully Blanchard who run the Mexi-Kings from the ring!
Regal gets back up on his feet as the duo argue with the trio who remain on the outside and thanks Tully and Taylor before the announcers begin hyping the next match.
Okerlund and Poffo talk about the Tag-Team Title reign of the Champions "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer and "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes who beat the Baron's team The Ubermensch a year ago at Wrestle Annual II and by hook or by crook have held on to the Titles for a record 365 days. Lanny says that "crooks" is a perfect desctiption of the Tag-Team Champs. However he has no doubt in his mind they will soon be the former Champs as they square off against World's Finest here tonight. The team of former ECW Champ "Ravishing" Rick Rude and former Eastern States Champ "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam was seemingly cemented during their Tag-Team elimination match with the Dark Circle at Showdown in Charlotte and the duo have been inseperable since racking up win after win including a victory over the Ubermensch a couple weeks ago in a # 1 Contnder's Match; with the winner getting a shot at Dreamer and Rhodes' Tag-Team Titles here tonight!
Tag-Team Title Match: Dustin Rhodes & Tommy Dreamer w/ Beulah vs. Rick Rude & Rob Van Dam

"Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam might've been willing to share a drink with the Tag-Team Champs this past Wednesday, but not tonight. When Dustin Rhodes offers him the flask, Rob smacks it out of his hands before pointing to his shoulders while the fans chant "Rob! Van! Dam!" Dustin smiles at this, wiping his mouth; and fires off with a punch and the battle is joined! He and RVD pummel one another into the ropes and Rhodes whips Van Dam into the ropes and ducks for a back body drop; but Rob rolls over him and hits the ropes behind him and surprises "The American Nightmare" with a springboard crossbody! Dustin however proves himself to be a good foil for Rob's innovative offense, getting his knees up for the Rolling Thunder; and catching his second leg for a step-up enziguiri leaving Rob to slam down on the mat where Dustin locks in a Sleeper hold. The two men battle back and forth until Rob gets his clock cleaned with a running bulldog and just escapes a pin attempt. He gets trapped in the corner by Rhodes afterward, but escapes via a Monkey Flip and makes the hot tag to "Ravishing" Rick Rude!
Rude and Rhodes are no strangers to one another in the ring; having battled over the United States Championship in WCW in the early '90s. Their time in the ring here shows shades of their classic chemistry, but it's short-lived as a tired Dustin Rhodes manages to tag out to Tommy Dreamer after just managing to escape Rude's figure four leglock! Dustin used the ropes to crawl back up to his feet and as Rick charged in, he back body dropped him out of the ring to the floor below! "The Ravishing One" stayed down however helping Tommy Dreamer to gain a big advantage as he pummeled the challenger on the outside and was soon joined by Dustin Rhodes. The two men were too busy however to notice Rob Van Dam make his way onto the apron, hop onto the second rope and connect with a springboard moonsault which sent all three men sprawling to the floor! Rob and Rude were back up first and though dazed, they pulled "The Innovator of Violence" up to his feet and rolled him back into the ring just beating a 10 count!
Climbing back inside Rude began wailing on Tommy Dreamer whom he beat about the ring, hammering on his neck and head before taking him by the hair and hammering his face into the top turnbuckle 1! 2! 3! 4! 5! times before climbing up to the second rope and letting him have it with a diving knee drop! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!... Dreamer kicks out just before the three! Rude pulls Tommy back up to his feet and tags Rob in and the duo hit him with a double suplex before Rick points up top! Rob cockily heads up top, points to his shoulders as the fans chant his name; and leaping off connects with the 5-Star Frog Splash! 1!... 2!...
Dreamer somehow kicks out of there and Lanny says that the Tag Champs have always had more guys than brains. Especially Tommy. Rob can't believe it, but locks in a side headlock to where "The Innovator" down and he quickly begins to fade. The ref raises his arm and it drops! Then it drops again! And the thir- no, wait! Tommy is shaking his fist in the air! And he's rallying back! He forces his way to his feet and escapes with a back elbow before running the ropes and drops Rob with a lariat takedown as they both charge in! They're both down, but they slowly make their way up to their feet and begin slugging it out! Rob gets the drop on Dreamer however and grabs him in a front headlock as Tommy forces him into the Champs' corner. Dreamer doesn't see it, but Dustin who's taken another swig from the flask, belts Van Dam on the back of the head with it! Davis must've been busy examining Beulah's outfit or something because he didn't see it and Tommy Dreamer scoops Rob up onto his shoulders, staggers into the middle of the ring; and hits the Fireman's Carry Slam! He hooks RVD's legs and 1!... 2!... 3! The Champs have retained the Titles!
