GENE: Congratulations are in order for the new WCW Heavyweight Champion of the World, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair!
FLAIR: Sting! You’re just the latest in a long line of men who tried to beat the man and simply couldn’t do it! Dusty Rhodes! Harley Race! Greg Valentine! Wahoo Mc Daniel! Tommy Rich! You’re in good company, young man! You got a taste, but that’s all you’re getting right now! (holds up belt) She’s mine, all mine! WOOOOOOO!
GENE: Ole, this has to be gratifying for you!
OLE: Three months ago, Ric and Arn called me on the phone and said “We’re putting the Horsemen back together! Are you in?” That was music to my ears! I was sick of sitting in an office and hearing Bockwinkel give me orders like he was something other than a washed up ex-wrestler! I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the greatest organization in the history of professional wrestling! Now, we have the World Title back where it belongs! We have all the power in WCW! Bockwinkel and that hippie sidekick of his aren’t gonna push us around! We rule WCW and it will stay that way from here on out!
GENE: Arn Anderson, I hate to be a wet blanket, but you’re leaving Tampa minus the WCW TV Title….
ARN: I gave Steamboat the wrestling lesson of his life, Mean Gene, and you know it! There’s one thing Old Man Bockwinkel does need to work on and that’s the officiating! On that last pin cover, I kicked out before the two count and that idiot referee kept slapping the mat! Steamboat must have landed 20 chops to my throat! I can barely talk! He shoulda been disqualified! Steamboat, you cheated your way to a championship here tonight, but I will be back and I’m coming for my title!
GENE: Lex Lugar, you and Sid Vicious had a very impressive win this evening. What does the future hold for the two of you?
LUGAR: The sky is the limit! Just look at us! Who do you think can measure up to the Total Package or the Man Who Rules the World? (both men flex) With us backing him up, do you seriously think anybody can take the Nature Boy’s belt? With the Enforcer’s experience and toughness and the Rock’s knowledge, the Horsemen stand on top of the highest mountain!
SID: And we ain’t comin’ down! Steinere Brothers, it felt good kick the Eliminators’ tails tonight! We might come after the tag titles next!

Kids, there’s an important lesson you can learn after all this-It’s not whether ya win or lose, it’s how ya play the game! I know that sounds cornball, but it’s true! I fought my guts out and I’m man enough to admit that I came up a tiny bit short! After it was over, I was man enough to say “congratulations” and offer a handshake to the Nature Boy! He won the greatest victory of his legendary career, but you know what they’ll always remember, Naitch? You weren’t man enough to shake my hand!
GENE: That certainly set a poor example for the youngsters, Sting!

GENE: We are back here on the Superstation and, as always, it is an honor to be with the WCW Commissioner, my longtime close personal friend, Nick Bockwinkel!Commissioner, we have a lot to cover right now, but I would be remiss if I didn’t offer you an opportunity to respond to the comments we heard from Ole and Arn Anderson earlier in our broadcast….
BOCKWINKEL: In the interest of maintaining the standards of dignity of the office of Commissioner, I won’t dignify those remarks with a response! As you stated, we have a great deal to discuss and there are so many great things happening in WCW, why delve into negativity?
For starters, tomorrow night, here in Atlanta, at the Omni, we will have the tournament to determine the US Tag Team Champions! There’s a number on the screen to order tickets. This tournament will not be televised, so if you want to see it, you’ll need to be in the Omni! Also, two bonus Main Events have been added!
1. Rick and Scott Steiner defend the World Tag Team Title against the Horsemen combination of Lex Lugar and Sid Vicious!
2. Ric Flair will grant Sting a rematch for the WCW World Title!
GENE: What a night of wrestling action for the great fans in Atlanta! That isn’t all, though!
BOCKWINKEL:
The Clash of the Champions will return to WTBS on July 1st at 8:05 PM! The event will emanate live from the Fairgrounds Arena in Nashville, TN! Rick and Scott Steiner have already contracted to defend the World Tag Team Championship against the winners of the US Tag Team Title Tournament tomorrow night! Also, there will be a Battle Royal that night and the winner receives a very special prize! Which leads me to my next announcement!
The winner of the Battle Royal will receive a championship match with WCW World Champion Ric Flair on July 28th at the Great American Bash, live on pay per view, originating from Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta!

GENE: Jake, it’s a pleasure to have you here in WCW, but I must ask you about the contents of that rather ominous looking bag…
JAKE: Oh, it ain’t nothing to worry about, Mean Gene! Just a friend of mine, but he’s kind of shy….wanna meet him?
GENE: No thank you! Now, what brings you to the big leagues, World Championship Wrestling?
JAKE: Like you said, Mean Gene: This is the big leagues! I see Flair, Steamboat, the Road Warriors, Sting, Vader, Lugar, the Steiner Brothers, only the best! I like to think that I can run in fast company like that! My pal is a big fan! Are you sure that you don’t want to meet him?
GENE: I appreciate that kind offer, but not interested The WCW World Title currently belongs to Ric Flair! The US Championship is held by Rick Rude! Ricky Steamboat is the reigning WCW TV Champion! Do any of those interest you?
JAKE: I’d be a fool not to be interested! I got into this sport to be a champion! Anybody with a title belt had better be looking over his shoulder for Jake the Snake! Let me ask these fans: Wouldn’t you like to meet my friend?

Diamond Dallas Paige & Scotty Riggs vs. Flash Flanagan & George South: Riggs has had buzzard’s luck when it comes to tag team partners. Marcus Bagwell left WCW. Greg Valentine had agreed to be Scotty’s partner for the US Tag tourney, but got an offer got a high dollar international tour and took that instead. Last week, the arrogant Paige invited himself to be Riggs’ partner for the tournament and, surprisingly, Scotty agreed. They actually look like a decent tag team combination. Riggs pins South with a clothesline off the top rope.
