Vader battles Butch Reed, who the announce team introduce as a newcomer(despite the fact that he has been competing in WCW under a mask as Doom for quite a while). This match looks like something from the glory days of Mid South until the Horsemen hit the ring and, along with Reed, deliver a vicious beatdown to Vader! Sting, Jake Roberts, and Ricky Steamboat hit the ring with chairs in hand to make the save. Once again, Vader refuses to shake hands with the faces. Zybysko calls him “a man without a country”.
In a backstage segment, Bam Bam Bigelow visits Vader in his dressing room. Bam Bam reminds Vader how their tag team dominated Japan. Bam Bam says that nobody, not even Vader can handle the Four Horsemen on his own and offers to re-form their team. The two monsters shake hands, but it seems very tenative.
Team Extreme team up with their mentor, Roddy Piper to beat the Jynx Brothers & Cowboy Bob Orton. Tommy Dreamer pins Wildo Jynx after he and Scott Riggs hit a double DDT on the maksed man. During the match, the announce team say that Roddy will bring Piper’s Pit to WCW, for the first time ever, here tonight!
Public Enemy gets disqualified against Duane Gill & Bart Sawyer in their WCW debut as the bring a table into the ring and put Sawyer through it! Afterwards, they attempt to do the same to Gill, but Team Extreme hits the ring and they brawl all over Center Stage!
Team Extreme talks to Mean Gene afterwards. Tommy and Scotty say that they know that Public Enemy comes from the hood, but that doesn’t intimidate them! If they wanna use tables, chairs, or any other weapon, Team Extreme is down with it!
Ric Flair & Arn Anderson (w/Ole Anderson) defeat Horace Boulder & Steve Blackman as Double A pins Boulder after a spinebuster.
Next, Piper’s Pit comes to WCW!!! Piper says that he’s gonna start at the top! The main man in World Championship Wrestling, the Commissioner….NICK BOCKWINKEL!!! Piper puts over Nick as one of the all time greats and says he understands the Commissioner has some big announcements! Bockwinkel calls out the Horsemen because much of what he has to say involves them! The Horsemen come out to the Pit! Bockwinkel starts out by saying that next week, here on WCW Saturday Night, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson have been challenged to a match against Vader & Bam Bam Bigelow! Flair says that he’s already proven that he can beat Vader! With Double A on his side, Bigelow won’t make much difference! Challenge accepted! Next, the Commissioner announces that WCW’s next PPV will be Fall Brawl, live from the Charlotte Coliseum, on September 29th! The Horsemen will be involved in the Main Event, the return of WAR GAMES!!! Bockwinkel introduces their opponents: STING! THE STEINER BROTHERS! RICKY “THE DRAGON” STEAMBOAT! JAKE “THE SNAKE” ROBERTS!
Ole Anderson protests the Horsemen being in a 5 against 4 handicap match! Bockwinkel says there will be no handicap match-since Ole enjoys getting physically involved in matches. He’ll be a participant in WAR GAMES!!! Ole is visibly upset by this development!
Bockwinkel quickly runs through the rules for War Games. This year, there will be one change from previous War Games matches: Instead of a coin flip determining which teams gets the one man advantage, there will be a “status match” between a representative of each team. The winner earns the advantage for his team! Sting says that his team voted that Ricky Steamboat would be their representative in the match! Arn Anderson says he will represent the Horsemen if Steamboat has the guts to put up “my TV Title”. Steamboat agrees!
Piper tells the fans they can’t afford to miss Fall Brawl!
Rick Rude (w/Sherri Martel ) defeats El Lobo with the neckbreaker. In a postmatch interview, Rude claims that Jake Roberts is avoiding giving him a rematch for the US Title. He says Jake even signed up for War games to avoid him!
Jake Roberts, the new US Champion, pins Squire David Taylor in a very competitive match via pinfall after the DDT.
Ricky Steamboat makes a successful defense of his WCW TV Title against Moondog Spot. He pins the wildman with a high cross body. Arn Anderson shows up at ringside, making the belt around the waist and cutthroat gestures.