Beulah enters the ring and hugs Tommy as the Champs celebrate their win while Rick Rude argues with Davis who has no idea what the former ECW Champ is talking about.
After this ECW cuts to a commercial where Honky Tonk Man and "Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff hae an important announcement to make this evening as coming to a Wal-Mart or Sam Goody near you this week will be ECW's Greatest Hits vo. 9: The Road to Hotter Than Hell on VHS! This hot new release can also be bought direct by calling 1-800-BUYECW! They then reveal the match listing!

Bringing us back to ringside, "Mean" Gene Okerlund and Lanny once again thank us for joining them here at the Madison Square Garden Felt Forum for ECW's third anniversary at the biggest event of the year; Wrestle Annual III! They recap the exciting action so far including "Gorgeous" Michele Starr retaining the Women's Championship, William Regal defeating Eddie Guerrero by DQ; and the Tag-Team Championship match in which the Tag-Team Champs Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes successfully defended their Titles against World's Finest.
They then begin hyping the next match of the night which will feature one of the most dangerous match types in this sport; War Games! They talk about the Dark Circle; a force that once dominated nearly every facet of Eastern Championship Wrestling and how that faction has splintered since September to Remember when "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone attacked the Dark Circle's sinister leader "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango! With his betrayal, the faction split into two groups, the Dark Circle loyalists; and Brimstone's group which contained most of the Circus of Doom! The CoD's leader remained loyal to Shango for a time, but in-fighting within the Circle soon led to his siding with his old stablemates and the exit of "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle!
The continued depletion of his forces led Shango into a rage against the Dark Circle's former members and he systematically eliminated Vyle with the mysterious fluid from his cauldron, Brimstone by fire; and "Mad Dog" Luna Vachon in what may have been the most heinous act of all. While forcing her longtime mate Matt Borne to watch, Shango along with "Blackjack" Barry Windham and "The Man-Beast" Rhino physically tore Luna apart. While Shango has sworn to make Matt Borne's life a living hell; "The Ring Master" has sworn to end Shango's here tonight as he teams with Pogo the Clown and a mystery opponent against the remaining three member of the Dark Circle within the confines of a double steel cage! Will this mystery partner even the odds against Shango, Windham; and Rhino or will the Dark Circle be adding three more corpses to their funeral pyre here tonight?
War Games Match: The Dark Circle Papa Shango, Barry Windham, & Rhino vs. Matt Borne, Pogo the Clown, &

"Mean" Gene would almost bet S.D. Jones is happy to be on the outside of the ring for this one. "The Ring Master" Matt Borne starts things out for his team and though he tries to goad Papa Shango into the cage, ends up squaring off against "The Man-Beast" Rhino! The two men are pretty evenly match and beat the hell out of one another through both rings. Borne seems to be concentrating on Rhino's legs, trapping him more than once in the Stump Puller single legged Boston Crab while Rhino himself relies on power moves, at one point almost knocking Matt clear out of his boots with the Gore striking spear! Toward the end of the 5 minute period "The Ring Master" is setting Rhino up for a superlex; but "The Man-Beast blocks it and reverses it into a superplex that takes both competitors into the second ring! They both hit the mat awkwardly but Rhino is up first and begins handing Borne a pretty vicious beating as he repeatedly slams him headfirst into the cage.
Just then we're taken backstage where ECW President Eric Bischoff and Ronnie Garvin are on hand for senior referee Danny Davis' coin toss. Shango calls
heads! But it ends up tails! Pogo the Clown begins giggling uncontrollably as he lumbers toward the ring.
Rhino is busy stomping a mudhole into Borne when the big man Pogo the Clown enters! At this point Okerlund and Poffo speculate on whether or not there is indeed a third man on their side. If not, Lanny thinks this is suicide by steel cage on Borne's part! "The Man-Beast" meanwhile stops what he's doing and goes right after Pogo! He lets loose with the punchs, but Pogo no-sells it! Rhino then runs about the ring and charges in with the Gore striking spear! But this seems to only make Pogo mad and he begins unloading on Rhino! He beats and throws him about the ring before Burying Him in the Basement! Then he Buries Him again! And a third time! Matt Borne is now back up and stops him. He pulls Rhino up to his feet and "The Man-Beast" spits blood in Borne's face! Matt slugs Rhino and then pulling him up to his feet hits a running powerbomb right into the steel cage! But the buzzer sounds and in comes...
