Clash of the Champions
7/1/1994
Airing live on TBS at 8:05 PM
From The Fairgrounds Arena in Nashville, TN
Announcers: Tony Schiavone, Jesse Ventura, & Larry Zybysko
Interviewer: Gene Okerlund
Referees: Mickey Jay, Randy Anderson, & Nick Patrick
The show begins with Gene Okerlund interviewing WCW newcomer Billy Jack Haynes. Billy tells Gene that he had settled down in Oregon and had pretty much retired. Then, one night, he was watching WCW and he saw a familiar face. Billy said that when he was just getting started up in Portland, he befriended a young man, a street kid who reminded Billy of himself at a younger age. Billy trained the youngster to wrestle and helped him with bodybuilding tips. The kid got involved with the wrong crowd and stopped listening to Billy. Next thing Billy heard, the kid had been convicted of several crimes, some of which were against people Billy cared about and had been sent to prison. The young man is here in WCW: they call him NAILZ now! Nailz, you had better watch out! I’ve never forgotten how you turned your back on me! I’m here to take care of you!
Lobo Lee, Doom, & Nailz (w/Col. Robert Parker) defeated Rob Van Dam, Steve Blackman, & Chris Walker in 4:22 when Nailz forced Walker to submit to a full nelson. After the bout, the heels continued to beat on the faces until Billy Jack ran in! Haynes, Blackman, and RVD cleaned house and were standing tall at the end of the altercation.
In a wild one, Roddy Piper & Scotty Riggs knocked off the Headbangers in 8:11 as Piper pinned Mosh with a bulldog.

After Bam Bam Bigelow eliminated Sid Vicious from the Battle Royal, you just know the match between them will be a slugfest! These two brutes fight all over the building before Mickey Jay counts them both out! Afterwards, Lugar and Ole help Sid beat Bigelow down, but the Steiners make the save!
The next match is a four corners match with the winning team receiving a US Tag Title match at the bash. The four teams competing are The Bluebloods, the Eliminators, Harlem Heat, and the Bruise Brothers!
The Eliminators eliminate the Bluebloods as Kronus pins Squire David Taylor after Total Elimination!

Harlem Heat defeats the Bruise Brothers as Stevie Ray pins Don Harris after Ron accidentally hits his brother with a foreign object.
Harlem Heat will challenge the Faces of Fear at the Bash!
The Road Warriors take on the Nasty Boys (w/Luna Vachon) in an elimination match!
Hawk and Jerry Saggs are both counted out as they brawl on the floor. That makes it one on one between Animal and Brian Knobbs! Knobbs is DQ’d when Luna throws powder in Animal’s eyes! A blinded Animal swings wildly! Luna gets into the ring for some reason and one of Animal’s wild punches knocks her down! Saggs runs back out and the enraged Nasty Boys beat the blinded Animal down until Hawk hits the ring, swinging a baseball bat!
Ravishing Rick Rude(w/Sherri Martel) defends his US Title against the awesome Ahmed Johnson. Ahmed dominates most of the match. There is a collision where referee Nick Patrick gets knocked out of the ring. With no ref, Sherri enters the ring to interfere. Johnson inadvertently flattens Sherri with a shoulder block (mean for Rude)! Ahmed is obviously upset by this and is checking on Sherri. Rude takes full advantage of the situation and rolls Ahmed up just as the ref re-enters the ring! Rude gets the three count and retains his belt!
In a show stealer, Ricky Steamboat defends his World TV Championship against Lord Steven Regal. After a 4 * match, Steamboat hits the high cross body for the 1-2-3! The fans give the match a standing ovation!
IN a hard hitting battle, Rick & Scott Steiner successfully defend the WCW World Tag Titles against the Faces of Fear (w/Colonel Robert Parker)as Scott pins The Barbarian after he and Rick execute the Steiner Bulldog.
In the Main Event, Sting & the Great Muta defeat Ric Flair & Arn Anderson (w/JJ Dillon)as Sting forces Arn to submit to the Scorpion Deathlock. Flair tried to make the save, but Muta sprayed the green mist into Flair’s eyes! Everybody worked their tails off in this one!
