CRUISE and ROUGEAU welcome us to another exciting episode of NWA TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING! This week, the matches were all taped at the Civic Center in Providence, RI.
This week, Public Enemy meets High Voltage in tag team action . . . Mike Enos, one-half of Rough n’ Ready, faces Firebreaker Chip . . . Sgt. Craig Pittman will face Mortis . . . the State Trooper takes on the Iron Sheik . . . the Belfast Bruiser will be in action against the Berzerker . . . and in the main event, American Ace will challenge Chris Candido for the NWA World TV Championship!
We see a video of AMERICAN ACE and “MADE IN THE USA” MADUSA MICELI carving pumpkins with children at a local elementary school. The video ends as Ace leads the children in the Pledge of Allegiance.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU talk about the Handicap match that took place two weeks ago, where the Ultimate Warrior, after finding out that his partner the Acadian Giant had been attacked, agreed to face both Mortis and Unabomb alone. Luckily for the Warrior, American Ace saved him from a vicious beating at the hands of Whippleman’s men.
VTR: American Ace saving the Ultimate Warrior from Mortis and Unabomb two weeks ago on NWA-TNA.
We go to pre-recorded comments from HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN, MORTIS, UNABOMB and BIG VAN VADER.
Several men, wearing scrubs and holding a stretcher, stand in the background. Whippleman says that they are his own private medics, and they’ll be on call during his men’s matches to take the opponents out on that stretcher.
WHIPPLEMAN says that his men will destroy the Ultimate Warrior, and if American Ace is stupid enough to stand side by side with the Warrior, he’ll suffer the same fate!
Ini Kamoze’s “Here Comes the Hotstepper” brings Public Enemy to ring, dancing along with the song.
VS.
MATCH #1:
PUBLIC ENEMY (Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge) beat HIGH VOLTAGE (Robbie Rage & Kenny Kaos). Public Enemy gets the win in a hard-fought match after Grunge slams Robbie Rage, then Rocco hits a somersault splash off the top rope for the pinfall.
Public Enemy dance in the ring for a few minutes after the match.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU are joined in the studio by THE COWBOYS: RICK CASEY & LANCE CASSIDY.
CASSIDY has a couple of cowboy hats with him, that he hands to Cruise and Rougeau, naming them honourary cowboys.
CASEY talks about the tag team scene in the NWA, and says that so far the tag team titles have eluded them, but as everyone saw last week, they’ve got the Bodies’ number, and it’s only a matter of time before he and Cassidy win the belts!
Before the next match, FIREBREAKER CHIP takes the house mic from Gary Michael Cappetta, and warns parents about the dangers of leaving lighters where kids can get ahold of them.
VS.
MATCH #2:
FIREBREAKER CHIP beats MIKE ENOS. Enos is no slouch, and he gives Chip all he can handle, but in the end, Chip shows his power, hoisting Enos up and delivering a running powerslam for the pinfall.
VTR: NWA World Champ Jeff Jarrett and NWA TV Champ Chris Candido insulting Ray Rougeau a few weeks back, and the subsequent brawl with Jacques Rougeau.
CRUISE and ROUGEAU talk about a video that aired last Saturday, on the debut episode of NWA Saturday Morning Slam, where Candido and Jarrett were in Jacques and Raymond’s hometown of Montreal.
We see a vignette featuring NWA Champ JEFF JARRETT and NWA TV Champ CHRIS CANDIDO. They’re in Montreal, standing beside a statue of Jacques and Ray Rougeau’s uncle, Johnny Rougeau. They talk a little bit about Johnny, that he used to be the president of the QMJHL, and was involved in local politics.
JARRETT then motions to someone off camera, and we see a large dumptruck back up to the statue. The back end lifts up and opens . . . and trash pours out, all over the statue!
CANDIDO says that’s better, since Johnny, and the entire Rougeau family, are trash!
