AGRIDOME ARENA IN REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN
MATCH #1:
SHAWN MICHAELS beat STEVE DISALVO. Michaels picks up the first win of his young career via pinfall with a bodypress from the top rope.
MATCH #2:
DAVEY BOY SMITH (w/ Dynamite Kid) beat THE COBRA via pinfall when he caught the Cobra jumping off the top rope and slammed him to the mat.
MATCH #3:
BAD NEWS ALLEN (w/ JR Foley) beat JIM NEIDHART via referee’s stoppage. Late in the match, while JR Foley distracted the referee, Allen beat on Neidhart outside the ring with a chair, busting Neidhart open, then posted him. By the time the two returned to the ring, Neidhart was a bloody mess and referee Wayne Hart stopped the match.
Allen continued to assault Neidhart after the match was over, until Bret Hart hit the ring and brawled with Allen. JR Foley hit Bret from behind, allowing Allen to get the upper hand, and he busted Bret’s forehead open as well before security separated the two.
MATCH #4
STREETFIGHT:
BOBBY DUNCUM VS. THE MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ Bobby Heenan). Both men hit the ring and tore into each other as soon as the bell sounded. There was nothing pretty about this one, as Duncum and the Superstar brawled inside and outside the ring, and hit each other with practically everything that wasn’t nailed down. Duncum gained the upper hand late in the match, as he pummeled the Superstar with a chair, but Bobby Heenan tripped Duncum as he ran the ropes, and when Duncum turned his attention to Heenan, the Superstar attacked from behind. Superstar quickly wore Duncum down, and locked on the Cobra Clutch for the submission victory.
MATCH #5
NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP:
RIC FLAIR (World Champ) VS. BRET HART. The fans got their money’s worth with this one, as Bret and Flair put on a scientific wrestling clinic for a full 60 minutes. Hart had his head bandaged after being busted open earlier in the night by Bad News Allen, and late in the match, the cut over Bret’s eye started bleeding again, but he didn’t let that slow him down.
As they passed the 55-minute mark, both men, realizing that time is running out, really pushed for a pin or submission. They exchanged holds and counterholds at a feverish pace. Bret got a series of quick nearfalls, but Flair always got a shoulder up at the last second. Flair went for his signature hold, the Figure-4, but Bret grabbed Flair’s head and rolled him up in a small package for a VERY close nearfall.
The time ran out and the bell rung just as Bret had Flair locked in a Sleeperhold in the middle of the ring.
