They talk about the action-packed show they have lined up for the kids here today where we'll get some interview time with none other than the ECW Champion himself; "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson!
Albano would like to know what kind of strings he had to pull to get a coup like that. Buck has no idea what the Captain is talking about before sending us to the first match of the morning.
All matches announced by Joel Gertner and officiated by S.D. Jones
Tag-Team Match: Cousin Jamie w/ Doug Gilbert vs. Mike Quackenbush
The Bayou Boys Cousin Jamie and "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert Dosey Doe about the ring getting a good reaction from the kids. Mike Quackenbush gets to show off some of his innovative offensive moves in this one; as does former "Double" Light Heavyweight Champ Cousin Jamie who put Quackenbush down for the count with the Paydirt single underhook DDT!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
ECW President Eric Bischoff tells us that there is only one really important thing that begins with the letter E and that's the # 1 Wrestling company in the world today; Eastern Championship Wrestling!
Match: Arn Anderson vs. Devon Hughes w/ Spike Hughes
ECW Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson has a good back and forth bout with one half of the Hughes Brothers in big Devon who gets a two count off the Champ when he follows up the 360 degree corkscrew back elbow smash with a Spinebuster! Testify! Arn however dominates most of the match-up before showing Devon who the true master of the Spinebuster is when he hits one of his own for the Pinfall.
After the match we're brought the the Slammin' Saturdays set where Buck Zumhoff is flying solo. He says that Slammin' Saturdays has never had a bigger guest than the man he's about to introduce today; the two time and current ECW Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson!
Arn comes out and Zumhoff asks him what it's like to be a Champion. Double A tells "Rock 'N Roll" he'd ought to know being a multiple time Light Heavyweight Champ himself. But to answer his question it feels damned good. He then tells the kids that being a Champion takes alot of heart and integrity in addition to having the physical strength to overcome your opponents. He also warns them that being a Champion puts a big ol' bullseye on your back and sometimes it's even hard to trust your best friend when you're wearing the belt. But in the end all the kids should aspire to be the best the can be no matter what their promfession is; whether they're a police officer, a school teacher; or even a pro wrestler. Buck thanks Arn for coming out.
The camera then cuts to a "Rocking 'N Rolling" segment where The Honky Tonk Man invites the kids at home to party with a song those Bayou Boys are big fans of; "Cotton-Eyed Joe" by the Rednex!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Welcoming us back from the last commercial break of the evening Buck Zumhoff and Captain Lou Albano bring us back in time for the Wrestling Rewind Main Event all the way back from January 18th of 1995 when the current # 1 Contender for Arn Anderson's Title faced off with then Eastern States Champion "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam!
Match: Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam
S.D. Jones starts the match and the two competitors size one another up. Chris Jericho fakes the Eastern States Champion out when he looks to want to lock up; but stops short and kicks Rob Van Dam in the gut. Jericho follows this up with a quick right and chops his opponent into the corner where he mounts the second rope and begins to choke Rob out. Jones is quick to break this up. Coming back to RVD, Chris whips him across the ring into the corner; but the ever agile Van Dam leaps up and connects with a springboard crossbody off the corner onto a shocked Jericho; getting a near two. Both men are quick to their feet but Jericho is soon taken back down to the mat with an armdrag. He gets back up only to fall victim to the second. Seemingly dazed Chris hobbles up to the ropes as Van Dam comes charging in with a clothesline. Seeing him coming; the "Loud-Mouth" welcomes him with a boot to the face. Seeing his chance as Rob reels from the blow, he charges forward with a clothesline; but Van Dam counters with a roundhouse kick that sends Chris down for a two count.
