11/20/96 - Boardwalk Hall Atlantic City, NJ
"Mean" Gene Okerlund and "The Genius" Lanny Poffo welcome us to another exciting edition of Eastern Championship Wrestling, tonight coming to us live from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey! They briefly recap last week's show including ECW Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson costin # 1 Contender Chris Jericho his match with Rhino when he attacked him bringing on a DQ, The Mexi- Kings attack on William Regal who was in turn saved by his opponent Scott Taylor and Tully Blanchard; and the vicious Main Event which saw "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango defeated "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone in an Inferno Match! Brimstone was brought to an area hospital after being hit with the fireball, but his condition remains unknown a this time. Also last week the team of "Ravishing" Rick Rude and "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam; World's Finest; defeated the Baron's Ubermensch to become the # 1 Contender's for the Tag-Team Titles, facing ECW Tag Champs Dustin Rhodes and Tommy Dreamer at Wrestle Annual III! And we'll see them in action next!
Just then however "Thunderkiss '65" by White Zombie hits! And out from the back comes "The Long Island Loud-Mouth Chris Jericho! He starts talking about how ol' Arn Anderson is many things. A so-so wrestler? Sure. Two time ECW Champ? Yeah it's in the records. All you can eat buffet Heavyweight Champion? Just ask Golden Corral. But there's one thing "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson isn't! And that's better in that ring than "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho! And that's why Arn is coming after him early. Not because he can't take a joke. Not because Jericho is under his skin. But because he knows deep down, when push comes to sho-ove; he's gonna need an edge! He'd like nothing better than to hurt "The Loud-Mouth" before their match because he knows with both of them at 100% going into Wrestle Annual III there can only be one outcome! Only one! And that's Chris Jericho walking out of MSG the ECW Champion! But if Anderson wants him? Come on out! Cause he's isn't afraid! Arn get your fat ass out here!
It seems "The Enforcer" isn't taking the bait however and Jericho shrugs before turning toward the back and walks right into a big Spinebuster!
Arn Anderson is here! And he's just laid out the # 1 contender! He's standing over Chris yelling at him when Jericho grabs Arn by the air and punches him repeatedly in the face! Double A fires back and the two men are soon brawling out on the ramp! "The Loud-Mouth" goes for the eyes stunning the Champ and hopping up onto the guardrail drops AA with a dropkick before he's had a chance to recover! Anderson is trying to get up as Chris drags the ECW Champ up onto the barricade and sets his arm up on the steel guardrail! He grabs a steel chair away from on of the fans and slaps it onto Arn's arm before climbing up onto the guardrail and hits a legdrop onto the steel chair crushing Anderson's arm between that and the barricade! Okerlund is livid calling Chris a monster!
Jericho however seems pleased with himself and may've kept going had Ron Garvin not appeared with his security team to pull Jericho away! Garvin is giving Chris a verbal beating while medics see to the ECW Champion.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
World's Finest; Rob Van Dam and Rick Rude are talking to Terri Runnels about how they're the perfect team to be facing the Tag-Team Champs Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes at Wrestle Annual. Not taking anything away from those two guys. They're great for plebians; but "Mr. Wednesday Night" and "The Ravishing One" are the top of the wrestling food chain. Two men who alone could take down most of the top teams in this industry. And together? They're unstoppable.
Just then however the Champs Dreamer and Rhodes arrive on the scene. They don't care who RVD and Rude are or what they've accomplished. They're cool with facing them at Wrestle Annual. They want a fight? Bring it.
Tag-Team Match: The World's Finest vs. The Bayou Boys
Referee: Danny Davis
The Bayou Boys get their pound of flesh here, even hitting the Dosey Doe swinging body avalanche on Rob Van Dam. But in the end "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert gets hit by the Rude Awakening delayed hangman's neckbreaker followed by the 5-Star Frog Splash for the pinfall. Cousin Jamie helps Doug from the ring while the # 1 Contenders celebrate.

"Mr. Wrestling" gets a two off the Sliding C lariat and later the Old School Superkick! But both fail to put big Devon away and Corino is in some serious trouble after taking a beatdown when Devon goes up for the flying headbutt! But Steve pops up and running up the turnuckle hits a headbutt that looks kind've low before setting him up for the Superplex! But he hooks his feet over the ropes again and instead throws Devon with a release suplex! Steve hangs upside down a second before rolling down to the mat, making the cover and picking up the win.
After the match an angry Dean Malenko barges into Eric Bischoff's office with Prazak about the Ubermensch! He wants him at Wrestle Annual! Aryan von Raschke?! Hell no! He wants the Blitzkrieg! Is Malenko nuts?! Probably. We don't hear "Easy E's" response.

