Mike Tenay and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan open the show.
Tenay, “Welcome to ‘Empire State Wrestling’! We are at the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY and this is the first episode of what we believe will be an exciting wrestling promotion. Brain, what do you think?”
Heenan, “I’ll tell you how exciting this is going to be, I’m in Poughkeepsie.”
Tenay, “Poughkeepsie is a wonderful town, don’t listen to the “Brain’. Let’s get things started with the man who is in charge of ESW, our Commissioner!”
Roddy Piper comes out and the crowd goes crazy.
Tenay, “Commissioner Piper.”
Piper, “How ya doing? You too Boobs. I’m Roddy Piper and like I told the late great Adrian Adonis when I tore up the ‘Flower Shop’, the ‘Boss’ is back!”
Tenay, “Mr. Piper, why don’t you tell the fans what they are going to see in ESW.”
Piper, “Glad to. First of all, you’re going to see me verbally abuse ole’ Boobs here.”
Heenan, “Watch it, Piper, my lawyers are ready to sue you at the drop of a kilt.”
Piper, “Just funnin’ ya’ Boobs. Let’s talk about ESW. We are going to crown three Champions in the coming weeks, tag team champions, a television champion, and the big one, the Empire State Champion. The first one, the Empire State Tag Team Champions, will be decided tonight. The big, old, Bruise Brothers, Ron and Don Harris, are going to fight the Can-Am Express, and the winners are going to be the Champions. I’ll be out at the end of the show to talk about the other titles. Now I have to work to do, Boobs, you take over from here.”
Heenan, “Look Piper…”
Piper, “I ain’t got time right now.”
Piper leaves the set.
Tenay, “Brain, I think the Commissioner has it in for you.”
Piper, “That skirt wearing ham and egger better watch it.”
Tenay, “Alright, we know what our main event is, the Bruise Brothers vs. the Can-am Express for the tag team titles, and we know who is in our opening match. Let’s go to the ring for Sid Vicious!”
Match #1
Sid Vicious vs. Rick Fuller
The big, young, Fuller will be a test for Sid. They exchange rights and lefts and neither man takes a step back. Finally Sid begins to wear down Fuller. He uses the chokeslam to win the match. Sid grabs the mike from the ring announcer.
Vicious, “My name is Sid Vicious, and I rule the world!”

Match #2
King Kong Bundy vs. Bull Buchanan
The massive Bundy meets the young Buchanan. Early in the match Buchanan matches the veteran power move for power move. Bundy slowly begins to take over and wins with the Atlantic City Avalanche.

PG-13 vs. The Rock and Rock Express
JC Ice and Wolfie D wait in the ring. We hear,
Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson make their way to the ring. They great the ringside fans and climb into the ring. JC Ice takes the mike.
Ice, “Look at you two old men, wearing mullets and glad handing the little girls! You’re about to be taught a lesson by two hoodies that you won’t forget! You ain’t wrestling no Midnight Express!”
Morton takes the mike.
Morton, “No, we’re wrestling two loudmouth, punk kids who are about to be taught a lesson!”
The bell rings and the fight is on. PG-13 fare well against the veterans. Despite their talk, they can fight. Wolfie D traps Morton in the corner. JC Ice gets in a few shots a Ricky is in trouble. He escapes and tags in Robert. Gibson goes to work and PG-13 are in trouble. Morton joins his partner and they double dropkick Wolfie D. Gibson covers him and referee Chad Patton counts the fall.
Winners-The Rock and Roll Express
Tenay is in the interview area.
Tenay, “The Brain chose not to join me for this and in a minute you’ll understand why. I am about to introduce a man who is a legend in this sport, a man who has been at the top for several years. He has signed an exclusive contract to wrestle for Empire State Wrestling, ladies and gentleman, the immortal...Hulk Hogan!”
We hear,
Tenay, “Hulkster, welcome to Empire State Wrestling!”
Hogan, “You know something MIke Tenay? Hulk Hogan has been around and on top for a long time now! I’ve been to the WWF, I’ve been to ECW, I’ve been to ACW, but I’ve found a home now! The millions of Hulkamanics in New York were behind me from the beginning! They backed me against the Iron Sheik, against Paul Orndorff, and against Andre! I love them and they love me!”
Tenay, “You heard, your old friend, Roddy Piper, earlier. The Empire State Title is going to be decided soon, I know you want a shot at that.”
Hogan, “That’s right Mike Tenay! The Hulkster and titles go together and I want to add that one to my collection!”
Tenay, “I think the fans would love that. Now let’s see Hulk Hogan in the ring.”
Match #4
Hulk Hogan vs, Rochester Roadblock
The big youngster from Rochester has a tall task before him. He tries to jump Hogan before the bell. He smashes Hogan with big forearms, but the Hulkster shakes them off. He goes to work and the Roadblock is in trouble. Hogan drops him with a big boot and hits the legdrop for the win.

