Airing LIVE on WTBS 10/28/96 an hour before Halloween Havoc
Referees: Nick Patrick and Randy Anderson
With your hosts: Mauro Ranallo and WCW Vice President Magnum T.A.
MATCH 1
Wily ring veterans, and longtime foes, Brad Armstrong and Buddy Landell hooked it up in the opening contest of the evening. This was a back and forth contest that saw Budro pull out most of the tricks he’s learned to keep Brad down in the early going, but the Armstrong fighting spirit lives on and Brad was able to finish off Budro with his patent Side Russian Leg Sweep.

MATCH 2
Beautiful Bobby Eaton without the services of Col. Rob Parker took on Erik Watts in an evenly matched contest. Mauro and Maggie theorized that the Colonel wasn’t in Bobby’s corner because he was in the back sweatin’ being handcuffed to Dusty live on PPV. That didn’t stop the quiet man from Huntsville from proving why he is one of the all-time greats in handling his younger, stronger, faster counterpart and finishing Watts off with the Alabama Jam.

MATCH 3
Another pair of veterans took part in the following contest as The Fantastics took on the young and impressive duo of Psychosis and La Parka. Fulton and Rogers were able to hang with the Luchadores in the early going, even scored a near fall on La Parka, but the Lucha style wore on the former champions, and the Bear Hug/Guillotine Leg Drop combo finisher of Psychosis and La Parka was more than Bobby Fulton could overcome.

SPECIAL ATTRACTION
WCW’s policy to bring the best and brightest from across the globe was never more evident than in this one as Michinoku Pro sensation El Samurai took on the ever popular Tiger Mask IV. The two masked men from Japan shook hands and kept everything within the rules, but that didn’t stop them from putting on a heckuva show. TM and Samurai engaged in some crazy offensive exchanges but Tiger Mask’s Tiger Driver ’96 was more than El Samurai could withstand.

MATCH 1
1 Fall 20 Minute Time Limit
Prince Iaukea of Dem Aloha Boys vs. Lenny Lane of The Highlight Express
In what turned out to be an ultra competitive opening contest each youngster proved why WCW’s future is so very bright as both men showed off unique offense and scored multiple near falls apiece. A superkick attempt by Lenny was caught by Iaukea who then landed a beautiful spinning heel kick to the mush. Iaukea then ascended to the top rope and flew through the air, narrowly missing his Superfly Splash, this enabled Lane to hit his split-legged moonsault and pick up a hard earned victory.

MATCH 2
1 Fall 20 Minute Time Limit
Harlem Heat vs. The British Bruisers
The newest team on the ultra competitive tag team scene, Johnny Boy Smith and David Taylor, proved that they are a force to be reckoned with, taking it to the former Unified World Tag Team Champions who spent most of the year dominating the titles. Smith pulled off an unbelievable full nelson suplex on the massive Stevie Ray, and might’ve pulled out the win if he’d been able to hold his bridge. Instead he was caught by a Harlem sidekick from Booker T. who followed it up with the Heatseeker top rope dropkick and picked up the duke for the former champs.

MATCH 3
1 Fall 20 Minute Time Limit
GenX Division Showcase
Lance Storm vs. ‘Kid Dynamite’ Koji Kanemoto
The former, and very first, GenX Division champion, Lance Storm and former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Kid Dynamite are, “possibly the two most evenly matched athletes on the entire roster!,” according to Mauro, and they certainly back up his claim in a long, back and forth contest. Kanemoto appeared to have the match won with a running knee to the face of Storm while he was seated, but Storm persevered, and it took landing both his Corkscrew Brainbuster and Flying Headbutt to pick up the victory.

