In our opener, Lord Steven Regal defeats the Dixie Thunderbolt. During the match, Tony announces that Ricky Steamboat will defend the World TV Title against regal at the Clash of the Champions. Steamboat does an interview afterwards. Regal gets in his face, calls him a “fish bearing islander”, among other insults and they have a pull apart!
Sting defeats the Super Assassain. After the match, the Horsemen confront Sting and demand to know who his partner will be at the Clash! The Steiners, Jake Roberts, and Ricky Steamboat come out and stand by Sting. Sting says all of these men already have scheduled matches, so it won’t be any of them! Sting says that he’ll have a video of his partner next week!
Lex Lugar (w/Ole Anderson) defeats George South. Ole says Not only will Lex beat Jake Roberts at the Clash, they might take Jake’s snake and make a pair of boots out of it!
Sid Vicious (w/Ole Anderson) pins Devon Storm. In a postmatch interview, Sid asks Ole why he doesn’t have a match at the Clash. Ole says to ask the man in charge. They call for Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel! Bockwinkel comes out, says there is one open contract out there if Sid is interested. Sid says he is! Bockwinkel says that the man whose name is on that contract is...BAM BAM BIGELOW!!! Sid says he doesn’t sweat Bam Bam, but his facial expression tells a much different tale!
New US Tag Champions the Faces of Fear (w/Col. Robert Parker) defeat the Jynx Brothers.
In a short, but wild brawl, World Tag Champions Rick & Scott Steiner defeat the Moondogs. Parker scouts the champs at ringside.
Tazmaniac pins Bull Pain, who makes things interesting for a few minutes.
Lobo Lee & Nailz(w/Col. Parker) beat Chaz Taylor& Steve Blackman. After the bout, the heels continue to punish their opponents. Rob Van Dam runs out and cleans house! RVD demands a match with the Stud Stable!
The Headbangers beat Mr. Canada & Senor Loco. In a video insert, Mosh & Thrasher say Roddy Piper and Scotty Riggs are a “has been and a never was” and they’ll run them out of WCW at the Clash!
Roddy Piper & Scotty Riggs beat the Mysterians. The announce team notes that Riggs is wrestling a much more aggressive style and credit Piper’s influence.
The Nasty Boys (w/Luna Vachon) beat Doug Basham & Flash Flanagan. Afterwards, the Nastys say that you’d better watch their elimination match with the Road Warriors at the Clash because that’s the last time you’ll ever see Hawk & Animal!
They show a VTR of the Road Warriors working out in a gym. They admit that maybe they sold the Nasty Boys short at first, but you can see by the sweat on their bodies that Hawk & Animal are training harder than ever for the Elimination match at the Clash! This time, they’ll be ready! Animal also tells Luna that they might have a surprise for her, too!
A music video is shown of Billy Jack Haynes (“Living In The Promise Land” by Willie Nelson) that shows Billy’s life in the wilderness as well as in ring footage of him overpowering opponents. Tony reminds us that Billy will return to WCW at the Clash!

Ric Flair & Arn Anderson (w/Ole Anderson) defeat Doug Basham & Chaz Taylor as Arn pins Taylor after a gourdbuster.
Jake Roberts defeats George South with the DDT. During tha match, Roberts’ opponent at the Clash, Lex Lugar sits at ringside and scouts the Snake.
Sid Vicious (w/ Ole Anderson) pins the Dixie Thunderbolt with a powerbomb. In a postmatch interview, Sid says, at Clash of the Champions, he’ll destroy Bam Bam Bigelow in under two minutes!
Bam Bam Bigelow pins Bull Pain after a slingshot splash. Postmatch, Bam Bam grabs a mic and says if Sid can bet him in under two minutes, don’t wait until we get to Nashville! Come here and let’s get it on! Sid hits the ring and brawls all over the arena with Bigelow!
In a handicap match, Vader(w/Harley Race) demolishes both Jynx Brothers.
A promo is shown for The Great American Bash PPV, originating from Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta on July 28th!
Nick Bockwinkel announces that World Champion Ric Flair’s opoonent at the Bash will be the winner of a Battle Royal at the Clash of the Champions! Nick says that Sid Vicious and Lex Lugar are entered in the Battle Royal. Ole Anderson appears via video screen and Gene asks why two of the Horsemen are in a match where the winner gets a match for the World Title against Flair, also a Horseman! Ole says that in order to get to Flair, a man must go through two of the most awesome individuals in wrestling-Vicious and Lugar! It’s a strategic move that a small minded person like Gene will never understand!
Ricky Steamboat successfully defends his World TV Title via submission to the double chicken wing. Steamboat will defend the belt against Taylor’s countryman, Lord Steven Regal at the Clash!
Ric Flair and Arn Anderson do an interview and demand to see the video of Sting’s partner! The video is action highlights of THE GREAT MUTA! Then, Muta cuts a promo (with English subtitles) Muta says he and Sting have a lot in common and have become friends! Muta says that Sting contacted about problems he had with Anderson and Lugar. Muta says that since Flair won’t defend his title against Muta in Japan, he’ll come to the USA and face Flair and his best friend, Arn Anderson! Flair and Anderson say that Muta doesn’t worry them, but they have a deer in the headlight look!
