THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE PRESENTS
TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING!
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 1996
BROADCAST ACROSS THE UNITED STATES ON TNT
BROADCAST LIVE FROM THE LA SPORTS ARENA
CHRIS CRUISE opens the show at ringside, and welcomes his co-host, LEE MARSHALL.
CRUISE and MARSHALL welcome us to the Sports Arena in beautiful Los Angeles, California for another edition of NWA Total Non-Stop Action!
This week, “Made in the USA” Madusa Miceli will meet Harvey Whippleman in a special arm-wrestling match. Madusa wanted a wrestling match, but Harvey refused, but the NWA said if Madusa could beat Harvey in tonight’s arm-wrestling match, then he would have to face Madusa in the ring . . . Curry Man, who’s come all the way from Bombay, India, will team with the Great Sasuke and Hayabusa to face Juventud Guerrera, Ultimo Dragon and Davey Jericho . . . Judge Jeff Jones makes his debut in the NWA, and says that he’s brought the dominant team in wrestling history with him, ChoTen, consisting of former NWA World Champion Masahiro Chono and Hiroyoshi Tenzan. Chono will be in singles action tonight against Disco Inferno . . . American Ace challenges Chris Candido for the NWA World TV title . . . And in the main event, Jacques Rougeau, Terry Funk and Atomic Titan team up to face NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett and the reigning World Tag Team Champions the Heavenly Bodies!
CRUISE then announces that the Ultimate Warrior was injured at the hands of Big Van Vader earlier this week at an NWA event, and as a result, the NWA has vacated the North American title. A tournament will be held at some point in the future to fill the vacancy.
A video is shown, highlighting recent events between Madusa Miceli and Harvey Whippleman. The video ends with Madusa chasing Whippleman around the ring after the Chamber of Horrors match last week on NWA-TNA.

MATCH #1
SPECIAL ARM-WRESTLING MATCH:
“MADE IN THE USA” MADUSA MICELI beats HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN. Madusa comes to the ring in red, white and blue striped pants and a ring jacket, while Whippleman comes out sweatpants and a tank-top. Whippleman keeps stalling when Madusa tries to lock up.
Finally, Whippleman says he’s ready and puts his elbow down on the table. Madusa holds up a finger, indicating that she needs a minute, then slowly removes her jacket, revealing a very low-cut top.
Harve gets a good look at Madusa’s cleavage, and his eyes almost pop out of his head! He still has his arm on the table, ready to start, and he doesn’t even notice Madusa lock their hands, and slam Whippleman’s hand down on the table!
When Harvey finally realizes what’s happened, he’s livid and he starts screaming at referee Dave Hebner, but Hebner informs him that it’s over, and he lost.
That means Harvey will have to face Madusa, in the ring, on next week’s show!
A video is shown, highlighting several of the Jr. Heavyweight wrestlers that are coming to the NWA, such as Jushin Liger, Ultimo Dragon, Juventud Guerrera, Great Sasuke, Shinjiro Otani and Hayabusa.
CRUISE and MARSHALL talk about the video we just saw, and put over all the wrestlers included in the video as the cream of the crop when it comes to Jr. Heavyweight wrestlers.
MARSHALL says that starting next month, the NWA will be holding a tournament to crown the very first NWA X DIVISION CHAMPION. Eight wrestlers will take part in that tournament, with the finals being held at BattleBowl, live on PPV, on December 28.
CRUISE says that the X Division isn't about weight limits, it's about NO limits. He say the eight wrestlers involved in the tournament will be revealed next week.
CRUISE and MARSHALL then welcome TOMMY WATANABE to the show. Cruise says that he’s an expert on Japanese wrestling, and he’s here to help them call the next match, a 6-man tag match that will feature several of the top Jr. Heavyweights from the Land of the Rising Sun, as well as Juvy Guerrera from Mexico, Curry Man from India, and Davey Jericho from right here in the USA.
WATANABE thanks Chris and Lee for having him on the show, then he settles in to call the next match with them.
VS.