"Blackjack" Barry Windham! And he goes right after Pogo the Clown and Matt Borne! He lets both of them have it with several punches before clonking their heads together! He then whips Borne into the ropes! And then whips Pogo into Matt! Barry then charges across the ring and lets Pogo have it with a dropkick! Both men spill over the top rope into the first ring! Windham then goes to check on Rhino and helps him too his feet. Smart man according to Okerlund; there's no way you're winning a match this brutal alone. Rhino seems to be moving with some difficulty; but as Pogo the Clown attempts to get to his feet he begins stomping him right back down to the mat! Barry does the same to Borne and whips him hard into the corner where he climbs up onto the second rope and begins hammering Matt's head in with punches busting him open! He then helps Rhino pulls Pogo the Clown up to his feet and they let him have it with a double Spike Piledriver! Victory seems assured when the bell ring...
And nobody shows up? Barry and Rhino are grinning like idiots now when there's a commotion in the audience and through the crowd comes a man decked out in black! He's got a black mask concealing his head and it looks like a demon. Rhino and Barry are ready though as the big man plods through the audience and climbs over the barricade! Just then however Matt Borne comes crashing down on Windham and Rhino with a diving double clothesline off the top! All three men hit the ground, but Barry is up first and when he gets back up to one knee the newcomer is standing above him and grabs Barry around the throat! And hits a Chokeslam from Hell! He then pulls Rhino to his feet and sends him right to Hell too! Okerlund and Poffo can't believe the power of this man! Windham crawls back up to one knee, but the masked man begins hammering away! But this time Barry fires back! And they're throwing punches all around the ring! Trapping him in the corner the newcomer grabs Barry by the throat with both hands and starts choking him out! The bell ring and he tosses him aside! He extends his arm toward Papa Shango and beckons him on!
But Papa Shango wants no part of it! He turns to run, but behind him is "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam and over half the damned locker room are with them!
They grab Shango up into the air and carry him to the cage! He's going crazy in a rage and they throw him inside and Garvin locks the door behind him! Papa rattles the cage door pissed and screaming! The crowd begins to cheer even louder and Shango turns wide-eyed toward the masked man! Shango goes to leave, but the big man begins unloading with the punches! Shango retreats across the ring and the big man comes charging in! But this time Papa is waiting for him and lets him have it with a knee to the gut! He begins hammering the man down to one knee, but the newcomer begins to no-sell the offense and getting back to his face begins trading blows! Papa is clearly getting the worst of it and gets clotheslined over the top rope into the next ring!
Barry Windham and Rhino are now back up and standing side by side with Shango! "The Soul Stealer" feels better now and he beckons the big man on! But he doesn't expect the huge man to slingshot himself over the top rope and take all three men down with a vicious clothesline! But that's just what he does! He's up on one knee now and pulls Papa up to his feet, but Rhino and Barry are right there and though he fends the trio off for a bit; the number's game catches up to him! And Shango cackles in glee as he, Windham; and "The Man-Beast" beat and stomp the big man down! Papa Shango begins yelling at him! He has Rhino and Barry pull him up to his knees and grabs him by the head! He then pulls off them mask! And Papa's eyes go crossed! It's Brimstone! "The Dark Prophet" is back!
Shango grabs him by the head and begins clawing his face! But Brimstone spits in his face! And lets loose with the Voodoo Mist! Shango shreiks in pain as he goes down to the mat clawing at his blinded eyes! Barry and Rhino go to check on the boss; but this gives Brimstone just the opening he needed and he begins pounding on Rhino! Then Windham! He hoists grabs Barry Windham off his feet and hits a pumphandle slam! He then grabs Rhino by the throat and gives him a second Chokeslam from Hell! With their opponents down now he helps Matt Borne up to his feet and together they pull Pogo th Clown back up. They then stand over Papa Shango and "The Dark Prophet" pulls him to his feet! He begins pounding on Shango! And chases him into the other ring! Brimstone turns to say something to his allies and the Circus of Doom begins stomping Windham and Rhino out!