Back up first RVD hammers Jericho with a series of kicks before Irish whipping him across the ring. On the rebound Jericho slides under "Mr. Wednesday Night's" feet popping back up behind him. RVD is quick to react with a legsweeo; but the equally agile Chris hops out of the way and knocks Rob's block off with a jumping corkscrew roundhouse kick. Making the cover he gets a two count. Keeping on the Champ Chris Jericho grabs Van Dam from behind and hits a suplex. Back up Jericho hits several elbow drops on Rob before mockingly pointing to his shoulders and chanting "Rob... Van... Dam!" to a chorus of boos. He then hits a final elbow drop before making another cover; almost coming away with a two. He then traps the seated Van Dam in a double chicken wing hold. The fans gets behind the Eastern States Champ as he fights his way up to his feet and spinning about lets loose with a series of elbows freeing himself from the "Long Island Loud-Mouth's" grasp. Rob gets several hits in before he whips Jericho into the corner. Holding onto Van Dam however Chris reverses sending Rob back first into the corner. Charging him Chris Jericho attempts a spear; but RVD has gotten out of Dodge and Chris crashes into the corner steel. This gives Rob Van Dam some time to recover and he begins hammering on his opponent before whipping him across; no; Jericho has reversed again! On the rebound Jericho goes for a clothesline, but RVD has ducked it and when Chris goes for a follow-up kick Rob grabs his leg, steps over; and takes him down with another roundhouse kick! Stumbling up to his feet in a daze Jericho finds himself in the corner and Rob capitalizes with several shoulder thrusts to the "Loud-Mouth's" mid-section before flipping over and going for another! Chris moves to stop it however and walks right into a Northern Lights suplex! RVD bridges it! 1!...2!...
Jericho gets his shoulder up! 3! Keeping on Jericho, Van Dam helps him to his feet and attempts another whip into the corner only to have it reversed again as Chris goes bounding into the ropes and connects with a springboard bulldog! Catching his breath while RVD is down, Jericho heads for the ropes again. Springboard moonsault! Van Dam has rolled out of the way! While Jericho clutches his ribs writhing in pain Rob Van Dam gets up to his feet and hops up onto the top turnbuckle! He's going for the Five-Star Frog Splash! Wait! Big Bad John has Van Dam's foot! Angry RVD manages to kick John in the face before leaping from the turnbuckle! Jericho has moved! This time it is Van Dam's turn to hit the canvas hard! Taking advantage Jericho rushes in with a roll-up! 1!...2!...
Van Dam kicks out! 3! Jericho can't believe it and argues with S.D. Jones as Rob stumbles up to his feet. He grabs Van Dam frpm behind. It's suplex time! But Rob bumps the ref as he wiggles free and lands behind Jericho going for a suplex of his own! Jericho kicks back nailing Van Dam in the groin. Jones turns. He didn't see it! Grabbing the Champ's legs out from under him Jericho has some trouble turning RVD over; but does it and locks in the elevated Boston Crab! Van Dam fights it and the fans rally behind him! Just then however Big Bad John pops up onto the apron! S.D. Jones goes and argues with him to get down. Behind him Van Dam has reached the ropes! Undaunted Chris Jericho pulls Rob off the ropes and drags him back into the center of the ring! Slowly John gets down off the apron allowing Jones to return to the match. Jericho still has the Boston Crab locked in and Rob Van Dam is sweating pain as he taps out! Jericho has won it! Jericho has won it! Climbing up into the ring Big Bad John hoists Jericho up onto his shoulder as they celebrate his victory.
Lights Fade.

10/26/96 - The New Daisy Theater Memphis, TN
Buck Zumhoff and the Honky Tonk Man thank us for joining the original Rock 'N Roll broadcasting team for another exciting edition of ECW Weekend Warriors, tonight coming to you live from the New Daisy Theater in Memphis, Tennessee! They then hype an action-packed card they have lined up tonight! Sir William Regal will once again square off with former Mexi-King member Homicide, Ron Simmons will be in action; and the ECW Women's Champion "Gorgeous Michele Starr will face an opponent of Buck's own choosing for the Women's Title! HTM doesn't even know who the lovely lady will be and wants Buck to spill it. Zumhoff says he's just going to have to wait like everyone else. They then reveal that none of these matches will even be the Main Event! Because in the Main Event "The Dark Propher" Brimstone will team with the ECW Tag-Team Champions Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes against Dark Circle members Papa Shango, Barry Windham and "The Man-Beast" Rhino!
