-We go now to Channel 5 Studios here in Memphis to Lance Russell and Dave Brown-
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to “Championship Wrestling ‘84”. The announcers show footage of King Kong Bundy defeating The Mongolian Stomper, but he had to do it by taking a three count rather than a five count. Jerry “The King” Lawler makes his way out now and says we all something quite important in that footage. We see Bundy not being able to get the five count because his opponent had too much fire and heart to stay down. And that’s exactly why Bundy has never scored a five count over The King either! It will never happen because The King wouldn’t let it happen.
This brings out Southern Champion King Kong Bundy and Jimmy Hart. Bundy shouts that Lawler is a liar and that the VTR has been doctored! Lawler retorts that the people of Memphis saw it live last Monday and they know that Bundy did not score a five count on The Stomper! Bundy shouts that not only could he score a five count on Lawler, but he could do it in under 10 minutes! Lawler asks him to put his money where is mouth is if he isn’t a big squawking chicken! Jimmy Hart is trying to calm Bundy down, but the Southern Champion is irate! He offers to put up $500 of the First Family’s money for every minute that Lawler can last in the ring with him, up to ten minutes!
The King smirks and likes the sound of that, but asks if the belt is on the line too! Hart screams “no”, but Bundy answers that if that’s what it takes to get the little weasel in the ring than so be it! Jimmy Hart doesn’t like this one bit, but out comes Eddie Marlin to announce that the match will be signed for this Monday night at the Coliseum. Bundy shouts threats at Lawler as a stressed out Jimmy Hart leads him away. Lawler laughs and tells Lance that he knows exactly how to get what he wants and a big dummy like Bundy made it so easy!
MATCH: JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER vs. RANDY BARBER
The King scores the win on Barber via pinfall at 5:45 with a flying fist drop… Randy Barber gains a near fall early on with a running bulldog, but The King fights his way back. Lawler lands rights and lefts as he gets back to his feet and then pulls the strap down. The King connects with a brutal right hand and then goes up to the second rope for the fist drop to get the win.
“The Tennessee Stud” Robert Fuller is out after the match to discuss being attacked by Fit Finlay. Russell shows footage and then announces that this Monday night it will be Fuller, Tracy Smothers and Rufus R. “Freight Train” Jones going up against The Moondogs and Fit Finlay! Fuller says his opponents are all tough and even more dangerous because they’re back-jumpers, but he’s done a mighty many dirty deeds himself! It’s going to be a hot time in the old town on Monday night because himself, The Freight Train and the rookie sensation are going to be looking for a barroom brawl

Robert Gibson of the Rock n’ Roll Express is out with Lance Russell and Eddie Marlin as we come back from break. They speak in somber tones overt VTR footage of “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert throwing fire at Ricky Morton last Monday. We go back to the studio as Robert tells Lance that thankfully Ricky Morton avoided the brunt of the flame, but his vision is temporarily obscure by the scarring. Ricky will be back, but he needs some recovery time! Eddie Marlin announces that he is fining Eddie Gilbert $1000 for what he pulled at the Coliseum last week.
This brings out “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and Tommy Gilbert, who are none too pleased! Eddie Marlin tells Eddie Gilbert that he’s lucky to even still have a job after what he pulled. Marlin then announces that this Monday it will be The Gilberts defending their belts against Robert Gibson and a partner to be announced. The Gilberts conspire for a minute and then Tommy points out that he and his son could just take care of this problem right now because Robert Gibson is out here with nobody watching his back! Lance Russell tells The Gilberts to cool it, but now they are surrounding Robert Gibson. The Gilberts are about to pounce when out of the dressing room charges:
It is Robert Gibson’s older brother Ricky Gibson! Ricky and Robert now square off with The Gilberts, who decide that discretion is the better part of valor and take off to the dressing room. A fired up Ricky Gibson says he will not let his little brother get double-team or cheated by the likes of Tommy Gilbert and his spoiled rotten son! Ricky announces that he will team with Robert this Monday and they will bring home the gold as a tribute to Ricky Morton! The Gibsons then head up to the ring.
MATCH: THE GIBSONS vs. JIMMY BACKLUND & KURT VON HESS
Robert Gibson scores the win via pinfall at 6:45 with a dropkick on Jimmy Backlund… The Gibsons keep the crowd going throughout this match as they use their experience to keep the edge on this first-time team. Von Hess uses his power to gain some momentum, but makes the mistake of tagging in Backlund. Robert Gibson connects with a big dropkick off the ropes and covers for the academic pin.
Lance Russell and Dave Brown then show a VTR of a man who will be debuting in the CWA in December. This is massive One Man Gang from the dangerous Halstead Street in Chicago!