Papa Shango is on the run trying to open the cage door again! But Brimstone catches up with him and begins pounding on him! Shango however begins fighting back! And clawing at the face of Brimstone, drops to his knees and from behind hits a low blow! Papa Shango lets loose with a war cry before running the ropes and charging back takes Brimstone down to the mat hard with a Lou Thesz Press! He then reaches into his robes! Okerlund thinks that he's going for the cauldron; but instead "The Soul Stealer produces a sacrificial blade! What the hell's he doing?! Okerlund is calling for security! But Shango has the blade raised over his head with both hands and is chanting some sort of crazy shit! He bends his elbows and thrusts down! But at the last second Brimstone's arm shoots up and his hand wraps around his throat!
Shango makes a choking noise as Brimstone goes from one knee to his feet as he rips the knife from Papa's hand and in a rage runs him across the ring and slams him into the cage! "The Soul Stealer's" feet aren't touching the floor as Brimstone holds him up by the thoat with one hand! And still has the knife with the other! On the outside Ronnie Garvin and his security team are trying hard to unlock the door, but it isn't budging! "The Dark Prophet" locks eyes with Shango as he pulls back with the knife! He's going to do it!
But he stops?! Brimstone tosses the blade across the ring and it falls between the ring and the cage. Shango begins laughing maniacally. But Brimstone swings him around, takes him off his feet again and Chokeslams him to Hell! Matt Borne and Pogo then close in on him and Papa Shango isn't moving. And Jones calls for the bell! The Circus of Doom have won it!
Brimstone, Borne and Pogo the Clown hobble from the ring victorious while Barry Windham and Rhino are helped from the ring by parademics who work on Papa Shango who is soon loaded into a stretcher and carried away.
Okerlund and Poffo cannot believe the sheer brutality of the match we've just witnessed. They talk about it a bit before hyping the next match of the night which will see ECW Light Heavyweight Champion "The Lone Wolf" Dean Malenko defend his Title in a Triple Threat Match! This match type definitely doesn't favor the Champion who doesn't even have to be pinned to lose the belt! They then talk about Malenko's recent problems with all three members of The Ubermensch and say this might as well be a five on one match with The Baron von Raschke and the Blitzkrieg in Aryan von Raschke's corner and "The Diabolical" Mr. Fuji in the other. We may indeed be looking at a new Champion here tonight.
ECW Light Heavyweight Title Triple Threat Match: Dean Malenko (c) vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Aryan von Raschke

ECW Light Heavyweight Champ "The Lone Wolf" Dean Malenko comes to the ring last with his manager David Prazak in tow. All three men start things off in the ring and the battle rages back and forth between all three of them! Aryan von Raschke drops Yoshishiro Tajiri early on with a standing dropkick and "The Japanese Buzzsaw" hits a huge handspring back elbow while Aryan and Malenko are slugging it out and takes down both men! A powerbomb off the second rope gets Dean a two count on Malenko until Aryan breaks things up and takes the Champ's head off with the Sieg Heil! superkick! Dean kicks out at two and Aryan puts the boots to him only to get dropped by a springboard hurrancanrana from the apron off the top rope from "The Buzzsaw!" Tajiri then lines Dean up for the Shining Wizard, but gets grabbed from behind by Von Raschke and flattened face first with a side Russian legsweep! Aryan is quick to make the cover, but Malenko grabs him by the legs and attempts to turn him over into the Texas Cloverleaf! Aryan fights it, but Dean locks it in! And Aryan is in a world of trouble! But The Baron is busy distracting Davis and The Blitzkrieg is up on the apron and fires a meathook over the top rope sending Dean flats on his ass! This pisses Malenko off and as "Mangler's Monster" hops off the apron Dean charges across the ring and launches onto The Blitzkrieg with a tope dive!
But Blitzkrieg doesn't go down and Dean is hanging on him with a headlock and locks in a bodyscissors as the big man tries his best to detach himself from "The Lone Wolf!" Inside the ring Aryan staggers up to his feet and dropped right back down with a Frankensteiner from "The Buzzsaw!" This sets up The Shining Wizard and this time it connects and Tajiri hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
Aryan just gets his shoulder up! Dean meanwhile is still hanging on The Blitzkrieg but now The Baron is getting involved in trying to detach the 212 lb. tick. Inside the ring Aryan has pulled Yoshihiro down to the mat with a snapmare and locked in a headlock! Tajiri is fading, but he's still got some fight left in him and a distraction from Mr. Fuji takes Aryan's attention away from "The Buzzsaw" just long enough that it costs him and Tajiri throws his leg up kicking him in the head! Aryan staggers back but both him and Yoshihiro are up while out on the floor The Blitzkrieg has slammed Dean Malenko into the steel barricade and knocked him free! Dean is in the middle of getting a beatdown from The Baron and "Mangler's Monster" when Yoshihiro Tajiri hops up on the charging Aryan Von Raschke's shoulders and catches him with a Victory Roll pin! And he gets it! Yoshihiro Tajiri is the new Light Heavyweight Champion! Mr. Fuji enters the ring to celebrat with Tajiri while on the outside The Baron stops beating on Dean long enough to throw a fit.