MATCH 4
1 Fall 20 Minute Time Limit
GenX Division Showcase
Rey Mysterio, Jr. vs. Christian Cage of the Highlight Express
This one was all Cage in the early going, leaning on his much smaller counterpart. Once Rey Rey got going though, it was hard for Cage to catch him cleanly with any offense. That is until Cage was able to predict the movements of Mysterio and catch him coming off the top rope with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, but only gets 2! They exchanged more patent moves, Mysterio was even able to kick out of the Frog Splash, and reverse the Inverted Reverse Facebuster from Cage, dropkick him in the knee, he hit the ropes, basement dropkick to the face! Mysterio goes to the apron, he springboards off the top rope, reverses his momentum HUNACANRANA!!! 1-2-3! Mysterio wins a tremendous contest!
Cage gets up jawing with the official and then with Rey, Christian kicks the ropes in frustration, and Rey pats him on the back, and extends his hand to him!
PSYCHOSIS AND LA PARKA HIT THE RING!!! They drop Cage and then send him flying to the floor, they beat on Rey and dump him outside as well. Double suicide dives take out both men! BUT HERE COMES LENNY LANE, he gets a piece of La Parka before the heels run off and he checks on his partner. Lenny tries to get Christian to go to the back, but before all of that, Christian checks on Rey, and THE HIGHLIGHT EXPRESS ASSIST REY TO THE DRESSING ROOM.

MATCH 5
1 Fall 20 Minute Time Limit
FOR THE WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
©Diamond Dallas Page w/Kimberly vs. Buff Bagwell w/Miss Elizabeth
Page and Buff have been battling it out tooth and nail in recent weeks, this feud began shortly after the WCW/ECW Supershow and really escalated after these two man went coast to coast inside the Wargames. Now after some one upsmanship, it’s finally come to a head with both men trying to prove they are the next big thing in WCW. They go at it like a couple of cruiserweights in the early going, and it’s Page who takes the early advantage using his size advantage and leverage. But Buff has learned well in all his time spent with the World Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig and fights back. Bagwell looks very impressive throughout the contest and scores several nearfalls, but is never able to put DDP away. Page is able to reverse Buff’s Blockbuster into the DIAMOND CUTTER. BANG! This one is over!

Match 6
1 Fall – No Time Limit, No Disqualification – No Countout
Come Dressed as you are DETROIT STREET FIGHT
Steiner Bros. and Billy Kidman vs. Doc, CW Anderson, and Kendall Windham; Hell on Wheels
Two more of Michigan’s favorite sons, Rick and Scott, The Steiner Brothers come out to a thunderous ovation, along with their partner, the youngster Billy Kidman. This is Ricky’s first match back since being concussed at the hands of Doc, Anderson, and Windham; Hell on Wheels. Needless to say the Dog Faced Gremlin is ready to be unchained! As the masked man leads his troop to the ring, they are quickly met in the center of the aisle! The six men fight all over the entrance way and around the barricade. One of the more liquidly charged fans even passed along his chair to Scott Steiner who used it on CW Anderson, only to see Kendall Windham take the drunken man’s belt and start whipping Scott like a dog! Just then Billy Kidman FLEW off the ramp and took Kendall out!
While those four recovered and began battling their way back up the aisle, Ricky Steiner is getting himself some of Doc around the ringside area. The masked man has tasted the guard rail, the steel steps, as well as the ringpost before finally going to the eyes and creating himself some separation. Doc grabs the ring bell, and barely misses Steiner’s face as he chimes the ringpost forcing the bell out of his hands, and that is when Rick fired him face first into the ringpost and back into the ring! The Gremlin ascends to the top rope and catches Doc perfectly with his Super Bulldog and gets a satisfying 1..2…3 in his return to action!

Match 7
1 Fall 30 Minute Time Limit
FOR THE WCW GENX DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
©Dean Malenko vs. Scorpio
Defending champion Dean Malenko is returning to WCW for the first time since he defended the title back at Fall Brawl, and the reigning ECW Light Heavyweight Champion is taking on the man who says he was GenX before GenX was poppin. He is also a man that the ‘Lone Wolf’ knows quite well, the man they call ‘Primetime’ Scorpio! This one is all action, and the extremely confident Scorpio really takes it to Malenko in the early going, but Deano knows all the counters and keeps Scorpio from gaining any serious momentum. Malenko continually goes after the knee of Scorpio with numerous basement dropkicks to the patella as well as shinbreakers across his own thigh. This keeps Scorpio off the top rope, but not out of the game as he is no stranger to grappling himself. When Scorpio finally does go to the top rope it proves to be the biggest mistake of the contest as a missed Moonsault sent him crashing injured knee first into the mat, and the ‘Lone Wolf’ quickly locked in the Texas Cloverleaf and picked up a hard fought submission victory!

