SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19, 1984
1pm - 2pm
TAPED ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18 AT THE VICTORIA PAVILION IN CALGARY, ALBERTA
ED WHALEN opens the show at ringside and welcomes us to STAMPEDE WRESTLING!
WHALEN quickly runs down some of the matches we’ll see today, including Jim Neidhart taking on Steve DiSalvo, Bobby Duncum facing the Super Destroyer, and a huge 10-man tag team main event that will see long-time Hart family friend Leo Burke return to Calgary to team with Davey Boy Smith, Dynamite Kid, Bruce and Bret Hart to face Bad News Allen, Johnny Smith, Gama Singh, Kerry Brown and Kelly Kiniski!
VTR: Bad News Allen piledriving Bret Hart on the arena floor at the end of last week’s show.
WHALEN talks about the attack on Bret Hart last week, and says that Bret has said he will compete in the main event today, against doctor’s orders, and he will wrestle Allen, one on one, tomorrow night in Edmonton.
CHECKMATE V. GERRY MORROW, JIP – Morrow gives the masked man a tough match, but in the end, Checkmate gets the win with a bodypress from the top rope.

JIM NEIDHART V. STEVE DISALVO, JIP – Only the final few minutes of the match are shown. DiSalvo has the upper hand, and he knocks Neidhart through the ropes and to the apron. Neidhart recovers quickly, and climbs up to the top rope, diving off and hitting a diving shoulderblock for the pinfall.
After the match, WHALEN conducts an interview in the ring with JIM NEIDHART. Neidhart talks about the two masked men attacking Bobby Duncum on last week’s show, and says that he and Duncum are former football players, and he feels a comraderie with Duncum, and says if Bobby needs his help against Heenan’s goons, all he’s got to do is ask.
After Neidhart leaves the ring, WHALEN brings out BOBBY HEENAN and THE MASKED SUPERSTAR. Heenan says that Duncum is going to pay dearly when he faces the Super Destroyer later on, and warns Neidhart to stay far away from him and his men, or he’ll suffer, just like Duncum.

Superstar doesn’t release the hold, and when the referee tries to get him to break the hold, Heenan comes into the ring and shoves the referee aside.
JIM NEIDHART hits the ring, and when the Superstar sees him coming, he tosses Hito aside, and starts brawling with Neidhart! Heenan hits Neidhart in the back of the head, allowing Superstar to get the upper hand, and he goes to lock on the Cobra Clutch

BOBBY DUNCUM RUSHES TO THE RING!
Duncum brawls with the Superstar, but as Duncum gets the upper hand, the Super Destroyer comes out and attacks Duncum from behind. Referee Cedric Hathaway rushes to the ring, and calls for the bell to start the next match.
THE SUPER DESTROYER (w/ Bobby Heenan) V. BOBBY DUNCUM – The two men are already brawling as the bell sounds, and they battle all over the place. The match only lasts a couple of minutes, as the Masked Superstar returns to the ring, and he and Destroyer double-team Duncum. Hathaway calls for the bell, and disqualifies Destroyer, but the masked men don’t care, they give Duncum a vicious beating.
Jim Neidhart comes back out, though he’s not in good shape after the earlier brawl with the Superstar. He tries to help, but Superstar and Destroyer both turn their attention to him, and give him a beating as well.
Finally, the babyface locker room empties, and a group of wrestlers chase Heenan, Superstar and Super Destroyer from the ring.

Back from the break, WHALEN conducts an in-ring interview with BOBBY DUNCUM and JIM NEIDHART. Duncum thanks Neidhart for coming to his aid. Duncum then challenges the Masked Superstar and Super Destroyer to face him and Neidhart in a tag team match next week!
After Duncum and Neidhart leave the ring, WHALEN is joined by FOLEY’S ARMY: JR FOLEY, North American Champion BAD NEWS ALLEN, GREAT GAMA, KERRY BROWN and KELLY KINISKI.
JR Foley promises victory for his men, along with Johnny Smith, in the 10-man tag team main event. Bad News Allen talks about what he did to Bret Hart last week, and says that Bret is risking his career getting back in the ring with him, and he wants everyone to know that when Bret ends up permanently crippled, Bret only has himself to blame, and the fans and promoters can’t hold Allen responsible.
Kerry Brown says that every time the Masters of Disaster have challenged for the North American tag team titles, Davey Boy and Dynamite have relied on cheap disqualification wins to retain the titles, but now the promoters have signed several No DQ matches all over the Stampede territory, and it’s only a matter of time now before the Masters of Disaster are wearing the tag team belts!

DAVEY BOY SMITH & DYNAMITE KID & LEO BURKE & BRUCE HART & BRET HART V. JOHNNY SMITH & BAD NEWS ALLEN & GREAT GAMA & KERRY BROWN & KELLY KINISKI (w/ JR Foley), JIP – We join the match about 10 minutes in, and the final 10 minutes are shown on TV.
Late in the match, ADRIAN STREET comes to ringside, and picks up Bruce Hart’s British Columbia Mid-Heavyweight title belt. Street admires the belt, which gets Bruce’s attention, and he jumps out of the ring to confront Street, leaving his team short-handed in the match.
Bruce, known for his temper, doesn’t waste any time trying to reason with Street, he storms over, and starts swinging, throwing punches with reckless abandon. The two brawl around ringside while the match rages inside the ring.
The match ends when Bret Hart gets the upper hand on Bad News Allen, and drops Allen with a Piledriver, the same move that Allen almost crippled Hart with one week ago. Hart gets the 1, 2, 3 on the North American Champion!
As the babyfaces celebrate, Allen attacks Bret, and again throws him to the floor. Allen, just like last week, cinches Bret up for a Piledriver, but this time, Bret is able to backdrop him instead. Bret and Allen then brawl on the floor before several wrestlers pull them apart.
WHALEN quickly talks about next week’s show, and wraps things up.