After the advertisement Okerlund and Poffo congratulate the new Champ whom Lanny claims he taught everything he knows; but not everything "The Genius" knows of course. A regular human can only handle so much. They then hype the next match which will see "Macho Man" Randy Savage finally get his rematch against the man who beat him for the belt; "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit! Lanny reminds us that it has been completely that dolt Savage's fault he lost the Title; having interjected himself in Benoit's business just a couple nights before Showdown in Charlotte when he saved Ricky Steamboat from a beating at the hands of "The Crippler." That's the equivalent of stealing a bottle from a baby. Or a bowl of Ben & Jerry's from Mrs. Okerlund! Hey now, that's be enough of that Gene blusters. He then tells us how after that night Chris Benoit made it his mission to beat Randy Savage for the Eastern States Title; something he did just a few short weeks later at September to Remember! He handed Savage a vicious beating that night, one that kept "Macho Man" on the shelf for several weeks. Randy returned re-energized and looking for some payback; attacking Benoit after his Title match with Ron Simmons several weeks ago and let his intentions be known he would be getting his rematch right here tonight at Wrestle Annual III! Most recently Savage pinned the Champ during a Tag-Team match where he teamed with Simmons against Chris and Alex Porteau. We'll see if he can do it again here tonight.
Eastern States Championship: Chris Benoit (c) vs. Randy Savage

"Macho Man" Randy Savage emerges from the back first with "Hot Stuff" Debbie Combs and "All-American" Ron Simmons in tow. We are reminded by the announcers that Simmons is out here tonight to act as an equalizer against Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation who will also be at ringside tonight. After they pose for the crowd a bit, the Talking Heads hits and out from the back comes the Eastern States Champion "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit! He has his manager "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Alex Porteau; and "The Million Dollar Dame" Dawn Marie with him. Lanny goes ga ga over this newest member of MD INC. Benoit immediately exchanges some words with Savage as he removes his belt; but Randy is in no mood for it and charging across the ring kicks Benoit right in the gut! And the match begins! Savage immediately unloads with the punches! But Chris fires right back! Randy with a quick knee to the gut grabs the advantage and batters the Champ up against the ropes before going for the whip but Chris puts the breaks on it! Back elbow by Savage sends Benoit down to the mat and her begins to stomp "The Crippler" across the ring! Chris retreats into the corner where he fights his way out with some kicks and chops of his own. He has Randy on the run and begins beating the hell out of him in the corner. But Savage battles back and takes Chris down with some clubbing blows to the back of the head before putting the boots to the Champ once again! He pulls Benoit up to his feet and runs him head first into the turnbuckle before pulling the dazed Champ to the ropes and going for a whip; which Chris once again reverses; only this time he gets it! But he ducks too early and catches a boot to the face! Randy runs back into the ropes only to get chopped down by the Champ with a clothesline! Chris stalks his prey, grabs a front facelock, snap suplex and picking him back up hits a backbreaker over his knee before making the cover!
But he only gets a two! Randy staggers up to his feet, reverses an Irish Whip and drops the Champ with a lariat takedown! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!
Benoit powers out! The Champ isn't going down that easy. Randy stomps and pounds away on Chris as he stumbles on his feet and as he leans on the second ropes; Savage chokes him out on it! Jones puts a stop to it and Randy goes for another whip which gets reversed! Randy hits the ropes, but Ted DiBiase grabs his leg on the outside?! Savage argues with him and ends up on the receiving end of a shoulder block from Benoit! DiBiase may've just acted innocent, but that doesn't go over well with big Ron Simmons who has a word or three with him at ringside. And Benoit with the pin! 1!... 2!