The Terminator vs. Tatanka
The man with the facepaint takes on the Lumbee Indian from North Carolina. This is a very close match. The Terminator uses his size to punish Tatanka. The crowd gets behind the Native American. Tatanka rallies and uses vicious tomahawk chops to drop the Terminator. He covers him and referee Charles Robinson counts the fall.
Winner-Tatanka
The Can-Am Express is with Mike Tenay and Bobby Heenan.
Tenay, “With us are the Can-Am Express. One of the teams that will challenge for the Empire State Tag Titles. They will face the big, and bad Bruise Brothers. Gentlemen, are you ready?”
Furnas, “Those two bit HIllbillies are tough. They don’t seem to feel pain, so Dan and I are going to have ratchet it up a notch.”
Kroffat, “Doug’s right. We know this is going to be difficult, but any big title is hard to win. Were ready.”
Tenay, “Let’s hear pre recorded comments from the Bruise Brothers.”
The Harris Brothers are standing in another interview area.
R. Harris, “Can-Am Express, you’ve got all those fancy moves, but that wouldn’t work at the Dew Drop Inn against Don and I and it won’t work in the ring!”
D. Harris, “Just like a Saturday night at home, we’re going to pound you and pound you again! We came to New York to show you Yankees about fighting and that’s what we are going to do!”
Tenay and Heenan close the segment.
Heenan, “Those two seem tough, and dumb. I wonder if they need someone to take, or I mean handle their money?”
Tenay, “I don’t know, Brain, why don’t you ask them?”

Empire State Tag Team Championship
The Bruise Brothers vs. The Can-Am Express
This is a fast paced, exciting contest. The Bruise Brothers don't wrestle, but they fight with the best of them. Ron and Don trap Furnas in the corner. The punish the former Tennessee football player. Furnas is in real trouble. Furnas is able to escape and tag in Kroffat. The Canadian goes to work. He clears the ring and the Harris boys confer on the floor. They return and pick up the pace of the match. All four men end up in the ring. Referee Jack Doane escorts Furnas out of the ring, and while this is happening, the Bruise Brothers use a double chokeslam slam Kroffat for the win. Commissioner Piper comes to the ring and hands the titles to the Bruise Brothers.
Winners-The Bruise Brothers (Empire State Tag Team Champions)
Roddy Piper joins Tenay and Heenan.
Tenay, “Mr. Piper, what an opening night for ESW! The Bruise Brothers are the tag team champions, but I don't think the Can-Am Express will not take the lying down.”
Piper, “What a fight, that’s the type of action I love!”
Tenay, “O.K. that’s one title, we have two more. What can you tell us about the other two?”
Piper, “I’ll tell you about the TV Title. Next week, four guys are going to wrestle in a one night tournament. Those guys are Wolf Hawkfield, the Patriot, Bobby Duncum Jr. and Johnny Ace. That’s four pretty good fighters.”
Tenay, “You are right about that. How about the Empire State Championship?”
Piper, “I’ll tell you...next week.”
Tenay, “That’s cruel, Mr. Piper, just cruel. Can you tell us anything else?”
Piper, “I can, I have signed a match for next week. Besides the TV Title Tournament, we have signed a six man tag team match, one one team, we have Sid Vicious, King Kong Bundy and Mr. Hughes and they are going to fight, Tatanka, the Giant and Hulk Hogan!”
Heenan, “Piper, that is a great match, I still think you’re an ham and egger, but you signed a great match.”
Piper, Coming from you, Boobs, that means,,,very little.”
Tenay, “O.K., next week, the TV Title Tournament and the big six man tag team match, plus Commissioner Piper will tell us about the Empire State Title. Join us, next Saturday night, at 11:00, for the fastest 90 minutes in wrestling, right here on the Empire Sports Network!”
