-We go now to Channel 5 Studios here in Memphis to Lance Russell and Dave Brown-
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to “Championship Wrestling ‘84”. They show footage from the six-man tag match last Monday, where shockingly “Crazy” Jos LeDuc did not in fact turn on Jerry “The King” Lawler. They welcome The King, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Jos LeDuc. Lawler tells Lance and Dave that they have to admit that they wrong because whatever arrangement that The Snake and LeDuc have, Jos did not turn on him! Lance and Dave are still uneasy as they eye LeDuc, who is staring back at them. LeDuc then stares at the announcers and asks that they never call “Crazy” again. Jos says Jerry Lawler is not his friend, but Jake Roberts is paying him a lot of money so he will stand by The King’s side. And this Monday, he will take a member of the First Family out because he is signed to face “Ravishing” Rick Rude.
Lance Russell then asks why exactly Jake Roberts is paying Jos LeDuc, since the Snake is a hired gun himself! Jake smiles and says he knew that Lance would ask that. The truth is that he did start out as a hired gun, but this has now become personal for him. Jake has personal reasons to be sticking around and that’s not really any of Lance Russell’s business. Lance then mentions that Jake has a Southern Title match this week – could that be the reason? Jake tells Lance that he isn’t one to turn down a big match, but he has made an agreement to let Lawler have the last laugh when it comes to Bundy and he will honor that agreement.
Jerry Lawler then takes over and says he’s free Monday night, and so he would like to throw out a challenge to the big Russian Korchenko. Lawler has seen him beat Norvell Austin, Rufus R. Jones and Tojo Yamamoto. The King wants to see what Korchenko can do against an athlete at the prime of his career. Lawler asks Eddie Marlin to get the match signed, and then he heads up to the ring with Jake Roberts and Jos LeDuc.
MATCH: JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER & JAKE “THE SNAKE” ROBERTS w/ Jos LeDuc vs. JOSH STROUD & LUTHER KINGSTON
Jake Roberts scored the win at 5:45 by pinfall with the DDT on Kingston… Stroud and Kingston show some fire and they even manage to get Roberts on the run, but Lawler tags in takes over. The camera pans in on Roberts crouched over in the corner whispering to LeDuc as Lawler comes off the top rope with a flying fist drop. The Snake then tags back in and finishes Luther Kingston with his dangerous DDT.
Southern Heavyweight Champion King Kong Bundy, Rick Rude and Adrian Adonis are out with Jimmy Hart to speak with Lance Russell and Dave Brown after the match. Hart says he always thought that Lawler was stupid and nobody believed him. Well, the proof is in the pudding because now Lawler is trusting Jake Roberts and Jos LeDuc! That said, Jimmy doesn’t like Jake or LeDuc, so he knows Rude and Bundy will take them out this week. Rick Rude says he has heard the stories of how strong Jos LeDuc. Well, Rude has youth on his side and that will be the edge on Monday night! Bundy then declares that he almost hates to squash Jake Roberts on Monday because it’ll mean that The Snake can’t pull one over on Lawler eventually. But, the match is signed and that means The Snake is roadkill! Jimmy Hart cackles at Bundy’s comment and leads his men away.

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich, Tracy Smothers and the now former CWA Heavyweight Champion “Superstar” Bill Dundee come out as we come back. Lance shows footage of Dutch Mantell winning the CWA Heavyweight Title, thanks to interference from the Dirty White Boy. Dundee says he never liked Dutch Mantell, but he always respected him. Mantell was the kind of guy that never need help to win his matches, regardless of which dressing room he was in. The Superstar says something has changed in Dutch Mantell, but that will just make it all the more satisfying when he gets him in the ring this Monday night.
Lance Russell nods and announces an eight-man tag team match for the Mid South Coliseum. It will be Dutch Mantell, the Dirty White and the Moondogs against Bill Dundee, Tommy Rich, Tracy Smothers and the living legend Rufus R. “Freight Train” Jones! Wildfire tells Lance that the cut on his forehead hasn’t healed yet from last Monday – and all four of his opponents this coming week are responsible for that injury. Rich asks if he heard “somebody say somethin’ about getting faaaarrrred up” because that is exactly what he is right now! Lance Russell promotes the big match again and then sends us to commercial.

Southern Tag Team Champions “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and his “dear father” Tommy Gilbert are out with Dave Brown. Dave shows clips of Eddie and Tommy walking away after a time limit draw with the Rock n’ Roll Express, when Ricky Morton challenged them to five more minutes. The fans are booing the Gilberts as we come back and Eddie wants to know just what he did wrong! Hotstuff tells Lance that he and his father fulfilled the contract for their scheduled match. They are not required to wrestle extra because their opponents couldn’t get the job in the allotted time! Dave then announces that this Monday we will see Eddie vs. Robert Gibson and Tommy vs. Ricky Morton in single matches. Tommy Gilbert tells Dave that he likes that announcement very much because he and his son can beat the Rock n’ Roll Express twice in the same night!
MATCH: SOUTHERN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE GILBERTS vs. TIM TALL TREE & “JYD” NORVELL AUSTIN
Eddie Gilbert defeated Tim Tall Tree via pinfall at 7:02 with the Hot Shot… The Gilberts toy with Norvell Austin early on, but he fires back with dropkicks that knock them both to the floor. Tim Tall Tree takes and proves to be a little dynamo as he zooms around the ring. However, a body press is blocked by Eddie, who readjusts and connects with the Hot Shot to score the victory.
Robert Fuller is out after the match and he talks with Dave Brown about this The Belfast Bruiser. Brown shows footage of a confrontation between the two men at the Mid South Coliseum last week. We go back to studio, where Fuller says nobody need to tell him how imposing this Fit Finlay is. He saw it for himself, but he didn’t like the look in the man’s eye when they squared off. Fuller says he will be keeping his eye on Finlay and Sir Oliver Humperdnk, and he won’t be afraid to intervene and straighten them out if they try to get out of control.

The Rock n’ Roll Express are out as we come back from commercial break. Ricky Morton tells Lance Russell that “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and Tommy Gilbert showed their true colors last week when they weren’t prepared to go five more minutes. Morton is then asked about the singles matches signed for this Monday night. Ricky answers that he’d prepare a tag title match, but he and Robert are happy to get The Gilberts in the ring in any way that they can get. Morton warns The Gilberts that they better be ready to rock and roll all night because that’s exactly what the Rock n’ Roll Express are ready to do come Monday night!
TV MAIN EVENT: CWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION DUTCH MANTELL & THE DIRTY WHITE BOY vs. THE NEW GENERATION
The Dirty White Boy defeated Steve Doll via pinfall at 10:05 with a brain-buster… Tom Zenk and Steve Doll are no push-overs and they score several near falls on the new CWA Heavyweight Champion early on. The Dirty White Boy tags in and bulldozes them both with clotheslines. The White Boy works over Doll’s neck and then finally connects with the brain-buster to score the academic pin.
CWA Heavyweight Champion Dutch Mantell and The Dirty White Boy make their way over to the desk. Mantell heard Bill Dundee out here crying and whining earlier about how Dutch has changed. The Dutchman says Dundee is exactly right – he has changed! He had no choice, with Tommy Rich first not showing up for matches and then constantly interfering in his matches. He had to change his style and turn to a man that he trusts – The Dirty White Boy. The White Boy then issues a warning to Tommy Rich and Tracy Smothers that if the Moondogs aren’t enough, they have to contend with two rasslers who aren’t afraid to break every rule in the book to get what they want!
