They welcome us to this week’s episode of MLW’s “TITANS OF THE RING”!
On tonight’s program . . .
The Rockers, Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, will be in tag team action!
“Mr. USA” Tony Atlas will be here!
Last week, Diamond Dallas Page introduced Earthquake as a member of his “Diamond Mine”, we’ll see Earthquake in action here tonight!
One of the most exciting individuals in sports entertainment, the Ultimate Warrior, will be here!
Jake “the Snake” Roberts will be in action!
Mr Perfect makes his in-ring debut here tonight, as he meets “Cowboy” Scott Casey in our feature match!
Plus, Brutus Beefcake will have “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan as his guest on The Barber Shop!
And, we’ll take another look at The Million Dollar Man!
THE ROCKERS: SHAWN MICHAELS & MARTY JANNETTY beat MIKE RAGIN & LARRY LANE. The Rockers are an exciting, fast-paced tag team, and they make quick work of Ragin and Lane here. After putting Lane flat on the mat with a double dropkick, they send Ragin to the floor with another double dropkick! From there, Michaels and Jannetty head to opposite turnbuckles, and hit double flying fistdrops off the top rope onto Lane, with Michaels then covering him for the 1, 2, 3!
Mean Gene Okerlund is at the interview podium. He’s joined by Demolition: Axe & Smash.
Mean Gene says that they were victorious last week in the main event, defeating a team that many people might forget just how tough they are, in Greg Valentine and the Honky Tonk Man.
Before Axe or Smash can respond, Mr. Fuji makes his way out to the podium.
Fuji says that he’s managed Demolition in the past, and he took them to great heights in the tag team division. With his guidance, they could rule the tag team division again!
Axe says that Fuji’s right, they had a lot of success with him in their corner. However, they’ve had a lot of success on their own as well, and they’ve realized that they don’t need him!
This angers Fuji, who says that obviously he was mistaken, he thought Axe and Smash were smart men.
At that point, The Warlord and The Barbarian jump Demolition from behind!
Demolition battle back, and start to gain the upper hand in the brawl, but Mr. Fuji hits Smash in the back of the head with his cane, then hands it to the Warlord, who BREAKS THE CANE over Axe’s head!
Barbarian and Warlord throw Demolition off the podium, to the arena floor, and stomp away at them, before walking off with Fuji, leaving Axe and Smash in a heap on the arena floor!
Vince says that it’s not often that we see a team like Demolition take a beating like that!
Jesse says that Demolition made a big mistake, turning Fuji down, but it looks like the Devious One has upgraded with the Barbarian and the Warlord!
“MR USA” TONY ATLAS defeats IRON MIKE SHARPE. Sharpe is no slouch, he gets some offense in here, but Atlas is just too powerful, and in the end, Mr USA gets the win by submission with the Bearhug.
EARTHQUAKE (w/ Diamond Dallas Page) beats MIKE STONE. Earthquake is a mountain of a man, and he attacks Stone as soon as the bell rings. Stone can’t get any offense going, and Earthquake gets the win in about a minute, delivering the Sitdown Splash for the 1, 2, 3!
After getting his hand raised, Earthquake pulls Stone up, and slams him back down to the mat. Quake then hits the Sitdown Splash a second time!
As Dallas Page leads Earthquake from the ring, Mike Stone is loaded onto a stretcher and wheeled to the back.
Vince says that we’ll take another look at The Million Dollar Man.
Vince says that the Million Dollar Man is despicable!
Jesse says that he loves it! If you have the money that the Million Dollar Man has, why not flaunt it?
During the bout, we see an insert promo from Warrior, saying that he’s going to win the Battle Riot battle royal and the Intercontinental title.
After about 2 minutes of pummeling Condello, Warrior hoists him up in a Press Slam, then drops him to the mat, runs the ropes, and delivers a Splash before covering Condello for the 1, 2, 3!
When his music hits, Warrior runs back down the aisle to the locker room.
We go to a video of the heel managers in the backstage area. Diamond Dallas Page, Slick, Bobby Heenan and Mr Fuji discuss the upcoming Battle Riot match, but they soon start arguing amongst themselves, each saying that one of his men will win the match and the Intercontinental title!
JAKE “THE SNAKE” ROBERTS (w/ Damien) beats DALE MOORE. Roberts is the exact opposite of the Warrior in the previous match, Jake is slow and methodical, stalking his opponent around the ring.
We see an insert promo from Jake, saying that he’s going to win the Battle Riot match.
Roberts gets the win the DDT after about 3 minutes. Jake grabs the bag he carries to the ring, unties it, and dumps Damien on top of Moore!
Vince, Jesse and Gorilla talk about what took place last week during the Barber Shop segment.
VTR: Last Week on Titans of the Ring:
Brutus starts to introduce his guests this week, but there’s some commotion . . .
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Larry Zbyszko walk out onto the set!
Piper takes a look around, and then says that this whole thing is just a cheap rip-off of his Piper’s Pit! The only difference is, Brutus Beefcake will never be in the same league as the Hot Rod!
Piper and Zbyszko then start trashing the set!!!
Brutus grabs Piper, and Roddy sucker punches him! Roddy and Larry then put the boots to Brutus! The scheduled guests, the Killer Bees, arrive on the scene, but Piper and Zbyszko fight them off.
Finally, referees, security personnel and severy wrestlers show up and drag Piper and Zbyszko away.
END VTR
Vince sends us to Brutus Beefcake, for this week’s edition of The Barber Shop!
Brutus Beefcake welcomes us to another edition of The Barber Shop! He talks briefly about what happened last week, and says that he’s going to get his hands on Piper and Zbyszko in due time, and then introduces his guest this week . . . “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan!
Brutus says that we saw Duggan get involved after the Big Bossman’s match last week, where Bossman was assaulting his opponent with his nightstick after the match.
Duggan says that he’s known the Big Bossman for several years, and he knows that Bossman is a mean, sadistic man. Duggan wasn’t at all surprised to see Bossman attacking his opponent after the match like that, but says it was unnecessary, Bossman had already won the match, there was no need for what he did afterwards! Duggan says that as long as he’s around, he won’t let that kind of thing happen, he’ll always intervene!
Duggan then says that he went to MLW President Jack Tunney, and got a match with Bossman, one on one, at Battle Riot on January 28!
Brutus says that’s a match that the fans definitely won’t want to miss, as two of the hardest hitting men in sports entertainment square off on January 28.
Vince, Jesse and Gorilla then send us to the ring for our main event, as Mr. Perfect squares off with “Cowboy” Scott Casey!
MR PERFECT (w/ Bobby Heenan) beats “COWBOY” SCOTT CASEY. Casey has the advantage early on, using scientific wrestling to keep Perfect on the mat. However, Perfect soon turns the tables, and the commentators note that instead of resorting to underhanded tactics, Perfect simply out-wrestles Casey!
In the end, as we near the 7-minute mark, Perfect hits Casey with the Perfect-Plex for the 1, 2, 3!
Vince, Gorilla and Jesse wrap things up, and hype next week’s show. They talk about Battle Riot ’90, taking place on January 28, live on USA Network. We know that Hacksaw Duggan will face the Big Bossman, and 30 men will compete in the Battle Riot battle royal for the Intercontinental title. Next week, more matches will be announced.
