Broadcast in: Tennessee, Kentucky
Your Broadcasters: Lance Russell & Dave Brown

-We go now to Channel 5 Studios here in Memphis to Lance Russell and Dave Brown-
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to “Championship Wrestling ‘84”, and announce that The Gilberts won the Southern Tag Team Titles under controversial circumstances. A gleeful Jimmy Hart makes his way out with “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert and Tommy Gilbert, and says all is right with the world again! Hart cackles and then says three of the four titles are in the First Family and soon enough, the CWA Heavyweight Title will be in their possession as well. Lance then asks Eddie when he and Tommy give the Rock n’ Roll Express a rematch, since he cheated to win the belts. Eddie says he could sue Lance for a comment like that. As far as the Rock n’ Roll Express go, they can go the back of the line and get a shot when he and his “dear father” feel like giving them one.
Jimmy Hart then says that he has more major news regarding a new member of the First Family. Hart says his goal is to run the likes of Lawler, Dundee, Rich and this piece of garbage Jake “The Snake” Roberts out of CWA before Christmas. And he has found another man who can help make that dream a reality. Jimmy then teases that the newest First Family member is straight out of Hell’s Kitchen in New York, and he is a former World Heavyweight Champion. The man he is referring to is “The Golden Boy” Adrian Adonis – and Adrian will be at the Mid South Coliseum on Monday! Hart cackles as he walks off with the Gilberts, while Lance and Dave sell the big news of Adrian Adonis coming to the CWA!
MATCH: THE ROCK n’ ROLL EXPRESS vs. KURT VON HESS & THE SOUTHERN SPOILER
Ricky Morton scores the pin via pinfall at 7:03 when he connects with a big dropkick on the Spoiler… The Rock n’ Roll Express bounce back from being cheated out of the Southern Tag Team Titles as they dominate two larger opponents. Morton hits the dropkick to score the pin, and then joins Robert Gibson to shake hands with the fans around ringside.
The Rock n’ Roll Express make their way over to the desk, where Lance Russell mentions that they were cheated out of the titles last Monday. Ricky Morton says there is no use crying over spilled milk – they knew Eddie Gilbert was going to pull some kind of scam. Lance praises the Rock n’ Roll Express for wrestling two long matches before even facing the Gilberts, while Eddie and Tommy got a bye. Morton tells Lance that it doesn’t ultimately matter. The Gilberts can try to scam all they want, but sooner or later they will have to put the belts on the line against the Rock n’ Roll Express.

The massive Russian Korchenko makes his first appearance in the Channel 5 Studios as we come back. Lance Russell mentions that Korchenko has wreaked havoc at the Coliseum in the last two weeks with victories over Rufus R. “Freight Train” Jones and Norvell Austin. Korchenko asks if this was truly the best competition that the CWA can offer. Lance says Korchenko might have more of a challenge when he faces Corporal Kirchner this Monday! Korchenko says he will destroy Kirchner like he has everyone in front of him, and then he will take “minty, minty” more American dollars.
MATCH: KORCHENKO vs. DAVID OSWALD:
Korchenko defeated Oswald via pinfall at 3:34 with a running clothesline… The big Russian is a terrible wrestler, so mercifully this match is kept very short. Korchenko gets to show off his strength with some slams and a big knee drop. He then finishes off Oswald with a running clothesline to get the pin.
Jerry “The King” Lawler is out next with Jake “The Snake” Roberts to speak with Dave Brown. Brown announces that Lawler will finally get his shot against Southern Champion King Kong Bundy, while Jake Roberts will tangle with Rick Rude. Lawler says that it all comes down to this Monday night, when he gets Bundy in the ring. The King says he promised “Macho Man” Randy Savage that he will get even with Bundy and he will do it! Jake then warns Jimmy Hart not to get involved, but he has paid Jake Roberts good money to slap that DDT on Hart! Jake then is asked about Rick Rude.
Jake Roberts says Rude has a tremendous physique, but The Snake has a tremendousmind. The Snake says that he’s always two steps ahead of Rude, and the match will end with the DDT whether Rick likes it or not. Dave then questions Jake on if in fact he will have The King’s back later in the night, or if he is in fact pulling some kind of scheme. Roberts snickers and says all he can ask everyone to do is trust him. Lawler and Roberts walk off as Lance Russell and Dave Brown send us to commercial.

