Dusty and Dustin Rhodes are in the ring.
Dusty, “Welcome everyone to ‘Saturday Night Thunder’! I have with me tonight, the greatest young wrestler in the sport, and my son…Dustin Rhodes!”
Dustin, “Thanks Dad, what an honor to be interviewed by the ‘American Dream’.”
Dusty, “Well, you about to surpass, your old man baby! We got a big announcement later in the show. We going to announce the field for the U.S. Title tournament, and I got a surprise for everyone, Dustin is in it!”
Dustin, “They told me before the program that I had a spot, I don’t know who else is in there, but Dustin Rhodes is ready!”
Dusty, “There are a lot of good wrestlers in the WWA, but no one beating you!”
Dusty and Dustin embrace.
Match #1
Dustin Rhodes vs. Killer Brooks
The veteran from Waxahachie jumps Dustin before the bell. He pounds away, and the youngster is in trouble. The crowd gets behind Rhodes and he rallies. He takes the fight to Brooks, and wins with a bulldog.
Winner- Dustin Rhodes
Match #2
The Simpson Brothers vs. The Cuban Connection
The popular brothers from South Africa meet the rugged Cubans. Shaun starts for his side, and David Sierra for his. The veteran Sierra grabs the early edge. He backs Simpson into the corner, and the two Cubans work him over. Santana tags in and continues the assault. Shaun escapes and tags in his older brother. Steve is a house afire. The match goes back and forth until Steve catches Santana with a flying bodypress for the win. An exciting match.
Winners- The Simpson Brothers
Marc Lowrance is with Jimmy Hart and Al Perez.
Lowrance, “With me is Jimmy Hart, and a newcomer to the WWA Al Perez. Mr. Hart, there have been rumors of major changes in your ‘First Family’. Apparently it is true.”
Hart, “HAHAHA, that’s right Lowrance, no one gets ahead of Jimmy Hart. There are changes coming in the WWA, and I’m on the cutting edge.”
Lowrance, “Well, you may be right because Mr. Perez is in our main event tonight. It is the first match of the United States Title tournament, he meets Tito Santana.”
Hart, “That burrito vendor? Al Perez is the ‘Latin Heartthrob’, and he’s going to beat Santana, move on, and win the U.S. Title, and Lowrance, remember this, Jimmy Hart isn’t through with surprises. HAHAHAHA!”
Lowrance, “We will keep and eye out for that. Later in the show we will have more information on the tournament.”
Match #3
The Bossman w/Woman vs. Rex King
The Bossman seems even more vicious than in the past. Maybe it’s the motivation of Woman? He attacks King at the bell, and Rex is in trouble. Bossman pounds away, and dishes out punishment. King fights back, but he has no chance. Bossman hits the sidewalk slam for the win.
Winner- The Bossman
Match #4
Moadib w/General Skandor Akbar vs. Jackie Fulton
The “Nubian Terror” is one of the most dangerous men in the sport. Fulton tries to use his speed, and it works for a little bit. Akbar shouts instructions in some foreign language, and Moadib seems to understand. He takes over and wins with the cross face submission.
Winner- Moadib
Marc Lowrance is seated in the studio.
Lowrance, “Fans, on Christmas night WWA President JJ Dillon announced that we were adding the United States Championship. We have been waiting for the launch, and it’s here. In the next several weeks, eight men will fight it out in a single elimination tournament to determine the first champion. You already know the first match, tonight newcomer Al Perez will take on veteran from Toucula, Mexico Tito Santana. That will get us off to a fast start, but who are the other six men? Here is the list, the Bossman, Vladimir Koloff, Bobby Duncum Jr., the Ultimate Warrior, and Dustin Rhodes. Any of these men would make a worthy champion, winter is heating up in the WWA.”

Sam Houston w/Baby Doll vs. Don Muraco
The talented Houston is still going back and forth with Sabu, the vicious man from India has punished Houston, but the game Texan won’t back down. Muraco will be a good test for Sam. Muraco wrestles a hard hitting style. He has Houston in early trouble. Baby Doll shouts instructions to her man. Sam rallies. That Texas temper takes over and he works over Muraco. Sam hits the bulldog for the win. As referee Billy Silverman raises Houston’s hand Sabu hits the ring and attacks Sam. Woman is with him shouting instructions. Security personnel seperate the two. Baby Doll goes after Woman, but she and Sabu hightail it up the aisle.
Winner- Sam Houston
Match #6
Billy Black, and Joel Deaton wait in the ring. The arena lights go out, and a laser light show begins. A futuristic voice comes over the mic.
“In the vast reaches of the cosmos two Warriors began a quest. They took on all comers in every corner of the galaxy. They defeated everyone in their path, and are bringing that futuristic energy to the WWA. Entering the arena…Big Titan…The Gladiator…the Intergalactic Warriors!”
The lights come on, and two huge men with face paint stand in the ring. The bell rings, and they attack. Big Titan goes right after Black. The “Bad Boy” is very talented, but he doesn’t know what hit him. The fans get behind the Warriors. The Gladiator tags in. He is huge and athletic. He works over Black, and Deaton tags in. Joel is very rugged, but he’s no match for this. The Gladiator uses a powerslam for the win. Referee Chad Patton raises both men’s hands. The lights go out again, and laser light bombard the ring, the Intergalactic Warriors are here!
Winners- The Intergalactic Warriors
Marc Lowrance is with Tito Santana.
Lowrance, “With me is one of the most talented veterans in wrestling. Tito, you meet Al Perez tonight with the chance to advance in the United States Championship tournament, what an opportunity.”
Santana, “It is Marc. Perez is very good, but I’ve been in the ring with them all. I’ve held titles all over the world, and I want one more, I will be the United States Champion…Arriba!”
Lowrance, “Santana and Perez next!”

United States Championship Tournament
Tito Santana vs. Al Perez w/Jimmy Hart
Two talented wrestlers go at it. The “Mouth of the South” could be the difference. Referee James Beard calls for the bell, and we are under way. Both men are skilled wrestlers, and they exchange holds and counter holds. Hart is manic at ringside. He shouts instructions to Perez, and insults at Tito. Santana gets a two count, and Hart jumps up on the ring apron. Tito turns towards Hart. Perez attacks from behind, and Tito crashes into Hart. Jimmy falls to the floor, but Perez rolls up Santana. Beard counts the fall, and Perez. Hart is stunned, but he makes it back into the ring to celebrate with his man.
Winner- Al Perez
Mike Tenay and Dusty Rhodes close the show.
Tenay, “Dream, an exciting match, and Tito was unlucky.”
Rhodes, “This is pro wrestling Iron Mike, a win is a win. Al Perez is good, but he might have to face Dustin next, that’ll be all she wrote!”
Tenay, “Dustin has to be one of the early favorites in the tournament, and speaking of the tournament, we will have two more first round matches next week. This is going to be exciting!”
Rhodes, “That’s what the WWA is…excitement!”
Tenay, “But Dusty, we have one more announcement for next week.”
Rhodes, “What's that?”
Tenay, “WWA President JJ Dillon will be here.”
Rhodes, “That old polecat!”
Tenay, “Well the President has a big announcement concerning the World Champion, Hulk Hogan, and the title!”
Rhodes, “That is big!”
Tenay, “And he’s going to make that announcement in ‘Piper’s Pit’!”
Rhodes, “Wow!”
Tenay, “Don’t Miss next week’s show!”