Our next match is a six man tag. Ahmed Johnson, Billy Jack Haynes, and Tazmaniac enter first. Their opponents, Wrath and the Faces of Fear enter last. The theme from “the Omen” plays and a graphic that reads CARNIVAL OF SOULS appears on the video wall. The heels take the win as Tazmaniac turns on his partners and costs them the match. Afterwards, Mean Gene interviews the winners and Taz makes some rather cryptic comment about hearing the voice of the master and joining the carnival.

Harlem Heat defeats Devon Storm & Ingus Jynx. In a post match interview, Booker T & Stevie Ray say that they are not in a very good mood. They had been #2 contenders for the US Tag belts when the Faces of Fear had them and had been promised a title shot at Fall Brawl, but the Faces of Fear went and lost the titles to Hawk & Animal! Paul Ellering comes out and says that he and the Warriors have been very impressed with Harlem Heat and will be happy to five them a shot at the belts at Fall Brawl! After Ellering leaves, Booker and Stevie admit that they have always respected the Road Warriors, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t do their best to kick their tails and kick their titles!
Lex Lugar(w/Ole Anderson) defeats a very game Jim Brunzell with a Torture Rack submission. Jess points out that Brunzell is a tough veteran and that the “Total Package” beat him convincingly!
In a competitive match, Sid Vicious(w/Ole Anderson) defeats John Kronus with a cobra clutch. Zybysko points that War games at Fall Brawl must end with a submission or surrender and both Horsemen we have seen this week have used submission holds.
The Horsemen’s opponents at Fall Brawl-Sting, Ricky Steamboat, Jake Roberts, & the Steiner Brothers beat Lord Zoltan, Duane Gill, Horace Boulder, & the Moondogs. Sting forces Gill to submit to the Scorpion Deathlock.
Roddy Piper welcomes Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, & Ole Anderson to Piper’s Pit. Roddy says that he thinks the Horsemen might have bitten off more than they can chew: Today, Flair & Anderson take on Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow, then War Games on 9/29 at Fall Brawl! Ole says that Piper sounds like one of these ignorant fans! The Horsemen will take care of business tonight and in the War Games! Flair and Anderson are equally as confident! Piper warns them that the guys they are dealing with aren’t a bunch of chumps!
Flair and Anderson, accompanied by Ole, take on Vader & Bam Bam Bigelow. Vader and Bam Bam are an awesome team and the Horsemen are on the defensive from the opening bell. Only almost constant interference from Ole keep Ric and Arn in the match. Finally, Vader and Bigelow get sick of Ole’s rulebreaking! Vader and bam bam leave the ring, put Ole on their shoulders and drive him headfirst into the ring post several times! Then, they drop Ole onto the floor like a bad habit! Ric and Arn leave the ring to check on Ole. They stay too long and get counted out! Zybysko says Ole probably has a concussion and damage to his neck! The ref raises the hands of Bigelow and Vader as the medical crew hauls Ole off on a gurney!
The Headbangers defeat Bart Sawyer & the Blue Yankee. The announce team, especially Jesse, seems very impressed by this young tag team.
Rob Van Dam scores an impressive win over Wyldo Jynx. Tony says that tonight, in Australia, that a tournament will be held for the WCW World Cruiserweight Title(weight limit of 230 pounds). All three announcers agree that Rob is one of the best in the world in that weight range.
Public Enemy and Team Extreme have a wild brawl that goes to a double DQ! Several officials attempt to break up a post-match brawl, but most of them get decked by the two hotheaded young tag teams! Team Extreme’s mentor, Roddy Piper finally gets his guys to return to the locker room. Jesse says we probably ain’t seen the last of this!
Wrath (w/Tazmaniac) takes on Ahmed Johnson. During intros, Gary Capetta Introduces Wrath and Taz as being from ”the Carnival of Souls”. Before the match starts, Ahmed gets on the mic and asks Taz for an explanation for turning on Johnson and Billy Jack Haynes last week. Taz says, “You wouldn’t understand!” Regardless, in a real banger, Wrath and Ahmed fight to a double countout.

The program begins with a VTR of Ole Anderson lying in a hospital bed with Arn by his bedside. Arn says that Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow gave Ole a concussion and two compressed vertebrae in his neck last week. Ole says that there’s no way that he can compete in War Games and asks Arn to get Nick Bockwinkel on the phone so they can get a new partner for the Horsemen. Sid Vicious and Lex Lugar come in and attempt to cheer Ole up, but only make him grouchier! Then, Ric Flair comes in with a nurse, who looks more like a stripper in a nurse costume! Flair tells Ole not to worry about anything. The Horsemen have arranged for him to have the best medical care that money can buy! Vader, Bigelow, Sting, Steamboat, the Steiners, and the Snake...those are the guys who should worry because the Horsemen will make them pay!
