-We go now to Channel 5 Studios here in Memphis to Lance Russell and Dave Brown-
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to “Championship Wrestling ‘84”. They show footage of Southern Tag Team Champions “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and Tommy Gilbert walking out of their title match with Robert Gibson and Ricky Gibson. Jimmy Hart leads the Gilberts out and they all look pleased as punch. Jimmy boasts that he pinned Jos LeDuc last week and that The Gilberts are still the Southern Tag Team Champions. Lance notes that both of those results were highly controversial. Eddie Gilbert denies any controversy and says that the fact is that he and his “dear father” are still the champions.
Eddie Marlin makes his way out to the studio and says Jimmy Hart and the Gilberts should be very proud of the stunts that they pulled. However, this Monday night things might not go so well because firstly The Gilberts will defend against The Gibsons again – this time in a Best 2/3 Falls Match! Eddie Gilbert and Tommy Gilbert don’t like that one bit, but Eddie Marlin shushes them by revealing that he is not done.
Also this Monday, there will be a No DQ, No Count Out match between Jos LeDuc and “Ravishing” Rick Rude. Jimmy Hart tells Eddie that Rude should not be put in that kind of a match with an animal like LeDuc. Eddie Marlin tells Hart that he better hope that Rude wins because if not, Jimmy will be in the ring alone for five minutes with Jos LeDuc! Hart freaks out and protests s The Gilberts argue with Eddie Marlin, who just nods and smiles at Lance Russell as he walks off!
MATCH: JOS LEDUC vs. KURT VON HESS
LeDuc defeated Von Hess via pinfall at 7:02 with the Canadian Backbreaker… The Canadian Lumberjack smiles psychotically at Jimmy Hart as he passes him and enters the ring. Hart then goes to the corner of Von Hess and roots him on to injure LeDuc. This brings out Jake “The Snake” Roberts, who stands in LeDuc’s corner. LeDuc dominates the East German wrestler and pins him after pulverizing him with a backbreaker.
Jimmy Hart runs off to the dressing room as Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Jos LeDuc make their way over to the desk. Jake warns Jimmy Hart that he has obtained a manager’s license and he will be in LeDuc’s corner this Monday to make sure that the First Family don’t stick their nose in. LeDuc then makes crazy eyes at the camera as he says he will first destroy Rude, who has been like a pest. It’s time for the pest to be exterminated! And then he will get his hands around the skinny little neck of Jimmy Hart and then he will twist, and twist and twist! LeDuc is practically foaming at the mouth as Jake Roberts looks on smiling. The Snake then says he will also be keeping a close eye on this week’s Southern Title match between King Kong Bundy and Jerry ‘The King” Lawler.

VTR: We see footage of Jerry ‘The King” Lawler surviving ten minutes with King Kong Bundy from Monday, and then handing out the money he won to the fans. Southern Heavyweight Champion King Kong Bundy is standing by with Dave Brown and he does not look pleased. Dave goes to ask a question, but Bundy just swipes the microphone away. King Kong Bundy says last Monday was a joke – the so-called King didn’t even try to wrestle him, he just ran away! As far as he is concerned, Lawler stole King Kong Bundy’s money. Bundy has never liked thieves and so he is going to take those $5000 out of Lawler’s hide this Monday night. Bundy is sick and tired of dealing with The King, The Snake and LeDuc and he says he will solve one problem by destroying Lawler in front of his beloved fans on Monday night.
MATCH ONE: SOUTHERN CHAMPION KING KONG BUNDY vs. MARK RAGIN
Bundy scored the win on Ragin via pinfall at 2:13 with the Avalanche splash… The Southern Champion brutally attacks the nephew of Rufus R. Jones and beats on him for the entirety of this short count. Bundy demands a five count to get the easy victory on Mark Ragin.
Jerry “The King” Lawler makes his way out and jaws with King Kong Bundy, who threatens that he will break Lawler in half on Monday. Lawler heads over to Lance Russell and Dave Brown at the desk, as Bundy continues to rant and rave as he makes his way to the dressing room. Lawler tells Lance that he got a moral victory over King Kong Bundy last week, but the big man still has the title belt. Lawler head Bundy huffing and puffing out earlier, but he better keep it easy before he pops. The King more seriously says that he has been waiting a long time to regain the Southern Heavyweight Title. Lawler thinks that has the momentum on his side and he knows that the people are on his side so he fully believes that he will bring home the gold on Monday night.

The new CWA Heavyweight Champion “Superstar” Bill Dundee is out with “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and Tracy Smothers at the desk. Lance congratulates Dundee on becoming the CWA Heavyweight Champion and then shows footage of the Superstar winning the strap match over Dutch Mantell. Dundee thanks Lance and all the people and says he’s proud to have shut up Dutch Mantell… at least for one night! Lance then announces that this Monday we will see Dutch team up with the Moondogs against the three men standing with him now. Wildfire says he still has a score to settle with Dutch Mantell and he doesn’t like the Moondogs either, so he is fired up and ready to kick some booty on Monday night!
MATCH: CWA CHAMPION BILL DUNDEE, TOMMY RICH & TRACY SMOTHERS vs. RANDY BARBER, JOSH STROUD & JOHN KING
Dundee gets the victory on John King via pinfall at 7:40 with the Bomb’s Away knee drop... Rich, Dundee and Smothers show excellent teamwork as they face the tough trio of Barber, King and USFL standout Josh Stroud. The finish sees Rich connect with the Lou Thesz Press and then makes the tag to the Superstar, who comes off the top rope with the Bomb’s Away knee drop.
“Ravishing” Rick Rude and Jimmy Hart are back out at the desk after the match. Rude tells Jimmy Hart to calm down because he is forgetting that the Ravishing One has defeated LeDuc before. Rick Rude then assures Jimmy Hart that he has everything under control. The rules mean that he’s free to take a chair and break it over LeDuc’s bald head or choke him out with that big logging chain. Jimmy says he is still nervous, but Rude assures him that by the end on Monday night, it will be LeDuc laying on the canvas and looking up t the lights!

The Belfast Bruiser gets the victory on Zenk via pinfall at 6:34 with the running shoulder-breaker… The imposing Finlay is guided by Sir Oliver Humperdink in this match. The Bruiser punishes Zenk and drills him into the canvas with his signature move. The Bruiser then sets his boot on Zenk chest to score the academic victory.
Sir Oliver Humperdink leads Fit Finlay to the desk. Sir Oliver first promises that Finlay will soon destroy Robert Fuller and send him back to his brother Ron’s territory in a pine box. Former CWA Heavyweight Champion Dutch Mantell is out next with The Dirty White Boy. Mantell complains about having the title stolen from him, but vows that he will soon be the champion again.
