11/9/96 - Brendan Byrne Arena East Rutherford, NJ
"Rock 'N Roll" Buck Zumhoff and his co-host with Captain Lou Albano welcome us to the exciting episode of ECW Slammin's Saturdays live from the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey! They then talk about the action-packed show they have lined up for us here tonight! He tells us that tonight "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady will be in action and they'll get some interview time with "The Diabolical One" himself Mr. Fuji and his charge "The Japaense Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri! We might need a translator here for this one!
Joel Gertner makes the intros and S.D. Jones officiates all matches.
Match: Erin O'Grady vs. Reckless Youth
After "The Leprechaun" throws gold coins to the kids, Erin O'Grady and Reckless Youth give us a fast paced back and forth battle with several nearfalls before O'Grady plants Youth with the Lucky Charm double underhook implant DDT for the win!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
We're told by Mr. Fuji and the New Orient Express that the letter G stands for championship Gold as Tajiri and Michinoku pat the Tag-Team Titles that're draped over their shoulders... And "Godzilla!" Fuji points up to the sky and we see a clip of Godzilla smashing Tokyo. When the camera turns back to the Express; they are fleeing.
Match: Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Douglas Williams
\
"The U.K. Kidd" and "The Japanese Buzzsaw" have a hard hitting Main Event quality match here where they tear one another apart. Douglas Williams hits both the Bombs Away diving knee drop and Chaos Theory waist lock backward roll transitioned into a bridged Germa Suplex for a set of two counts! Tajiri breaks out his arsenal with a handspring back elbow, a springboard hurrancanrana off the top rope and a Brainbuster! Williams keeps kicking out however, so Yoshihiro uses the illegal Tarantula hold on Douglas to soften him up for the Octopus Stretch which earns "The Buzzsaw" the victory by Submission. He gets his hand raised by Mr. Fuji.
After the match we're brought the the Slammin' Saturdays set where Buck Zumhoff is flying solo. He says that he has two great guests here for us today, the most "Diabolical" manager in this sport, Mr. Fuji and his charge "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri!
Buck congratulates Fuji on leading his former team The New Orient Express to not one, but two Tag-Team Title reigns! Maybe Zumhoff should get Fuji to manage his career. Fuji laughs and thanks him, but tells him that he no longer manages Gaijins. However, with Michinoku back in ECW he wouldn't mind mending fences and putting the most dominant Tag-Team in wrestling back together! That would please him very well. He then talks about winning Championship Gold in the near future for the further gloriment of Japan being his number one priority. And with his charge "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri they have one specific belt in mind. Buck asks what that is and Tajiri says something that sounds rather unpleasant in Japanese before spitting Asian Mist into the air startling Buck. He then tells them we're out of time and thanks them both for being here today.
The camera then cuts to a "Rocking 'N Rolling" segment where The Honky Tonk Man tells us to keep the theme going he's going to invite the kids at home to party with The Vapors and "Turning Japanese!"
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Welcoming us back from the last commercial break of the evening Buck Zumhoff and Captain Lou Albano bring us back in time for the Wrestling Rewind Main Event all the way back from February 1st of 1995 when "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson squared off with "The Man-Beast" Rhino!
Main Event: Arn Anderson vs. Rhino
At the start of the match Arn Anderson looks to shake hands with his opponent; but Rhino smiles smugly and slaps it away. Anderson looks to S.D. Jones who sounds the bell. Rhino is young and hungry and goes for the cheap shot; but Anderson sees it coming and catching Rhino's hand fires back with several punches of his own. He lays into Rhino driving him back towards the ropes before whipping "The Man-Beast" across the ring. On the rebound however Rhino surprises "The Enforcer" with a shoulder tackle knocking the Champ down to the floor where he begins hammering on AA with rights and lefts and clubbing elbows. He begins choking Arn out with his huge forearm. Jones breaks it up giving Anderson some breathing room but Rhino is right back on top of him with a stomp to the face. He begins driving his boot into Arn's skull; but Anderson manages to catch him by the boot and toss him back down to the mat. Clambering up to his feet Arn nails Rhino with a quick knee drop to the chest. Getting back up quickly her follows it up with a fist drop before stumbling to the other side of the ring to catch a breather. Rhino meanwhile is back up but a little shaky. Running over to him Anderson kicks him in the face sending his ass back down to the canvas. AA captures "The Man-Beast" in a headlock. Rhino screams in pain and looks like he may be out of it for a minute; but he fights his way back to his feet. Arn clings to him only to be tossed over landing on his own ass before he is scooped up for a huge suplex by Rhino who makes the cover. 1!.. 2!