The Horsemen take on newcomer Ken Shamrock, Steve Blackman, Soulman Alex G, and Tony Stetson in an 8 man tag. Shamrock and Blackman give the Horsemen a run for their money, but when Alex G tags in, the heels take over! In the end, Flair forces Tony Stetson to submit to the figure four.
Sting scores a convincing win over Max Thrasher.
Harlem Heat destroys the Jynx Brothers.
The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering are the guests in Piper’s Pit. The Legion of Doom announces that they have accepted the challenge of Stevie Ray and Booker T for Fall Brawl! Animal says that Harlem Heat came up on the streets like the Warriors did and that they remind the Warriors of themselves. Someday, they will be champions, but not at Fall Brawl! Piper asks Ellering about possible overconfidence. Paul says they are always ready for anything or anybody! Hawk says they snack on danger and dine on death and dead me don’t make money! OH, WHAT A RUSH!!!
Tazmaniac takes on Keith Cole. Cole does his best, but falls victim to the Tazmission. Taz refuses to break the hold after the bell! Rob Van Dam runs in, pries Taz off of Cole and proceeds to kick Tazmaniac out of the ring! RVD does an interview with Mean Gene and says he doesn’t understand what is going on with Taz! It’s like he’s possessed by an evil spirit or something! RVD says he’d be happy to meet his former friend in the ring and perform an excorcism!
Rob Van Dam pins Johnny Hotbody after a split legged moonsault. During the match, Tony mentions that a Japanese wrestler named Akira won the WCW Cruiserweight Title tournament this past week.
A music video showing in ring highlights of Akira in action is shown. Akira will defend his title against a worthy contender at Fall Brawl, only on PPV, September 9, originating from Charlotte, NC!
Jake “the Snake” Roberts defends his US Title against Nailz. Nailz is a rugged opponent and the match is made even more difficult because Rick Rude and Sherri Martel are at ringside, providing a distraction. Even though he takes a bunch of punishment, Roberts digs down deep and manages to hit the DDT and get an impressive victory this week.
Public Enemy defeats Chaz Taylor & Calvin Knapp. After the win, they attempt to put Chaz through a table, but Team Extreme runs in to break it up. Tony announces that Public Enemy will take on Team Extreme at Fall Brawl.
Wrath pins Devon Storm, but Storm made it interesting for a bit with his aerial tactics.
Ahmed Johnson takes on Abdullah the Butcher(w/Wrath). Ahmed is on the verge of victory when Wrath and Tazmaniac jump in and deliver a beatdown to Johnson! Rob Van Dam runs in with a chair to make the save!
In a tuneup for War Games, Ricky Steamboat and the Steiner Brothers defeat Duane Gill, Dusty Wolfe, & George South. Scott gets the pin after the Steiner Bulldog.

In a wild one, Vader & Bam Bam Bigelow defeat the Moondogs. In a prematch interview, they say Ole Anderson learned his lesson and anybody else who gets into the ring with them will l;earn the same lesson! The Headbangers come out and say they are tired of being overlooked on the big PPVS and challenge Vader and Bigelow at Fall Brawl. Vader says they get an A for guts, but they’ve flunked common sense! Bam Bam his hobby is beating up punks! We’ll see you two geeks at Fall Brawl!
Ravishing Rick Rude(w/Sherri Martel) destroys Soulman Alex G. Then, “the Ravishing One” and Sensational Sherri head over to Piper’s Pit to be Roddy’s guest. Piper taunts Rude and Sherri about losing the US Title to Jake Roberts. Rude says the Snake hasn’t seen the last of Rick Rude! Since Ole is injured, Rude demands to be chosen to take his spot in War Games so he can get his hands on Rude!Piper says the last time Rude “got his hands on Roberts”, Jake got his hands on the US Title. Rude tells Roddy that he’s better stop gloating about that. Roddy says that Rude losing the belt sorta bugged him because Roddy held that belt back in 1983 and knew if he got a shot at Rude, he could win it back! Rude challenges Roddy to a match here on TV next week! Roddy says “you’re on!”
