You and me were the hottest tag team in Japan, but Harley Race sold you a bill of goods and you stabbed me in the back! Sooner or later, you’re gonna pay! VTR:
WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel is seated behind an oak desk. Ole Anderson and Michael Hayes stand behind him.
BOCKWINKEL: Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for interrupting your great WCW wrestling with a housekeeping chore like this, but I have an announcement. For the next several weeks, I have WCW business to conduct in Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom. While I am away, I’m leaving the day to day operations of our great organization in the hands of my capable associates, Ole Anderson and Michael Hayes. Nobody knows our great sport like these two gentlemen and I know that I’m leaving WCW, including the upcoming Clash of the Champions, in very good hands! I’ll see you all when I return.
Sherri Martel leads the United States Champion to the ring!
Ravishing Rick Rude(w/Sherri Martel) vs. Matt Hardy: Rude will defend his recently won belt against former Champion Ricky Steamboat at the Clash. Rude calls out Steamboat’s name several times during this bout as he scores a convincing win, using the neckbreaker as a finisher.
WINNER: RICK RUDE
GENE: United States Champion Ravishing Rick Rude, the Clash is only three days away, here on the Super Station! You will defend against the great Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat. I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that he pinned you in a tag team match on this very program a week ago!
RUDE: But at Super Brawl, when it came down to money, marbles, and chalk, when we played for keeps, who walked out with the title?
SHERRI: You did, Ricky!
RUDE: Steamboat caught a lucky break last week! Gene, sort of like the time your Minnesota Twins actually won the World Series! It was a fluke, these people in Atlanta have seen that every time Dale Murphy ever hit a ball out of the infield! The Dragon poses no threat to me! I’m even considering stepping aside when we get to Dayton for the Clash! You know that my Sexy Sherri is the greatest woman wrestler of all time! I might let her take Steamboat on! I think you can take him, honey!
SHERRI: Let me have him! I’d claw his eyes out!
GENE: Michael Hayes, why are you out here?
HAYES: Gene, as you know, Commissioner Bockwinkel left ole and me in charge here. One of the matters he asked me to handle is this: WTBS has received several complaints from women’s groups about the lack of women’s wrestling here on WCW. We have decided to rectify the situation immediately. As Rick Rude just said, Sherri Martel is regarded as the top female wrestler in the United States today. We have brought in Debbie Combs, a highly regarded wrestler in the Southern states, and she’s in the ring right now.
SHERRI: I’ll take on any woman you can bring out here, but I don’t have my gear!
HAYES: Look, I told the Commissioner that I would have a woman’s match on TV today! Do the best ya can, Sherri!
Sherri kicks off her heels and stalks to the ring!
RUDE: Looks like the inmates are running the asylum, Mean Gene!
Sherri Martel vs. Debbie Combs: Sheri is clad in a dress for this match. Early on, it’s all Debbie Combs as she throws Sherri around the ring and Martel bumps for her like the Japanese army would for Godzilla! In the end, Debbie misses a splash and Sherri uses a Rick Rude neckbreaker to get the pin!
WINNER: SHERRI MARTEL
JESSE: Ya know what? I think she could give Steamboat a run for his money!

TAYLOR: Do you remember the Royal Executioner?
SMITH: That’s who you’ve got for a partner?
FINLAY: Yeah, he was a tough wrestler and he sent a lot of guys to hospital, but that don’t intimidate us none! We’ll take you on!
