Coss, “Crusher! What a surprise last week…Billy Jack Haynes is back in the Northwest!”
Stasiak, “Don, that’s the biggest news in years. Haynes vs. Oliver for the title is going to be a huge night.”
Coss, “We will talk to Billy later in the program. Let’s talk more about the ‘Portland Special’. We know that Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon I’ll meet the Midnight Express for the Northwest Tag Team Championship. Tonight, we have a ‘Captain’s Match’, Doug Furnas will take on Stan Lane, and you know Jim Cornette will be here. Let’s go to Don Owen.”
Match #1
Top Gun vs. CW Bergstrom
The masked man has been very impressive. Tonight he meets a muscular youngster. Bergstrom looks good early. Top Gun is very smooth and takes over. Bergstrom gets in a few cheap shots, but the masked man wins with a flying bodypress.
Winner- Top Gun
Match #2
Ricky Vaughn vs. “Mean” Mike Miller
Speed vs. roughhousing. Miller attacks Vaughn before the bell. He slams Ricky’s head into the turnbuckle. Miller is in control. Vaughn begins to fight back. Both men end up brawling on the arena floor. Referee Sandy Barr’s count reaches ten. Both men are counted out.
Result- Double Count Out
Crusher Stasiak is with Col DeBeers, Nikita Koloff, Nikolai Volkoff, and Boris Zhukov.
Stasiak, “With me are four men who hate America. Col DeBeers, your men are very good, but the fans hate them.”
DeBeers, “Who cares Stasiak! No one wants these worthless Americans to cheer for them! Koloff, Volkoff, and Zhukov are here to destroy any American in their paths!”
Stasiak, “Well, you will get your chance at the ‘Portland Special’. Your three monsters will take on DJ Peterson, the Trooper and the Midnight Soldier. That won’t be an easy task.”
DeBeers, “The enjoyment we will get from destroying three muscle bound Americans will be unbelievable!”
Stasiak, “It will be a great match.”

Nikita Koloff w/Col DeBeers vs. Billy Two Rivers
“The Russian Nightmare” meets the talented Native American. Two Rivers tries to use his speed, and avoid Koloff. Nikita is frustrated and takes to the floor to confer with DeBeers. Koloff returns to the ring, and attacks Billy. He dishes out punishment, and wins with the Russian sickle.
Winner- Nikita Koloff
Match #4
The Simpson Brothers vs. Vince Torelli and Barry Horowitz
The popular young South Africans are in action. Shaun starts with Horowitz. Barry is a great mat wrestler, and he shows it. Shaun matches him move for move. Shaun tags in his older brother. Steve has Horowitz in trouble. Barry is able to escape and tag in Torelli. Vince is very aggressive. The crowd gets behind the Simpsons, and Steve lands a flying bodypress for the win.
Winners- Simpson Brothers
Don Coss is in the Crow’s Nest with Billy Jack Haynes. When the crowd sees Billy they explode.
Coss, “With me is one of the men who will wrestle for the Northwest Title at the ‘Portland Special’. Billy, welcome home.”
Haynes, “Thank you Don. It is great to be home, and who’s on the other side of the ring? My old friend ‘The Crippler’.”
Coss, “The ‘Portland Special’ has been a staple of wrestling in the Northwest, but the buzz around this one is off the charts.”
Haynes, “I want to win this for the fans. They’ve welcomed me back, and Oliver, I owe you a beating, and it’s coming on September 5.”
Coss, “September 5, at the ‘House of Action’, Haynes vs. Oliver!”

Grappler II vs. Jerry Lynn
The “second” Grappler is in action. Jerry Lynn is very talented, and this will be a good matchup. Lynn is very quick, and he flies around the ring. The Grappler is frustrated. He tries to rough up Lynn, and it works. Jerry puts up a good fight, but Grappler II lands a big boot for the win.
Winner- Grappler II
Stasiak is with Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express.
Stasiak, “With me is the biggest mouth in wrestling, Jim Cornette.”
Cornette, “Watch it Stasiak, or I’ll have to stop my men from holding me back, and I’ll take care of you once and for all!”
Stasiak, “Alright, as obnoxious as you are, you have a great tag team that will wrestle for the tag titles at ‘Portland Special’.”
Cornette, “That's right, and we’re fixing to win those titles against those two muscle heads!”
Stasiak, “Tonight, Stan Lane meets Doug Furnas in a ‘Captain’s Match’.”
Cornette, “Tonight it’s one on one, ‘Sweet Stan’ will tie Furnas in knots, and then on the 5th, we’ll take care of both of them!”
Match #6
“Sweet Stan” Lane w/Jim Cornette vs. Doug Furnas
Cornette takes the mic from Owen.
Cornette, “Give me that Owen, you’re getting Geritol all over it. Ladies and gentlemen, there is only one tonight, but ladies, he’s enough…’Sweet Stan’!”
The match is hard hitting. Lane uses his martial arts skills to offset Furnas’s power. The match goes back and forth. Cornette’s emotions run the full gamut. He is cocky when Lane is in control, apoplectic when Furnas is on top. Lane shoots Furnas into the corner. Referee Sandy Barr is in the way, and is smashed by Doug. With Barr down, Cornette tosses the tennis racket to Lane. He decks Furnas, tosses the racket to Cornette, and covers Doug. Barr struggles to his feet and counts the fall. Cornette and Lane celebrate as the crowd boos.
Winner- Stan Lane
Coss and Stasiak close the show.
Coss, “Crusher, that was terrible. Jim Cornette is going to be a problem.”
Stasiak, “He’s sneaky, Furnas and LaFon are going to have to be ready.”
Coss, “Join us, next week, for more action.”