Team Extreme (w/ Roddy Piper) defeats Dr. X & Max Thrasher. In a postmatch interview, Roddy says that Tommy Dreamer & Scotty Riggs here on ready to show Public Enemy what extreme is all about at Fall Brawl!
Public Enemy are disqualified against Chaz Taylor & Barry Gill for brining a table into the ring and putting Chaz through it! Team Extreme come out and brawl with Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge!
Before the next match, Tazmaniac comes to the announce table and tells Tony to keep the line open on the phone on the table because the Master is calling in!
Tazmaniac, Abdullah the Butcher, & the Faces of Fear (w/Wrath) beat George South, Tony Stetson, Dusty Wolfe, & Keith Cole when Abdullah pins Wolfe after the Sudanese Meat Cleaver. As advertised, the Master does call in and talks to Tony and the guys. His voice is disguised (think Black Scorpion/Shockmaster) and he speaks in riddles. He ends the call he says he shall be revealed before the “dawn of Smahain”.
In a wild one, Rob Van Dam & Ahmed Johnson beat Wrath & Nailz by DQ when Tazmaniac comes to ringside, pulls RVD off the apron and locks him in the Tazmission. Thankfully, Ahmed is able to get a chair and run the heels off!

Wrath (w/Tazmaniac) takes on Ahmed Johnson. During intros, Gary Capetta Introduces Wrath and Taz as being from ”the Carnival of Souls”. Before the match starts, Ahmed gets on the mic and asks Taz for an explanation for turning on Johnson and Billy Jack Haynes last week. Taz says, “You wouldn’t understand!” Regardless, in a real banger, Wrath and Ahmed fight to a double countout.

The program begins with a VTR of Ole Anderson lying in a hospital bed with Arn by his bedside. Arn says that Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow gave Ole a concussion and two compressed vertebrae in his neck last week. Ole says that there’s no way that he can compete in War Games and asks Arn to get Nick Bockwinkel on the phone so they can get a new partner for the Horsemen. Sid Vicious and Lex Lugar come in and attempt to cheer Ole up, but only make him grouchier! Then, Ric Flair comes in with a nurse, who looks more like a stripper in a nurse costume! Flair tells Ole not to worry about anything. The Horsemen have arranged for him to have the best medical care that money can buy! Vader, Bigelow, Sting, Steamboat, the Steiners, and the Snake...those are the guys who should worry because the Horsemen will make them pay!
The Horsemen take on newcomer Ken Shamrock, Steve Blackman, Soulman Alex G, and Tony Stetson in an 8 man tag. Shamrock and Blackman give the Horsemen a run for their money, but when Alex G tags in, the heels take over! In the end, Flair forces Tony Stetson to submit to the figure four.
Sting scores a convincing win over Max Thrasher.
Harlem Heat destroys the Jynx Brothers.
The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering are the guests in Piper’s Pit. The Legion of Doom announces that they have accepted the challenge of Stevie Ray and Booker T for Fall Brawl! Animal says that Harlem Heat came up on the streets like the Warriors did and that they remind the Warriors of themselves. Someday, they will be champions, but not at Fall Brawl! Piper asks Ellering about possible overconfidence. Paul says they are always ready for anything or anybody! Hawk says they snack on danger and dine on death and dead me don’t make money! OH, WHAT A RUSH!!!
Tazmaniac takes on Keith Cole. Cole does his best, but falls victim to the Tazmission. Taz refuses to break the hold after the bell! Rob Van Dam runs in, pries Taz off of Cole and proceeds to kick Tazmaniac out of the ring! RVD does an interview with Mean Gene and says he doesn’t understand what is going on with Taz! It’s like he’s possessed by an evil spirit or something! RVD says he’d be happy to meet his former friend in the ring and perform an excorcism!
Rob Van Dam pins Johnny Hotbody after a split legged moonsault. During the match, Tony mentions that a Japanese wrestler named Akira won the WCW Cruiserweight Title tournament this past week.
A music video showing in ring highlights of Akira in action is shown. Akira will defend his title against a worthy contender at Fall Brawl, only on PPV, September 9, originating from Charlotte, NC!