Dutch Mantell and the Dirty White Boy are out next. Dave Brown shows video of Mantell trying to use Shoo Baby on Monday, only for it to be taken away by Tommy Rich. Mantell says that footage proved that Tommy Rich is a dirty, rotten thief and he demands that Rich come out here and hand over Shoo Baby. Tracy Smothers makes his way out now and tells Mantell that Tommy Rich is out in Atlanta today and couldn’t be here, so Shoo Baby is still staying right where it belongs. Mantell then confers with the White Boy, and says that Smothers needs to learn a lesson. He should have never come out here without his partner.
The Dirty White Boy then drills Smothers as Dutch Mantell begins kicking him. White Boy hurls Smothers into the announce table and then holds him up as Dutch Mantell connects with rights and lefts. The Dirty White Boy then lifts Smothers up for a pile-driver on the floor, but thankfully “Superstar” Dundee and The New Generation arrive to stop it! Dundee brawls with Mantell and throws him into the ring post, leading Dutch to take off. The White Boy fights both members of the New Generation. The New Generation help Tracy Smothers away, as Randy Barber steps into the ring for his scheduled match.
MATCH: CWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION “SUPERSTAR” BILL DUNDEE vs. RANDY BARBER:
Dundee scores the win via pinfall at 6:11 with the Bomb’s Away knee drop across the chest… The Superstar is a man possessed after that brawl, as he takes Randy Barber apart. He leaps high off that top rope to score the win, and then makes his way over to the desk.
CWA Heavyweight Champion “Superstar” Bill Dundee tells Lance Russell that he doesn’t know what got into Dutch Mantell, but he doesn’t like it! Dundee talks about Tommy Rich having commitments in Atlanta today, so he was more than happy to step in and help a young kid like Tracy Smothers. In fact, Dundee challenges Dutch Mantell to face him on Monday night in the Mid-South Coliseum and he will even put the belt on the line! Eddie Marlin makes his way out and agrees to the match. Eddie then tells Bill Dundee to knock some sense back into the Dutchman.

Southern Heavyweight Champion King Kony Bundy and Rick Rude are out with Jimmy Hart and Playboy Frazier. Bundy tells Lance Russell that the Memphis fans need to get ready to have their dreams crushed on Monday night. Because there is not a shot in hell that The King is leaving with the Southern Heavyweight Title! Bundy says Jake Roberts can try whatever he wants, it won’t stop Lawler from going down for the five count. Rick Rude then tells Jake Roberts that he might just be underestimating the Ravishing One’s intelligence. Monday night, it will be the Snake who gets defanged!
Jimmy Hart then promotes the debut of Adrian Adonis this Monday night. Lance announces that Adonis may have trouble with his scheduled opponent – Rufus R. “Freight Train” Jones! Hart cackles and says that Jones is so stupid that he might just knock himself out while climbing the ring steps.
MATCH: JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER vs. PHIL HICKERSON:
The King scores the win via pinfall at 10:55 with the flying fist drop off the second rope… Hickerson has had many hellacious matches with Lawler over the years, and that continues tonight. Jake “The Snake” Roberts makes his way out and watches the match. Lance offers him a chance to do commentary, but The Snake just waves him off. Hickerson eventually hits the ropes for a knee drop, but Jake reaches in to trip him behind the referee’s back. Hickerson gets up and reaches out for Jake, but Lawler lands a knee to the back, slams him and uses the flying fist to score the win.
Lance Russell and Dave Brown question Jake “The Snake” Roberts getting involved in the match, but talk soon turns to Sir Oliver Humperdink. They introduce a VTR of Humperdink. We see the manager walking the streets in Londonderry, Northern Ireland – the hot spot of the Troubles. He shows us the rough streets and walks into a local pub. There we see one man taking several others in a massive bar fight.
The red-headed man beats down every other man in the bar – even men much bigger than he is. This man busts a barchair over a big, bald guy’s back and then turns and glares at the camera. Sir Oliver Humperdink introduces his latest – the most dangerous man in wrestling, The Belfast Bruiser Fit Finlay! Finlay shouts that he will destroy each and every piece of Southern trash put in his way.
