VINCE MCMAHON, GORILLA MONSOON and JESSE “THE BODY” VENTURA open the show.
They welcome us to this week’s episode of MLW’s “TITANS OF THE RING”!
On tonight’s program . . .
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan will be in action!
We’ll see the first member of Bobby Heenan’s “Heenan Family”, the monster from Rocky Mountains, Big Van Vader!
“Macho Man” Randy Savage, with the lovely Elizabeth in his corner, will be in action!
We’ll see The Big Bossman in action!
The unorthodox duo of The Bushwhackers will be in tag team action!
And, in our feature bout, Demolition, Axe and Smash, face Diamond Dallas Page’s Rhythm & Blues, Greg Valentine and the Honky Tonk Man!
Plus, we’ll take another look at Mr. Perfect!
Bobby Heenan said last week that he would introduce the second member of his “Heenan Family” this week!
And, Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake will have The Killer Bees, Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell, as his guests on The Barber Shop!
“HACKSAW” JIM DUGGAN defeats GEORGE SOUTH. South attacked Duggan from behind before the bell sounded, but the advantage was short-lived, as Duggan turned the tables quickly and pounded South into the mat. A minute or so later, Duggan dropped into the 3-point stance, hit a running tackle, and then delivered a jumping kneedrop for the 1, 2, 3!
Vince, Jesse and Gorilla then send us to another video of Mr. Perfect. This time, he’s on a golf course.
Gorilla says that we’ve seen Perfect playing baseball and golf, and he’s obviously talented, but Gorilla is going to reserve judgement on whether or not he really is “perfect” until we actually see him compete inside the squared circle!
Vince says that he’ll get that opportunity, as Mr. Perfect will make his in-ring debut next week on Titans of the Ring!
BIG VAN VADER (w/ Bobby Heenan) beats NEIL CARR. Vader pins Carr in less than a minute! Vader attacks as soon as the bell sounds, knocking Carr senseless with vicious rights and lefts, Vader splashes Carr in the corner, and shows off his agility by connecting with a MOONSAULT! The commentators can’t believe a man of Vader’s size could execute a moonsault like that!
Vader covers Carr, but pulls him up at 2. Vader pulls Carr up by his hair, then drives him into the mat with a Powerbomb! Vader then covers Carr by placing a foot on his chest for the 1, 2, 3! On commentary, Vince notes that the referee probably could have counted to 1,000!
After Vader is announced as the winner, Heenan grabs the house mic from Howard Finkel, and tells the fans that they’re looking at the next World heavyweight champion!
Mean Gene Okerlund is at the interview podium. He’s joined by Diamond Dallas Page!
DDP says that he’s been checking out wrestling promotions all around the world, but settled on Major League Wrestling, because this is the place where you’ll find the biggest and baddest wrestlers . . . and he’s signed the biggest and baddest of them all . . . the 6’8”, 500 pound EARTHQUAKE!
Earthquake walks out and joins Page at the podium.
Page says that’s not all, he’s signed a tag team that’s going to defeat Demolition in the main event tonight, and then go on to become the first World tag team champions: Rhythm & Blues!
Greg Valentine and The Honky Tonk Man come out, wearing matching, Elvis-inspired, outfits. Valentine’s hair is dyed black as well, and styled similar to Honky’s.
Honky Tonk Man says that not only are he and Valentine a great tag team, but they’re talented music stars as well, and in the coming weeks, they are going to give wrestling fans the world over the opportunity to hear them perform their upcoming single, “Hunka Hunka Honky Love”!
Valentine says that Honky is right, never before has their been a team as multi-talented as him and Honky!
Page says that he’s still looking at more wrestlers to bring into the Diamond Mine, and says that they are going to be the top group in MLW!
“MACHO MAN” RANDY SAVAGE (w/ Miss Elizabeth) defeats ALAN DENNISON. As “Pomp and Circumstance” plays, the Macho Man hits the ring, with the lovely Miss Elizabeth by his side. Savage picks up a quick win, as he wears Dennison down, before hitting a double axehandle from the top to put Dennison flat on his back on the mat. Savage then quickly hops back up to the top turnbuckle, and hits the Flying Elbowdrop for the 1, 2, 3!