Randy gets the shoulder up! Savage rolls out to the apron and Benoit uses the top rope for leverage as he stomps the challenger out while Jones does his best to stop it! Benoit pushes him away and stomps him again before getting in a verbal war with the ref. And while Jones is distracted; Alex Porteau lets Randy have it with a couple shots to the face! Ron Simmons goes right after the young grappler though and chases him around the ring! Benoit now climbs out and begins beating Randy down on the outside. Savage eventually manages to retreat around the ring and as Chris follows him he fires back! And "Macho Man" slams the Champ face first into the steel barricade! He goes for a whip, but Chris counters by sending Randy shoulder first into the steel ringpost! Chris continues to beat on Randy who falls onto the commentating table! And picking up a steel chair, Benoit slams him with it! Okerlund asks where the hell is the referee? But Jones is too busy being distracted by DiBiase to have seen it! And Benoit tosses Randy into the ring and makes the cover! 1! 2!
Savage kicks out! Benoit helps Randy to his feet and goes for an arm wrench, but Savage begins firing off with the punches! Chris keeps on him though and kicking him to the floor locks in an armbar on the same arm that hit the ringpost! And Savage is screaming in pain! But Randy is fighting it and gets is arm back while Benoit tries to reapply the hold! "The Crippler" gives up and makes with some stomps as Randy gets to his feet before taking "Macho Man" to Chop City! He beats Randy down as the fans cheer the challenger on and goes for a whip! But Randy reverses it and drops Benoit with a running high knee right over the top rope! Chris hits the apron and rolls back in, but both men are down! Both men stagger up to their feet but Rany is up first, swings and he misses as Benoit drops him on his neck with another suplex! And the cover! 1!... 2!
Randy gets his shoulder up! Chris with the stomps tries to keep Savage down, but "Macho" connects with a boot to the bread basket and drops him with a DDT! And Savage makes the cover! But Dawn Marie is now up on the apron?! Jones is yelling at her to get down, but that doesn't happen until Debbie Combs pulls her off the apron and slaps her across the face! The two women begin pulling hair while Simmons and DiBiase move to break it up. Meanwhile Randy gets up to gets Jones back in the game and Benoit pops up and takes him down from behind with the Crippler Crossface! Savage is in some real trouble now! He inches his way forward toward the ropes! But they're too far away! He move back and then to the side! Pain is etched across his face!
But he makes it! The fans begin to cheer! But Chris doesn't let go until Jones is forced to pull him off! Benoit screams at the ref for a bit while Randy gets up only to get the hell Chopped out of him in the corner by "The Crippler." But Randy reverses it and begins firing off some punches! Benoit is hung up in the corner and Randy runs across the ring and charging in connects with the running high knee! And staying up on the second rope he begins raining down the punches! 1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6! 7! 8! 9! 10! He backs up and Benoit hits the floor, he pulls him into the center of the ring and nails him with an atomic drop! Chris stumbles up to his feet and Randy scoops him up for the Piledriver! And he hooks the leg! 1!... 2!....
Chris kicks out! The Champ kicks out! Randy can't believe it. He picks Chris back up and whips him into the ropes, but Benoit ducks a clothesline; but on the rebound Randy doesn't miss with an inverted atomic drop! Benoit staggers to his feet and Randy charges across the ring and takes him out to the floor with a huge clothesline! Randy then runs the ropes, charges again and slams a recovering Benoit back down to the floor with a tope dive! Both men are down for a bit, but surprisingly Chris is up first and he looks to be staggering to the back! Randy however isn't far behind and begins fighting him on the ramp! He gets Chris back into the ring, but he gets nailed from behind by...
Steve Corino?! What the hell is he doing out here?!! He stomps on Savage for a bit before Porteau joins in while DiBiase and Dawn once again distract
Jones! They then roll Randy back into the ring just as Ron Simmons catches up with the dup and hammer both Porteau and Corino down to the mat with some big fists! Inside the ring meanwhile Savage stumbles up and backs right into a bridging German Suplex Benoit! He keeps Randy locked in and hits another! And a third one which he bridges for the pin! But Jones still isn't there?!! Jones slides back inside and makes the count! 1!... 2!...
3! Chris Benoit has done it! He's beaten "Macho Man" again! Ted DiBiase has the Title which he hands to his man and the Million Dollar Corporation celebrates in the middle of the ring! Okerlund just thinks the whole thing is despicable. Lanny thanks Daffy Duck for his input.
