THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE PRESENTS
TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING!
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1996
BROADCAST ACROSS CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES ON NBC
ALL THE MATCHES TAPED AT THE ROY L. PATRICK GYM IN BURLINGTON, VT
CHRIS CRUISE opens the show alone in the studio, and says that Raymond Rougeau won’t be with him this week, as he was the victim of a brutal attack outside the building last week, at the hands of NWA World Champ Jeff Jarrett and NWA TV Champ Chris Candido.
CRUISE then welcomes his new co-host this week, LEE MARSHALL.
MARSHALL says he’s happy to be here with Cruise, though he wishes it was under different circumstances, then he wishes Ray Rougeau a speedy recovery.
This week, the NWA has brought Hayabusa and the Great Sasuke, two of the top Jr. Heavyweight wrestlers from Japan, to the US and they’ll go one on one in our opening match . . . Mortis meets the American Ace . . . Cowboy Rick Casey will go one on one with one-half of the NWA Tag Team Champs, “Gigalo” Jimmy Del Ray . . . and in the main event, Jacques Rougeau will be looking to avenge his brother’s injury when he takes on NWA TV Champ Chris Candido for the title!
We see a video of AMERICAN ACE talking with children at a community center. He talks to them about the importance of staying in school and saying no to drugs. One of the children asks Ace about “Made in the USA” Madusa Miceli being abducted by Unabomb last week, and Ace says that he’s going to get her back!
CRUISE and MARSHALL send us to pre-recorded comments from HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN, MORTIS and UNABOMB. They’re in a dark room somewhere in the basement. They’ve got MADUSA MICELI with them, but she’s blindfolded, with her hands tied behind her back.
WHIPPLEMAN says that Madusa belongs to them now, the Demons of Destruction have claimed her soul, and by the time they’re done, she’ll only be able to do their bidding!
Harvey then says that Unabomb, Mortis and King Kong Bundy will crush American Ace, the Ultimate Warrior and Earthquake next week in the Chamber of Horrors match on the special Halloween edition of NWA-TNA!

MATCH #1:
HAYABUSA beats GREAT SASUKE. These two throw caution to the wind and wow the audience by flying all over the place, inside and outside the ring! In the end, Hayabusa gets the pinfall after connecting with the Phoenix Splash. The two men shake hands after the match.
The vignette from last week airs again, where NWA Champ JEFF JARRETT and NWA TV Champ CHRIS CANDIDO are in Montreal, standing beside a statue of Jacques and Ray Rougeau’s uncle, Johnny Rougeau.
JARRETT then motions to someone off camera, and we see a large dumptruck back up to the statue. The back end lifts up and opens . . . and trash pours out, all over the statue!
CANDIDO says that’s better, since Johnny, and the entire Rougeau family, are trash!
STAN LANE is standing in front of an NWA banner, and he’s joined by NWA World Champion JEFF JARRETT and NWA TV Champion CHRIS CANDIDO. They have a good laugh about what they did to the statue of Johnny Rougeau.
CANDIDO says that they ran one Rougeau out of the NWA already, and Jacques will be next!
JARRETT talks about his Best 2 out of 3 Falls match with Steve Williams on next week’s Halloween special, and says he will do the same thing to Williams that he did to Terry Funk, and that will be the last we see of Steve Williams!
CHRIS CRUISE and LEE MARSHALL are joined in the studio by STEVE WILLIAMS. Williams talks about how Jarrett and Candido have been running roughshod in the NWA. First they injured his friend Terry Funk, then they disrespected the Rougeau family name, and now they’ve injured Ray Rougeau, who’s not even an active wrestler anymore!
Williams says that someone has got to put a stop to this, and he’s just the guy to do it! He says that he’ll take Jarrett’s NWA World title next week on TV, and then he’ll run Jarrett and Candido right out of the NWA.
Williams says that he’ll have a big surprise for his match with Jarrett next week. When Cruise and Marshall try to get him to elaborate, Williams says that they’ll see next week.