Arn kicks out. Keeping on top of his opponent Rhino lifts the ECW Champion up to his feet wailing on his head and back but Anderson pushes him off him and comes back firing on all cylinders! He hammers Rhino into the corner before climbing up to the second turnbuckles where he begins reigning down the punches; delivering all 10 before executing a Frankensteiner! As Rhino crashes hard into the canvas "The Enorcer" goes up top shocking the crowd. Perched in the corner he waits for Rhino to stagger up to his feet before coming down with a forearm smash! Rhino counters however and hiptosses the Champ across the ring! Arn bounces down and up to his feet in the corner as Rhino comes charging in with the striking spear! He delivers several body strikes to the Champ before Arn gets his leg up catching Rhino in the face. As Rhino reels back Arn grabs hold of him and throws him into the corner where he begins hammering on him again! Rhino is out of it and Arn steps aside letting his opponent step into the ring before he hits him with an inverted Atomic Drop! Rhino hits the ground face first and Anderson drops down, rolls the big man over and hooks the leg. 1!...2!...
Rhino kicks out! Back up on his feet Anderson is sweating as he delives several knee drops to Rhino before going for the figur-four! Rhino howls in pain as the move is locked in; but he refuses to submit! Uses his massive legs he manages to flip over and reveres it catching Arn off-guard! It's now Anderson's turn to scream before he manages to kick Rhino over and get the figure four locked back in! Rhino's gotta tap! But he doesn't. Instead he manages to drag both him and Arn to the safety of the ropes where Jones has a reluctant Anderson break the hold. While Rhino uses the ropes to pull himself to his feet; his legs look like Jell-O. AA immediately begins hammering on his opponent whom he runs head first into the turnbuckle! As Rhino staggers back Arn Anderson charges him and takes him down with a lariat! Once again down on the floor Anderson climbs on top of Rhino making the cover. 1! Rhino kicks out! Anderson looks a bit stunned but picks the big man up to his feet only to be hit with an uppercut! "The Man-Beast" looks like it's painful to walk; but he hits the Champ with several hard rights and lefts driving him across the ring before Irish whipping Anderson! On the rebound Rhino looks to scoop Arn up; but Anderson blocks the suplex wrapping his arm and leg around Rhino's. A stunned Rhino attempts to lift him again; but instead Arn Anderson pulls Rhino down to the mat surprising him again and rolls him up! 1!...2!...3! Anderson has won it!

Match: Dean Malenko vs. B. Brian Blair w/ Brady Boone
An annoying buzzing is head as the New Killer Bees make their way down to the ring. Once inside B. Brian blair gives "The Lone Wolf" Dean Malenko a fight; but the Light Heavyweight Champ never really loses control of the match and makes Blair tap using the Texas Cloverleaf. He's headed out of the ring with his manager David Prazak when...
From the back come the Bayou Boys?! "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert says that along with his Cousin Jamie they were Double Lightweight Champs. And they want a crack at Malenko to regain the Title at Wrestle Annual III! Yeeha! Malenko seems game, but then...
Mr. Fuji emerges from the back with "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri! Fuji says that unlike most Americans Malenko has been honorable Champion! And he should not sully himself with Bayou Boy filth! He should fight true # 1 Contender Yoshihiro Tajiri!
Hip Hop music then plays and out from the back comes "Too Cool" Brian Christopher and Jacquelinre Moore! Yo! Yo! Yo! Wait up Malenko! Dean beat Brian for the belt! He wants another chance to get it back!
And behind him appear Erin O'Grady, Taka Michinoku; and the Hughes Brothers! Dean certainly has no shortage of opponents! They want to know who it's going to be when...
"Ich tu der weh" by Rammstein blasts throughout the arena and The Baron Von Raschke appears on the ramp with Aryan von Raschke and "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg! And the big man is cleaning house! He attacks the Hughes Brothers from behind before dropping Taka with a clothesline! He catches O'Grady by the throat! Telegraph from Berlin Chokeslam! The Bayou Boys aren't as stupid as they look and disappear into the crowd. The Blitzkrieg meanwhile hoists a stunned Brian Christopher over his head and tosses him into the crowd! Tajiri and Fuji retreat around the ring and The Blitzkrieg climbs into the ring! Malenko beckons the Monster! He wants to fight!
Malenko begins pounding on the big man immediately, but The Blitzkrieg powers out and throws him damn near across the ring and charges in with some big fists! He pounds Dean back into the ropes, whips him across the ring and connects with a big boot that knocks Dean's lights out! The Baron and Aryan then climb into the ring and Von Raschke tells them that they're not asking! They aren't demanding! That the only person who will be grovelling at Wrestle Annual will be Dean Malenko! Begging that the Ubermensch reclaim what is rightfully theirs and leave something for the medics to fix as his son, his heir Aryan von Raschke once again becomes the ECW Light Heavyweight Champion!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Back from break ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is in front of the banner with "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and his charge; the Eastern States Champion Chris Benoit! Chris just gives off an icy stare while DiBiase talks about their little problem with "The All-American" Ron Simmons and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. He has faith in Benoit he he calls one of the most visceral, unstoppable men in this sport. DiBiase isn't worried. And Chris Benoit isn't worried about losing the Title. Now who should be worried? Why Randy Savage and Ron Simmons of course. Two men who want the same thing. The Eastern States Title brother. And it's like Ted's always told us. EVERY man has his price.