MATCH #2:
CURRY MAN & GREAT SASUKE & HAYABUSA defeat JUVENTUD GUERRERA & ULTIMO DRAGON & DAVEY JERICHO. Referee Mark Curtis has his work cut out for him here, as these six men are all lightning-quick, and they fly all over the place! We get several tandem spots, including one where Curry Man, Sasuke and Hayabusa all take turns hitting moonsaults onto Juvy Guerrera, and one spot a few minutes later that sees Juvy, Dragon and Jericho all hit sunset flips on Curry Man, Sasuke and Hayabusa for nearfalls.
The match ends when Curry Man drops Davey Jericho with the Spice Rack for the pinfall.
STAN LANE is backstage with JUDGE JEFF JONES, HIROYOSHI TENZAN and MASAHIRO CHONO. Jones says his team has the perfect blend of speed and strength, and they are tag team wrestling personified! He says that he GUARANTEES that they will hold the NWA World Tag Team titles by years end, and says that he’s a man of his word, and has never made a promise that he couldn’t back up.
JONES says that he’s officially putting all the other teams in the NWA on notice, because when they step in the ring with ChoTen, they’ll be putting their careers on the line!
VS.
MATCH #3:
MASA CHONO (w/ Judge Jeff Jones & Hiroyoshi Tenzan) beats DISCO INFERNO. Disco puts up a good fight, but in the end, Chono overpowers him, and gets the win by submission with the STF.
A vignette airs featuring LORD NORMAN SMILEY, THE MAESTRO and JEEVES. They are walking around a swanky area of Los Angeles. Both Smiley and Maestro seem apalled as they watch the people around them. Smiley comments that several people have shoved past him, without so much as a “pardon me”, and Maestro says that these people have no class. Smiley says that from what he’s seen, that’s typical of Americans, they’re loud, obnoxious and without even a hint of class or civility.
Smiley and Maestro continue to complain, while Jeeves walks silently behind them, as the video comes to an end.
It’s time for the NWA CONTROL CENTER segment with STAN LANE
LANE talks about the NWA’s return to Pay-Per-View, BATTLEBOWL, airing live on Saturday, December 28.
So far, we know that there will be several “Lethal Lottery” tag team matches, where the teams are picked at random, and then the winners will take part in BattleBowl, a 10-man Battle Royal. The winner will receive the BattleBowl trophy!
As we heard earlier in the show, the finals of the upcoming X Division title tournament will take place at the BattleBowl event. Plus, the NWA World title will be defended on the show, although no challenger has been named as of yet.
LANE says that it’s going to be a big night of NWA wrestling that you definitely do not want to miss!

MATCH #4
NWA WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP:
CHRIS CANDIDO (Champ) (w/ Capt. Lou Albano) VS. AMERICAN ACE (w/ Madusa Miceli). Candido and Ace give the fans a fast-paced, exciting match that sees plenty of offence from both wrestlers. Candido gains the upper hand late in the match, and after dropping Ace with a delayed suplex, Candido heads to the top rope for the New Jersey Jam. Candido jumps from the top for the legdrop . . . but Ace rolls out of the way at the last second and Candido crashes to the mat! Ace crawls over and drapes an arm over Candido, but the Champion kicks out at 2. American Ace pulls Candido up, and delivers a Full Nelson Slam. Ace covers Candido again, and gets the 1, 2, 3!!!
AMERICAN ACE IS THE NEW WORLD TV CHAMPION!!!
Candido tries to attack Ace as he celebrates with the belt, but Ace gets the better of him and knocks Candido from the ring.
VS.
MAIN EVENT:
JACQUES ROUGEAU & TERRY FUNK & ATOMIC TITAN VS. JEFF JARRETT (NWA World Champ) & THE HEAVENLY BODIES (NWA Tag Team Champs). The fans are treated to a wild brawl in this match. When the match starts, Funk goes after Jarrett, and the World Champ spends the early going just trying to avoid the man who’s career he almost ended several weeks ago.
In the end, Funk finally gets ahold of Jarrett, and after pummeling Jarrett from pillar to post, he drops the World Champion on his head with the Piledriver and picks up the 1, 2, 3!
CRUISE and MARSHALL talk about what went down on tonight’s show, then hype next week’s show.