After the ring clears "White Train" by Tito & Tarantula hits and the grand shill "Easy E" Eric Bischoff swaggers out to the ring! He thanks the fans here in
Manhattan, New York and the folks at home for making his dream Eastern Championship Wrestling such a huge success not one, not two; but three years in a row! He's very excited about the company turning three and looks to the future at next year's Wrestle Annual which he's sure will be the biggest yet! He then tells the fans in the arena as a very special thank you; every fan in attendance will be getting a free Wrestle Annual III T-Shirt! He throws a couple to the people in the front row while men appear in the aisles to hand them out. Okerlund and Poffo then behing hyping the last match of the evening, the huge Main Event of Wrestle Annual III in which ECW Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson will battle the "Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho for the Eastern Heavyweight Title! They recap how Arn won the belt several months ago at Showdown in Charlotte when he beat his longtime ally and recenet enemy; then ECW Champion "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! At that same event as fate would have it "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho would lose a first ever in it's history Loser Trades Promotions match against Lord William Regal bringing him back to Eastern Championship! Later that same month Jericho would get a measure of revenge against Regal by beating him at September to Remember in a # 1 Contender's Match for the ECW Title! This of course put Jericho on a collision course with Arn Anderson!
Since then Chris has gone out of his way to make himself a thorn in Double A's side, to burrow himself under the Champ's skin like a tick. Always mocking Arn, he rated his matches with score cards, he impersonated the Champ during promos; and even tried to interfere with his matches. This was all seemingly part of a plot on the part of "The Loud-Mouth." While fending off "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango and several other opponents over the past couple of months Arn grew sick of Chris' antics and began attacking him at every opportunity. This all culminated in a vicious and seemingly planned attack two weeks ago when Chris Jericho went out of his way to injure the arm of "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson which he savagely crushed between unforgiving steel when he slammed it between a chair and the barricade up on the ramp. Arn has since seen multiple doctors and medical personnel on staff who have stated explicitly it would not be in his best interest to compete. But against Doctor's orders, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson is looking to teach "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho a lesson here tonight! Thunderkiss '65 by White Zombie then hits!

Chris explodes from the back and heads down to the ring where he poses for the fans! They're mostly boos, but he gets his share of cheers too.
Gertner: And now introducing at this time weighing 255 lbs. from Rome, Georgia; he is the Eastern Heavyweight Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson!
Main Event ECW Championship Match: Arn Anderson (c) vs. Chris Jericho

Arn Anderson's arm is wrapped up from Jericho's attack two weeks ago and Lanny thinks that going to be the difference maker here tonight; but Gene isn't sure. Arn Anderson is sure to be in one foul mood and he certainly wouldn't want to be Chris Jericho right now. Or ever really. The match starts and Jericho goes right after the arm! Arn sees it coming however and gets out of the way. He's obviously carrying it funny however. The two men then lock up and Arn immediately forces Chris into the corner! But "The Loud-Mouth" uses the arm to reverse positions before Arn fights his way out of the corner with several clubbing blows with his good arm. Jericho smiles before charging the Champ again! Arn once again sidesteps, but on Chris' next pass; he drops him with a hard right! And another! And another! He backs him into the ropes, whips him across the ring; and big back body drop to Jericho! He keeps right on top of the challenger, applying an arm wrench to pull him up to his feet before stomping him down to the ground! Another arm wrench and another stomp to the ground! It's obvious Double A is looking to even the score as he keeps one foot on Chris' chest as he twists his arm off! Chris rolls out to escape to the corner however and as Arn comes after him he lets the Champ have it with a kick to the gut. And chops his way out! He chopping Arn's bad arm as he backs into the ropes and grabs it for a hard Irish whip! But "The Enforcer" reverses it! But Chris ducks the clothesline and Arn switches to the bad arm before hitting the second attempt! And he reels from the pain! The Champ as hurt himself! Jericho meanwhile is collecting his thoughts on the ropes and a pissed AA charges in for the kill, but Chris sees him coming and throws him up and over the top rope! And Arn crashes to the floor below! Chris is back in the game however and climbing up top gestures to the booing crowd that he's getting the Title!
This showboating costs him however as Arn hops up onto the apron, grabs Jericho and tosses him from the top rope into the steel barricade below! He falls into the fans which is where Anderson grabs him in a front headlock and pulling him back over the barricade hits a suplex out on the floor! Arn slides in long enough to break up the count before heading over to the announcer's booth?! And he is ordering Gene and Lanny out of there! And heading over to Chris he grabs him by the hair and drags him, but Jericho hits the bad arm again! And he kicks it! And he kicks it again! Anderson escapes into the ring, but "The Loud-Mouth" keeps right after the Champ and charging him hits the arm with a shoulder block! Arn is now down on the ground and Chris looks rather pleased with himself as he begins kicking and stomping the hell out of the arm! He drapes it across the ropes and stomps on it! Davis tries to call Jericho off, but he begins arguing with the ref! He doesn't see Anderson get back up and as Jericho turns he gets hit hard with a shoulder tackle! And on top of him now, Arn begins hammering Chris into the mat with punches! He then grabs the arm he has been working on and begins pounding it with stomps and knee drops! Jericho fights his way to his feet, but Anderson keeps working on his arm as he beats the challenger around the ring! Arn uses the bad arm, shakes it off; and grabs Jericho by the head. But Chris returns the favor and rakes the Champ's eyes! He then comes in for another punch, bu Arn ducks it and scooping up "The Loud-Mouth" hits him with a shoulderbreaker! He then grabs the arm and locks in an armbar! Chris is screaming in pain! Is he going to tap?!
