VINCE MCMAHON, GORILLA MONSOON and JESSE “THE BODY” VENTURA open the show. They’re standing in a studio, surrounded by television monitors.
They welcome us to the debut episode of MLW’s “TITANS OF THE RING”!
On this special New Year’s Day show, we’ll take a look at some of the wrestlers that are going to be a part of Major League Wrestling!
Plus, we’ll join Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake in The Barbershop, where he’ll have Bobby “the Brain” Heenan as his guest.
At this announcement, Gorilla Monsoon rolls his eyes, and says that wherever he goes, the Weasel always seems to show up!
Jesse says that Gorilla talks awfully tough here in this studio, knowing that the Brain isn't around.
Vince says he might have to act as referee here between Gorilla and Jesse, but while he does that, let’s take a look at one of the wrestlers who’s sure to make a big impact here in Major League Wrestling!
We go to a baseball diamond, where multi-time A.L. batting champion Wade Boggs introduces us to “Mr. Perfect”.
We then go to comments from Mr. Perfect, where he says that he’ll prove to everyone what he’s been saying all along . . . that he’s absolutely perfect!
We’re back in the studio with Vince, Gorilla and Jesse.
Jesse can’t wait to see Mr. Perfect in action here in MLW! He says if there’s one man that could possibly be better than himself, it’s Mr. Perfect!
Vince says that Mr. Perfect certainly has the talent to be a superstar here in Major League Wrestling!
Vince then says that when you think about energy and excitement inside the ring, there’s one name that fans think of above all the rest . . . the Ultimate Warrior!
Gorilla says that the Warrior is definitely a favourite of the fans, and he can’t wait to see him in Major League Wrestling!
Jesse says that Warrior might have a great body, but it’s between the ears that he’s lacking! Ventura says that the Warrior is an idiot, and all the muscles in the world isn’t going to change that!
Vince then sends us to comments from Slick.
We see Slick backstage, and he’s joined by The Twin Towers, Akeem and the Big Bossman, as well as Kamala and King Kong Bundy!
Slick says that he’s put together the biggest, baddest stable in all of wrestling, and there’s no one in MLW that will be able to stop them! He says that he and his men will rule Major League Wrestling!
Back in the studio, Vince, Gorilla and Jesse are all in awe of Slick’s group! Jesse says that not only are these the biggest men in wrestling, they’re also the baddest! He says that Slick might be right, there’s probably no one in MLW that will be able to stand up to this group!
Vince says that it’s time for The Barbershop, with Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake, and his guest Bobby “the Brain” Heenan.
Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake welcomes us all to the very first edition of The Barbershop! He says that there are plenty of people that he would have preferred to have as his very first guest, but unfortunately, he’s stuck with this man . . . Bobby Heenan.
Heenan walks out onto the set, and tells Brutus that he had better watch his mouth, because the last thing in the world Brutus wants is to get on the bad side of the man he’s about to introduce!
Heenan says that everyone knows he’s the greatest manager in the history of professional wrestling, he’s managed legends like Harley Race, Ray Stevens and Nick Bockwinkel! But, while those men were great technical wrestlers, none of them can match the first member of his new Heenan Family!
This man is a devastating force of nature, there’s simply no other way to describe him . . .
BIG VAN VADER!!!!
Even Brutus is impressed, and says that he’s heard the stories from Japan, about the destruction that Vader left in his wake!
Heenan says that Vader has done what nobody in the history of wrestling in Japan has ever done, he thoroughly dominated the legend Antonio Inoki, and beat him in under 3 minutes!
Heenan says that there is nothing that can stop Big Van Vader from becoming the MLW World Heavyweight champion!
Heenan then says that next week, he’ll introduce the next member of the Heenan Family, the man that will win the Intercontinental title!
Back in the studio, Vince, Jesse and Gorilla are shocked by Heenan’s announcement!
Vince says that Vader is a monster! Gorilla says that he never thought he would agree with “the Weasel”, but he’s not sure that there’s anyone in Major League Wrestling that will be able to stop Big Van Vader!
Jesse says that, with Vader as the first member of the Heenan Family, he can’t wait to see who else Heenan has signed!
Vince says that on The Barbershop, Heenan mentioned bringing in a man that will win the MLW Intercontinental title. He says that MLW President Jack Tunney has some news regarding that title.
We go to MLW President Jack Tunney in his office.
Tunney says that he has some big news! On Sunday night, January 28, Major League Wrestling will present a big event, BATTLE RIOT ‘90, and it will air FREE on USA Network!
He says that the main event of Battle Riot will be a 30-man Battle Royal! There’s a twist though, instead of all 30 men being in the ring at the same time, two men will start, and then every 2 minutes, another wrestler will enter! Wrestlers can be eliminated by pinfall, or being thrown over the top rope and to the floor.
The winner of the Battle Riot match will be crowned the very first MLW Intercontinental champion!
Back in the studio, Vince says that before they say goodbye for today, there’s one more video that they want to show the fans.
Vince says that The Macho Man Randy Savage will be a part of Major League Wrestling! One of the most exciting, and unpredictable, men in the history of the sport will be joining Major League Wrestling!
We go to comments from Randy Savage, who says that the Madness is coming to Major League Wrestling! OOOOOHHHH YEEEAAAAHHHH!
Vince, Gorilla and Jesse wrap things up, and hype next week’s show.