Jake “the Snake” Roberts defends his US Title against Nailz. Nailz is a rugged opponent and the match is made even more difficult because Rick Rude and Sherri Martel are at ringside, providing a distraction. Even though he takes a bunch of punishment, Roberts digs down deep and manages to hit the DDT and get an impressive victory this week.
Public Enemy defeats Chaz Taylor & Calvin Knapp. After the win, they attempt to put Chaz through a table, but Team Extreme runs in to break it up. Tony announces that Public Enemy will take on Team Extreme at Fall Brawl.
Wrath pins Devon Storm, but Storm made it interesting for a bit with his aerial tactics.
Ahmed Johnson takes on Abdullah the Butcher(w/Wrath). Ahmed is on the verge of victory when Wrath and Tazmaniac jump in and deliver a beatdown to Johnson! Rob Van Dam runs in with a chair to make the save!
In a tuneup for War Games, Ricky Steamboat and the Steiner Brothers defeat Duane Gill, Dusty Wolfe, & George South. Scott gets the pin after the Steiner Bulldog.

Fit Finley defeat Wildo Jynx(w/Ingus Jynx) despite a bunch of distraction and interference from ingus. Both Jynx brothers are unconscious after the match. Zybysko and Ventura actually agree for once-Finaly will be a tough opponent for anybody!
In a wild one, Vader & Bam Bam Bigelow defeat the Moondogs. In a prematch interview, they say Ole Anderson learned his lesson and anybody else who gets into the ring with them will l;earn the same lesson! The Headbangers come out and say they are tired of being overlooked on the big PPVS and challenge Vader and Bigelow at Fall Brawl. Vader says they get an A for guts, but they’ve flunked common sense! Bam Bam his hobby is beating up punks! We’ll see you two geeks at Fall Brawl!
Ravishing Rick Rude(w/Sherri Martel) destroys Soulman Alex G. Then, “the Ravishing One” and Sensational Sherri head over to Piper’s Pit to be Roddy’s guest. Piper taunts Rude and Sherri about losing the US Title to Jake Roberts. Rude says the Snake hasn’t seen the last of Rick Rude! Since Ole is injured, Rude demands to be chosen to take his spot in War Games so he can get his hands on Rude!Piper says the last time Rude “got his hands on Roberts”, Jake got his hands on the US Title. Rude tells Roddy that he’s better stop gloating about that. Roddy says that Rude losing the belt sorta bugged him because Roddy held that belt back in 1983 and knew if he got a shot at Rude, he could win it back! Rude challenges Roddy to a match here on TV next week! Roddy says “you’re on!”
Team Extreme (w/ Roddy Piper) defeats Dr. X & Max Thrasher. In a postmatch interview, Roddy says that Tommy Dreamer & Scotty Riggs here on ready to show Public Enemy what extreme is all about at Fall Brawl!
Public Enemy are disqualified against Chaz Taylor & Barry Gill for brining a table into the ring and putting Chaz through it! Team Extreme come out and brawl with Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge!
Before the next match, Tazmaniac comes to the announce table and tells Tony to keep the line open on the phone on the table because the Master is calling in!
Tazmaniac, Abdullah the Butcher, & the Faces of Fear (w/Wrath) beat George South, Tony Stetson, Dusty Wolfe, & Keith Cole when Abdullah pins Wolfe after the Sudanese Meat Cleaver. As advertised, the Master does call in and talks to Tony and the guys. His voice is disguised (think Black Scorpion/Shockmaster) and he speaks in riddles. He ends the call he says he shall be revealed before the “dawn of Smahain”.
In a wild one, Rob Van Dam & Ahmed Johnson beat Wrath & Nailz by DQ when Tazmaniac comes to ringside, pulls RVD off the apron and locks him in the Tazmission. Thankfully, Ahmed is able to get a chair and run the heels off!
Jake Roberts successfully defends his US Title by pinning Lobo Lee after a DDT. For the second week in a row, a tough match is made even more difficult by Rick Rude and Sherri Martel’s presence at ringside, but, this week, Roddy Piper shows up and runs them off!
World Tag Team Champions Rick & Scott Steiner defeat Johnny Hotbody & Butch Reed in non-title action.
