CHRIS CRUISE opens the show at ringside, and welcomes his co-host, LEE MARSHALL.
CRUISE and MARSHALL welcome us to the historic Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, they’re happy that the fans have made the move with them to Monday nights!
This week . . . the NWA X Division title tournament continues, as #2 seed Jushin “Thunder” Liger faces the #7 seed in the tournament, Kid Kash . . . the Canadian Glamour Boys, Shane Sewell and Sean Morely, will face Cowboy Lance Cassidy and Freddie Joe Floyd . . . and in the main event, Terry Funk gets another shot at Jeff Jarrett and the NWA World title after beating Shane Douglas in a #1 contenders match last week!
CRUISE and MARSHALL talk about the incident at the beginning of last week’s show.
VTR – Last Week on NWA Total Non-Stop Action:
. . . Vader whips Ace into the far corner, then charges at him with a splash, then backs up, and squashes Ace again! Ace slumps in the corner, and Vader repeatedly drives his knee into the head of the masked man. The referee moves in to try and check on Ace, but Vader just shoves him aside, and continues to pummel American Ace.
At this point, Ace can’t even defend himself, and the referee tries to get in between them again, to force Vader back out of the corner. Once again, Vader grabs the ref and shoves him aside. This time, the referee calls for the bell, disqualifying Vader! Vader doesn’t care, he drops the ref with a big right hand, and turns his attention back to American Ace.
Ace stands and throws some punches at Vader, but there’s nothing behind them at this point. Vader grabs Ace, and tosses him out of the corner. Madusa Miceli is in the ring, and she stands between Vader and the fallen Ace, but Harvey Whippleman grabs ahold of her, and locks on a Full Nelson, forcing Madusa to watch what’s about to happen.
Vader bounces off the ropes and splashes his fallen opponent, then picks Ace up . . . and hits the Powerbomb!
Vader pulls Ace up and sets him up for another Powerbomb, when finally security personnel, a group of referees, and several wrestlers hit the ring and are able to get Vader and Whippleman to leave.
Moments later, Ace is loaded onto a stretcher and taken from the ring.
MARSHALL says that American Ace wasn’t supposed to wrestle Vader, his scheduled opponent was Chris Harris, but Harvey Whippleman and Vader paid Harris off to step aside and let Vader take the match. As we saw, it didn’t turn out well for the TV Champ.
CRUISE says that it was revealed, after Ace was checked out at a local hospital, that he suffered a pretty severe concussion in the match, and is expected to miss some time. He says that NWA Executive Vice-President Dory Funk Jr is here tonight, and he would like to address the situation.
NWA VP DORY FUNK JR then comes out and joins Cruise and Marshall at ringside. He’s carrying the NWA TV title belt.
FUNK thanks the fans for being here, and thanks the fans at home around the country watching, and making the move with them to Monday nights. He says that Cruise is right, American Ace suffered a severe concussion, and some other minor injuries, in that match with Vader. As a result, the NWA felt they had no choice but to vacate the NWA World Television title, as they’re not sure when Ace will return to the ring.
DORY says that the NWA Championship Committee has decided that there will be a Gauntlet for the Gold match in two weeks, on the December 9th edition of NWA-TNA. This match will feature 8 of the top wrestlers in the NWA. It will start out with two wrestlers in the ring, and every 90 seconds, another wrestler will enter the match. Once all 8 wrestlers are in the ring, the rules will be the same as a battle royal, where a wrestler has to be tossed over the top rope and touch the floor to be eliminated. Once it gets down to the final two competitors, they will face off in a one-on-one match, with the winner being named the new NWA World Television Champion!
FUNK then talks about Big Van Vader, saying that, for assaulting the referee at the end of the match with Ace last week, the NWA has fined Vader $25,000, and as a further punishment, he will not be included as one of the 8 participants for the Gauntlet for the Gold match.

MATCH #1
X DIVISION TITLE TOURNAMENT QUARTER-FINAL:
JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER (#2 seed) VS. KID KASH (#7 seed). Kash is early in his career, and Cruise and Marshall are sure he must be at least a little star-struck, being in the ring with Jushin Liger, who many consider to be the greatest Jr. Heavyweight wrestler alive today. Kash puts up a valiant effort here, but Liger gets the win after wowing the fans with a picture-perfect Shooting Star Press.
We go to backstage comments from HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN and BIG VAN VADER. Whippleman gloats about what Vader did to American Ace last week. He says that Vader is a monster, and it won’t be long until the NWA World title is his!
VADER says that he is the man, and he feels no pain, but his opponents will feel pain, a pain worse than anything they could ever imagine!