Joel Gertner makes with the announcements and Danny Davis officiates all matches.
Math: William Regal vs. Homicide
Homicide goes right after William Regal, but this time Sir William doesn't cut the young punk any slack and outwrestles him at every turn. Homicide gets some offense in here and there; but Regal is looking to teach him a lesson and does just that dominating most of the match as he systematically dissects his opponent befor forcing Homicide to submit using the Regal Stretch arm trap cross-legged STF!
Just then the Mexi-Kings rush the ring! Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Hernandez beat the hell out of Regal before tossing him out of the ring! They then turn their attention to their former partner Homicide! Homicide who's now seated in the corner attempts to get up, but Guerrero and Hernandez sit him right back down and stomp a mudhole in into him! They then drag him from the corner where Eddie assists Hernandez lifting him up before Shawn flattens him with the Border Toss throwing crucix powerbomb! Guerrero then gets on the microphone and tells Homicide that he's going to give his punk ass one last chance to redeem himself; in a match against Guerrero this Wednesday!
We're then brought backstage where "The Machiavellan Mauler" Mongo Vyle is trying to "talk some sense" into "The Man-Beast" Rhino. he tells his Tag-Team partner that Papa Shango is just using him like he's using everybody in the Dark Circle and he wants Rhino to be smart for once and come with him. That together Destruction Inc. can reclaim the Tag-Team Championships! But that they have to do it away from the Shango because the Dark Circle is poison. Rhino however isn't hearing it and pushes Mongo away before storming off! We see him meet up with Shango and Windham who want to know what Vyle wanted; but Rhino says he didn't want anything. He's just another punk.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Back from the break ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels introduces the latest woman in the ECW locker room and Buck Zumhoff's hand-picked opponent to face "Gorgeous" Michele Starr for the Women's Title tonight! And it is...
Buckina zumhoff?!! It's obviously Buck in drag with a veil over the lower part of his face and Terri has trouble keeping a straight face as Buck in his best falsetto tells her how when her cousin Buck called her on the phone she just new she had to come down here and teach that filthy Michele Starr a lesson. She asks Runnels if she knew that Buckina taught "The Original Rock 'N Roller" all of his crazy dance moves. Apparently Terri did not.
Women's Title Match: Michele Starr vs. Buckina Zumhoff
"The Gorgeous One" Michele Starr comes down to the ring with Joe E. Legend and he throws a fit when he sees his opponent in the ring. "That's a man!" he keeps screaming, insisting it isn't fair he has to face a man for the Women's Championship! Davis seems to find all this amusing and starts the match anyway. Zumhoff goes right after Starr who keeps running away! He hops out of the ring where Captain Lou Albano and Honky are now on commentary and HTM grabs Michele and rolls him back inside! Starr keeps asking the ref if he saw that?! Saying that being Honky layed hands on him, Buckina should be DQed! Buckina finally gets his hands on Michele however and beats him around the ring while Starr squeals and attempts to escape! Zumhoff hits the "Rocking 'N Rolling" springboard DDT on Michele (apparently adopted from her cousin) and hooks the leg! 1!... 2!...
Starr kicks out! Buckina pulls Michele up to his feet, but "The Gorgeous One" rakes the eyes and escaping across the ring shouts at Buckina not to touch him! Albano and Honky find this amusing and say that Buckina does seem to have more testosterone than the average woman. The Captain even thinks he saw a moustache. Zumhoff continues to beat on Starr and the audience loves it, especially when Buckina goes up top for the missile dropkick and gives them a little dance! Michele Starr however springs up to his feet and knocks Zumhoff from the turnbuckle crotching his opponent! And goes up top he hits a superplex!
Michele Starr seems to have knocked the wind out of himself and it takes a while for him to get back up, but when he does he runs the ropes and hits the Falling Starr Splash for the three count! After the match "Gorgeous" rips the veil off Buckina's face revealing that she was Buck Zumhoff the whole time! This is shocking! "See! See! It's a man! I told you!" he berates Danny Davis as...