THE BIG BOSSMAN (w/ Slick) defeats TONY MONTANA. Bossman squashes Montana in short order, hitting the Sidewalk Slam for the pinfall.
Afterwards, as Slick keeps the referee at bay, Bossman handcuffs Montana to the ropes, and then batters him with his nightstick!
Several officials and enhancement wrestlers try to stop Bossman, but he and Slick send them from the ring!
Hacksaw Jim Duggan hits the ring, 2x4 in hand, and chases Bossman and Slick from the ring!
Duggan checks on Montana as officials free him from the handcuffs.
Vince, Gorilla and Jesse talk about another wrestler on his way to Major League Wrestling . . . The Million Dollar Man!
THE BUSHWHACKERS: LUKE & BUTCH defeat TODD CHAMPION & IRON MIKE SHARPE. The Bushwhackers make their way to the ring, high-fiving the fans, and every so often, stopping to lick a ringside fan!
Champion and Sharpe aren’t amused, and they attack the Bushwhackers as soon as Luke and Butch enter the ring. The Bushwhackers quickly battle back, though, and get the win in just under two minutes when they hit Champion with the Battering Ram, followed by the Double Gutbuster, and Luke then covers Champion for the 1, 2, 3!
We go back to Mean Gene Okerlund at the broadcast podium. He’s joined by Bobby “the Brain” Heenan and Big Van Vader.
Heenan gloats about Vader’s impressive victory earlier, and says that there’s no one in Major League Wrestling that can stop the monster from the Rocky Mountains!
Heenan then introduces the next member of his “Heenan Family”, and the man that he says will win the Battle Riot battle royal and become the Intercontinental champion . . . Mr Perfect!
Perfect comes out, and says that Heenan made “the perfect choice” in bringing him into the Heenan Family. He says that Heenan is right, Mr Perfect is going to win at Battle Riot, and become the first MLW Intercontinental champion!
Vince, Jesse and Gorilla talk about what we just saw. Jesse says that Heenan is putting together a truly “perfect” stable!
Vince says that it’s hard to disagree with that, although they have yet to see just what Mr Perfect can do in the ring.
Then they send us to Brutus Beefcake, for this week’s edition of The Barber Shop!
Brutus Beefcake welcomes us to another edition of The Barber Shop! He starts to introduce his guests this week, but there’s some commotion . . .
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Larry Zbyszko walk out onto the set!
Piper takes a look around, and then says that this whole thing is just a cheap rip-off of his Piper’s Pit! The only difference is, Brutus Beefcake will never be in the same league as the Hot Rod!
Piper and Zbyszko then start trashing the set!!!
Brutus grabs Piper, and Roddy sucker punches him! Roddy and Larry then put the boots to Brutus! The scheduled guests, the Killer Bees, arrive on the scene, but Piper and Zbyszko fight them off.
Finally, referees, security personnel and severy wrestlers show up and drag Piper and Zbyszko away.
Vince, Gorilla and Jesse talk about what we just saw. Jesse thought it was great, saying that Piper was right, the Barber Shop is just a second-rate rip off of Piper’s Pit!
Vince is disgusted, saying that Piper and Zbyszko had no right being there, that was Beefcake’s time to talk with the Killer Bees.
Gorilla thinks that Hot Rod and Larry Z are going to have hell to pay after that attack!
DEMOLITION: AXE & SMASH beat RHYTHM & BLUES: GREG VALENTINE & HONKY TONK MAN (w/ Diamond Dallas Page). The match goes back and forth early on, but eventually Demolition simply overpower their opponents. Even DDP’s attempts to get involved don’t help, as he’s cleared from the ring by Smash!
Late in the match, Mr. Fuji comes out to ringside, and he seems very interested in Demolition. On commentary, Vince says that Fuji has managed Demolition in the past, and wonders if that has something to do with why Fuji is out here now?
In the end, Demolition hit Honky Tonk Man with the Demolition Decapitation, and Axe covers him for the 1, 2, 3!
As Demolition are getting their hands raised, Fuji leaves ringside and heads to the locker room.
Vince, Gorilla and Jesse wrap things up, and hype next week’s show.