US Champion Rick Rude (w/ Sherri Martel) pins Keith Cole after a neckbreaker. During the match, Ahmed Johnson, Rude’s challenger at the Clash, shows up at ringside, flexing and posing! Sherri seems awestruck by Ahmed! Rude is irate! He yells at Sherri to snap her out of it! The US Title could be in jeopardy at the Clash!
Scotty Riggs (w/ Roddy Piper) takes on Headbanger Mosh (w/Thrasher). Both seconds get involved and the match ends with all four men brawling and referee Randy Anderson calling it a no contest!

Tommy Dreamer makes his WCW debut and pins Devon Storm after a piledriver in an exciting and very competitive match.
Rob Van Dam & Steve Blackman Take on the Jynx Brothers. RVD pins Wildo after a split legged moonsault. Van Dam and Blackman do an interview. They say that, at the Clash, on Monday night, at 8:05, on TBS, they will team up with their good friend, Chris Walker, to take on three members of the Stud Stable. Colonel Robert Parker comes out and says that Lobo Lee, Nailz, and Doom will make an example of these three punks! Then, his Faces of Fear will win the World tag Team titles and put them in the Stud Stable trophy case beside the US Tag Team Titles!
The Nasty Boys(w/Luna Vachon) demolish Senor Loco and Flash Flanagan as Saggs pins Loco after am elbow drop off the top rope. The Road Warriors do an insert promo where Hawk says Elimination Match is a good name for the upcoming match at the Clash because they plan on eliminating Knobbs, Saggs, and Luna!
In a rare eight man tag match, The Road Warriors and the Steiners take on George South, the Dixie Thunderbolt, & The Mysterians. Hawk pins Mysterian #2 after a Doomsday Device. Jesse predicts that this will be the last time we see these four men for a long time because the Clash will be their Waterloo!
Sting gets a submission victory over Moondog Spike with the Scorpion Deathlock. Zybysko and Schiavone gush over how good the team of Sting and Muta should be. Jesse says Flair and Anderson won’t take a backseat to anybody!
Ahmed Johnson takes on Bull Pain. During the match, Rick Rude comes to ringside and poses, trying to distract his Clash challenger. Sherri comes to the ring also, applauding and swooning over Rude. It has little effect on Ahmed as Johnson wins after hitting the Pearl River Plunge.
In an interview, Rude says that he looks forward to putting Johnson in his place. When Gene questions Sherri about her reaction to Ahmed Johnson last week, she says that she was caught off guard. Gene says she appeared to be smitten. Sherri says she only has eyes for “Ricky”. She has no eyes for a loser like Ahmed. Rude says he’ll send Ahmed back to the hood after the match at the Clash!
The Horsemen do an interview. Sid says that he beat Bam Bam Bigelow all over the arena last week! At the Clash, he’ll finish him off! Lex Lugar says that Jake Roberts made the worst mistake of his life by sticking his nose in Horsemen business! As Ole, Arn, and Flair rant about Sting and Muta, Sting and Muta appear on the video screen! Sting says he’s called in the heavy artillery! Muta (through subtitles) says that he’s ready to help his friend, Sting and he’ll do whatever it takes! Muta spews the green mist, then the red mist, then drags his thumb across his throat! As Flair yells, Sting says they had better be ready for a war at the Clash! OWWWWWWWWWW!
Ricky Steamboat & Jake Roberts defeat Moondog Spot & Lord Steven Regal as Roberts pins Spot after a DDT. After the match, Regal hist the Dragon with a cheap shot and follows that by locking in the Regal Stretch! Roberts and Nick Patrick barely manage to get his Lordship to break the hold!
Sid Vicious, Lex Lugar, and Arn Anderson (w/Ole Anderson & Ric Flair) take on Tazmaniac, Fit Finlay, & Chaz Taylor. Despite a bunch of interference from Ole and Flair, the faces are in the match until Chaz tags in. Chaz takes the finishers of all three Horsemen in the match and submits to Lugar’s torture rack.
In a wild one, Roddy Piper (w/Scotty Riggs) pins Headbanger Thrasher(w/Mosh) after an inside cradle. Piper and Riggs will face the Headbangers at the Clash in a tag match.
Harlem Heat take on the Eliminators. As the match goes on, the Bluebloods and the Bruise Brothers, who will be in a four corners match with these two teams st the Clash to determine who gets a US Tag Team Title shot at the Great American Bash, show up at ringside. The US Tag Team Champions, the Faces of Fear also come to ringside! Before long all of thes eteams end up in the ring in sort of an impromptu battle royal! Referee Mickey Jay has no choice but to call for the bell! Schaivone says that you can’t afford to miss the Clash of the Champions Monday night!
Vader (w/Harley Race) takes on the Super Assassains and pins the masked man after a moonsault. In an interview, Vader says that he will be in the Battle Royal for the World Title match at the Great American Bash! Vader says he has Harley Race in his corner and who knows more about how to beat Ric Flair than Harley? Vader says that he will win the Battle Royal, then he will regain his World Title, which he never really lost!