Match: The Dark Circle vs. The Circus of Doom
Referee: Danny Davis
Papa Shango and Barry Windham make sure to cut off the ring; keeping "The Ring Master" Matt Borne out of the ring. They succeed and put a big beatdown on him. They hit him with the Voodoo inverted shoulder breaker, several lariats; and several other power moves to put Borne away; but Matt (foolishly) according to Lanny just won't stay down. In the end it takes a double Spike Piledriver to put him down for the three count. Just then however there's a disturbance on the outside however!
Because Rhino has begun beating Pogo the Clown down with a steel chair! Windham slides out and joins him while inside the ring Papa Shango takes a seat on the limp Matt Borne. With Pogo down, Windham and Rhino then set their sights on Luna! The duo chase "Mad Dog" about the ring and she slides in where Papa Shango gets to his feet and hits her with a face full of voodoo smoke!
Borne attempts to get up, but Papa sits down on him hard while Luna screams in pain clutching at her eyes! Barry and Rhino now stand over her and Papa Shango fish hooks Borne as he holds his head up to make him watch as the two men begin stomping Vachon out! Rhino then picks her up and Windham decapitates her with a lariat while Borne sobs for them to stop. They don't. Windham picks the obviously unconscious mad dog up; hangs her up on the ropes and charging across the ring "The Man-Beast" Gores her right out of the ring! Papa Shango is cackling maniacally as EMTs and security rush out to help her while the Dark Circle take the opportunity to leave the ring.

This match doesn't even get underway when out from the back come William Regal with mic in hand!
As he heads down to the ring he says that this match is cancelled. Because he wants to face Eddie Guerrero right here tonight! Guerrero is more than ready for it and as Regal gets to the ring he charges across the ring and leaps out with a tope dive sending both men crashing to the floor! Michele Starr meanwhile grabs Joe E. Legend and heads to the back. Eddie and William begin brawling on the floor, but Hernandez soon joins the fray and things aren't looking good for Regal when...
Ronnie Garvin shows up on the ramp with his security team! He has Tully Blanchard, Scott Taylor and ECW President Eric Bischoff with him and together they break the fight up! Bischoff then gets on the mic and he forbids Eddie and William from stepping in the ring against one another because that match is already set and will be happening at Wrestle Annual III! But instead he'll be giving Regal a shot at Hernandez right here next week!

"Macho Man" Randy Savage wants "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit! And he gets him! The two men don't do much wrestling and brawl about the ring! Benoit breaks this formula with a quick go behind to Savage and dumps him on his head with a suplex! He comes in with some vicious boots and Randy is backtracking it across the ring! He gets an uppercut in on Chris in the corner however and seating himself on the top turnbuckle catches Benoit with a Tornado DDT for a two count! Chris looks to get back up, by Savage catches him in a side headlock and works on Benoit's neck! This only gets him so far as "The Crippler" battles out with several back elbows, takes Randy down to the mat with a snapmare and delivers a standing dropkick to the back of his head for a two count of his own. He pulls Randy up to his knees and begins hammering away with punches and Savage is in trouble! But after a while he begins rallying back! Boom! Benoit drops him with a DDT and another cover! 1!... 2!...
Savage gets the shoulder up! Benoit is pissed. He drags Randy to his feet and hoists him up hits a back breaker over his knee. He pulls him up again, this time for a powerbomb; but Randy rolls through it and lands behind chris! He pushes him forward into the ropes and Savage charges him, leaps over the top rope and drops him with a hairpull hangman! Benoit is down and dazed as "Macho Man" climbs up to the apron, leaps up to the top rope agile as a cat; and as Benoit stumbles to his feet drops him with a lariat! But Chris counters with one of his own! And both men hit the mat hard! Ron Simmons wants the tag! He is cheering Randy on as the ref administers the count! Both men are moving now and headed to their corners!
But Randy gets the tag first! Ron Simmons charges in! But Chris makes the tag too and turning about catches Ron in the gut! And then rakes his eyes! Simmons falls back to one knee as Alex Porteau goes up top and connects with a missile dropkick! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
Ron powers out! Porteau keeps on top of him. But after a bit Ron begins no-selling his offense! And "All-American" explodes all over Poreteau! Front scoop powerslam! A whip into a shoulderblock! Another whip and he hits the big Spinebuster! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
Benoit breaks it up and begins pounding on Simmons! But Ron catches his punch and begins firing back! Jones wants Chris out of the ring, but Porteau makes it to his corner and rolling out Benoit tags himself in! Ron grabs him by the head over the top rope and hurls him back inside! And he catches Benoit with a football tackle as he bounces up to his feet for a two count! Simmons grabs Benoit to pull him up, but Chris counters by pulling him down to the mat and locks in the Crippler Crossface! Simmons has got to tap! But he's fighting it! Randy Savage is cheering him on and looking for the tag! And Ron makes it grabbing the bottom rope to break the hold! Chris is pissed and doesn't let go, but Jones gets him off and as Simmons staggers to his feet Benoit charges him! But Ron back body drops him over the top rope to the outside! Chris lands on the apron! He and Ron begin trading punches, but Simmons grabs him and throws him out to the floor sending "The Crippler" right into the steel barricade! And he makes the tag to Randy Savage!

He begins beating on the Eastern States Champ whose face he smashes and grinds into the steel guardrail before rolling him into the ring. Savage slides back in, but is met by stomps from Chris! Randy fights his way to his feet however and catches him with an inverted atomic drop! Benoit is down! And "Macho Man" signals he's going up top! And he leaps through the air! Hits the Savage elbow drop! And gets the three count! Savage and Simmons have done it! They celebrate as the...