Match: Chris Benoit vs. Joe E. Legend
Chris Benoit ignores Michele Starr's attempts to goad him at ringside and while Joe E. Legend gets some offense in; he makes short work of him with the Crippler Crossface.
A video clip featuring snippets from matches that took place this past Wednesday's show. We see "The Japanese Buzzsaw" Yoshihiro Tajiri decapitate Brian Christopher with the Shining Wizard, Eddie Guerrero flatten Devon Hughes with the Frog Splash, "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone Chokeslamming Papa Shango straight to Hell, "The Lone Wolf" Dean Malenko plant Buck Zumhoff with a Powerbomb off the second rope, "The American Nightmare" Dustin Rhodes pin Jesse Barr with the Blackout kneeling facebuster, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson flatten Doug Gilbert's skull with a DDT; and finally "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho drops Anderson with a Superkick! The ECW Wednesday Nights logo then appears.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
ECW Women's Champion "Gorgeous" Michele Starr if flying solo as he talks about the Women's division here in Eastern Championship being a joke! He has no real competition! And therefore plans to dress his very best for a ringside seat at Wrestle Annual III!
Match: Michele Starr vs. Tiffany
Former Women's Champ Tiffany proves Michele Starr wrong as she takes the fight to him, getting nearfalls after a Tornado DDT and an Iconoclasm! "The Gorgeous One" just gets his foot up on the bottom rope beating the three count and grabs Danny Davis complaining about how Tiffany touched his protective Phantom of the Opera style face mask. Davis saw it, but is completely unsympathetic as he tries to untangle himself from Starr who steps aside just as Tiffany attacks him and she knocks Danny out of the ring! Tiffany can't believe what just happened and begins apologizing to a recovering Davis while Starr removes his mask while holding his hand over his "injury" and clubs Tiffany from behind with the mask! She goes down like she was shot and Starr makes the cover! A groggy Danny Davis slides into the ring and makes the count and Starr has stolen one here tonight.
After the match we're taken back stage for Buck Zumhoff's "Rock 'N Rolling" segment where he invites us to party with the band that provides Tiffany's entrance music; Def Leppard with "Pour Some Sugar on Me!" He hopes it makes her feel better.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Zumhoff and HTM welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event! They dicuss the ongoing discord amongst the Dark Circle which started at ECW's big event September to Remember! ECW Champion Arn Anderson had just defeated the Circle's leader; "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango when former member; "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone attacked him! Since then the Dark Circle has been in utter chaos, a den of in-fighting; and that was no different this past Wednesday when in a match between Shango and Circus of Doom leader and former Circle associate Matt Borne; Brimstone once again attacked "The Soul Stealer" inadvertently giving him a win via DQ. Tonight both factions The Dark Circle and the Circus of Doom will meet in three man Tag-Team action! Weird circus music then plays while a spotlight scans the arena landing on the ramp.
Gertner: The following Tag-Team contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first at a combined weight of 853 lbs. accompanied to the ring by Luna Vachon; they are "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone and The Circus of Doom; Pogo the Clown and "The Ring Master" Matt Borne!
The Circus is in town as the foursome take over the ring before voodoo drums begin to sound, the lights go off and mist fills the arena!
Gertner: And now introducing at this time their opponents this evening at a combined weight of 760 lbs.; they are "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango, "Blackjack" Barry Windham; and "The Man-Beast" Rhyno; collectively known as The Dark Circle!
Main Event: The Dark Circle vs. The Circus of Doom
"The Dark Prophet" Brimstone enters first and wants to get his hands on Papa Shango! "The Soul Stealer" however is up to his usual games and refuses to enter. Barry Windham starts off instead and brushing Borne off, Brimstone locks horns with the big Texan! There isn't much wrestling and everyone gets some ringtime except Pogo until a brawl erupts which is too often for Danny Davis's tastes. He keeps restoring order, but this one proves to be uncontrollable and as the ring fills up with all six competitors again in addition to Luna who climbs in and begins hammering on Rhino with Matt; Davis calls for the bell declaring this one a No Contest! The combatants don't care about this one bit and the brawl continues on until the...
Lights Fade.

Fun conclusion to the Dark Circle/Circus of Doom match up. That feud is heading for a crazy conclusion, and sooner rather than later, I'm excited to see where it ends up. Malenko vs. Blair would have been a fun match as well. I really enjoyed seeing Mr. Fuji make such an impact on Slammin Saturdays. TAKA needs to do the right thing, and come back to the loving arms of the Diabolical One. While I didn't like seeing Blitzkreig single handedly laying the Light Heavyweight Division out, I do enjoy how evenly matched that division is. There are plenty of great choices for a feud with Malenko. Chavito and Erin O'Grady are two guys I really expect to make an impact on the division as we head into 97. Right now I'm hoping to see Fuji unleash Taka and Tajiri on a quest to take the title. Taka can play an awesome Mysterio for Malenko to show-off with.