Match 8
1 Fall 60 Minute Time Limit
FOR THE UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TRIANGLE MATCH
©Ricky Steamboat vs. Lex Luger vs. Rick Martel
US Champ Ricky Steamboat has a tough test ahead of him tonight, taking on a man that is synonymous with that championship, Lex Luger, and also a man who has been a thorn in both their sides over recent weeks, Rick Martel. Steamboat tries his best to be the legal man in the ring at all times so that he is involved in any decision, and this proves to be a good strategy as Martel and Luger bicker over which of them remain legal. The Dragon uses every opportunity available to attempt pinfalls, but can’t hold either man down, and eats a bionic forearm from Luger, who is then blind tagged by Martel again. While they go nose to nose the Dragon recovers, and rolls up Martel from behind for the victory while Luger was in between the ropes and couldn’t make a save!
After the bout Luger and Martel once again got into each other’s face and came to blows. Luger got the best of Martel, put him in the Human Torture Rack, and left him lying in the middle of the ring as he disgustedly made his way up the ramp.

Col. Robert E. Lee Parker HANDCUFFED to the American Dream Dusty Rhodes
©Big Bubba and Tony Anthony, Southern Justice vs. The Nasty Boys
Parker tries his best to get out of being handcuffed to the Dream, but Dusty was having none of it, and put the Weaver Lock on the Col.! Before Bubba and Anthony could get to them, the Nasties got their hands on them and this one was underway!
Southern Justice and the Nasty Boys have at each other’s throats for well over a month now. Knowing one another very well these four bulls just go at it tooth and nail. It what could be a defining for Southern Justice’s tag title reign they were able to overcome the Nasty Boys without the help Col. Parker, directly anyway. As Sags prepared to come off the top rope onto Anthony, the Col. through salt or baby powder or something into the eyes of the Dream and was able to get himself uncuffed. Anthony then moved out of the way and Sags crashed and burned in the middle of the ring allowing DWB to tag in Rogers and take out Knobbs allowing his partner to plant Sags with his patent Sidewalk Bubba Slam for the victory.

LIGHTS OUT, NO TIME LIMIT
THUNDERDOME CAGE MATCH

Vs
Years of tension are finally culminating in this one. Sting and Rude have been at it off and on since 91, and Hennig and Flair have had a storied relationship and feud dating back to 92. Senior official Nick Patrick is more like a witness at a crime scene than referee in this one, staying out of the way mostly. In the early going things run like a standard tag team, NO DQ match, with each team tagging in and out, and the designated Terminators, Anderson and Norton, remaining in their teams respective corners. That is until the Stinger back body drops the Ravishing One into the lights, over the top rope, and crashing down onto Norton on the floor! The World Heavyweight Champion jumps the Stinger from behind, dumps him to the floor and delivers a double axe handle off the apron. AND HERE COMES THE NATURE BOY!!
Sting, Rude, Hennig, and Flair are all going at it at the ringside area, using the cage, the stairs, and the ringposts to their fullest advantages! Flair and Hennig are both bleeding buckets before long, and Sting is choking Rude across one of the cage rungs on the floor! Which brings in Scott Norton, and then Double A!!! Nick Patrick tries to convince Anderson and Norton to stop, but ends up getting driven back first into the ring apron, and is down on the floor!
The Stinger gets Rude into the ring and drops him with a Scorpion Death Drop, and locks him into the Scorpion Death Lock!!! Hennig tries to get to his partner, but Naitch gives him a low blow, and then takes his knee out with a chop block, WOOOOO! NOW we go to school, FIGURE FOUR FROM THE NATURE BOY!!! Rude and Hennig are in dire straits here, locked in two of the most painful holds in the sport! Norton comes charging in, but before he can make any saves, Arn Anderson plants him with the spinebuster, and NORTON’S TOWEL FLIES OUT OF HIS HANDS AND RIGHT ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE REVIVING NICK PATRICK ON THE FLOOR!
Patrick realizes he has a towel and hops into the ring, Double A shows him his towel, and Patrick calls for the bell!!!!! STING AND RIC FLAIR HAVE WON THUNDERDOME!