MATCH #2
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
THE HEAVENLY BODIES (Champions) VS. THE NEW ZEALAND SHEEPHERDERS. The Sheepherders come to the ring, swinging their arms in unison, and take a few minutes to lick the heads of some of the ringside fans before entering the ring. Despite their goofy demeanours, Luke and Butch are all business once the match starts. They both attack Del Ray to start the match, and keep him in their corner early on. Del Ray rakes the eyes of Butch, allowing him to make the tag to Prichard, and the Bodies then double-team Butch. After a few minutes of punishment, Butch is able to fight back, and makes the hot tag to Luke, who comes in and cleans house, sending the Bodies out of the ring.
As the match progresses, the Bodies eventually gain the upper hand again, and get the win after hitting Luke with the double Flapjack, and Del Ray follows that up with a Moonsault for the 1, 2, 3.
After the match, Tom Prichard grabs the house mic from Gary Michael Cappetta, and say that they wanted competition, and the NWA gives them the Sheepherders?!?!
Del Ray says that they’re insulted that the NWA even thought the Sheepherders stood a chance of beating them.
At that point Ini Kamoze’s “Here Comes the Hotstepper” begins to play . . . and look who’s back!!!
After not being seen on television for the last three or four weeks, “FLYBOY” ROCCO ROCK and JOHNNY GRUNGE are back in the NWA!
Public Enemy storms the ring, and attack Prichard and Del Ray! After knocking the Champions to the mat, Rocco takes the mic, and says that if the Heavenly Bodies want competition, the Mack Daddies of violence are happy to oblige! Rock and Grunge then continue to pummel the Champions.
Grunge leaves the ring and clears off the timekeeper’s table. Rock then tosses Del Ray through the ropes, and Grunge lays him out across the table. Grunge holds Del Ray in place as Rocco Rock somersaults off the top rope . . . and puts Del Ray through the table!!!
Johnny Grunge climbs back into the ring, and picks up the house mic. He says that they’ve taken a few weeks off to get their priorities straight, but now they’re back and ready to kick some ass!
STAN LANE is backstage with “THE BELFAST BRUISER” FIT FINLAY. Finlay talks about Norman Smiley’s comments last week, and says that Smiley talks awfully big for a man that had to use brass knux to beat him two weeks ago! He says that if Smiley wants to try and teach him a lesson, that’s just fine with him, and he challenges Smiley to face him again on next week’s show!
We go to a pre-recorded NWA CONTROL CENTER segment with STAN LANE.
LANE says that the countdown to BATTLEBOWL has begun! We’re 4 weeks away from the NWA’s return to Pay-Per-View, with BattleBowl airing live on Saturday night, December 28.
LANE says that there will be five Lethal Lottery tag team matches, and the winning teams will take part in the 10-man, every man for himself BattleBowl Battle Royal!
Plus, we know that the finals of the X Division title tournament will take place at BattleBowl, and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship will be defended. Lane says that he received word earlier in the show that the challenger for the NWA World title will be named on next week’s show!
BattleBowl is shaping up to be the biggest event in the history of the National Wrestling Alliance!
VS.
MATCH #3:
THE CANADIAN GLAMOUR BOYS (w/ Coach D’Amore) VS. COWBOY LANCE CASSIDY & FREDDIE JOE FLOYD. The two teams are evenly-matched for the most part. Late in the match, Cassidy and Floyd get the upper hand, and look to be on their way to victory, but that changes when Cassidy goes to the top rope, and Coach D’Amore gets up on the apron and whacks Cassidy across the back with his hockey stick. Cassidy falls off the turnbuckle, and as he slowly gets to his feet, Sewell connects with a superkick, then Morely goes to the top rope and hits a splash for the 1, 2, 3.
After the match, Coach D’Amore hits Freddie Joe Floyd over the head with the hockey stick, then the Canadian Glamour Boys drape a big Canadian flag over both Cassidy and Floyd!
Coach D’Amore says he’s got a big announcement to make . . . Team Canada is expanding! He then brings out the newest member, “the Canadian Tiger” Mike Lozansky!
Lozansky takes the mic and says that it’s an honour to be a part of Team Canada, a group of upstanding citizens from the greatest country on earth! He says that he’ll be watching the X Division title tournament very closely, and issues a challenge to whoever wins the title, to put the belt on the line against him.
CRUISE and MARSHALL talk about last week’s main event, a #1 contenders match between two former NWA World Champions, Shane Douglas and Terry Funk.
VTR – Funk vs Douglas; Last Week on NWA Total Non-Stop Action:
. . . Funk and Douglas take the fight to the floor again, and this time they end up brawling all around the commentary desk. Funk gets the upper hand, and drops Douglas with a haymaker, then turns around and nails Jarrett, who was on his feet, with a haymaker as well, knocking Jarrett backwards over his chair!
When the match moves back to the ring, Jarrett tells Cruise and Marshall that Funk just messed with the wrong person, and he grabs his guitar and heads to the ring!
The referee is knocked down when Funk gets Douglas up in an airplane spin, but Douglas’ feet hit the referee as Funk spins him around.
Jarrett gets up on the apron, and yells to Douglas, holding his guitar up. Douglas goes to whip Funk into the ropes where Jarrett is standing . . . but Funk reverses it at the last second, and Douglas collides with Jarrett, hitting his head on Jarrett’s guitar and knocking the World Champ off the apron!
As the referee slowly shakes off the cobwebs, Funk rolls Douglas up for the 1, 2, 3!
Terry Funk will face Jeff Jarrett in the main event for the World’s Heavyweight title!
CRUISE says that it’s time for the main event, and sends us to the ring and Gary Michael Cappetta.

MATCH #4
NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP:
JEFF JARRETT (Champion) (w/ Capt. Lou Albano) VS. TERRY FUNK. Funk and Jarrett waste no time in tearing into each other as soon as the bell rings! Funk controls the early going, and gets a handful of nearfalls, but can’t put Jarrett down for the count. Jarrett makes a comeback, and controls the match for several minutes.
In the end, SHANE DOUGLAS hits the ring, but goes after Jarrett! Douglas blames Jarrett for him losing the match to Funk last week, as it was Jarrett’s interference that led to Douglas being pinned. Douglas attacks Jarrett, and drops him with the Belly to Belly Suplex. Douglas then goes after Funk! Referee Dave Hebner calls for the bell, and throws the match out, calling it a No Contest.
The show comes to an end as Douglas, Jarrett and Funk brawl in, and outside, the ring!
CRUISE and MARSHALL wrap things up, and hype next week’s show.