A video clip featuring snippets from matches that took place this past Wednesday's show. We see "Mr. Wednesday Night" Rob Van Dam hit the 5-Star Frog Splash on Doug Gilbert, "Mangler's Monster" The Blitzkrieg squash Tully Blanchard with a Muscle Buster, "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero hit the Frog Splash on Erin O'Grady, "The Long Island Loud-Mouth" Chris Jericho lock the Walls of Jericho on Taka Michinoku, Scott Taylor turn out Aryan von Raschke's lights with a Superkick; and finally big Ron Simmons lay Chris Benoit flat with the Dominator inverted front powerslam! The ECW Wednesday Nights logo then appears.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
ECW Correspondent Terri Runnels is in front of the ECW Banner with Ron Simmons! She asks him how he feels after winning to Chris Benoit albiet via DQ this week. How do you think he feels?! He don't have the damned Title does he?!
Match: Ron Simmons vs. Doug Gilbert w/ Cousin Jamie
Though "The Redneck Rebel" Doug Gilbert does manage to get in a little offense, Ron Simmons mostly takes his frustrations out on the Bayou Boy whom he puts down for the three count with the Dominator inverted front powerslam. Damn!
After the match we're taken back stage for Honky Tonk Man's "Rock 'N Rolling" segment where he invites us to party with this week's # 1 Billboard hit; Sublime with "What I Got!"
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Zumhoff, Albano; and Honky welcome us back from the last commercial break of the evening before hyping tonight's huge Main Event! They talk about what went down this past Wednesday where "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango and the villainous Dark Circle set up "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone and fellow ex-Circle member Pogo the Clown and Luna Vachon during their match with Tag-Team Champions Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes! While the Tag Champs initially left without aiding Brimstone and Pogo; they later returned to help Ronnie Garvin's security team subdue the out of control members of the Dark Circle. Tonight's match was requested by "The Soul Stealer" himself who took offense at Dreamer and Rhodes getting involved in his business. Voodoo drums then begin to pound as mist fills the arena and the lights go out.
Gertner: The following Tag-Team contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first weighing a combined 760 lbs.; they are the Dark Circle; "The Soul Stealer" Papa Shango, "The Man-Beast" Rhino; and "Blackjack" Barry Windham!
The Dark Circle head down to ringisde and Shango lets loose with a shrill warcry as he does some voodoo theatrics inside the ring.
Gertner: And now introducing their opponents this evening weighing a combined 788 lbs. they are the ECW Tag-Team Champions Tommy Dreamer and Dustin Rhodes; and "The Dark Prophet" Brimstone!
Main Event: Brimstone, Dreamer; & Rhodes vs. Shango, Windham; & Rhino
Brimstone gets in the ring first and he wants Papa Shango bad! "The Soul Stealer" has no intentions of getting in the ring however and Barry Windham starts things off. Deciding to wait for his chance at Shango, "The Dark Prophet" tags in Dustin Rhodes! Barry and Dustin take their time sizing one another up before locking it up. The two men have some good back and forth chemistry with Dustin hitting a sprinboard bulldog off the second rope; and Barry nailing a sunset flip powerbomb before later turning "The American Nightmare" inside out with a lariat! Dustin beats the three count and Windham gives him some trouble getting to his corner; but manages to eventually make the tag to Tommy Dreamer!
The Tag Champs get some double-teaming in on Barry with Dreamer setting Windham up in the corner for the Shattered Dreams running lowblow! It might've called for the DQ has he connects; but Rhino entered the ring and charging across cut Rhodes in half with the Gore striking spear! This distracted Dreamer enough that Barry hit another lariat this, this time on "The Innovator of Violence" and as Tommy staggers up to his feet the now legal Rhino connects with a Gore for Dreamer too! He hooks the leg! 1!... 2!... Tommy kicks out! But he's also in trouble as Rhino dominates him, tossing him with a release German Suplex onto his head before torqueing his neck in a rear headlock! Dreamer fights it while "The Man-Beast" screams at him to tap! Dreamer eventually rallies back as the crowd gets behind him, fights out with some back elbows and fires back with a DDT! He makes the cover but only gets a two! Rhino is a bit addled afterward but continues to fight with Tommy for some time before being flattened by Dreamer's fireman's carry slam! He bounces to his corner and makes the hot tag to Papa Shango!