MATCH #2:
MORTIS (w/ Harvey Whippleman) beats AMERICAN ACE. American Ace holds his own against the monster Mortis, and late in the match, Ace has the match well in hand.
However, UNABOMB makes his way down the ramp to the ring . . . and he’s got MADUSA MICELI with him! Madusa has her hands tied, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to kick Unabomb, who just laughs at her.
This gets the attention of American Ace. He tells Unabomb to let Madusa go, but while that’s going on, Mortis hits a low blow, then schoolboys Ace. Ace is caught completely off-guard, and can’t kick out. Mortis has pinned American Ace!
Ace isn’t concerned about the loss, he jumps out of the ring and runs down the ramp after Unabomb and Madusa, but they’re already through the curtain and out of sight.
Back in the studio, CRUISE and MARSHALL hype next week’s show, a special Halloween edition of NWA Total Non-stop Action! On that show, Steve Williams challenges Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World title. We’ll also see Jushin Liger, one of the greatest Jr. Heavyweight wrestlers in the history of the sport, face the Great Sasuke.
The main event will feature the CHAMBER OF HORRORS match, as the Ultimate Warrior, American Ace and Earthquake face the trio of Mortis, Unabomb and King Kong Bundy! The only way to win the Chamber of Horrors is to put a member of the opposing team into the Chair of Torture, that will be lowered into the ring during the match, and pull the lever on the cage to activate the chair!
VS.
MATCH #3:
COWBOY RICK CASEY (w/ Lance Cassidy) beats “GIGALO” JIMMY DEL RAY (w/ Tom Prichard) via DISQUALIFICATION. Casey and Del Ray put on a fast-paced, exciting match for the fans. Late in the match, Casey goes to the top rope and waits for Del Ray to get to his feet. Before Jimmy gets up, Tom Prichard jumps up on the apron, grabs Casey by the trunks and pulls him off the turnbuckle, sending the cowboy crashing to the floor!
Referee John Finnegan sees this, and calls for the bell, awarding the match to Casey by DQ.
With Casey on the floor, Prichard puts the boots to him, then scoops him up, and drives Casey shoulder-first into the ringpost. As Prichard goes to ram Casey’s shoulder into the ringpost again, Lance Cassidy puts a stop to it, and starts brawling with Prichard. What Cassidy doesn’t see, though, is Jimmy Del Ray leave the ring, then drag Casey over to the guardrail, and repeatedly wrench Casey’s arm over the guardrail. Del Ray then picks him up and delivers a shoulderbreaker!
Several wrestlers arrive on the scene, and they stop Del Ray from doing any more damage to Rick Casey. Medical personnel come out and Casey is helped to the back.
We see a vignette, showing LORD NORMAN SMILEY and THE MAESTRO in a lavishly-decorated room. Smiley is drinking a cup of tea while the Maestro sits a nearby piano. JEEVES is in the background, waiting for his next order from Smiley.
SMILEY says that he’s noticed the NWA fans booing him and Maestro, and says that they’re not sophisticated like him and Maestro, they’re not cultured enough to realize the obvious greatness that is Norman Smiley and the Maestro. He compares the NWA fans to the lowly peasants that would work for his family.
MAESTRO agrees, and says that the other wrestlers in the NWA all come out to rock music, and it makes him sick, that’s not music. Mozart’s Concerto No. 24, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, now THAT’S music, but the NWA fans aren’t smart enough to understand that.
SMILEY agrees as he sips his tea as the video ends.
We go to pre-recorded comments from JEAN-PIERRE LAFITTE. LaFitte is hanging out in a dimly-lit room, looking through a pile of coins and assorted treasure that’s been dumped on the table in front of him. He says that this is the booty that he and his crew brought back from their most recent pillaging. He then says that he’s on his way to the NWA, and anyone who gets is in his way will end up walking the plank!

MATCH #4
NWA WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP:
CHRIS CANDIDO (Champ) (w/ Capt. Lou Albano) battles JACQUES ROUGEAU to a DRAW when TV time runs out. The match lasts about 8 minutes before the bell rings and Gary Michael Cappetta informs us that time has run out.
Rougeau attacks Candido after the bell, and the two men brawl around the ring, then out onto the ramp, and eventually down the ramp and out of sight.
Back in the studio, Chris Cruise and Lee Marshall wrap up the show and hype next week’s special Halloween show, where we’ll see the Ultimate Warrior, American Ace and Earthquake face Mortis, Unabomb and King Kong Bundy in a Chamber of Horrors match!
