QUICK RESULTS
1. Team Extreme(w/Roddy Piper) fought the Bruise Brothers to a double countout in 6:23.
2. Ahmed Johnson & Tazmaniac defeated Lobo Lee & Doom(w/Colonel Robert Parker) in 5:23 as Johnson pinned Lee after a Pearl River Plunge.
3. In his WCW debut, Wrath (w/Luna Vachon) defeated Barry Houston & Duane Gill in a handicap match as he pinned Gill after a pump handle slam in 2:01. Afterwards, Luna said that this is just the beginning and she had a big surprise for everybody later in the show!
4. World TV Champion went to a 20 minute draw with Rob Van Dam. This was a show stealer and match of the year candidate that began with a handshake and ended with a hug and a standing ovation from the sellout crowd.
5. Sting & the Steiner Brothers defeated Horsemen LeX Lugar, Sid Vicious, & Arn Anderson (w/Ole Anderson) in 7:47. Sting pinned Lugar with a schoolboy rollup as the Horsemen were distracted when Vader came to ringside. Flair and the rest of the Horsemen did a heated interview where Flair said that there was no way Vader was taking the title here tonight!
6. The Road Warriors (w/ Paul Ellering) defeated the Faces of Fear (w/Colonel Robert Parker) to win the US tag Team Title in 8:01. Parker’s interference backfired and that lead to Hawk pinning the Barbarian. In a post match interview, Ellering, Hawk & Animal challenged World Tag Team Champions The Steiners and said they would take on any and all challengers for the US belts!
7. We saw a VTR featuring Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge, the Public Enemy! They said that all of the major organizations have avoided bringing them in for years! That’s because they are street fighters and they are the most violent team in wrestling! They claim that the Road Warriors and Harlem Heat came up on the mean streets, but as soon as they had a little success, they abandoned their roots! Public Enemy still live in the HOOD! Rocco and Johnny see drive buys every day and it doesn’t bother them at all now! When Public Enemy gets to WCW, they are gonna win titles and hurt people real bad!
8. Abdullah the Butcher (w/Luna Vachon) fights Bam Bam Bigelow to a double DQ in 4:21. There isn’t much wrestling involved as the two big men have a fight!
9. Billy Jack Haynes defeats Nailz(w/Colonel Robert Parker) in a Prison Yard Match(dog collar, come as you are, last man standing hybrid) in 8:11 when Nailz passes out in Billy Jack’s full nelson.
10. Jake “the Snake” Roberts pins Ravishing Rick Rude(w/Sherri Martel) for the US Title in 10:45. The Snake pins Rude after giving him a DDT on a chair that Sherri slid into the ring.
11. World Champion Ric Flair(w/Ole Anderson) pins Vader in 12:45. The end comes when Ole distracts the ref as Vader is attempting to powerbomb the champ. Arn Anderson hits the ring with a tire tool and bashes Vader from behind to set up the pin. After the pin, Vader gets to his feet, but the other Horsemen run in and beat him down! Almost every baby face on the card run in for the save, but when they help Vader to his feet, he pushes them all away and leaves the ring alone and proud, on his own power!
Tony informs us that our next big spectacular will be Fall Brawl, originating from the Charlotte Coliseum on September 29th, available exclusively on PPV!