"The Soul Stealer" and Tommy collide in the middle of the ring! But it's Papa Shango who comes out of the exchange unscathed! Dreamer goes down hard from a clothesline and Shango struts about letting out his warcry! He then pulls Tommy up to his knees and begins bashing his head in with fists and clubbing forearms! Dreamer finally manages to catch Shango's elbow strike and manages to get up to his feet only to get kicks in the gut and flattened by Death Valley Driver! Papa doesn't even go for the cover, instead deciding to punish Tommy with the Anaconda Vise! He holds it and works Dreamer over for a bit seemingly basking in "The Innovator's" screams! He then lets it go and pulls Tommy up to his feet! But Dreamer rolls him up! 1!... 2!.... Shango kicks out just before the three! And Tommy is up looking to his corner for the tag with Shango hot on his heels! And he makes the hot tag to...
Brimstone! "The Dark Prophet" enters the ring and "The Soul Stealer" wants nothing to do with him! But that doesn't stop Brimstone from charging in with the punches! He batters Shango around for a bit before whipping him into the ropes and cuts him down with a knee to the gut! He pulls him up, but Shango counters with a snapmare and running the ropes connects with a low dropkick to the face! He hooks the leg! But Brimstone kicks out at two! Papa is right back up and begins working Brimstone over! He stomps him! He punches him! He elbows him! And he even fires off with a headbutt! But Brimstone will not be denied! He keeps on getting to his feet and now the two men are throwing punches in the center of the ring! Papa is taking the worst of it and gets driven into the corner where Brimstone pummels him into an unmoving heap! He then puts him up on the top rope while on the outside Barry and Rhino are busy picking a fight with the Tag-Team Champs! And they give them one! This distracts Danny Davis however and while he's ordering them back to their corners Papa Shango lets loose with a face full of Voodoo Mist! Brimstone clutches his eyes and begins screaming as he reels back getting the attention of Davis who only sees Papa Shango stand up on the top turnbuckle and leaping off connect with a missile dropkick! Brimstone goes down hard! "The Soul Stealer" is back up and as Brimstone gets to one knee he grabs him by the head and hits a DDT! 1!.... 2!....
Brimstone kicks out before the threee! Papa Shango cannot believe it! Brimstone is crawling toward the ropes which he uses to get to one knee! Shango meanwhile charges in, but Brimstone back body drops him over the top rope! But "The Soul Stealer" grabs the top rope and lands on the apron! Brimstone thinks he is down and turns to the ropes only to be grabbed by Shango who hits the hairpull hangman! A full on brawl has broken out on the outside as Papa climbs back into the ring and picking Brimstone up to his feet hits the Voodoo inverted shoulderbreaker! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!... 3! Papa Shango has won it for his team!
Lights Fade.

Sublime reminds me of some sublime times in my life. 40 Oz. to Freedom and especially next year's Second-Hand Smoke were two of my favorite albums of the 90's. I preferred 311 overall as a band, but Sublime's Santeria is the best song either band did.
Anywho, really fun main event brawl to end Weekend Warriors. Papa needed this victory desperately, but I still like Brimstone's chances to become ECW's resident Cult Leader. And I especially love what you're doing with Ron Simmons, I wouldn't want to be Doug Gilbert today. I can't wait to see him get his hands on Benoit. You've really built this one very well, and I think would be one of your hotter programs at the moment, which is really saying something. Ron might need a little bit of help if he plans on taking that Eastern States championship from Benoit though. And I can't wait for Regal vs. Eddie, the storyline is nearly irrelevant as I picture the Rembrandt those two will put together when they finally match up.
Good stuff here bud Peace Jeff