“Superstar” Bill Dundee is out as we come back from break with “Wildfire” Tommy Rich. Lance announces two big matches coming up this Monday as Dundee faces CWA Heavyweight Champion Dutch Mantell in a strap match, and then Tommy Rich faces off with The Dirty White Boy in a grudge. Dundee tells Lance that The Dirty Dutchman has been a thorn in the side of himself and Tommy Rich for too long. This Monday, he’s going to give Mantell about 50 lashes with the strap and then he will take the gold. Rich then says the White Boy will find out what happens when you fire up ol’ Wildfire. Dundee then promises to give Rich a shot at the title once he wins the gold!
RICK RUDE & ADRIAN ADONIS vs. JOHN KING & JOSH STROUD
Rick Rude scores the victory on John King via pinfall at 6:00 with the neckbreaker… Rude and Adonis work well together as usually as they keep King on their side of the ring, while USFL standout Josh Stroud can’t even tag into the match. Adonis softens up King’s neck with several knee drops and then Rude comes in to finish the job.
Sir Oliver Humperdink is out with The Belfast Bruiser and his Moondogs. Humperdink promises that the “Tennessee Dud” Robert Fuller will regret the day that he got involved in the Fit Finlay’s business. Fuller could have had a long, storied career with many championship wins. Instead, he will go down in history as the first in a long line of victims of the most dangerous man in pro wrestling today – The Belfast Bruiser Fit Finlay. And as for Tracy Smothers and Rufus R. Jones, the Moondogs will tear them apart this Monday night!

A concerned Jimmy Hart is out at the desk and tells Dave Brown that Eddie Marlin is trying to put the screws to the First Family. First, he takes advantage of situation and signs that ridiculous match between Lawler and Bundy before Jimmy even got to confer with his client! And then he goes and signs a six-man tag team match between the First Family and Jake Roberts, Jos Leduc and The Mongolian Stomper on a night where Bundy and The Gilberts are booked in other matches! Lance asks why Playboy Frazier can’t step in, but Hart replies that the big man is on vacation in the Virgin Islands where he is planning to make a few changes in the locals! Dave Brown tells Jimmy to cut that stuff out as Eddie Marlin makes his way out.
Eddie Marlin asks if he heard Jimmy Hart correctly that Playboy Frazier, King Kong Bundy and The Gilberts all have other commitments. Hart retorts that Marlin knows that is the case so don’t play dumb! Marlin rubs his chin for a second and says he’s come up with a solution. The contract reads “First Family Member” as the third partner and whose a more important “member” than Jimmy Hart himself! Hart flips out as Marlin says he will make the change so that now the team will be comprised of Adonis, Rude and Hart! Rick Rude and Adrian Adonis come out to protest as Eddie Marlin walks off smiling, while Jimmy Hart freaks the heck out!
TV MAIN EVENT: THE MONGOLIAN STOMPER vs. RUFUS R. JONES
The Stompers gets the win via pinfall at 10:34 with a running boot to the forehead… This is a good old fashioned brawl to close out the show this week, with Jones scoring a near fall with a powerslam. The Stomper fights his way back and drills Rufus with a running boot to score the academic pin.
The Mongolian Stomper comes over to the desk and tells Lance Russell that he can’t wait to get his hands around the neck of the pipsqueak Jimmy Hart. He’s wanted to run that runt right of the South for many years now and he has the chance this Monday! Lance then asks if The Mongolian Stomper can fully trust Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Jos LeDuc. The Stomper answers that he trusts very few people and his two partners aren’t among them. But they seem to have common goals this Monday night. However, if either of them get out of line, he’ll just as soon fight them as he will fight the First Family!
