The program begins with a panning shot of the Convention Center. We see a clown entertaining the fans. Mike Tenay and Dusty Rhodes open the program.
Tenay, ‘Fans, welcome to ‘Saturday Night Wrestling’! Dusty, what about that clown?”
Rhodes, “He seems pretty funny, but we got lots to talk about.”
Tenay, “We sure do. The world is waiting for Jimmy Hart’s new man, and the Ultimate Warrior is waiting to take him on.”
Rhodes, “Who is it Iron Mike?”
Tenay, “No one seems to know. Let’s get things started with the debut of Hacksaw Jim Duggan!”
Match #1
Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Killer Brooks
The popular Hacksaw comes down the aisle with a 2x4 and the American flag. The Long Beach crowd loves the man from Glen Falls, NY. Duggan enters the ring and “shoots” Brooks with the 2x4. Referee James Beard calls for the bell. Brooks knows he can’t match strength with Duggan, so he goes immediately to the underhanded tactics. Duggan is ready for that. He wrestles his usual bruising style. He hits the spear, and pins Brooks. As Beard raises Hacksaw’s hand. The clown comes into the ring, and shakes Jim’s hand. He raises Duggan’s hand again. Hacksaw seems confused.
Winner- Hacksaw Jim Duggan
Mike Tenay, and Dusty Rhodes are in the announce position.
Tenay, “Dusty, Hacksaw Jim Duggan is in the WWA, but what about this clown?”
Rhodes, “I don’t know Iron Mike, but he seems to love Hacksaw.”
Tenay, “I guess so. Speaking of new men, we have a new tag team arriving, let’s hear from them and their manager.”
We see Scott D’Amore and the Quebecers. D’Amore holds a hockey stick with the Canadian flag attached.
D’Amore, “My name is Scott D’Amore, and I am the leader of ‘Team Canada’. I have brought Jacques, and Pierre, the Quebecers, to the WWA. The tag team competition here was good, but now it’s off the charts. The Quebecers will quickly rise to the top, and prove that Canadians are far superior to Americans.”
All three men break into song.
“Of Canada, our home and native land!”
Match #2
The Quebecers w/Scott D’Amore vs. The Simpson Brothers
D’Amore demands the Canadian national anthem be played, and all three men stand at attention. Pierre starts vs. Steve. Pierre uses his size and strength to dish out punishment. Steve fights back. He uses his speed to gain an edge. Pierre picks up the intensity, and tags in Jacques. He continues to assault. Shaun tags in, and the younger Simpson gives it his best. The Quebecers use the elevated senton for the win.
Winners- The Quebecers
We see a video of various summer activities. A voiceover comes on.
“July 20, 1994, the WWA presents the ‘Summer Spectacular’. Join us at the Tacoma Dome for pay per view action.
Match #3
“Captain’s Match”
Hercules vs. The Gladiator
Jimmy Hart remains in the back preparing for his big reveal. These two big men are ready for action. Referee Chad Patton calls for the bell and we are underway. Both men exchange power moves. The Gladiator whips Hercules into the ropes and clamps on a bear hug. Hercules rakes the eyes to escape. Hercules starts to dish out punishment. The Gladiator is in retreat. This is simply a brawl. Both men end up on the arena floor. Referee Chad Patton’s count reaches ten. Both men have been counted out.
Result- Double Count Out
Marc Lowrance is in the studio.
Lowrance, “Let’s recap the Jimmy Hart situation. Two weeks ago, Hart said this.
Hart, “‘Saturday Night Wrestling’! Hahahaha! This is going to be one of the biggest night in wrestling history, because of me! I will be debuting the future of professional wrestling, a man that must be seen to be believed! You will be in stunned amazement. And I have chosen my man’s first opponent, if he has the guts, Ultimate Warrior we want you! Risk life and limb, and take him on!”
Earlier this week, the Ultimate Warrior responded like this.
Warrior, “The Warrior never backs down! Jimmy Hart, it matters not who you bring into this fight, I will stand up to him! All my Warriors will stand with me! Jimmy Hart, you have challenged the wrong man, I am the future of pro wrestling!”
The buildup is complete. Let’s go to the ring.
Match #4
The Ultimate Warrior storms the ring. The Long Beach crowd goes crazy. Now the anticipation rises. Down the aisle comes Jimmy Hart, and a huge man. He has to be over seven feet tall. He and Hart enter the ring. Hart takes the mic from Marc Lowrance.
“Ladies, and Gentlemen, I give you the Giant!”
The bell rings and we are underway. The Ultimate Warrior is a big, and powerful man, but he is dwarfed by the Giant. It doesn’t stop Warrior from fighting. Warrior dishes out punishment, but so does the big man. Jimmy Hart is manic and ringside. The crowd is getting over their initial amazement, and they get very loud. Finally, the Giant gets the Warrior up in a choke slam. He smashes Warrior into the mat, and covers him. Referee Billy Silverman counts 1…2…3! The Giant wins! He picks the Warrior up, and does it again. He starts to pick him up a third time, but something is happening in the aisle. We hear Mike Tenay say,
Tenay, “Dusty! It’s, it’s…Hulk Hogan! Hulk Hogan!”
Rhodes, “Hulk Hogan is back! He’ll save the Warrior!”
Hogan climbs into the ring. He points at the Giant! Hogan bounces off the ropes, and drops the leg on…THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR!
Tenay, and Rhodes, “NOOOOOO! What is going on?
Winner- The Giant
The program ends with Hulk Hogan and the Giant flanking Jimmy Hart. The crowd is in stunned silence.