No! He's made it to the ropes! Arn is trying to pull him back into the middle of the ring, but Chris is holding onto the bottom rope for dear life! And one of his wild kicks hits home nailing the arm! And as "The Enforcer" grabs at it, Chris rushes to his feet and nails him with a bulldog! Chris is sitting up and back on his feet he drags the angry Champ by his bad arm into the corner and sliding outside he slams the arm into the steel ringpost! Arn tries to fight out, but Chris clocks him before doing it again! Davis wants Jericho back in the ring and gets it as Anderson falls out to the floor. And the ref begins the count! 1! 2! 3! 4! But Chris wants the belt and climbing out rolls Arn back inside! Anderson rolls back up onto his knees and Jericho hammers him in the head! But the Champ fires back and the two men are slugging it out and knocking Anderson down to the mat; Chris locks in an armbar! He's going to break Anderson' damned arm! "The Enforcer" however is refuses to quit! Jericho keeps putting on the pressure, occasionally wrenching the bandaged arm and slamming it into the mat. And Arn's hand begins to hover the mat! Arn goes for the hair! But Davis smacks him away! Anderson looks ready to tap!
Jericho has got it! He transitions, stretching the arm over his head! But AA still isn't tapping!
Chris lets go and getting up stomps the arm some more before pulling Arn up and slamming him down to the mat with an armdrag! And he does it again! And again! Anderson looks to escape to the corner, but Jericho slides on out again and grabbing Double A's arm looks to slam it into the steel ringpost again! And in spite of Davis' protests he does it again! Chris then wraps Arn's arm around the ringpost and applies another armbar! Arn is screaming in pain now as his head and shoulder are pulled against the metal while Chris just hangs there tugging on the arm! Davis is screaming for him to stop and begins a 5 count! Chris stops at 3 and Davis orders him back into the ring. Chris takes his time and yells at the booing fans before coming after Arn who is back up on one knee and hammers him with a hard right to the gut! And Arn hits another! Anderson is back up on his feet! But his arm is hanging dead at his side. And he's pounding on Jericho! But "The Loud-Mouth" slides forward and drops him with a toe hold! And he grabs the bad arm again! Armbreaker! Chris is getting cockier (is it possible?) and begins taunting Arn by nudging his head with his boot. He then grabs the arm and applies another armbar! Davis is telling the Champ to tap, but Anderson is refusing to do it! Jericho gets up and kicks the arm before looking to apply the hold again, but this time Arn rolls up to one knee and pushes Jericho into the corner with both arms! And Chris goes shoulder first into the unforgiving steel! It takes both men a
while to get back up, but Chris does it first and charges the Champ! But Arn ducks the clothesline and hits a neckbreaker!
Both men however are right back up. Arn hammers on Jericho, but Chris counters with kicks to the bad arm! There's no quit in Anderson however and as "The Loud-Mouth" runs the ropes he takes him down hard with a clothesline! And he makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Chris gets the shoulder up! Arn is back up with some punches but is looking awfully tired. He whips Jericho into the... no Jericho reverses! But so does Arn! And "The Enforcer" plants Jericho with a DDT! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
3! No! Jericho got his shoulder up at the last second! Both men are down for a while, but as they crawl to their knees Chris is up first and charges the Champ! But Arn Anderson hits the big Double A Spinebuster! And they're both down again! Davis begins the count! 1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6! 7! 8! Arn Anderson is back up and he climbs on top of Jericho for the cover! 1! No! It doesn't even get a one because Chris grabs Arn by the bad arm, flips him over and locks in the armbar! "The Enforcer" is screaming in pain! But he's fighting it! Chris twists the arm more and more as Arn's hand begins hovering the mat! And he taps! Arn Anderson has given up! Chris Jericho is the new ECW Champion!