RAY ROUGEAU can barely contain his anger, and says that he wishes he could get in the ring with those two and teach them a lesson, but he retired on doctor’s orders, and is unable to wrestle anymore. He says that Jacques won’t let those two jerks get away with disrespecting their family like that, and he’s sure there are plenty of wrestlers in the locker room, wrestlers who respect the Rougeau family, who would be more than happy to help Jacques.
CRUISE says that Steve “Dr. Death” Williams has had his share of problems with Candido and Jarrett as well, and he’ll challenge Jarrett for the NWA World title on the special Halloween episode of NWA-TNA on October 25.
RAY says he can’t wait to watch Williams take the NWA title from Jarrett!
VS.
MATCH #3:
MORTIS (w/ Harvey Whippleman) beats SGT. CRAIG PITTMAN. Pittman tries to use his submission style to wear Mortis down, but the masked man overpowers Pittman, and hits the Flatliner for the pinfall.
After the match, Mortis hits a second Flatliner, and Whippleman calls for his medics, who load Pittman onto the stretcher and take him backstage.
We go to pre-recorded comments from JEAN-PIERRE LAFITTE. LaFitte is hanging out in a dimly-lit room, looking through a pile of coins and assorted treasure that’s been dumped on the table in front of him. He says that this is the booty that he and his crew brought back from their most recent pillaging. He then says that he’s on his way to the NWA, and anyone who gets is in his way will end up walking the plank!
VS.
MATCH #4:
THE STATE TROOPER beats THE IRON SHEIK. Trooper gets the win after dropping the Iron Sheik with a DDT.
JACQUES ROUGEAU cuts a promo in the ring, talking about the video that we saw earlier in the show of Candido and Jarrett dumping garbage on a statue of his uncle, Johnny Rougeau. He says that Jarrett and Candido made this personal, and says that he’s not going to rest until he’s run both of them out of wrestling!
It’s time for the NWA CONTROL CENTER segment with STAN LANE, brought to us by
LANE runs down some upcoming NWA events, and then talks about the October 25 TV show, which will be a special Halloween edition of NWA-TNA! Some big matches have been signed, including Steve Williams challenging Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight title!
Another big match that will take place is the CHAMBER OF HORRORS match! This will be a steel cage match, where the only way to win is for a member of one team to place a member of the opposing team into the chair of torture, and throw the lever! One team will consist of North American Champ the Ultimate Warrior, American Ace and Earthquake, and on the other team will be Mortis, Unabomb and King Kong Bundy!
VS.
MATCH #5:
THE BELFAST BRUISER beats THE BERZERKER. The Bruiser, while not being the biggest man in the NWA, is one of the few that can stand toe to toe with the Berzerker and hold his own. There are very few wrestling holds in this one, the match is nothing more than a knock-down, drag-out. In the end, the Belfast Bruiser gets the win by hitting a diving kneedrop from the top rope for the pinfall.
VS.
MATCH #6
NWA WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP:
CHRIS CANDIDO (Champ) (w/ Capt. Lou Albano) battles THE AMERICAN ACE (w/ Madusa “Made in the USA” Miceli) to a NO CONTEST. Late in the match, Albano tries to interfere, which causes Madusa to chase him into the ring. Inside the ring, Madusa kicks Albano in the head, knocking him out cold.
Candido goes after Madusa, but Ace stands between them, and then starts brawling with Candido. By this point, referee Dave Hebner has called for the bell and thrown the match out.
As Candido and Ace brawl, Jeff Jarrett, Jacques Rougeau and Steve Williams all hit the ring and a huge brawl errupts.
While that’s going on, UNABOMB comes out and holds a clothe over Madusa’s mouth and nose, which seems to knock her out. Unabomb then throws Madusa over his shoulder, and heads to the locker room. Ace sees this, and after knocking Jarrett from the ring, bails out of the ring and takes off down the ramp, in pursuit of Unabomb.
Back in the studio, Chris Cruise and Ray Rougeau wrap up the show and talk about what we just witnessed, where Unabomb has apparently abducted Madusa Miceli!
