Jim: “Welcome to a special edition of Mid-South Wrestling, King of Sports, I'm Jim Ross and joining me is Joel Watts, Boyd Pierce and Bill Watts will be back next week with more Mid South TV, and we come to you from Tulsa Oklahoma, just two weeks from the big Super Dome Extravaganza Thanksgiving Night in New Orleans! And Joel, I know you have some exciting information for the fans!
Joel: “I do Jim and that news is that the slap heard around the world will be settled once and for all Thanksgiving night as Magnum TA defends the North American Heavyweight title against the leader of the Freebirds, MICHAEL HAYES!
Jim: “THAT is huge news Joel, and if Michael Hayes was looking for a fight, he sure got on Thanksgiving Night! Lets quickly review that super card in New Orleans Thanksgiving night:

Hayes leaves some last minute instructions for Roberts, the bell rings, and the fans are treated to a competitive match! Hayes does not interfere, except for throwing Davis back into the ring at 5:14, and finally the wily veteran bests the game youngster at 8:18 of a good TV match!
Jim: “Folks, Buddy Roberts, like him or not, is the true master technician of the Freebirds, but keep an eye on this Mike Davis, he didn't win the title here today on a national stage, but did not embarrass himself either against a top wrestler in this sport. Jim Ross: “If I may beg your pardon, Mr. Mantell, but this interview time was set aside for Andre the Giant.
Ken: “That's just perfect Jim Ross, because the reason I am here is to not only address Andre the Giant, but may I also assure the man that he will not mind this interruption after he hears what it I have to say.
“Now, first of all Andre the Giant, you have nothing to fear from any of these men that surround you in the ring right now. They have explicit orders from myself to not lay a hand on you, and I have paid them generously to not do so. As a matter of fact, you might be the safest professional athlete on the planet at this point in time.

The world of sports is changing, and I told him the same thing I will tell you tonight in Tulsa: forget these people. Forget Bill Watts. Joel: “Tulsa . . .. let me guess, El Topo miscounted his TV shows before the Thanksgiving card, and that is why we had to blow $30,000 taping this card for TV?

BOB BACKLUND V BUDDY LANDELL
Buddy comes to the ring carrying some sort of a book, and then lays it on the ring announcers table, and enters the ring and shakes the hand of the ref and Backlund, the bell rings and we are underway and it seems like we have a good clean match between the young Landell and the former WWF champion. The camera pans to the book and it says “National Wresting Association Official Rules of Wresting “ on the cover. The match is clean with a lot of back and forth action but at the 7 minute mark Backlund has Landell on the back foot and Landell opens up the ring ropes as Backlund charges at him, and BACKLUND IS OUT COLD! Landell goes over to ringside table, opens his rule book, closes it, raises all ten fingers in the air, then throws Backlund back in the ring right befiore the ten count, then pulls his tights and puts his foot on the ropes as he covers Backlund and the ref refuses to count!
Roberts demands the time keeper give him his rulebook, and Roberts picks out a page and argues with the ref, pointing out some sort of rule in the book, but this all allows Backlund to recover, who schoolboys Landell, the ref throws the book to the side and counts as Backlund covers Landell:

LANDELL KICKS OUT, AND BACKLUND IS STILL GROGGY and cant capitalize, Landell rolls out and points to the ref the rule book is still in the ring, as the ref goes to pick it up and throw it to the ringside, LANDELL REACHES INTO HIS TIGHTS, AND PULLS OUT A FOREIGN OBJECT, AND NAILS BACKLUND WITH IT, PUTS IT IN HIS TIGHTS AND COVERS THE FORMER WWF CHAMPION!
